Tiois'i All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn • but it is not neceasurr to forward the Informations to the Inspector- GeneraL 1- 001* 17 Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a " Warrant has been Issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of thk nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. v Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears as without tfcfo Information the mistake cannot be rectified. . ' Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, 4c., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description of WILLIAM JOHN SCOTT, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 28th September, 1891, at Portrush, in the barony of Lower Dunluce, parish of Ballywillin, when under arrest for larceny of clothing, assaulted Constable William Buchanan, and escaped from custody:— Dark brown eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, thin faca, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a faded gray tweed coat, gray tweed trowsors and vest; is a tramp, sings in towns, and served in the militia. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 11th September, 1891, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School at Belfast :— HUGH BELL, 16 years of age, brown hair, brown eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose, large mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, stout make, 4 feet 10 inches high, scrofula marks on left side of neck, chicken- chested ; is a farm boy; formerly belonged to Clifton- street, Belfast, where he was born; his parents reside at 86, Boundry- street; bis uncle, George Bell, Farmer, lives at Ballykeel, Dromore, county Down. Dressed when he absconded in a Glengarry cap, dark tweed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blue and white striped shirt, red and black check tie, Blucher boots, and woollen stockings. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice on remand, and will reward the person who ' Oftf capture him with £ 1. jVth September, 1891. DE COBAIN, native of Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross indecency with another male person, and within the same time, and at the place aforesaid did incite divers other male persons to commit sodomy:— Walks erect, square shoulders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when speaking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark brown hair 5 wore a silk hat, black Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest; is a Member of Parliament. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Detective Department, Belfast, to whom information should be sent. NOTE— Arrest cannot be legally made without Warrant. Belfast, 15th April, 1891. Carlow. Description of EDWARD WATSON, native of High Broughton, Manchester, who stauds charged with baring, on the 30th day of September, 1891, in the barony of Berrymore, parish of Templerobin, stolen the sum of £ 9 rtj. 3d., the moneys of Herbert Ravenscroft, Lieutenant 1st Batt. Manchester Regi- ment; and also with having embezzled about £ 8, moneys of Military Canteen at Rocky Island, Cork Harbour:— Has lost front tooth in uppar jaw, blue eyes, reddish nose, fresh complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair moustache and hair; wore a bard low hat. dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest j is a sergeant 1 st Batt. Description of WILLIAM WILSON, cative of Belfast, who stands charged with having, on the 21st September, 1891, in the barony of Upper Castlereagh, parish of Drumbo, stolen a suit of clothes, a pair of shoes, a cap, and £ 3 in single notes, from the dwelb'ng- house of one John Bourke, and with having broken out therefrom:— Sore on back of right hand, scab on left cheek, red cheeks, stoppage in speech, blue eyes, sharp nose, fresh complexion, fresh face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 26 years of age, very fair hair; wore a blue cap, dark tweed coat, striped tweed trowsers, and dark tweed vest, Lome shoes, being the clothes stolen; is a labourer. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 20th September, 1891, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School at King's County :— WILLIAM LAWLER, No. 1171, 19 years of age, about 5 feet inches high, medium make, fresh complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage; three dots, cross, and small stroke 6n left arm, scald on back of head ; formerly belonged to Dublin; his mother, Jane Lawler, resides at 3, Ranelagh- avenue, Dublin. The drets consists of:— Black hard felt hat, mole- skin trowsers, navy blue serge jacket and vest, Blucher boots. He is a good baker; he may try to hire with a baker or farmer, or he may enlist. The Manager of tha Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearoct Justice on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with 10s. 28th September, 1891. Londonderry, PATRICK DOUGAN ( assault), Hne- and- Cry, 29th September, not arrested. ( 10313 c.— 91142.) Longford. Description of PATRICK NOON, ex- convict, native place unknown, wlo stands charged with having in bis pofsession, on the 19th September, 1891, in the barony of Ardagh, parish of Temple- michael, articles of wearing apparel for which he was unable to account satisfactorily, and it is believed they have been stolen:— A man's shirt, linen breasted; 9 boys' shirts ( 8 wbito and 1 blus); 4 chemises, 2 white pocket handkerchiefs ; 5 bibs 2 large white, 1 small with lace all round end crochet work in centre; 2 email white bibs, 1 large blue bib, 3 white aprons, 1 blue check apron, 1 twilled calico towel, 2 white twilled calico pillow covers, 1 deep, blue striped apron, 2 red and white pocket handkerchiefs, 4 pair of stockings, 1 old snuff- coloured cap, 1 white calico bag, 1 blay- coloured child's bib ; all supposed to have been stolen off hedges. His description is as fol- lows :— Bald on top of head, hazel eyes, small flat nose, sallow complexion, small face, medium make, 5 feet 3 inches high, and about 69 years of age, dark bair turning gray; is a dealer. This man is remanded pending inquiries. Any information regarding his antecedents or the ownership of the clothing to be addressed to the Dis- trict Inspector. Longford, 25th Sept., 1891. Description of EUGENE MOORE, native place nnknown, who stands charged with having, on the 17th day of September, 1891, in the barony of Iffa and Offa East, parish of St. Mary's, stolen a blue waterproof overcoat, the property of Mr. John Hurley, Carrickon- Suir, which has since been recovered:— Mark of recent cut on bridge of nose, light gray eyes, shoit thick nose, dark sallow complexion, broad face, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 87 or 38 years of age, dark brown hair; is a horse trainer. Description of MICHAEL CONNELL ( mother's surname Ryan), native of Knockshanbrittas, who stands charged with buying, on the 17th September, 1891, in the barony of Kilnamanagh, Upper, parish of Doon, seriously assaulted Rodger Ryan, by striking him on the head with a stone, thereby placing his life in danger;— Marks of sore on left cheek, hardy active appearance, nose sharp, pointed, and turned to one side, narrow mouth with cocked lips, high cheek bones, gray eyes, long thin noso, fresh complexion, shaves all his face except moustache, which is clipped short, dark hair, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 31 years of age; wore a frieze frock coat, tweed trowsers end vost; is a farmer's son. Description of MICHAEL STAPLETON ( mother's surname Purcell), native of Gortkelly, and TWO MEN unknown, native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 3rd September, 1891, in the barony of Eliogarty, parish of Temple- more, seriously assaulted Sergeant Thomas Devany and Constable James Drohan, R. I. O., while in the execution of their duty :— 1. Small sandy side whiskers and moustache, good looking, blue eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches bigh, about 29 years of age, sandy hair; wore a soft black hat, lost la the row and now in possession of the Police, bine overcoat, and black trowsers and yest, Is a Farmer and returned American, 2. Bound shoulders, fresh cut on reyebrow, blue eyes, sandy complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet high, about 34 years of age, sandy hair; wore a soft black hat, brown tweed coat, and black trows ars and vest. 3, Fresh cut on forehead, blue eyes, yellow com- plexion. round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a soft black hat, dark tweed coat, brown trousers, and black vest. Description of PATRICK DELANEY, native of Holycross, county Tipperary, who stands charged with having, on the 16th day of July, 1891, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Tipperary, and town of Tipparary, when under arrest for larceny of whiskey from a dwelling, escaped from custody:— Blotches on face, very sharp manner of speaking; gray eyes, very small nose, red complexion, very thin face, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair turning gray; wore an old tweed coat, dark trowsers, and old vest; shabby clothes, coat torn on left arm ; is a tramp, Warrant for his arrest with District Inspector, Tipperary. Description of PATRICK DWYER, native of Grovestown, Dundrum, who stands charged with having, on or about the 4th June, 1891, at Ballygur- rane, in the barony of Kilnamanagh, Lower, parish of Oughterleague, stolen four yearling cattle, the pro- perty of Rhody Dwyer, off his farm at Ballygurrane: — Delicate looking, stands erect, shaves all face except slight moustache, dark eyes, regular nose, dark com- plexion, thin face, slight make, 6 feet 9 inches high, about 32 years of age, dark hair; wore a brown hat with crape band, plaid sack coat, black cloth trousers, plaid vest; is a clerk. Description of MICHAEL STACHAM ( mother's surname Byrne), and JAMES HAYES ( mother's surname Waters), natives of Seven Churches, county Wicklow, who stand charged with having, on the night of5th or morning of 6th August, 1891, in the barony of Ballinacor North, parish of Derrylossary, and county Wicklow, stolen two ssythes, the property of John Richardson and Richard Johnston, both of Laragh East:— 1. Blue eyes, regular ntoso, rather pale complexion, round face, stout make, shaves all his face which is very small, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, about 22 yearn of age, dark brown hair; wore a dark tweed coav, light tweed trowsers and vest. 2. Description of a man, supposed name BARTER, native place unknown, charged with . arceny of jewellery from lodginghouse ( for desdtiption see property stolen):— About 25 years of 5 feet 6 inches high, fair complexion, brown hair and moustache, very bright eyes coloar unknown, pointed chin, has good appearance end address; dressed in a black hard felt hat, brown tourist's suit, and lace boots. Left behind him a brown leather portmanteau fastened with a brass padlock, and a new small sized Gladstone bag, nickle lock and end fastenings, containing a small common American cloth hand- bag and two metal electric light globe ornaments, shape of tulip, an iron case opener, and a small saw in handle. War. ted, for. theft of a watch and a vest ( recovered); also a silver Albert chain, round links ( not recovered), on 2l8t current :— HUGH ANDREWS, a painter to trade, but working as a labourer, about 28 years of age, 5 foot 3 inches bigh. stout make, fresh complexion, reddish fair hair, sandy moustache, and small side whiskers ; dressed in yellow striped trowsers, blue cloth vest, heather mixture cloth jacket, light single peaked cap, and old lacing boots. His wife is said to reside in South Side, Glasgow, and he is said to have been g member of a Good Templar Lodge in that district. ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY. 1 Kildare. * Description of articles of clothing, the property of £ Thomas Dunne, which were stolen out of his house at Freigh, parish of Kilmore, barony of Carbury, on 12th September, 1891, viz.:— A brown tweed coat and tro wears, also a waistcoat, a pair of light laced boots, a round brown striped tweed jacket, and a brown narrow cross- barred tweed trowsers; all value for about £ 3. Description of articles, the property of Bridget Flynn, which were stolen from her dwellinghouse, at Woodtown, parish of Culmullen, barony of Upper Deece, on the 18th day of August, 1891 :— One dark frock coat, one light - coloured vest, one dark gray trowsers, one striped necktie, two old white single blankets, one calico sheet, one bag containing some groceries, and a two- shilling piece; value £ 1 10*. Description of a revolver, property of Earl de Montalt which was stolen from the dwelling- house occupied by his caretaker, John Roche, at Monroe, parish of Clonoulty, and barony of Lower KUna- maaagh, on Sunday, 27th September, 1891:— A five chambered revolver, loaded in three chambers, the words „ British Bulldog " and " Hawarden," in small letters, engraved on barrel, about 6£ inches long, bluish colour, old and rusty, the barrell thick, about inches long, round on outside, four grooves on inside, a strap of metal running back from the barrell along the stock and continuing up to the trigger- guard, dark wooden stock ; value for £ 1. 4th October, 1891. Description of plate, the property of Ardnurcher Parish, which was stolen from the Protestant Church at Horseleap, parish of Ardnurcher, barony of Moy- cashel, on the 28th or 29th day of August, 1891, probably by tinkers:— One large flagon, supposed silver, broad at bottom, tapering to top, side straight, had a lid, handle, and spout, no inscription; one chalice, gold lined, no inscription, goblet- shaped, similar to a large wine- glass, supposed • silver, but may be plated; one paten, supposed silver, may bo plated, has a raised bottom of about two inches, size of a breakfast plate, inscribed" Ardnurcher Church"; one alms- dish, very small, silver, quite flat, with a rim, inscribed " Horse-, leap Church, 1806.
