No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. AD Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, snd by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person aharged with an offenoe of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. * » * Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without thla information the mistake cannot be rectified. Particulars of CHARLES ROUND, of Lord' street, Liverpool, who stands charged on remaud with having, on 20th October, 1891, obtained, by false pretence?, a sum of money from Edward Hurst, pro vision dealer, Parsonetown. Round ia now in custody, and es it is believed he has also defrauded number^ of traders throughout the country, it is requested that the Police will cause the necessary inquiries to be made amongst small dealers in earthenware and others. He represents himself to ba a commission a^ ent tor various patt « ry firms in England, and also trades as the " Staffordshire Earthenware and Herdware Com- pany," a firm which exists in name only, and on receipt of money fails to torward the goods. In some instances where the orders were for small amounts, he has forwarded the goods for the purpose, presum ably, of getting larger orders. J. Henderson, provision dealer, Maryborough, representing themselves fs sell- ing stramonium Cigarettes, and appointing agents fo7 tie firm, B. Myers, Stramonium Cigarette Manufac- tui ers, 3A, Shandy- street, Mile End- road, London, S., which only exists in name. The London Police have received several complaints. They sre travelling from town to town, and have committed several frauds. The cigarettes are of no value :— 1. Long hands and fingers, full mouth, sandy moustache, speaks with en English accent; regular nose, fresh complexion, rcutd face, stout make, about 5 feet 8 inches high, about 30 years of age, sandy or fair hair; wore a hard low let, Melton top coat with velvet collar, and light trowsers; represents himself as a traveller. 2. Jewish appearance, slight dark moustache, dark brown eyes, regular rose, sallow complexion, round face, stout make, about 5 feet 5 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hsir; wore a dsrk cost, trowsers, and vest; represents himself as a traveller. These men take orders, deliver gods, appoint agents at gen- erally 1Cs Cd. per month, undertaking to take back goods unsold, and on these grounds get orders and receive money. Description of MICHAEL STAPLETON ( mother's surname Purcell), native of Gortkelly, and TWO MEN unknown, native places nnknown, who stand charged with having, on the 3rd September, 1891, in the barony of Eliogarty, parish of Temple- more, seriously assaulted Sergeant Thomas Devany and Constable James Drohan, R. I. C., while in the execution of their duty :— 1. Small sandy side whiskers and moustache, good looking, blue eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 29 years of age, sandy hair; wore a soft black hat, lost ia the row and now in possession of the Police, blue overcoat, and black trowsers and vest. Description of PATRICK DELANEY, native of Hplycross, county Tipperary, who stands charged with having, on the lfith day of July, 1891, in the baroty of Clanwilliam, parish of Tipperary, and town of Tipperary, when under arrest for larceny of whiskey from a dwelling, escaped from custody :— Blotches on face, very sharp manner of speaking; gray eyes, very small nose, red complexion, very thin face, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair turning gray; were an old tweed coat, dark trowsers, and old vest; shabby clothes, coat torn on left arm; is a tramp, Warrant for his arrest with District Inspector, Tipperary. Description of HUGH KELLY, native ol Fallagh, county Tyrone, who stands charged with having, on the night of 2nd February, 1892, in tie barony of Strabsne Upper, parish of Cappagh, attempted to rape Mary Donnelly, of Ballinamullen:— Dark eyes, regular nose, dark sallow complexion, long thin face, mediam make, 6 feet high, about 45 years of age, dark hair turning gray; wore a black cloth coat, dark tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a small broken- down farmer and road contractor. Description of MARK DEERY ( mother's surname Devlin), native of Feebane West, who stands charged with having, on the 6th January, 1892, at Gortin, in the barony of Strabane Uj^ r, parish of Badoney Lower, seriously assaulte^ ns une'e, Fras. Decry, by striking him several times on the lead with a stick:— Speaks through his nose, shaves all his face except small fair moustache, gray eyes, regu'ar nose, fair complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair hair; wore a soft felt hat, dark frieze coat, gray trowscrs, and white sleeved vest; is a farmer's son. Description of THOMAS CASHEL ( mother's surname Foley), native of Cappoquin, who stands charged with having, on or about the 3rd September, 1891, in the barony of Coshmore and Coshbride, parish of Lismore, stolen a letter containing a postal order for 15*. :— Walfcs with a sight stoop and swaggering gait, gray or bine eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches higb, about 18 years of age, fair hair; were a light tweed cap, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a servant boy. Description of MATHEW FAHY, who stands charged with the larceny of three chests of tea from the premises of tbe Midland Great Western Railway Company, at North Wall, on 30th November, 1891:— 35 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches higb, stout build, round shoulders, brown bair, full face, heavy sandy moustache, remainder of face shaved ; wben last seen was dressed in cross bar tweed suit snd black Jerry hat; is a native of Woodford, couDty Galway, and has friends residing at Atbenry and fvenagh, Warrant in the bands of Chief Superintendent. 9th January, 1892. Particulars relative to Convict THOMAS BURNS, C. 128, convicted at the Recorder's Court, Belfast, county Antrim, on 17th February, 1887, for break- ing and entering, and larceny, and previous conviction, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 28 years of age on conviction, single, i § an iron turner, born at Falls- road, Belfast, resided at Belfast before conviction; has friends residing at Divis- street, Bel- fast :— Fair hair, gray eyes, fair eyebrows, broad nose, medium month, fresh complexion, ova! visage, stout make, 5 feet 5£ inches high, scar on forehead, right knee, and left breast, two dots between left thumb and finger, lost several upper teeth. This man was released cn licence from Mountjoy Prison on 28th April, 1891, snd went to Belfast. He left his residence on the 16th ult. without reporting to the Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sec. 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 5th November, 1891. ( 487 H. Pa^ fltB relative to Convict THOMAS NASH, convicted at Chelmsford, Essex, at tbe Quarter Sessions, on the 19th October, 1887, for frand, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude and 3 years' police super- vision :— 45 years of age on conviction, is a labourer, born in Middlesex; no fixed residence; brown hair, blue eyes, ( air eyebrows, regular nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet 3 inches high; scar on left arm. This man was released from Pentonville Prison on licence, 29th October, 1891. He notified to the Dublin Metropolitan Police on 26th ult. that he was ftoirg to Cork, bot he has not reported himself there, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sec, 5 of 84 and 85 Vic., cap. 112. 21st January, 1892. ( 451 H. O.) lancashire. Wanted, for forging and uttering two Post Office Orders, about 2 p. m., on the 27th instant, a man who pave bis name as THOMAS DILLON or DICKENS:— Spoke with an Irish accent, abcut 35 years of age, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, dark com- plexion, dark bair and small side whiskers, long features; dressed in a shabby dark brown Chesterfield overcoat, black felt hat, white cashmere muffler, and dark trowsers; on another occasion he wore a shabby brown tweed suit. On tie 26th instant be obtained two Post Office Orders for Is. eacb, at a Branch Post Office, payable to William Gardner at Bradford, and Walter Dudley at Northampton; when presented they bad each been altered to £ 5, payable at Liverpool He purcbesed a black Inverness macintosh, with a velvet collar ( which he may wear), for 80*., at a large ont fitters, and got both Orders cashed at the shop where tie purchase was made. Kindly cause every possible enquiry to be made ; warn shopkeepers; and if met with arrest and wire, or forward any information to GEORGE WILLIAMS, Chief Superintendent. Wanted on warrant, charged with stealing £ 35 in gold, at Brierley Hill, on the 1st inst., JAMES ARTHUR COOPER:— A native of Brierley Bill, Staffordshire, labourer or seaman, 19 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, light complexion, light brown bair, no whiskers or moustache, hazel eyes, slender build; dressed in a light plaid csp with peak, dark plaid cloth " round jacket" suit, light laced boots, white collar and front and red necktie with lavender stripes. A man of tl e following description was seen under suspicious circumstances in the locality:— About 40 years of ace, 5 feet 9 cr 10 inches in height, ordinary or rather slim built, dark reddish hair, whiskers, and moustache, shaved on chin, very pale thin face; dress — dark short overcoat or dust coat, dark trowsers, white collar, black felt bat, all in good order.
