No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated naturo will be insertod. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an olTence of this nature unless they have tho Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. ° v Should irregularitios arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake oannot be rectified. DENSMORE, late Acting Sergeant, R. I. C., Depot, Phoenix Park, who is wanted on Warrant for obtaining several gold watches by false pretences from jewellers in this city, during the past two months:— He is 39 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, square shoulders, fair com- plexion, inclined to be pale, fair hair, turning gray, shares all his face except moustache, which is usually pointed at ends, bald on top of head; wore a dark serge morning coat, dark trowsers, and round black hat. Durham. MAGNUS PATTISON IRWIN, ( embezzlement), Hue- and- Cry 7th July, not arrested. ( 401 H. C.) Essex. Wanted at Chelmsford, charged on a Warrant with having, on 2nd July, stolen a pony, cart, harness, & c. ( recovered), which he had hired:— A man, who gave the came of WILLIAM BONNER, and described himself as a coach builder, of Church- street, Chelsea, where he stated his son was living and carrying on a business. He is described as about 62 years of age or more, about 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, sallow complexion, hair and whiskers grey, moustache a little darker, clipped short; shaved on cbin, dressed in soft black billycock, black ribbed serge suit, shabby; white India rubber collar, black necktie. He carried a brown walking- stick with large knob at end, and was an inveterate snuff taker, and drank only Port wine. Tfce left side of his mouth turns up, and he has a long tooth in his upper jaw, believed to be the eye- tooth on left side. He gave the name of JEMMY REED, of 14, slough- place, Chingford, to the person to whom he sold the above property. He stopped at a public- house at Chelmsford on 1st July, and made himself very agreeable to the company, treating anyone, and appearing to have plenty of cash. He left Chelms- ford by the 9.25 I\ M. train for London, on Thurs- day evening, 2nd July. This man is identical with man described in " Police Gazette," 5th June ( Case 75), 12th June ( Case 67), 3rd July ( Cssa 16). He sometimes assumes the name of BALCOMBE. It is particularly requested that every search and enquiry may be made for this man, who is evidently a notorious horse- stealer ( and it is believed an old convict). If any information obtained, communicate with undersigned, who holds the Warrant. He will probably stay at some respectable publichouse, or obtain lodgings at a private house, as he tried to do this when he came to Chelmsford. R. SOMERSET, Deputy Chief Constable. 5th July, 1891. One small razor strop, shaving brush; and pair of low shoes with toe- caps, half soled not long ago, which latter the thief is believed to he wearing. Description of BRAND r— About 20 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, proportionate build, fair complexion, very sharp thin features, dark brown hair, slight moustache and side whiskers, b'ue eyes; tittooed dog's head on left wrist, three dots back of left hand, large dot back right hand, two moles centre of chest, vaccination left arm. Dress :— Light coat and waist- coat, dark striped trow sew, black hard hat. BRAND was sentenced to 12 months at Chelmsford Sessions, 19th February, 1890, on three charges of larceny, at Ilford. He stated he was a native of Nor- wich, and a clerk by occupation. Please cause every search and inquiry for this man, and if found, arrest and wire to. undersigned. He stated he had lately teen working a planing machine, hi* troweers and waistcoat bear marks of grease or oil. He has a scar inside his right wrist which he said was caused by a cut from this machine. He stated he was fond of bicycling. He left behind a pair of old brown canvas shoes, and brown socks and drawers, also a light necktie with a silver pin in it, this pin is in imitation of a Chinese fan. B. SOMERSET, D. C. C. 405.— H. Wanted on Warrant in this borough, charged with absconding frcm the Police Service:— ROBERT KIRKWOOD, ex- police constible, about 27 years of age, 5 feet 9} inches high, proportionate build, swarthy complexion, blue eyes, light brown hair and monstsche may grow side whiskers, " R. K." and harp tattooed on right forearm, cross and anchor on left forearm, and ship on chest; native of Killala, county Mayo, Irelaad, and speaks with a, strong Irish accent, is of smart appearance; has served 6 years in the Royal Irish Regiment of Foot, and is now in the Army Reserve; dressed when last seen in light check cloth peak cap, worn beck of head, blue nniform trowsers, and black worsted cloth jacket; supposed to have in his possession a flue black worsted cloth coat and vest and a pair of blue and black striped trowsers ( new), which he may now be wearing. For a short time previous to joining the police he was employed as a cab- driver at Chorlton- cum- Hardy, Manchester. Will probably endeavour to leave the country.
