All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to fprward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of ihe person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that tliey cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. *#* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, Ac., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry1" no loriger necessary. ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY, Antrim, Description of the under- named joung offender, who, on the 19th April, 1891, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School at Belfast: — 1. ANDREW GRAHAM, 18 years of age. light brown hair, gray eyes, light eyebrows, straight nose, regular month, fresh complexion, oval visage, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high; is a tailor; born at Pattick, near Glasgow; scar under each eye, dot of ink on each hand near thumb; dressed in dark tweed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blue Glengarry cap. blue and white striped shirt, red and black check tie, Bluoher boots, and woollen stockings. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. 27th April, 1891. Description of MICHAEL TIMMINS ( mother's surname Maher), native of Bannagapole, who stands charged with having, on the 9th day of March, 1891, in the barony of Idrone West, parish of Wells, seriously assaulted one Ellen Hanlon, by kicking her in the abdomen, and thereby placing her life in danger. This man was bailed to take his trial on above charge at Carlow Quarter Sessions on the 9th instant, but failod to put in an epgearance; his present where- abouts are unknown:— Gray or blue eyes, thick nose, dark complexion, ronnd face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 21 years of age, black hair; wore a soft black hat, dark tweed . coat, trowsers, and vest; down- looking sullen appearance; is a farmer's son. GRIFFIN, native place un- known, who stands charged with having, on two occasions within the last two years, in the barony of Athenry, parish of Athenry, falsely pretended that he was collecting subscriptions for the Dominican Order in Dublin, and there and then, by means of such false pretences, did obtain money from divers persons :— Fresh complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; was dressed in the garb of a Roman Catholic priest, and wore a dark waterproof overcoat with cape; is a tutor. He gave his address as " 24 Palmerston- place, Dublin," and the " Franciscan Convent, Athlone." He is known to the police at Mullingar and Athlone. Warrant issued for his arreBt. Description of JAMES DEVANNY, native of Templemore, who stands charged with having, on the 9th May, 1891, in the barony of Ikerrin, parish of Killavanogue, stolen an ass ( sinca recovered), the pro- perty of John Connolly, of Templemore:— Slightly stooped shoulders, slight fair moustache, is an army reserve man; gray or blue eyes, drooped nose, fair complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 28 yews of age, brown hair; wore a hard IJ- V bat, round dark sack coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is boots in an hotel. Description of JOHN O'CONNOR, native of county - Waterfard, who stands charged with having, on the 11th day of May, 1891, in the barony of Iffa and Offa East, parish of Templetenny, embezzled the sum of £ 3 17s. 4d. :— Slightly prominent teeth, dark brown eyes, slightly hooked nose, ruddy complexion, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 47 years of age, black hair tinged with gray: wore an old blue serge coat, trowsers, and vest, and an old greasy one- peaked cap; wore a short dirty sandy moustache. Shaves bis face, but not oftener than once a week. Served 11 years iu the army, and do « s not appear to be all right iu his head; is a labourer. Informations sworn and warrant issued for arrest. Description of CHARLES STEWART, alias PETER HANLON, alias GEORGE BROWN, says he is a native of Armagh, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of April. 1891, in the muni- cipal borough of Waterford, parish of Trinity Without, endeavoured to defraud a number of farmers by pretending to purchase their pigs:— Hazel eyes, long sharp nose, ruddy complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, looks older; brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, tweed trowsers, black vest, and leggings. He has been arrested, and pending enquiries has been re- manded. He has been in Clonmel, Dundalk, Armagh, and Kilkenny Gaols for larcenies. Waterford, 10th April, 1891. ( 8547 88165.) Description of JOHN HAIGH, native of Cross- land, near Huddersfield, who stands charged with having, en the 9th April 189'. in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Trinity Without, stolen the sum of £ 28, a blue overcoat, beaver cloth, with black velvet collar, two pair gray web drawers, and two blue Yager wool fhirts; the money was all in new coinage, gold and silver, including a 4s. piece with dent on reverse side:— His back is supposed to be padded to take away military appearance; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark coarse hair; wore a blsck felt hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest, brown satin necktie; is a private, 15th Hassars. Had a black bullock trunk, with W. L. in faint white letters on end, one of the straps broken. Warrant. for arrest in hands of District Inspector, Waterfrrd. This man left Waterford by 2.30 p. m. train for Dublin on 9th instant. Waterford, 11th April, 1891. ( 8560 c— 88196.) Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 8th May, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School, at Glencree, county Wicklow:— BENJAMIN WRIXON, 2356, about. 18 or 19 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 5 feet 3 inches high, stout make, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, rather large nose, prominent mouth with very thick lips, oval visage, two small cut- marks on firehead; formerly belonged to Shandon- street and Old Church street, Cork. His parents are dead. This boy speaka with a Cork accent; he is sometimes of a very eccettric turn of mind, and would appear not to be quite sane; he will join tho army if taken, but bis being taken is doubtful, if examined properly. The School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, trowsers. and vest, elastic belt, strong nailed boots, No. 2356. The Manager of the Refcrmatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. 11th May, 1891. Description of the undernamed young offender, who,, on the 8th May, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School, at Glencree, county Wicklow:— JOHN KELLY, 2314, about 19 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 5 feet 4 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, long straight nose, ordinary month, long oval visage, small cut- marks over right eye and on left knee; formerly belonged to 8, Chapter- place, Dublin. His parents reside at same place, or 6, Church- lane, off Lower Kevin- street. This boy will endeavour to enlist in the army, for which service he appears to have a great desire, and where several of his companions are already. He is of a. rather hairy nature, and can grow a whisker at his pleasure. G., Depot, Phoenix Park, who is wanted on Warrant for obtaining several gold watches by false pretences from j ewellers in this city, during the past two months:— He is 39 years of age, 6 feet 11 inches high, square shoulders, fair com- plexion, inclined to be pale, fair hair, turning gray, shaves all his face except moustache, which is usually pointed at ends, bald on top of head; wore a dark serge morning coat, dark trowsers, and round black hat. SCOTCH POLICE, Glasgow. EMBEZZLEMENT OF £ 979. Wanted on a Sheriff's Warrant, charged with em- bezzlement of the above sum, the property of Messrs. Alexander and Son, soap and candle manufacturers, Aberdeen, for whom he acted as agent in this city :— DAVID STEPHEN, 42 years of age, 6 feet 7 inches high, ordinary make, fresh complexion, good features, dark beard, whiskers, and moustache, all mixed with gray; dresses respectably. Is a native of Aberdeen, but speaks with Glasgow accent. Resided with his wife and family at Gowanbank, Shawlands. Absconded on 3rd inst., and will probably endeavour to leave the country. Please cause diligent search and enquiry to be made at hotels, shipping, shipping offices, and other likely places, and should accused be found, arrest and wire, J. Description of a heifer, the property of Bernard Donohue of Druminick, near Stradone, which was stolen from Connor Lynche's yard, in the town of Ballyjamesduff, parish of Castleraghan, barony of Castleraghan, on 7th May, 1891 ( fair day) :— Light gray coloured heifer, 2 years old, hair rubbed off neck, dull- looking eyes, short cocked horns, in fair condition; value £ 10. Amended description of two bullocks, the property of Mrs. Dolan, of Moher, which ware stolen off the lands of Moher, parish of Drumreilly, and barony of Tullyhaw, on the night of 1st May, l891 :— 1. Two- year- old bullock, gray colour, with yellow neck, thick straight horns slightly turned out, in poor condition ; value for about £ 6 10s. 2. Two- year- old bullock, spotted red and white, short thick drooped horns slightly turned in, a small slit on tup of right ear, in fair condition ; value for about £ 7. Both coarse mountain cattle. Park, which was stolen from the lands of Glouna lour, parish of Tralee, and barony of Trughenack ny, on 18th dav of May, 1H91:— Red and white, with small healthy udder, white star on forehead, some of the hair was off tho hips, about 4 years old, and in fair condition; value for aboat £ 7. M'Mullen, Wiltshire Regiment, which were stolen from his quarters, Curragh Camp, parish of Ballysax, and barony of East Offaly, between the hours of 4£ a. m. and 8 a. m. on 20th May, 1891 1. A gold keyless hunter watch, No. 108,584, maker, Benson, London, coat of arms on one side, with mott", " Miscris succurrere disco," and on the other side is a monagram, with the initials " F. R. M." 2. A gold Albert chain, fetter link, with silver sovereign case attached to chain. The watch and chain is value for £ 36. Gordon, 2ni Gordon Highlanders, which were stolen from his quarters, Curragh Camp, parish of Ballysax, barony of East Offaly, between 8 p. m. on the 19th and 6 a. m. on the 20th May, 1891: Three gold shirt studs, with a crest of a stag's head, and motto, " Byd And," on a ground of blue enamel. Description of an ass's cart, ihe property of Robert Allen, which was stolen from the lands of Lissara, parish of Galbally, barony of Coshlea, on the night of the 16th or morning of the 17th March:— A new cart, painted red, with new wheels, band on one wheel new, an old band with split in eantre on the other, eye- bolt broken, new back- band, cripples mitred in the middle, owner's nama painted on saaft.
