Cork. Description of TIMOTHY RIORDAN ( mother's surname Twomey), native of Shanakeel, county Cork, and JOHN DOODY ( mother's surname Murphy), native 0! Kilboultra, county Cork, who stand charged with having, on or about tho 5th Jane, 1891, in the barony of West Muskerry, parisi of Macroom, wilfully conspired, confederated, and agreed to murder one Jeremiah Riordan, of Shanakeel:— 1. square shoulders, rather short neck, gray eye?, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 32 y « ri of age, dark hair; wore a round felt hat, black frock o. ont, striped gray trowsew, black vest; is a farmer. Description of DENIS CARTHY and JOHN PENDER alias " BALLYCOTTON," natives of Tallow, county Waterford, who stand charged with having, on the night of 13th or morning of 14th instant, in the barony of Kinnattalloon, parish of Mogeely, stolen six sheep, the property of Thomas Tobin, of Lackenboha, and sol'' them at the last Midleton fair ( 14th instant), for £ 9 12s.:— 1. Left arm appears weak; gray eyes, regular no3e, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches higb, about 40 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark coat, gray trowsers, and vest; wears all his beard, which is of a dirty brown colour. Has the appearance of a am all farmer. He was in America, and was convicted some time ago of cattle stealing. 2. Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin freckled face, slight make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 30 years of age; shaves all the face except moustache, which is sandy; was in the army some time. Description of PATRICK RYAN ( TURIG , and MICHAEL RYAN ( TURIG), mother's surname Bourke, natives of KylegarrifF, who stand charged with having, on the 11th Dacamber, 1891, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Dooa, committal an assault, endangering life, on Patrick Hennessy:— J. Blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, rather thin face, medium make, 6 feet high, about 25 years of age, fair hair, very fair moustache; wore a browa hat, blue sarge coat, trowaars, and ve3t; is a farmer"* son. 2. This man deserted from the 69tb Field Battery, Royal Artillery, at Limerick, on the 4th of October, 1891, and may be wearing the clothes which he stole, whioh are of the following description, dark tweed coat and browsers. Description of JAMES BRIEN, alias BRIEN THE RAKE ( mother's surname Power), native of Tip- perary, 8. ft;, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd October, 1891, in the barony of Slievardagh, parish of Newtown, stolen the sum of £ 18 from his employer, James Whelan, of Oldcastle:— Walks with a heavy slovenly gait; light brown eyes, slightly cocked nose, rather sallow complexion, large bold full face,- stout square make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 22 or 23 years of age, fairish hair; Voja a brown tweed cap with peak and ear- flaps tied at top, coarse brown tweed sack coat and trowsers, dark vest; is a labourer and deserter from army ; frequents Kil- kenny and Waterford. ( 98960 < 3.— 86735.) r Monaghan Description of PATRICK SHERRY, ab'as PATRICK DUFFY, native of Donaghmoyne, county Monaghan, who stands charged with ha on the 7tb of December, 1891, in the barony of Trough, parish of Donagh, committed a rape on Anne Elizabeth Clarke, and subsequently escaped from the Police when under arrest:— A fresh cut on forehead which be received in the struggle with the Police 1 brown eyes, regular nose, florid complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches higb, about 30 years of age, red bair, short red moustache, rest of face shaven ; wore a black hat, old tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed vest; is a labourer. Description of JOHN PURCELL, native of Mona- mondra, Queen's County, who stands charged with having, on the 14th October, 1891, at Ballycleary, in the barony of Upperwoods, parish of Offerlane, stolen the sum of 10a. from his master :— Light brown eyes, hooked nose, sandy complexion, thin faee, medium makei 6 feet 8 inches high, about 36 years of age, thin sandy beard, sandy hair ; wore a soft black hat, dark morning coat, and barracan trowsers, no vest; is a tramping labourer. Description of MICHAEL STAPLETON ( mother's surname Purcell), native of Gortkelly, and TWO MEN unknown, native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 3rd September, 1891, in the barony of Elibgarty, parish of Temple- more; seriously assaulted Sergeant Thomas Devany and Constable James Drohan, R. I. C., while in the execution of their duty :— 1. Small sandy side whiskers and moustache, good looking, blue eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, Stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 29 years of age, Bandy hair; wore a soft black hat, lost in the row and now in possession of the Police, blue overcoat, and black trowsers and vest. Is a Farmer and returned American. 2. Round shoulders, fresh cut on eyebrow, blue eyes, sandy complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet high, ahout 34 years of age, sandy hair; wore a soft black hat, brown tweed coat, and black trowsers and [ vest. 3. Description of ROBERT SLEATOR ( mother's surname Foster), native of Behey, who stands charged with having, on the 17th day of October, 1891, in the barony of Tirerrill, parish of Ballysodare, stolen an iron gate, value £ 3, the property of John Coleman, Collooney:— Small fair moustache, gray or blue eyes, slightly hooked nore, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches higb, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a black hard hat, tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, sometimes wears an overcoat, Newmarket make; is a farmer's son; served in tbe R I. C. This man was bailed to take his trial for said offence at Riverstown Petty Sessions on 28th ult., but failed to su render to his recognizances. Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the District Inspector at'Colloonoy. Collooney, 1st Nov., 1891. ( 12278 94846.) Descriptions of PATRICK DAVERN, native of Bohernagibbons, and MICHAEL M'INERNEY ( mother's surname Duggan), native of Tipperary, who stand chareed with having, on tbe 9th of November, 1891, in the barony of ClanWilliam, parish of Tip- perarp, seriously assaulted John Rielly, of Garryshane, by striking him with a stono on the head, from the effects pf which he died on 2fHh November, 18911 1. Good- looking, active appearance, walks with a short step, gray eyes, rad nnsa, fair complexion, round faea, stoat make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tveed coat. trows>' rs, and vest; is a farm labourer. Is a returned American, amd may try to emigrate. Warrant isfraed, in Lands of, District Inspector, Tipperary. 2. Round high shoulders, short neck awkward gait, largo h « gh mouth, generally keeps his haods in his' trowsors pockets; very largi blue eyes, slightly cocked KMe, fresh complexion, freckled faca, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 21 ytfaW of age, fair hair; wore a gr* y tweed cap, brown tweed sack co< brown tweed trowsers, and tweed vest; is a feathrr plucker ard labourer. Description of PATRICK DELANEY, native of Holyeross, county Tipperary, who stands charged with having, on the 15th day of July, 1891, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Tipperary, and town of Tipperary, when under arrest for larceny of whiskey from a dwelling, escaped from custody:— Blotches on face, very sharp manner of speaking; gray eyee, very small nose, red complexion, very thin face, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair turning gray; were an old tweed coat, dark trowsers, and old vest; shabby clothes, coat torn on left arm; is a tramp, Warrant for his arrest with District Inspector, Tipperary. Description of PATRICK DWYER, native o Grovestown, Dundrum, wi> ho stands chareed with having, on or about the 4th' June. 1891, at Ballygur- rane, in the barony of Kilnamanagh, Lower, parish of Oughterleague, stolen four yearling cattle, the pro- perty of Rhody Dwyer, off his farm at Ballygurrane: — Delicate looking, stands erect, shaves all face except slight moustache, dark eyes, regular nose, dark com- plexion, thin faca, sfinjht make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 32 years of age, dark nair; wore a brown hat with crape band, plaid sack coat, black cloth trousers, plaid vest; is a clerk. Deery, by striking him several times on the Lead wjth a sti^ k t— Speaks through his nose, shaves all his face eXcept small fair moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fitilecunpkxiin, round face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high about $ 4 years of age, fair hiir. wore a soft f it hat dtuk frieze coat, gray trowstra, tnd wiiitet- ske el vest; is a farmer's son. Description of ANDREW M'CREA, native of Killowen, who stands charged with having, on the 9th October, 1891, in the oarony of Omagh West parish of Longfield west, fired a shot at John M'Menamin:— Shaved all bis face recently except moustache, which is sandy brown. eyes, regular nose, frejsh complexion round full face, stout make, 5 feet 7- J incnes 1 iph, a! out 28 years of age, sandy hair; is a Labourer. Description of THOMAS CASHEL ( mother^ surname Foley), native of Cappoquin, who stands charged with having, on or about the 3rd September, 1891, in the barony of Coshmore and Coshbride, parish of Lismore, stolen a letter containing a postal order for 15*. ;— Walks with a slight stoop and swaggering gait, gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 18 years of age, fair hair; wore a light tweed cap, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a servant boy. It is probable he may have enlisftd. Warrant has been issued for his arrest in hands of District Inspector, Cappoquin. Cappoquin, 23r^ Oct, 1891. ( 12255 c.— 94555.) Wicklow. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 23rd November, 1891, absconded from the St Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree :— JOHN FITZPATRICK, 2252, about 17 or 18 years of age, 5. feet 2 or 5 feet 3 inches high, ordinary make, fair complexion, brown hair, hazil eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage, small cut- mark on top of head; formerly belonged to 24, Upper Mercer- street, Dublin ; his parents reside at Goss's, 14, Aungier- street, Dublin. The school dress, all with the Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, cordaroy trowsers, moleskin vest, elastic belt, and strong nailed boots, No. 2252. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. 25th November, 1891. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 23rd November, 1891, absconded from the St Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree:— JAMES M'SHEA, 2408, about 16 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, ordinary make, fresh com- plexion, brown hair, brown eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage; cut mark on forehead; formerly belonged to 2 or 3. Clarendon- row, Dublin; parents reside at 4, Lower Mercer- street, Dublin. The School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, moleskin vest, corduroy trowsers, elastic belt, strong nailed boots, No. 2408. M'Shane, is the boy's real name, his brother- in- law, Joseph Walsh ( window blind maker), residce at 3, Lower Kevin- street, and his aunt, Mrs. Rafferty, who Works at Jacob's, resides in Bride- street. Dublin. THE POLICE GAZETTE, OB HUE- AND- CRY, JANUARY 19, lf# 2 Particulars relative to Convict THOMAS BURNS' 0. 128, convicted at the Recorder's Conrt, Belfast, county Antrim, on 17th February, 1887, for break- ing and entering, and larceny, and previous conviction, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 28 years of age on conviction, single, is an iron turner, bora at Falls- road, Belfast, resided at Belfast before conviction; has friends residing at Divis- street, Bel- fast :— Fair hair, gray eyes, ( air eyebrows, broad nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet inches high, scar on forehead, right knee, and left breast, two dote between left thumb and finger, lost several upper teeth. Thi* man was released on licence from Mountjoy Prison on iftth April, 1891, and went to Belfast. He left his residence on the 16th ult. without reporting to the Polioe, and his present whereabouts is unknown.
