Description of DENIS HESSIAN, native of Clare- galway, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 27th or morning of the 28th February, 1892, in tke barony of Galway, parish of Saint Nicholas, stolen from the Naval Reserve Battery at Fair Hill, 22 rifles and 17 cutlasses:— Flat mouth, and supposed to have a pimple on tne side of his noea, dark ejes, Kerryr * Description of a man, who states his name' is SIMON CONNOLLY ( mother's surname Wholly), native of Gort, who stands charged with having,- in the month of December, 1891, in the barony of Iveragh, jarish of Glenbeigh, stolen a coat from one John M'Carthy:— Tattooed cross ( partly erased) on inner side of left forearm, looks as if it had been an anchor; band on left wrist, ring on middle finger of left hand, and marks of burns or sores on left hand, ears somewhat prominent; blue eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion; long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 23 years of age, light brown hair, had a fair moustache, r* hieh ho has since shaved off; sometimes wore a cap, at others a bat. tweed ooat, trowsers, and vest, which he has repeatedly changed; speaks Irish and English ; states be is a labourer, has worked as a tailor. Description of MARY KATE LYONS, native of Graigue, county Kilkenny, who stands charge 1 with having, on tbe 8th day of April, 1892, in the barony of Clonlisk, parish of Shinrone, obtained several am ill sums of money by false pretences while dressed as a nan, and falsely representing hersel: as a Sister of Charity:— Wants some front teeth in upper and lower jaw, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round full fat face, medium make, 5 feet 3 inches high, aboat 50 years of age, gray hair ; dressed like a nan. This woman has been returned for trial at Birr Quarter Sessions to be held on 24th May, 1892, and may have committed crime elsewhere. Description of A MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 4th day of April, 1892, in the harony of Ballybritt, parish of Birr, stolen a watch and £ V from Joseph Lewis of Parsonstown:— Fair complexion, fair face, medium make, ft feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a pepper- and- salt colour tweed cap with ear flaps, tweed coat, trowsers, and vest 5 is a tramp; looks like a discharged soldier; will likely enlist. Particulars of CHARLES BOUND, of Lord- street, Liverpool, who was convicted on lst March, of having, on 20th October, 1891, obtained, by false pretences, a sum of money from Edward Hurst, pro- vision dealer, Parsonstown, and sentenced to 18 months' imprisonment, as it is believed he has also defrauded numbers of traders throughout the country, it is requested that the Police will cause the necessary inquiries to be made amongst small dealers in earthen- ware and others. He represented himself to be a commission agent for various pottery firms in England, and also traded as the " Staffordshire Earthenware and Hardware Company," a firm which . exists in name only, and on receipt of money fails to forward the goods. In some instances where the orders were for small amounts, he forwarded the goods for the purpose, presumably, of getting larger orders. Description of PATRICK REARDON, and JAMES REARDON, natives of Gurteendevaue, who stand charged with having, on the 16th March, 1892, at Bailyhsne, in the barony of Kilnamanagh Upper, parish of Toem, seriously assaulted George Reardon, by striking him on the bead with stone*, fracturing his skull and placing his life m danger:— 1. Very good looking, never shaved, no beard or whiskers; gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, slight make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 22 or 23 years of age, fair hair; wore a bright tweed cap, dark serge coat, bright tweed trowsers, and tweed vest; is a tailor. 2. Description of a MAN, name and native place un- known, who stands charged with having, oa the 12th ^ arcb, 1892, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Clonbeg, unlawfully entered the dwelling- house of Michael Halloran, Ballycrana, and stolen therefrom a coat, razor, and a scarf, all value for £ 1 7s. 6> L, and 41. in cash:— Wild looking, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 30 years of age; wore a cap, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; bad the appearance of an Army Reserve man. Particulars relative to Convict OWEN KEATING^ 0 144, convicted at Dublin City Sessions, on 28th March, 1887, for housebreaking, and sentenced to ft years' penal servitude:— 34 years of age on con- viction, married, is a tailor, born at Dublin, where he resided before conviction; his friends reside at Kil kenny : Dark brown hair turning gray, hazel eyes, brown eyebrows, medium nose, small mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, stent make, 5 feet inches higii; out- mark on upper lip and at corner of right eye, two cut- marks on right wrist. This man was released on licence from Maryboro' Prison, on 4th M- rcb, 1891, and went to reside at Kilkenny. He left Londonderry ( where he had been serving in the Miiitia) on 2nd ulto. for Belfast, but he has not reported himself at the latter place, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sec. 5 of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 14th March, 1892. ( 464 H. C.) Particulars relative to Convict JOHN JAMES MORIARTY, c 75, convicted at the Dublin Com- mission Court, on 10th August, 1886, for embezzle- ment, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude:— 28 years of age on conviction, single, is a back clerk, born at Dublin, resided at Dublin before conviction, where his friends reside:— Brown hair, blue eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose, small mouth, fair com- plexion, round visage, stout mat e, 5 feet inches high; burn- mark between right thumb and Anger, lost an upper front tooth. This man was released on licence from Mount- oy Prison, 9th November, 1891, and went to reside at 23, Upper Temple- street, Dublin. He recently left bis residence without notifying same to the Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sec. 5 of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 14th March, 1892. ( 464 H. C.) SCOTCH POLICE. Banffshire, Wanted, under a Magistrate's Warrant, on a charge of theft of a watch ( recovered) in the burgh of Buckie, Banffshire, between 31st December, 1891, and 10th Feb., 1892, MATTHEW SEATON HARDY:— A music teacher, native of Skene, Aberdeenshire, about 25 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, dark com- plexion, dark bushy curly hair, small dark whiskers and moustache, no beard, medium build, wants a front tooth in upper jaw, one or more of the fingers of tbe left hand contracted ; dressed in dark single- breasted overcoat, gray tweed trowsers, a hard felt hat, wore a pair of brown kid gloves, and carried a black- thorn cane, Hardy's father is employed at Garlogie Spinning Mill, Skene, and resides in one of the cottages there, and accused at one time conducted the psalmody in the parish church there. He is married, but, in con- sequence of bis drunken habits, his wife is living apart from him with hsr father, at Garmouth- on- Spey. He was in Lossiemouth on the 23rd January last, and in Nairn on 25th February, going in the direction of Auldearn, bnt has not been heard of since. It is possible that this may be the person described in the Police information from Ross- shire, dated 26th March last, and in the " Hue- and- Cry" of 1st inst. for theft of a Watch in Stilling. Accused represents himself as a piano tuner, and has been known to rtate that he was representing the firms of " Collard < k Cellard, of London," and " Messrs. Logan, Inverr- ess although it is not believed that he is possessed of the knowledge necessary to a piano tuner. Police Officers are requested to make starch and inquiry for this person, and if found, arrest, detain, and wire tbe Subscriber, when he will be s » nt for. DAVID HAIG, Chief Constable of Banffshire. PATRICK DOCHERTY, a money lender, from 35 to 40 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, stout made, fresh complexion, bare faced except mons'sche, fair hair, cut short and turning gray; usually dressed in a gray tweed jacket suit and felt hat; resided at one time at 496, Dobbie's Loan, of this city, but some time ago bought Artilow Farm, Longheske, county Donegal, Ireland, where be has since being residing. The accused was indicted on a charge of perjury and fraudulent bankruptcy, and was to have been tried at a Diet of the Sheriff and Jury Court, held in this city to- day, but failed to appear, and his bail bond was declared forfeited, and a Warrant granted for his arrest. He will probably endeavour to leave tbe country. Absconded yesterday. H. 8." and other ornaments, gilt, but gilding wss mnoh wort; a silver plate, similar to foot or stand of cup, but 3 indies wider in diameter, the centre of it gilt, but gilding was much worn, engraved on it " I H. 8.;" a small silver spoon for administering Sacrament in extreme cases, 3 inches long, and a cross on the top of the handle.
