All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn * but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. ' Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will bp. inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension i -. gH or. a, charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. jj. it t„ . Description of JAMES IRWIN, native of Clongh, whost'nds charged with having, on the 20th Novem- ber, 1891, in the barony of Lower Glenarm, parish of Lay<? e, ttolen three heifers, the property of Rose Mooney and Francis M'Auley :— Wants a tooth in left side upper jaw, walks stiff as if feet sore, turns out his toes; gray eyes, regu'ar nose, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years cf age, sandy hair; wore a brown hard felt low tat, brown faded coat, corduroy trowserp, and dark vest; is a labourer. Description of EDWARD S. W. DE COBAIN, native of Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross indecency with another male person, and within the same time, and at the place aforesaid did incite divers other male persons to commit sodomy:— Walks erect, square shoulders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when speaking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, foil face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a silk hat, black Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest; is a Member of Parliament. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Detective Department, Belfast, to whom information should be sent. NOTe.— Arrest cannot be legally made without Warrant. Belfast, 15th April, 1891. Carlow. Description of PATRICK CUMMINS ( mother's surname Neill), native of Bagnalstown, who stands charged with having, on the 9th day of July, 1801, in the barony of ldrone East, parish of Dunleckney, seriously assanlted one Patrick Whelan, by stabbing him with a knife. This man was bailed to take his trial for said offence at Carlow Quarter Sessions, on 22na inst., but fa'ledto surrender to his recognizance:— Light cut mark over left eye and on right thumb, gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, stout active make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 26 years of age, fair hair, hair grows thin on face, shaves seldom; wore a round black cap, with peak, gray coat trowgers. snd vest. Description oT KATTIE CRIMPTON, native place unknown, whoymjKs charged with having, on the 28th day of November, 1891, in the barony of Imokilly, parish of St. Mary's, Youghal, stolen a lady's silver Geneva watch, with flowers engraved on outside, No. 110,594, and gold chain, with two gold lockets attached, the chain was broken at the catch, and . tied with thread, all value £ 3; also three bait sovereign and 13s. in silver, taken from the house of one J. Evans:— Mark of sore on back of one hand ; gray eye*, regular nose, fair complexion, round full face, stont make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, brown hair; wore a black bat and feathers, plain black dress, with rows of braid, bine jacket, napped, with two side pockets ; speaks with a Dublin accent; very fond of speaking about clergymen, and says she has brothers priests, and sisters nuns. Description of EDWARD WATSON, native of High Broughton, Manchester, who stands charged with having, on the 30th day of September, 1891, in the barony of Bsrrymore, parish of Templerobin, stolen the sum of £ 9 8s. 3d., tbe moneys of Herbert Ravenscroft, Lieutenant 1st Batt. Manchester Regi- ment ; and also with having embezzled about £ 8, moneys of Military Canteen at Rocky Island, Cork Harbour:— Has lost front tooth in upper jaw, blue eyes, reddish nose, fresh complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, abtmt 24 years of age, fair moustache and hair; wore a hard low hat dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a sergeant 1st Batt. Manchester Regiment. Left Rocky Island in uniform about 9.30 p. m., and Qnesnstown by 11 p. m. train, 30th September, dressed in new dark tweed suit. Warrant issued. Queenstown, 3rd Oct., 1891. Description of SAMUEL SCOTT, native of Belfast, who stands charged with having, on the 12th day of November, 1891, in the barony of Lower Iveagh, npper half, parish of Moira, robbed one George Bar- racks :— Gray eyes, long nose, fair oomplexion, round face, stout m ake, 6 feet 11 inches high, about 39 years of age, fair hair; wore a black cap, black coat, brown tweed trowsers, and black vest; is a tramp. He is at present in Belfast Gaol, having been committed for trial at Winter Assizes, but may have committed offences elsewhere. Banbridge, 15th Nov., 1891.. Cut mark on back of haad, scar on ri^ ht bretst, northern accent; gray eyes, medium no'e, sallow complexion, round fice, stout mate, 5 feat 8 Inches high, about 31 years of age, light brown hair; wore a black turban smoking cap, asylum uniform, gray tweed coat, trowers, and vest s coat has scarlet collar and scarlet stripa down back, and other red stripes, trowsers has also red stripes; is a shopkeeper, em- ployed as baker in asylum. 2. Varicose veins in left leg and thigh, good- looking, wears a brown moustache; vwy prominent brown eyes, ordinary nose, ruddy complexion, round fa -. e, stout make, 6 feet high, about 32 years of age, brown hair ; wore a cloth travelling cap, brown colour, with peak; asylum uniform, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; coat has scarlet collar and sewlat stripe down bacfc, and other red stripes, trowsers has also red stripes; is a tobacco spinner. Galway Description of MICHAEL KELLY, native of Windfield Upper, who stands charged with having, on tbe 1st day of December, 1891, in tfce barony of Tiaquin, patish of Killoscobe, seriously assaulted one Denis Carey, by striking him or. the head with a stone and endangering his life :— Walks erect; gray eyes, ordinary nose, pale complexion, long full face, stout make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark- brown hair; wore a soft slouched hat, frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, twaod vest; is a farmers's son. Description of KATE KEARNS, native of county Mayo, who stands charged with having, on the 1st day of November, 1891. in the barony of Galway, parish of St. Nicholas, wilfully and unld, wfully abandoned, and exposed her male infant child, a fortnight _ old, whereby its life was endangered:— Slightly pock pitted, black eyes, regular nose, swarthy complexion, stout make, 5 feet S or 4 inches high, about 32 years of age, black hair; wore a black shawl and an old white calico dress, flounced and puckered behind, wore no boots nor shoes; is a domestic servant. Description of a woman, unknown ( supposed to be ANASTASIA M'DONNELL), native place un- known, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of November, 1891, in the city of Kilkenny, parish of St Mary's, forged a cheque for £ 50, which she tendered in payment for shop gcods:— Has the appearance of a country woman, slow manner of speaking; fresh complexion, soft round face, stout make, about 5 feet high, about 30 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark blown or black shawl, brown plush jacket, black dress, no head dress. JOHN BURKE, ( larceny), Hue- and- Cry, 8th September, not arrested. ( 10080 90906.) Limerick. Description of JOHN GRIMLEY, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 4th October, 1891, in the barony of Borough of Limerick, parish of St. John's, stolen a coat and trowsers and a sum of about twenty- five or twenty- six shillings, the property of gunner John Johnston, Royal Artillery:— Cicatrix inner side of left knee and leg, tattoo marks on back and front of both forearms; gray eyes, fresh complexion, 5 feet 8£ inches high, about 21 years of age, dark brown bair. This man deserted from the 69th Field Battery, Royal Artillery, at Limerick, on the 4th of October, 1891, and may be wearing the clothes which he stole, which are of the following description, dark tweed coat and irowsers. Warrant in hands of District Inspector at L; merick. Limerick, 24th Oct,, 1891. ( 12273 c.— 94592.) WILLIAM FITZGERALD ( charged with murder) Hue- and- Cry, 12th May, has not been arrested. Description of JOHN PURCELL, native of Mona- mondra, Qoeen's County, who stands charged with having, on tho 14th October, 1891, at Ballycleary, in the barony of Upperwoods, parish of Offerlane, stolen the sum of 10s. from his master :— Light brown eyes, hooked nose, sandy complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 36 years of age, thin sandy beard, sandy hair; wore a soft black hat, dark morning coat, and barracan trowsers, no vest; is a tramping labourer. A Warrant is in hands of Police at Castletown for this man's arrest. Mountrath, 25th Oct., 1891. ( 12274 c— 94593. Roscommon. JOHN DALY ( homicide), Hue- and- Cry, 22nd May, has not been arrested. Description of ROBERT SLEATOR ( mother's surname Foster), native of Behey. who stands charged with having, on tho 17th day of October, 1891, in the barony of Tirerrill, parish of Ballysodare, stolen an iron gate, value £ 3, the property of John Coleman, Collooney:— Small fair nous tact e, gray or blue eye*, slightly hooked note, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a black hard hat, tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, sometimes wears an overcoat^ Newmarket make; is a farmer's son; served in the R. I. C. This man was bailed to take his trial for said offence at Riverstown Petty Sessions on 28th ult., but failed to surrender to his recognizances. Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the District Inspector at Collooney. Collooney, 1st Nov., 1891. ( 12278 c._ 94846.) Tipperary. Descriptions of PATRICK DAVERN, native of Bohernagibbons, and MICHAEL M'INERNEY ( mother's surname Duggan), native of Tipperary, who stand charged with having, on the 9th of November, 1891, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Tip- perary, seriously assaulted John Rielly, of Garryshane, by striking him with a stone on the head, from the effects of which he died on 20th November, 1891:— 1. Good- looking, active appearance, walks with a short step, gray eyes, red nose, fair complexion, round faca, stoat make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about .24 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tveed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farm labonrer. Is a returned American, arid may try to emigrate. Warrant issued, in hands of District Inspector, Tipperary. 2. Round high shoulders, short neck awkward gait, large high mouth, generally keeps his hands in his trowsers pockets; very large blue eyes, slightly cocked nose, fresh complexion, freckled face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 21 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray tweed cap, brown tweed sack coat, brown tweed trowsers, and tweed vest; is a feather plucker and labourer. Warrant for his arrest in the hands of District Inspector, Tipperary. Tipperary, 23rd Nov,, 1891. ( 12743 95465.) Description of WILLIAM BRADSHAW and DENIS BRADSHAW, brothers ( mother's surname Kearney), natives of Glengar, who stand charged with having, on the 16th cay of November, 189i, in tbe barony of Kilnamanagh Upper, parish of Toem, seri- ously assaulted one Denis Brennan, at the fair of Cappawhite, by striking him on the head with sticks and wounding him :— 1. Gray eyes, thin nose, fair complexion, rather thin face, stout make. 5 feet 8 inches high, about 26 or 27 years of age, fair hair, speaks sharp and quick ; wore a bright tweed cap, dark twead coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son. 2. Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 24 ) ears of age, fair hair; wore a hard hat, tweed coat, trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son. R., who stands charged with having, on the 22nd October, 1891, in the barony of Siievardagh, parish of Newtown, stolen the sum of £ 18 from his employer, James Whelan, of Oldcastle:— Walks with a heft^ slovenly gait; light brown eyes, slightly cooked nose, rather sallow complexion, large bold full face, stout square make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 22 or 23 years of age, fairish bar; wore a brown tweed cap with peak and earflaps tied at top, coarse brown tweed sack coat an I trowsers, dark vest; is a labourer and deserter from « rmy ; frequents Kil- kenny and Waterford. Description of MICHAFl STAPLETON ( mother's surname Pnrcell), na of Gortkelly, and TWO MEN unknown, native j'nces unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 3rd September, 1891, in the barony of Eliogarty, parish of Temple- more, seriously assaulted Sergeant Thomas Devany and Constable James Drohan, R. I. C., while in the execution of their duty :— 1. Small sandy side whiskers and moustache, good looking, blue eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 29 years of age, sandy hair; wore a soft black hat, lost in the row and now in possession of the Police, blue overcoat, and black trowsers and vest. Is a Farmer and returned American. 2. Round shoulders, fresh cat on eyebrow, blue eyes, sandy complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet high, about 34 years of age, sandy hair ; wore a soft black hat, brown tweed coat, and black trowsers and vest. 3. Fresh cut on forehead, blue eyes, yellow com plexion. round faee, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about SO years of age, fair hair; wore a soft black hat, dark tweed coat, brown trowsers, and black vest. Description of PATRICK DELANEY, native of Holycross, county Tipperary, who ftands charged with having, on the 15th day of July, 1891, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Tipperary, and town of Tipperary, when under arrest for larceny of whiskey from a dwelling, escaped from custody: Blotches on face, very sharp manner of speaking; gray eyes, very small nose, red complexion, very thin face, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark htrif turning gray; were an old tweed coat, dark trowsers, and old vest; shabby clothes, coat torn on left arm; is a tramp, Warrant for his arrest with District Inspector, Tipperary. Description of PATRICK DWYER, native of Grovestown, Dundrum, who stands charged with having, on or about the 4th June, 1891, at Ballygur- rane, in the barony of Kilnamanagh, Lower, parish Oughterleague, stolen four yearling cattle, the. pro- perty of Rhody Dwyer, off his farm at Ballygunane: — Delicate looking, stands erect, shaves all face except slight moustache, dark eyes, regular nose, darkicom- plexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 9 inchesAiigh, about 32 years of age, dark iiair; wore a brown hat with crape band, plaid sack coat, black cloth trousers, plaid vest; is a clerk. JOHN ROYCE and MICHAEL SULLIVAN ( larceny), Hae- and- Cry, 8th September, not arrested. ( 11148 c— 92603> Tyrone. Description of ANDREW M'CREA, native of Killowen, who stands charged with having, on the 9th October, 1891, in the barony of Omagh West, parish of Longfield West, fired a shot at John M'Menamin:— Shaved all his face recently except moustache, which is sandy; brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 7^ incnes high, about 28 years of age, sandy hair; is a Labourer. Warrant for arrest in the hands of Sergeant Mulcahy at Drumquin. Newtownstewart, 14th Oct.. 1891. 12193 o— 94309. Waterford. Description of THOMAS CASHEL ( mother's surname Foley), native ot' Cappoqnin, who stands charged with having, on or about the 3rd September, 1891, in the barony of Coshmore and Coshbride, parish of Lismore, stolen a letter containing a postal order for 15s. Walks with a slight stoop and swaggering gait, gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 18 years of age, fair hair; wore a light tweed cap, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a servant boy. It is probable he may have enlisted. Warrant has been issued for his arrest in hands of District Inspector, Cappoquio. Cappoquin, 23rd Oct, J89I- ( 12255 c.— 94555.) Wicklow. Description of the undernamed young offender, who. on the 23rd November, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree:— JOHN FITZPATRICK, 2252, ab. ut 17 or 18 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 5 feet 3 inches high, ordinary make, fair complexion, brown hair, hazjl eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage, small cut- mark on top of head; formerly belonged to 24, Upper Mercer- street, Dublin ; his parents reside at Goss's, 14, Aungier- street, Dublin. The school drees, all with the Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, corduroy trowsers, moleskin vest, elastic belt, and strong nailed boots. No. 2252. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of bis conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice on remand, and will reward the per sin who may capture him with £ 1. 25th November, 1891. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 23rd November, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree:— JAMES M'SHEA, 2408, about 16 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, ordinary ryake, fresh com- plexion, brown hair, brown eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary month, oval visage; cut mark on forehead ; formerly belonged to 2 or 3, Clarendon- row, Dublin; parents reside at 4, Lower Mercer- street, Dublin. The School dress,(. all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, moleskin vest, corduroy trowsers, elastic belt, strong nailed boots, No. 2408. M'Shane is the boy's real name, his brother- in- law, Joseph Walsh ( window blind maker), resides at 3, Lower Kevin- street, and his aunt, Mrs. Rafferty, who works at Jacob's, resides in Bride- street, Dublin. Toe Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture bim with £ 1. 25th November, 1891. Description of tho undernamed young offender, who, on the 23rd November, 5891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Gleacree:— MICHAEL or MALACHY FITZPATRICK, 2384, about 15 years ot age, 5 feet or 5 feet 1 iach high, ordinary make, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, ocr einoso, ordinary mouth, oval vistige, three blue dots on left arm, dot on right hand; formerly belonged to 11, Upper Domioick- screet, Dublin, where bis parents reside. Toe School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, moleskin vest, corduroy trowsers, belt, 2334, strong nailed boots, No. 2384. Particulars relative to Convict THOMAS BURNS, c. 128, convicted at the Becorder's Court, Belfast, county Antrim, on 17th February, 1887, for break- ing and entering, and larceny, and previous conviction, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 28 years of age on conviction, single, is an iron turner, born at Falls- road, Belfast, resided at Belfast before conviction; has friends residing at Divis- street, Bel- fast :—- Fair hair, gray eyes, lair eyebrows, broad nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 5£ inches high, scar on forehead, right kce.), and left breast, two dots between left thumb and finger, lost several upper teeth. This man was released on licence lrom Mountjoy Prison on 28th April, 1891, and went to Belfast. He left his residence on the 16th ult. without reporting to the Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. Description of a revolver, property of Earl de Montalt which was stolen from the dwelling- house occupied by his caretaker, John Roche, at Monroe, parish of Clonoulty, and barony of Lower Kilna- managh, on Sunday, 27th September, 1891:— A five- chambered revolver, loaded in three chambers, the words „ British Bulldog " and " Hawarden," in small letters, engraved on barrel, about 6$ inches long, bluish colour, old and rusty, the barrell thick, about 3£ inches long, round on outside, four grooves on inside, a strap of metal running back from the barrell along the stock and continuing up to the trigger- guard, dark wooden stock; value for £ 1. 4th October, 1891. Description of plate, the property of Ardnurcher Parish, which was stolen from the Protestant Church at Horseleap, parish of Ardnurcher, barony of Moy- cashel, on the 28th or 29th day of August, 1891, probably by tinkers:— One large flagon, supposed silver, broad at bottom, tapering to top, side straight, had a lid, handle, and spout, no inscription; one chalice, gold lined, no inscription, goblet- shaped, similar to a large wine- glass, supposed silver, but may be plated; one paten, supposed silver, may be plated, has a raised bottom of about two inches, size of a breakfast plate, inscribed" Ardnurcher Church "; one alms- dish, v ry small, silver, quite flat, with a rim, inscribed " Horse- leap Church, 1806.
