TIOjVB. -- Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn j but it is not neceawr . to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose Apprehension is sought on a charge of . Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a " Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears as without thia Information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison ajid Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of th « abolition of Gaols, Stations, io., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry" no longer necessary. DE COBAIN, native of Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross indecency with another male person, and within the same time, and at the place aforesaid did incite divers other male persons to commit sodomy:— Walks erect, square shoulders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when speaking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, full iace, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a silk hat, black Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest; is a Member of Parliament. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Detective Department, Belfast, to whom information should be sent. NOTE— Arrest cannot be legally made without Warrant. Belfast, 15th April, 1891. Carlow. MICHAEL TIMMINS ( serious assault), Hue- and- Cry, 23rd June, not arrested. ( 8204 c—- 88166.) Cavan. Description of PATRICK O'HARA alias JAMES KELLY, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 7th August, 1891, in the barony of Tullygarvey, parish of Drumgoon, been found under m « - picious c rcumstances, ar. d failed to answer satisfactorily for the possession of five pawn tickets for watches which he pawned in Cavan, under the name of James Kelly, and one brace and bit, which he pawned in Cootehill, under the name of Pat O'Hara:— Diminutive appearance, right shoulder dislocated so as to cause a hump, short neck, bald on top of head; small dark eyes, sharp nose, dark sallow • complexion, long face, slight make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 46 years of age, dark brown hair and moustache, turning gray ; wore a dark stuff coat, dark trowsera and vest; fs a tramp, looks liVe a tailor. This man is suspected of having committed burglaries or larcenies elsewhere, and is remanded for inquiries to 15th instant. Any information to be addressed to District Inspector, Bailieboro'. Bailieboro', 9th Aug., 1891. ( 10992 c— 92348.) Cork. Description of TIMOTHY DRISCOLL, native of Drimoleague, who stands charged with having, on the 7th and 8th June, 1891, in the barony of E. D. W. Carbery, parish of Drimoleague, attacked the dwell- ing- house of Denis M'Carthy, ol Bownahulla, by tl rowing stones at it, which broke three panes of glass, one of the stones which were thrown striking Denis M'Carthy in the face and wounding him :— Gray eyes, regular nose, dark sallow complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 27 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a gray cap, gray tweed coat, brown trousers, gray tweed vest; is a labourer. Donegal Description of THOMAS FERRY, native of Derry City, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd day of June, 1891, in the barony of Raphoe, parish of Killed, committed a rape on Margaret Rankin, of Kildrum:— Square shoulders, walks erect, dark mou stache, dark eyes, straight nose, long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair cut short; wore a tweed cap, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer; a returned Ameri- can. Description of JOHN KELLY, native of Drapers- town, county Londonderry, who stands charged with having, on the 1st May, 1891, at Barnesgap Hut, in the barony of Kilmacrenan, parish of Kilmacrenan, attempted to poison Sergeant James Maher :— Speaks slowly and with a slight drawl, straight build and active appearance, piercing brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, long red face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 27 years of age, dark hair; wore a light tweed two- peaked cap, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, or may be wearing knickerbocker tweed suit; is a constable, R. I. Constabulary. He stood out on bail to appear at Lifford Quarter Sessions to answer the charge, but failed to do so. Letterkenny, 20th June, 1891. ( 9039 c.— 89825.) Description of PATRICK DOUGLAS alias M'PARLAND ( mother's surname M'Parland), and JOHN DEVLIN ( mother's surname M'Parland), natives of Loughbrickland, who stand charged with having, on the night of 30th June or morning of 1st July, 1891, in the barony of Iveagh Upper, upper half, parish of Seapatrick, broken into an unoccupied dwelling- house of Catherine Quinn, Tullyear, and stolen sundry articles of furniture and a suit of men's clothing, all of which have bean recovered :— 1. Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a bluish cap, dark twee! jacket, Windsor cord trowsers, and dark tweed vest; is a farm labourer, and served in the Army. 2. Walks with a swaggering gait, and hoMs down his head, blue eyes, slightly cocked nose, freckled com- plexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair hair, shaves all his face except a small fair moustache; wore a brown tweed cap, brown tweed jacket, moleskin trowsers, and brown tweed vest; is a farm labourer. Warrant issued, and in hands of D. I, Banbridge. Banbridge, 5th July, 1891. ( 10276 c.— 91079.) Description of a MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 27th June, 1891, in the barony of Lower Castlereagh, parish of Holywood, stolen from the dwelling- house of James M'Bride, one oblong gold brooch set with rubies, one square gold brooch with hair in it, a gold oval locket, hair inside, gold breast- pin, set with a ruby, and a silver medal, marked " Good Conduct" s— Sallow complexion, sunburnt face, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard round felt hat, red necktie and no collar, dark coat, trowsers, and vest, hoots turned up at toes, steel watch guard ; has a tramping appearance. Description of Corporal JAMES BALLANCE, Royal Engineers, native of Chapelizod, oounty Dublin - where his mother resides, who stands charged with having, on the 11th June, 1891, in the barony of Trughenackmy, parish of Tralee, stolen a theodolite, 5- inch, No. 197, and marked with letters " W. D.," and enclosed in a mahogany case, also a sum of £ 22 8s. 9 d., the property of Her Majesty;— Well set- up, smart military appearance, shaves all his face except moustache which is brown, hazel eyes, clear complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark brown hair. Description of HUGH WARD, native of Raphoe, county Donegal, who stands charged with having, on the 4th June, 1891, in the barony of Irraghticonnor, parish of Kilnaughtin, embezzled a sum of money received by him for his master, John Cohoon, of Rathkeale, county Limerick:— Blue eyes, regular nose, frcckled complexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark red curly hair; wore a black hat, dark tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest, carries Inverness waterproof coat} is a tea van driver. Description of a MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd day of August, 1891, in the barony of Gowran, parish of St. John's, committed a rape on Ellen Monck, of Kilkenny:— May have marks of bites on hands ot fingers, reddish complexion, red full face, stout make, i feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 28 years of age, dark hair; wore a round black felt hat, dark tweed coat, and dark vest; supposed to be a militiaman. Description of JOHN BURKE, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of June, 1891, in the barony of Ballybritt, parish of Birr, stolen a lady's silver Geneva watch and silver Albert chain, and also a suit of dark tweed clothes, which he is supposed to be wearing— be may pawn the watch:— Visible cut- marks on head and about eyes and nose, four teeth out of left side of mouth, gray eyes, broad nose, fresh complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 27 years of age, dark hair, dark moustache; wore a hard black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a private, York and Lancaster Regiment. Description of PATRICK DOUGAN ( mother's sur- name O'Neill) native of Rocktown, who stands charged with having, on the 29th day of June, 1891, in the barony of Loughinshollin, parish of Maghera, com- mitted an aggravated assault upon one Robert Porter:— Shaves all his face except moustache, which is dark and cut short i dark eyes, regular nose, dark com- Slexion, full face, stoat make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches igh, about 23 years of age, dark hair; wore a darkish gray coat, dark trowsers and vest, and hard black nat; is a farm labourer. Description of THOMAS ROONEY, native of Killybearn, who stands charged with having, on the 16th May, 1891, in the barony of Lough insholin, parish of Derryloran, committed ( with others made amenable) an aggravated assault on one Alexander Hagan:— High cheek bones, good- looking, dark eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 23 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark tweed coat, gray trowsers, and dark tweed vest; is a farmer's son. Description of JOSEPH BROWN, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 4th day of August, 1891, in the barony of Drogheda, parish of St. Peter's, absconded with the sum of seventeen shillings and six pence, the property of one Patrick Connell, Drogheda, said sum being entrusted to him to post in postal orders, and which he failed to do:— Brown eyes ( left one looks smaller than right), regular nose, round small face, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 26 years of age, brown moustache; wore a silk cap, brown twilled coqt, dark corduroy trowsers and vest; is a tramping sweep. ( 9068 c. 89032.) meath. Description of MURPHY ( supposed fictitious), who stands charged with having, on the night of the 11th or morning of the 12th June, 1891, in the barony of Lower Dnleek, parish of Julianstown, burglariously entered the dwelling- house of John Brangan, of Menistown, and stolen therefrom a silver lever hunting watch ( No. 5449), a pair of elastic boots, much worn about the toes, a pair of boy's boots nearly new, an old gray dust coat, and two ( 3 « .) in silver:— Stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 45 years of age, wore all his beard, which is dark brown; wore a scotch cap, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a tramp. The watch has been found in a pawn office in Dublin. Warrant issued. Slane, 20th June, 1891. ( 9924 c.— 90570). Description of THOMAS RYAN ( DANEHER), native of Moher, who stands charged with having, on the 5th August, 1891, in the barony of Kilnamanagh Upper, parish of Toem, seriously assaulted one William English, by striking him with a stone over the left eye, knocking him down, and kicking him, thereby placing his life in danger:— Down- looking treacherous appear- ance, keeps his hands in trowsers pockets, brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full face, very stout make, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 24 or 25 years of age, dark brown hair, no beard or whiskers, small black moustache; wore a bright tweed sack coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer. ( 10959 c— 92283) Description of PATRICK DELANEY, native of Holycross, county Tipperary, who stands charged with having, on the 15th day of July, 1891, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Tipperary, and town of Tipperary, when under arrest for larceny of whiskey from a dwelling, escaped from custody:— Blotches on face, very sharp manner of speaking; gray eyes, very small nose, red complexion, very thin face, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair turning gray; wore an old tweed coat, dark trowsers, and old vest; shabby clothes, coat torn on left arm $ is a tramp, Warrant for his arrest with District Inspector, Tipperary. Description of PATRICK DWYER, native of Grovestown, Dundrum, who stands charged with having, on or about the 4th June, 1891, at Ballygur- rane, in the barony of Kilnamanagh, Lower, parish of Oughterleague, stolen four yearling cattle, the pro. perty of Rhody Dwyer, off his farm at Ballygurrane. — Delicate looking, stands erect, shaves all face except slight moustache, dark eyes, regular nose, dark com- plexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 32 years of age, dark hair; wore a brown hat with crape band, plaid sack coat, black cloth trousers, plaid vest; is a clerk. Warrant issued for his arrest. Dundrum, 9th June, 1891. ( 9785 c.— 90182.) Description of JOHN O'CONNOR, native of county Waterford, wbo stands charged with having, on the 11th day of May, 1891, in the barony of Iffa and Offa East, parish of Templetenny, embezzled the sum of £ 3 17s, 4rf.:— Slightly prominent teeth, dark brown eyes, slightly hooked nose, ruddy complexion, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 47 years of age, black hair tinged with gray : wore an old blue serge coat, trowsers, and vest, and an old greasy one- peaked cap; wore a short dirty sandy moustache. Shaves has face, but not oftener than once a week. Served 11 years in the army, and dons not appear to be all right in his head; is a labourer. Informations sworn and warrant issued for arrest. Description of JOHN KELLY, native of King's County, who stands charged with having, on the 5th or 6th day of May, 1891, in the barony of Ikerrin, parish of Corbally, stolen from the house of Mathew Mara, at Gortnacally, £ 5 2s., and also a suit of tweed clothes and a penknife:— Down- looking, and spots or pimples on face, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complex- on, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 20 years of age, light brown hair; wore a hard hat, blue serge coat, and tweed trowsers ; is a labourer ( has a flute, which he plays well). Warrant issued for his arrest. Roscrea, 7th May, 1891. ( 9125 c— 89125.) Waterford. Description of JOHN JOSEPH WALSH, native of Knocknacreha, ho stands charged with having, on the 23rd June, 191, in the barony of Upperthird, parish of Rathgrmac, forged his father's name, Matthias Walsh, o a cheque for the sum of £ 12, which he stole, ud cashed in the Carrick- on- Suir National Bank onihe same day:— Small red spot on side of nose close to eye, blue eyes, short nose, fair complexion, roundface, very stout make, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, abot 15 years of age, looks older, light brown hair; worei light tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest darker thin coat, but is suspected of having got new clothes. Description of WILLIAM BYRNE, native of Tagbmon, wko stands charged with having, on the night of 4th or morning of 5th instant, in the barony of Shelmalier West, parish of Taghmon, burglariously entered the licensed premises of James Keating, Tagh- mon, and stolen therefrom the sum of £ 11 9s. Id.:— Blue eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 23 or 24 years ol age, looks younger, brown hair;. wore a jerry hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer and discharged soldier. EDWARD GRANNELLS ( indecent assault), Hue- and- Cry, 20th March, not arrested. ( 6878 c— 8506.) PATRICK KELLY, alias MOFFAT ( indecent assault), Hue- and- Cry, 24th February, not arrested. ( 7017c 85272.) Wicklow. Desoriptinn nf the undernamed Young Offender,, who, on the 5th August, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree, county Wicklow:— OWEN REILLY ( 2,339), about 18 or 19 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 5 feet 4 inches high, stout make, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary mouth, round visage; formerly belonged to Santry, county Dublin; parents dead; a heart tattooed on right forearm; wants last joint of little finger, left hand. His brother, James Reilly, resides at 35, Commons- street, Dublin; his brother, William Reilly, at Forest, Cloghran, county Dublin; his sister in High Park Reformatory, Drumcondra ; and his aunt, Mary Reilly, at Straffan, county Kildare. The school drees, all with the Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Gray tweed trowsers, blue serge tunic, blue serge cap, strong nailed boots, No. 2,339. The band uniform with white braid on cap and tunic. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. 6th August, 1891. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 5th August, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School at Glencree, county Wicklow JOHN NOLAN ( 2,310), about 18 or 19 years of age, looks younger, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, stout make, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, large nose, ordinary month, oval visage; formerly belonged to 20, Townsend- street, Dublin; parents reside at 28, Moss- street, Dublin; large dinge or hollow on top of his head. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, con- sists of gray tweed trowsers, blue serge tunic, blue serge cap ( the band uniform, trimmed with white braid), strong nailed boots, No. 2310. Absconded with William Flood and Owen Reilly. The three boys belonged to the band. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. 6th August, 1891. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 5th August, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School, at Glencree :— WILLIAM FLOOD ( 2,286), about ttor 18 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, ordintSf make, fresh complexion, brown hair, gray eyes, regular nose, ordinary mcutb, oval visage; formerly belonged to 161, Townsend- street, Dublin, parents reside at same place ; marks of sores on his neck. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, con- sists of gray tweed trowsers, blue serge tunic, blue serge cap ( the band uniform, trimmed with white braid), elastic- side boots, No. 2,286. Particulars relative to Convict WILLIAM GEORGE FRAZER, c 23, convicted at Ennis- killen Quarter Sessions, on 18th November, 1885, for obtaining money under false pretences ( 4 counts), and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude; 23 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Roman Catholic, single, is a servant, prison trade a tailor, born near Nenagh, his friends reside in Roscrea:— Fair hair, brown eyes, light brown eyebrows, regular and long nose, large moutb, prominent under- lip, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 3$ inches high; small flesh mark on left arm, cut- scar back of head, calf of left leg ulcerated. This man was released on licence from Mountjoy Convict Prison on 18th May, 1891, and went to reside in Roscrea, county Tipperary, from whence be moved to 29 City- quay, Dublin, on 19th June. He has recently left his Dublin lodgings without notifying his change of residence to the Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. Charged on Warrant with obtaining three heifers by false pretences from Thomas Green, on 11th June. 1891.
