TioKrs. jp~ All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated, by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been. Sworn ; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged' with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. *** Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, & c., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry" no longer necessary. Description of JAMES IRWIN, native of Cough, who dtsnds charged with having, on the 20th Novem- ber, 1891, in the barony of Lower Glenarm, parish of Layde, stolen three heifers, the property of Rose Mooney and Francis M'Auley;— War, ts a tooth in lefc side upper jaw, walks stiff as if feet sore, tnrns out his toes; gray eyes, regu'ar nose, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age, sandy hair ; wore a brown hard felt low bat, brown faded coat, cordnroy trowsers, and dark vest; is a labourer. DE COBAIN, native of Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross indecency with another male person, and within the same time, and at the place aforesaid did incite divers other male persons to commit sodomy:— Walks erect, square shoulders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when speaking,^ ar^ y ejjs, regular nose, pale complexion, full face, ft^ tjKake, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a silk hat, black Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest; is a Member of Parliament. Warrar t in hands of District Inspeetor, Detective Departmert, Belfast, to whom information should be sent. NOTE,— Arrest cannot be legally made without Warrant. Belfast, 15th April, 1891. Carlow, Description of PATRICK CUMMINS ( mother's surname Neill, native of Bagnalstown, who stands charged with having, on the 9th day of July, 1891, in the barony of Idrone East, pariah of Dunleckney, seriously assaulted one Patrick Whelan, by stabbing him with a knife. This man was bailed to take his trial for said offence at Carlow Quarter Sessions, on 22na inst., but failed to surrender to his recognizance:— Light cut mark over left eye and on right thumb, gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, stout active make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 26 years of age, fair hair, hair grows thin on face, shaves seldom; wore a round black cap, with peak, gray coat, trowsers, end ve3t. Description of JOHN O'BRIEN, native of Scariff, county Clare, who stands charged with having, on the 21st day of November, 1891. in the barony of Tulla Lower, parish of Killalce, stolen £ i 1 the property of his employer, Joseph Hayes, of Coole, coanty Tipperary, N. R.:— Dark brown eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, broad facs, stout make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a gray cap, gray tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, and gray tweed vest; is a jockeys he is believed to be seen in the county Galway, E. Description of EDWARD WATSON, native of High Broughton, Manchester, who stands charged with having, on the 30th day of September, 1891, in the barony of Burrymore, parish of Templerobin, stolen the sum of £ 9 rt*. Sd., the moneys of Herbert Ravenscroft, Lieutenant 1st Batt. Manchester Regi- ment} and also with having embezzled abont £ 8, moneys of Military Canteen at Rocky Island, Cork Harbour:— Has lost front tooth in upper jaw, blue eyes, reddish nose, fresh complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair moustache and hair; wore a hard low hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a sergeant 1st Batt. Manchester Regiment. Left Rocky Island in uniform abont 9.30 p. m., and Queenstown by 11 p. m. train, 30th September, dressed in new dark tweed suit. Warrant issued. Queenstown, 3rd Oct., 1891. Description of SAMUEL SCOTT, native of Belfast, who stands charged with having, on the 12th day of November, 1891, in the barony of Liwer Iveagh, upper half, parish of Moira, robbed one George Bar- racks :— Gray eyei, long nose, fair complexion, round face, stout ir ake, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 39 years of age, fair hair; woro a black cap, black coat, brown tweed trowsers, and black vest } is a tramp. He is at present in Belfast Gaol, having been committed for trial at Wintor Assizes, but may have committed offences elsewhere. Banbridge, 15th Nov., 1891. ( 12606 c— 95230.) Galway. Description of KATE KEARNS, native of county Mayo, who stands charged with having, on the 1st day of November, 1891. in the barony of Galway, parish of St. NichoIas, wilfully and unlawfully abandoned, and exposed her male infant child, a fortnight old, whereby its life was endangered:— Slightly pockpitted, black eyes, regular nose, swarthy complexion, stout make, 5 feet 8 or 4 inches high, about 32 years of age, black hair; wore a bla k shawl and an old white calico dress, flounced and puckered behind, wore no boots nor shoes; is a domestic servant. Information sworn and Warrant issued, and is in the hands of District Inspector at Galway. Galway, 2nd Nov., 1891. Description of a woman, unknown ( supposed to be ANASTASIA M'DONNELL), native place un- known, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of November, 1891, in the city of Kilkenny, parish of St. Mary's, forged a cheque for £ 50, which the tendered in payment for shop goods:— Has the appearance of a country woman, slow manner of speaking} fresh complexion, soft round face, stout make, about 5 feet high, about 30 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark brown or black shawl, brown plush jacket, black dress, no head dress. Description of JOHN GRIMLEY, native place unknown, who stand* charged with having, on the 4th October, 1891, in the barony of Borough of Limerick, parish of St. John's, stolen a ccat and trowsers and a sum of about twenty- five or twenty- six shillings, the property of gunner John Johnston, Royal Artillery:— Cicatrix inner side of left knee and lep-, tattoo marks on back and front of both forearms 5 gray eyes, fresh complexion, 5 ieet inches high, about 2 I years of age, dark brown hair. This man deserted from the 69th Field Battery, Royal Artillery, at Limerick, on the 4th of October, 1891, and may be wearing the clothes which he stole, which are of the following description, dark tweed coat and trowsers. Description of JOHN PURCELL, native of Mona- mondra, Queen's County, who stands charged with having, on the 14th October, 1891, at Ballycleary, in the barony cf Upperwoods, parish of Offerlane, stolen the inn of 10s. from his master :— Light brown eyes, hooked nose, sandy complexion, thin face, medium malte, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 36 years of age, thin sandy beard, sandy hair; wore a soft black hat, dark morning coat, and barracan trowsers, no vest; is a tramping labourer. A Warrant is in hands of Police at Castletown for this man's arrest. Mountrath, 25th Oct., 1891. ( 12274 c.— 94593. Roscommon. JOHN DALY ( homicide), flue- and- Cry, 22nd May, has not been arrested. Description of ROBERT SLEATOR ( mother's surname Foster), native of Behey, who stands charged with having, on the 17th day of October, 1891, in the barony of Tirerrill, parish of Ballysodare, stolen an iron gate, value £ 3, the property of John Coleman, Collooney:— Small fair mouatache, gray or blue eyes, slightly hooked note, fair complexion, th'n face, medinm make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a black hard hat, tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, sometimes wears an overcoat, Newmarket make; is a farmer's son; served in the R I. C. This man was bailed to take bis trial for said offence at Riverstown Petty Sessions on 28th nit., but failed to surrender to his recognizances. Warrant for bis arrest is in the hands of the District Inspector at Collooney. Collooney, 1st Nov., 1891. ( 12278 c.— 94846.) Tipperary. Description of PATRICK DAVERN, native of Bohernagibbons, who stands charged with having, on the 9th of November, 1891, in the barony of Clan- william, parish of Tipperary, seriously assaulted one John Rielly, by striking him with a stone on the head, from the effects of which 1 e died on 20th instant:— Good- looking, active appearance, walks with a short step, gray eyes, rid nos<\ fair complexion, round feci, stoet make, 5 leet 10 inches high, about 24 years of age, lair hair 5 wore a dark t* eed coat, trowsers, and vest ; is a farm labourer. Is a returned American, and may try to emigrate. Warrant issued, in hands of D! trict Inspector, Tipperary. Tipperary, 23rd Nov., 1891. ( 12743 95465.) Dercript'on of WILLIAM BRADSHAW and DENIS BRADSHAW, brothers ( mother's surname Kearney, natives of Glengar, who stand charged with having, on the 16th day of November, 189 •, in the barony of Kilnamanagh Upper, parish of Toem, seri- ously assaulted one Denis Brennan, at the fair of Cappawhite, by striking him on the head with sticks t. rd wounding him :— 1. Gray eyes, thin nose, fair complexion, rather thin tace, stout make 5 feet 8 indies high, about 26 < r 27 yean of age, fair hair, speaks sharp and quick ; were a briglt tweed cap, dark tweed coat, t oweers, and vest; is a farmer's son. 2. Gray eyes, regular nosi, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 ie* t 7 er 8 inche? high, about 24 years of age, fair hair; wore a hard hat, tweed coat, trowsers ard vest; is a farmer's son. Warrants issued for their arrest. Dundrum, 26ih Nov, 1891. ( 12810 c.— 95572.) Description of MICHAEL M'INERNEY ( mothers surname Duggan), native of Tipprrary, who stands charged with having, on the 9th of November, 1891, in the barony of Clanwilliam pwish of Tippersry, seriously assaulted John Rielly, of Garryshane, by striking him with a stone on the head, from the effects of which he died on 20th November, 1891:— Round high shoulders, short neck, awkward gait, large high mouth, generally keeps his hands in his trowsers pocket); very large blue eyes, slightly cocked nose, fresh complexion, freckled feestout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 21 years of age, fair hair ; wore a gray tweed cap, brown tweed aack coat, brown tweed trowsers, and tweed veit ; is a feather plucker ar d labourer. Warrant for his arrest in the hands of District Inspector, Tipperary. Tipperary, 21st Nov., 1891. ( 12743 c.— 95465.) Description of JAMES BRIEN, alias BRIEN THE RAKE ( mother's surname Power), native of Tip- peraTy, S. R., who stands charged with having, on the 22nd October, 1891, in the barony of Slievardagh, parish of Newtown, stolen the sum of £ 18 from his employer, James Whelan, of Oldcastle:— Walks with a heavy slovenly gait; light brown eyes, slightly cocked nose, rather sallow complexion, large bold full face, stout square make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 22 or 23 years of age, fairish hair; wore a brown tweed cap with peak and ear flips tied at top, coarse brown tweed sack coat and trowsers, dark vest; is a labourer and deserter from army ; frequents Kil- kenny and Waterford. Warrant issued for his arrest. Carrick- on- Suir, 24th Oct., 1891. ( 12262 c.— 94576.) Description of MICHAEL STAPLETON ( mother's surname Purcell), native of Gortkelly, and TWO MEN unknown, native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 3rd September, 1891, in the barony of Eliogarty, parish of Temple- more, seriously assaulted Sergeant Thomas Devany and Constable James Drohan, R. I. C., while in the execution of their duty :— 1. Small sandy side whiskers and moustache, good looking, blue eyes, regular nos;>, pale complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches bigh, about 29 years of age, sandy hair; wore a soft black hat, lost ia the row and now in possession of the Police, blue overcoat, and black trowsers and vest. Is a Farmer and returned American. 2. Round shoulders, fresh cut on eyebrow, blue eyes, sandy complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet high, about 34 years of age, sandy hair ; wore a soft black hat, brown tweed coat, and black trowsers and vest. 3. Fresh cut on forehead, blue eyes, yellow com- plexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a soft black hat, dark tweed coat, brown trowsers, and black vest. Warrant issued for arrest of No. 1. Templemore, Sth Sept., 1891. ( 11494 0.- 93169.) Description of PATRICK DELANEY, native of Holycross, county Tipperary, who stands charged with having, on ihe 15th day of July, 1891, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Tipperary, and town of Tipperary, when under arrest for larceny of whiskey from a dwelling, escaped from custody: Blotches on face, very sharp manner of speaking; gray eyes, very small nose, red complexion, very thin ) ace, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair turning gray; were an old tweed coat, dark trowsers, and old vest; shabby clothes, coat torn on left arm; is a tramp, Warrant for his arrest with District Inspector, Tipperary. Description of PATRICK DWYER, native of Grovestown, Dundrum, who stands charged with having, on or about the 4th June. 1891, at Ballygur- rane, in the barony of Kilnamanagh, Lower, parish of Oughterleague, stolen four yearling cattle, the pro- perty of Rhody Dwyer, off his farm at Ballygurrane: — Delicate looking, stands erect, shaves all face except slight moustache, dark eyes, regular nose, dark com- plexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 32 years of age, dark heir; wore a brown hat with crape band, plaid sack coat, black cloth trousers, plaid vest; is a clerk. Description of ANDREW M'CREA, native of Killowen, who stands charged with having, on the 9th October, 1891, ia the barony of Omagh West, parish of Longfield West, fired a shot at John M'Menamin:— Shaved all his face recently except moustache, which is sandy; brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 7^ incnes bigh, about 28 years of age, sandy hair; is a Labourer. Warrant for arrest in the hands of Sergeant Mulcahy at Drumquin. Newtownstewart, 14th October, 1891. 12193 c.— 94309. Waterford. Description of THOMAS CASHEL ( mother's surname Foley), native of Cappoquin, who stands charged with having, on or about the 3rd September, 1891, in the barony of Coshmore and Coshbride, parish of Lismore, stolen a letter containing a postal order for 15 « . : — Walks with a slight stoop and swaggering gait, gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 18 years e- f age, fair hair; wire a light tweed cap, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a servant boy. It is probable he may have enlisted. Warrant has been issued for his arrest in hands of District Inspector, Cappoquin. Cappoquin, 23rd Oct, 1891. ( 12255 c.— 94555.) Wicklow. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 23rd November, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree:— PETER M'NAMARA, 2231, about 17 or 18 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, ordinary make, fair complexion, dark hair, gray eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage; formerly belonged to 4, Purdon- street, Dublin; parents reside at 30, Benburb- street, Dublin. The School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, moleskin vest, corduroy trousers, elast'c belt, strong nailed boots, No. 2231. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arretted, to the near- est Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who mav capture him with £ 1. 25th November, 1391. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 23rd November, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencroe:— JOHN FITZPATRICK, 2252, about 17 or 18 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 5 feet 3 inches high, ordinary make, fair complexion, brown hair, hazel eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage, small cut- mark on top of head; formerly belonged to 2 » , Upper Mercer- street, Dublin ; his parents reside at Goss's, 14, Aungier street, Dublin. The school dreis, all with the Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, corduroy trowsers, moleskin vest, elastic bait, and strong nailed boots, No. 2252. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of bis conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice on remand, and will reward the porsjn who may capture him with £ 1. 25th November, 1891. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 23rd November, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree :— JAMES M'SHEA, 2408, about 16 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, ordinary make, fresh com- plexion, brown hair, brown eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary month, oval visage; cut mark on forehead ; formerly bel nged to 2 or 3, Clarendon- row, Dublin; parents reside at 4, Lower Mercer- street, Dublin. The School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), « corduroy jacket, moleskin vest, corduroy trowseis, elastic belt, strong nailed boots, No. 2408. M'Shane is the boy's real nBme, his brother- in- law, Joseph Walsh ( window blind maker), resides at 3, Lower Kevin- street, and his aunt, Mrs. Rafferty, who works at Jacob's, resides in Bride- street, Dublin. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his cr nveyance, it arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. 25th November, 1891. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 23rd November, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree:— MICHAEL or MALACHY FITZPATRICK, 2384, abont 15 years of age, 5 feet or 5 feet 1 inch high, ordinary mako, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, cocked nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage, three hue dots on left arm, dot on right hand; formerly belonged to 11, Upper Dominick- street, Dublin, where his parents resie'e. The School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, moleskin vest, oorduroy trjwsers, belt, 2334, strong nailed boots, No. 2384. Particulars relative to Convict THOMAS BURNS, 0. 128, convicted at the Recorder's Court, Belfast, county Antrim, en 17th February, J 837, for break- ing and entering, and larceny, and previous conviction, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 28 years of ape on conviction, single, is an iron turner, born at Falls- road, Belfast, resided at Belfast before conviction; has friends residing at Divis- street, Bel- fast :— Fair hair, gray eyes, fair eyebrows, broad nose, medinm mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 5J inches high, scar on forehead, right knee, and le't breast, two dots between left thumb and finger, lost several upper teeth. This man was released cn licence from Monntjoy Prison on 28th April, 1891, end went to Belfast. He left his residence on the 16th nit. without reporting to the Police, and his present whereabonts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with nnder sec. 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 5th November, 1891. ( 437 H. Description of three heifers, the property of Francis M'Aulay and Rose Mooney, which were stolen fr m the lands of Glassmullen, pariah of Leyde, barony of Lower Glenarm, on 20th day of ^ vember, 1891 :— 1. Gray or mouse colour, having a little white under the pasterns of both hind legs, no horns, 1} years old, and value for £ 4. 2. Dark roan colour, with short corked horns, years old, and value for £ 4 10s. 3. White with ydlow neck and a little yellow on belly, and value for £ i ts. Dark yellow colour with a small white spot on face, also small white spot on right kidney, with some angleberries on the belly near the sheath, horr s short and turned inwards, years old. 2. Description of a mare, the property of Jeremiah Ryan, which either strayed or was stolen from the lands of Cromwell, parish of Ballinlough, barony of Small County, on the night of 1st or morning of 2nd day of November, 1891 :— Dark bay mare, 14J hands high, two hind legs and one fore leg white at fetlocks, white stripe on forehead down to nose, small white spot on right side of neck, in good condition, about 12 years af age, waa nearly blind in bcth eyes, but not discernible cn looking at the eyes; value for £ 3. Description of a revolver, property of Earl de Montalt which was stolen from the dwelling- house occupied by his caretaker, John Roche, at Monroe, parish of Clonoulty, and barony of Lower Kilna- macagh, on Sunday, 27th September, 1891:— A five- chambered revolver, loaded in three chambers, the words „ British Bulldog" and " Hawarden," in small letters, engraved on barrel, about 6 J inches long, bluish colour, old and rusty, the barrell thick, about 3$ inches long, round on outside, four grooves on inside, a strap of metal running back from the barrell along the stock and continuing up to the trigger- guard, dark wooden stock i value for £ 1. 4th October, l » 9l. Westmeath. / Description of plate, the property of Ardnurcher Parish, which was stolen from the Protestant Chnrch at Horseleap, parish of Ardnurcher, barony of Moy- cashel, on the 28th or 29th day of August, 1891, probably by tinkers:— One large flagon, supposed silver, broad at bottom, tapering to top, side straight, had a lid, handle, and spout, no inscription; one chalice, gold lined, no inscription, goblet- shaped, similar to a large wine- glass, supposed silver, but may be plated; one paten, supposed silver, may be plated, has a raised bottom of about two inches, size of a breakfast plate, inscribed" Ardnurcher Church "; one alms- dish, very small, silver, quite flat, with a rim, inscribed " Horse- leap Church, 1806.
