Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is Bought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be acoompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of thia nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the nuiiber it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Descripiion of a man, who states his name is SIMON CONNOLLY ( mother's surname Wholly), native cf Gort, who stands charged with haying, in the month of December, 1891, in the barony of Iversgb, parish of Glenbeigb, stolen a coat from one John M'Carthy:— Tattooed cross on inner side of left forearm, band on left wrist, ring on middle finger, and marks of burns or sores on left hand, ears somewhat prominent'} blue eyes, regular UTD, sallow complexion, long face medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 23 years of age, light brown hair, had a fair moustaohe, which he has since shaved off; sometimss wora a cap, at others a h^ it, tweed coat, trousers, and ves% which he has repeatedly changed; Speaks Irish and English; sates hois a labourer, has worked as a tailor. Description of JAMES WALSH, supposed native of Tipperaty, who stands charged with having, on the 8th day of February, 1892, in the barony of Connell, parish of Morristownbiller, obtained a cheque lor £ 9 4d.. by false pretences, which be subsequently ( fnverted to his o* n f ee, from Mr. Shore, contractor, at Newbridge:— Walts with a slight halt in right leg, nhaves chin ana upper lip; gray eyes, thick nose, radish complexion, stout maid, 5 feet 7 inches high, « > bout 40 years of age; is a tramp labourer; served in army. Warrant issued. Athy, 18th February, 1892. ( 14060 a.— 97901.) Kilkenny. Woman, supposed to be ANASTASIA M'DON- NELL ( forging cheque), Hue- and- Cry, 12th Janoaty, 1892, not arrested. Particulars of CHARLES ROUND, of Lord- street, Liverpool, who was convicted on 1st March, of having, on 20th October, 1891, obtained, by false pretences, a sum of money from Edward Hurst. pro- vision dealer, Parsonstown, and sentenced to 18 montla' imprisonment, as it is believed he has also defrauded numbers of traders throughout the country, it is requested that the Police will cause the necessary inquiries to be made amongst small dealers in earthen- ware and others. He represented himself to be a commission a^ ent for various pottery firms in England, « nd also traded as the " Staffordshire Earthenware and Hardware Company," a firm which exists in rame only, and on receipt of money fails to forward the goods. In some instances where the orders were for small amounts, he forwarded the goods for the purpose, presumably, of getting larger orders. Carra, parish of Aglish, embezzled the sum of £ 100, the property of his employer, William Levingstone, Esquire, Westport: Slope shoulders, bends forward when walking, long upper lip, shared full face, dark moustache; brown evep, dark ccmplexion, long face, slight cake, 5 feet 11 itches high, about 30 years of 8ge; fs a commercial clf'k. Description of THOMAS O'HARA ( mother's sur- name Taylor), native of Carrantemple, district of Ballymote, county Sligo, who stands charged with hating, on the 1st day of February, 1892, in the larony of Costelloe, parish of Kilcolman, seriously assaulted James Convee, at Ballaghadereen, by kick- ing him on the bead, thereby placing his life in danger; gray ejes, rather long note, sandy complexion, rather long face, stout, active make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high. abe ut 22 years ol age, sandy hair; wears sandy itonstacle, shaves all the lace; wore a light tweed coat, trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son. MYERS alias W. BARON, native ot London, and A MAN unknown, supposed nstive of London, who stand charged with having, on the 5th February. 1892, in the barony of Maryborough East, parish of Borris, obtained by false pretences a sum of £ 4 1 « . from Mr. R. J. Henderson, provision dealer, Maryborough, representing themselves as sell- ing Stramonium Cigarettes, and appointing aeents for the firm, B. Myers, Stramonium Cigarette Manufac- ttu ers, 3A, Shandy street, Mile End- road, London, S., which only exists in name. The London Police have received several complaints. They are travelling from town to town, and have committed several frauds. The cigarettes are of no value :— J. Long hands and fingers, full mouth, sandy moustache, speaks with an English aoae- nt; regular note, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, about 5 feet 8 inches high, about 80 years of age, sandy or fair hair; wore a btrd low bat, Melton top est with velvet collar, and light trowseis; represents himself as a traveller. 2. Jewish appearance, slight dark moustache, datk brown eyes, regular rose, sallow complexion, round face, stout make, about 5 feet & inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a dirk coat, trowsers, and vest; represents himself as a traveller. Thoso men take orders, deliver goods, appoint agents at gen- erally 10* f d. per month, undertaking to take back goods unsold, and on these grounds get orders and receive money. Particulars relative to Convict OWEN KEATING, o 144, convicted at Dublin City Sessions, on 28th March, 1887, for housebreaking, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 34 years cf age on con- viction, married, is a tailor, born at Dublin, where he resided before conviction; his friends reside at Kil- kenny:— Dirk brown hair turning gray, hszil eyes, brown eyebrows, medium nose, small mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, st< ut make, 5 feet 6$ inches biga s cut- mark on upper lip and at corner of right eye, two cut- marks on right wrist. This man was released on licence from Maryboro' Prison, on 4th March, 1891, » nd went to reside at Kilkenny, He left Londonderry ( where he had been serving in the Mi itia) on 2nd utto. for Belfast, but he has not reported himself at the latter place, and his present whereabouts ia unknown. Particulars relative to Convict JOHN JAMES MORIARTY, o 75, convicted at the Dublin Com- mission Court, on 10th August, 1886, for embezzle- ment, and sentenced to 7 years'penal servitude:— 88 years of age on conviction, single, is a bank clerk, torn at Dublin, resided at Dublin before cintijtion, where his friends reside:— Brown hair, blue ejei, brown eyebrows, regular nose, small mouth, fair com- plexion, round visage, stout male, 5 feet incles high | burn- mark between right thumb and Anger, lost an upper front tooth. This man was released on licence from Mount- oy Prison, 9th November, I89J, and went to reside at 23, Upper Temple. street, Dublin. He recently Jeft his ie.- idetce without notifying same to the Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under ser. 5 of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., eap. 112. 14th March, 1892. ( 464 H. C.) Description of MATHEW FAHY, who stand* charged with the larceny of three chests of tea from the premises of the Midland Great Western Railway Company, at North Wall, on 30th November, 1891;— 85 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout build, round shoulders, brown hair, full face, heavy sandy moustache, remainder of face shaved ; when last seen was dressed in cross bar tweed suit and black Jerry bat; is a native of Woodford, county Galway, and has friends residing at Athenry and Nenagh, Warrant in the hands of Chief Superintendent.. 9th January, 1892. THE POLICE GAZETTE, OR HUE- AND- CRY, FEBRUARY 5, 1892. ENGLISH POLICE. Essex. Particulars relative to Conviot THOMAS NASH, convicted at Chelmsford, Essex, at the Quarter Sessions, on the 19th October, 1887, for fraud, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude and 3 years' police super- vision:—' 45 years of age on conviction, is a labourer, born in Middlesex; no fixed residence; brown hair, blue eyes, fair eyebrows, regular nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet 3 inches high; scar on left arm. This man was released from Pentonville Prison on licence, 29th October, 1891. He notified to the Dublin Metropolitan Police on 26th ult. that he was going to Cork, but he has not reported himself there, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt witl under sec. 5 of 84 and 35 Vic., cap. 11?. 21st January, 1892. ( 451 H. C.) Lancashire. Wanted, in this city, for stealing £ 366 19*, io notes and gold, on the 24th instants— JOSEPH POLOYDOR NODDFR, clerk, 28 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches in height, stout build, brown hair, slight brown moustache, fell face a few red pimples on ( ace near ncse, sallow complexion, sleepy appear- ance ; dressed when last seen on the 53rd instant in black worsted suit, morning coat white shirt and collar, black bow, button boots, black hard felt hat He is known to a Mr. George Allen, a Solicitor, at Aberdeen. His grandmother, Mrs. Jones resides at Sunnyside, 14, Church- road, Seaforth. Timlin left York on the 2nd of Februer/ last, and is supposed to have gone to Ireland. His parents belong to the west or s juth- west of Ir Jand, and he is supposed to have relatives or friends still there, with whom le may be staying. Glasgow, Wanted, on a Sheriff's Warrant, for perjury and fraudulent bankruptcy PATRICK DOCHERTY, a money lender, from 35 to 40 j ears of age, 5 feat 5 inches high, stout made, tresh complexion, barefaced except mons ache, fair hair, cut short and turning gray; usually dressed in a gray tweed jacket suit and felt hat; resided at one time at 496, Dobbie's Loan, of this city, but some time ago bought Artdow Farm, Loogheske, county Donegal, Ireland, where he has since being residing. The accused was indicted on a charge of perjury and fraudulent bankruptcy, and waj to have beien tried at a Diet of the Sheriff and Jury Court, held in this city to- day, but failed to appear, and his bail bond was declared loneited, and a Warrant granted for his arrest. He will probably endeavour to leave the country. Absconded yesterday. Description of articles, the property of James Ryan, of Parsonstown, which were burglariously stolen from bis house at Parsonstown, parish of Birr, barony of Ballybritt, on the 22nd day of January, 1891, viz.:—. A Waterbury watch, old; value for 2*. 6d.; a pair of earrings, Indian gold ; 4 pairs of boots ( one pair of men's, and three pairs description unknown, supposed to be children's); 4 pairs of long leather leggings, with steel spring fastenings; a gold ring, with blood stone; 4 gold rings, plain. Description of a brooch and watch, the property of Mrs. Fitzgerald Kenny, which were stolen from her dwellinghouse at Clogher, parish of Drum, and county of Mayo, between 31st July, 1891, and 14th January, 1892, by some person or persons at present unknown:— 1. A white pearl brooch, with a purple stone ( amethyst) sat in centre; value £ 40. A reward of £ 5 will be given for its reoovery. 2. A French watch, set at the back with imitation rubies and pearls, also a row of pearls round the dial, four or five of which were missing, the keyhole for winding the watch was on the dial. A reward of £ i will be given for its recovery. It is supposed these articles were pawned either in the country or in Dublin city or suburbs. Informa- tion to be given to District Inspector, RJ.
