All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Ory are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description caji be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn • but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a ' Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fcc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. DUBLIN, TUESDAY, MAY 19, 1891. NOTICE. The composition of the Hue- and- Cry will he found arranged for easy reference as follows:— ( a.) Regulations on top of first page, ( b.) Apprehensions sought. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT. ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY. Antrim; Description of the under- named young offenders, who, on the 19th April 1891, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School at Belfast:— 1. ANDREW GRAHAM, 18 years of age, light brown hair, gray eyes, light eyebrows, straight mse, regular mouth,' fresh complexion, oval visage, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high; is a tailor; born at Partick, near Glasgow; scar under each eye, dot of ink on each hand near tbutnb; dressed in dark tweed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blue Glengarry cap, blue and white striped shirt, red and black check tie, Bluoher boots, and wbollen stockings. 2. HAMILTON GREGORY, 19 years of age, brown hair, blue eyes ( sight of left not perfect), heavy eyebrows, hooked nose, ordinary mouth, pale com- plexion, round visage, melium make, 5 feet 9 inches highs is a carpenter; born at 34, Upper Leeson- street, Dublin; ship, anchor, crown, and " W. B.," cannon and colours, harp and crown on left arm; dressed in dark tweed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blae Glengarry cap, blue and white striped shirt, red and black check tie, Blucher boots, and woollen stockings. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of their conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture them with £ 1 for each boy. 27th April, 1891. DE COBAIN, native of Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross indtcency with another male person, and within the suJflffne, and at the place aforesaid did incite divers ot^ Vmale persons to commit sodomy:— Walks erect, sq* re shoulders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when s^ Eiking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches hieb, about 48 years of ajre, dark brown hair; wore a silk hat, black Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest; is a Member of Parliament. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Detective Department, Belfast, to whom information should be sent. NOTE.— Arrest cannot be legally made without Warrant. Belfast, 15th April, 1891. Carlow. Description of MICHAEL TIMMINS ( mother's surname Maher), native of Bannagagole, who stands charged with having, on the 9th day of March, 1891, in the barony of Idrone West, parish of Wells, seriously assaulted one Ellen Hanlon, by kicking her in the abdomen, snd thereby placing her life in danger. This man was bailed to take his trial on above charge at Carlow Quarter Sessions on the 9th instant, but failed to pnt in an appearance; his present where- abouts sre unknown:— Gray or blue eyes, thick nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 21 years of age, black hair; wore a soft black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; down- looking sullen appearance; is a farmer's son. Particulars relative to Convict MARY BUCKLEY, B 166 convicted at Cork City Trinity Sessions, on 14th July, 1886, for larceny, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude:— 65 years of age on conviction, facial paralysis, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, light eyebrows, medium nose, crooked mouth, sallow complexion, long visage, stout make, 4 feet 11 inches high; is a widow and housekeeper; born at Cork where her friends reside, and where she resided before conviction. This woman was released, on licence, from Grangegorman Prison, 3rd April, 1891, and went to reside in Cork. She has recently left her residence without reporting to the R. I. C., and her present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of her arrest she should be dealt with under sec. 5 of 34 ajjd 35 Vic., cap. 112. 6th May, 1891. ( 394 H. C.) Description of PATRICK KELLY, native of Dublin City, who stands charged with having, on the 30th March, 1891, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Tully, stolen from the dwellinghouse of John Dempsey, one pair of boots and seven shillings and sixpence:— Carbuncles on face, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 26 years of age, sandy hair; wore a gray plaid coat, barracan trowsers, and tweed vest; is a labourer. Description of MICHAEL GRIFFIN, native of county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 16th day of March, 1891, in tie barony of Pubble- brien, parish of Croom, stolen 22 sheep, the property of Benjamin Corneille, 16 of which he sold at the fair of Charleville, on that date:— Speaks with a slight impediment, no beard or whiskers, small dark moustache, gray or blue eyes, long thin nose, sallow complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair; wore a gray tweed cap with one peak, gray tweed coat, trousers, and veet, soiled; is a farmer's son. Description of THOMAS MORAHAN ( mother's surname Morohan), native of Mount Daisy, Castlebar, who stands charged with having, cn the 18th March, 1891, in tie barony of Carra, parish of Aglish, stolen a quantity of tobacco from tie premises of the Midland Great Western Railway Coirpany, at Castlebar, said tobacco being the property of one Patrick Staunton, of Castlebar:— Weak- kneed, bends forward in knees, gray or blue eyes, ordinary note, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 24 years of age ; wore a dark coarse tweed cost and dark tweed trowrers and vest; is a labourer. Description of IGNATIUS HOBSON ( mother's surname Rabbit), native ot county Meath, who stands charged with having, on or about the 16th April, 1891, in the barony of Upper Deece, parish of Gallow, wilfully and maliciously cut and destroyed growing tre's and shrubs at Ferran's Lock Station, M. G. W. Railway, value for about £ 5:— Sullen appearance; dark eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, fresh face, medium mate, 5 feet 9£ inches high, about 22 years of age, brown bair; were a black bard hat dark coat, trow » ers, and vest; lately signalman in M. Description of PATRICK LEONARD, native of Brack La, county Kildare, who stands charged with having, on the right of 9th or morning of 10th instant, in the barony of Maryborough West, parish of Clon- enagh and Clonaheen, feloniously stolen from the dwellinghouse of Daniel Moore, of Cloneygowan, a new pair of men's bellows- tongued laced boots, no nails brass rivets in shank, soles pegged; a man's black serge vest; a silver watcb, no glass, one hand off, half inside of case had a yellow appearance, crack across face of dial between the figures nine and three; all value for £ 2 10*., the property of Daniel Moore, with whom he was employed as a farm servant:— Down- looking, sir all closed- up dark eyes, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, fat face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 20 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a black hard h » t, dark long- skirted coat gray striped trowsers, and dark vest. Description of JOHN and THOMAS DALY ( brothers), and JOSEPH BEIRNE, who stand charged with having, on night of 5th May, 1891, in the barony of Frenchpark, parish of Tibohine, assaulted one John Connor, by striking him on the head with a stone, from the effects of which he died on 11th instant 1. Gray or blue eyes, regular nose, freckled com- plexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, and 23 years of sge, fair hair, small fair mous- tache ; wore gray tweed clothes. 2. Gray or blue eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, and 18 or 19 years of age, dark hair, no beard or moustache. 3. Fair complexion, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, and about 23 years of age, fair hair, sandy moustache; farmers' sons. Description of EDMOND FLEMING ( mother's surname Boland', no fixed residence, who stands charged with having, on the 5th April, 1891, at Cap- pawhite, in the barony of Kilnamanagh Upper, parish • f Toem, unlawfully and fraudulently embezzled the sum of £ 10 10*., the property of one Thomas Boland, small cattle dealer:—" Very tender sore eyes, nearly blind, and walks with difficulty in consetquence, bald on top of head, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 50 years of age, fair hair; wore a soft hat, frieze coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed vest; is a cattle drover. Warrant issued for his arrest Dundrum, 12th May, 1891. ( 9201 c.— 89262). Description of JOHN O'CONNOR, native of county Waterford, who stands charged with having, on the 11th day of May, 1891, in the barony of Iffa and Offa East, parish of Templetenny, embezzled the sum of £ 3 17*. 4d. :— Slightly prominent teeth, dark brown eyes, slightly hooked nose, ruddy complexion, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 47 years of age, black bair tinged with gray: wore an old blue serge coat, trowsers, and vest, and an old greasy one- peaked cap; wore a short dirty sandy moustache. Shaves his face, but not oftener than once a week. Served 11 years ia the army, and do* s not appear to be all right iu his head; is a labourer. Description ef JOHN KELLY, native of King's County, who stands charged with having, on the 5th or 6th day of May, 1891, in the barony of Ikerrin, parish of Corbally, stolen from the house of Mathew Mara, at Gortnacally, £ 5 2*., and also a suit of tweed clothes and a penknife:— Down- looking, and spots or pimples on face, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complex- ion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about SO years of age, light brown hair; wore a hard hat, blue serge coat, and tweed trowsers; is a labourer ( has a flute, which he plays well). Description of JOHN BYRNE ( mother's surname Ryat), native of Coolanga Lower, who stands charged with having, oa the 8th day of May, 1891, in the barony of Lower Kilnamanagh, parish of Clonoulty, assaulted Patrick Bourke, process server, by striking him on the head with an iron tongs, thereby placing his life in dan- ger:— Large blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 26 jears of age, dark bair, no hair on face; is a farmer's son. Description of CHARLES STEWART, alias PETER HANLON, alias GEORGE BROWN, says he is a native of Armagh, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of April, 1891, in the muni- cipal borough of Waterford, parish of Trinity Without, endeavoured to defraud a number of farmers by pretending to purchase their pigs;— Hazel ejes, long sharp nose, ruddy complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, loots older, brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, tweed trowsers, black vest, and leggings. He has been arrested, and pending enquiries has been re- manded. He has been in Clonmel, Dundalk, Armagh, and Kilkenny Gaols for larcenies. Waterford, 10th April, 1891. ( 8547 o— 88165.) Description of JOHN HAIGH, native of Cross- land, near Huddersfield, who staads charged with having, en the - 9th April, 1891. in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Trinity Without stolen the sum of £ 28, a blue over coat, beaver cloth, with black velvet collar, two pair gray web drawers, and two bine Yager wool thirts; the money was all in new coinage, fold and silver, including a 4*. piece with dent on reverse side:— His back is supposed to be padded to take away military appearance; gray eyes, regular nose, freah complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark coarse hair; wore a black felt hat dark coat, trowsers, and vest, brown satin necktie; is a private, 15th Hussars. Had a black bullock trunk, with W. L. in faint white letters on end, one of the straps broken. Warrant for arrest in hands of District Inspector, Waterfcrd. This man left Waterford by 2.30 p. m. train for Dublin on 9th instant. Waterford, 11th April, 1891. ( 8560 c— 88196.) Description of THOMAS DUFFY, native of Deerpark, King's County, who stands charged with having, on or about 25th June, 1890, in the barony of Moycashel, parish of Kilbeggan, unlawfully stolon and carried away ten doors, two locks, and other property ( now recovered), from the house of Joseph Phylan, Kilbeggan Dark eyes, pale complexion, thin face, very slight make, 5 feat 7 inches high, about 35 years of age, small black moustache ( may have shaved), no whiskers or beard; is a grocer's assistant, formerly a publican. Speaks with an English accent; Warrant issued. Kilbeggan, 17th March, 1891. ( 8112 c.— 87297.) MAN and WOMAN ( stealing), Hue- and- Ory, 28th April, not arrestee!. ( 7640 c.—- 86523.) Wexford. THOMAS WALSH ( licensed convict), Hue- and- Cry, 28th April, not arrested. ( 6992 c.— 87110.) EDWARD GRANNELLS ( indecent assault), Hue- and- Cry, 20th March, not arrested. ( 6878 c— 8506.) PATRICK KELLY, alias MOFFAT ( indecent assault), Hue- and- Cry, 24th February, not arrested. ( 7017c 85272.) Wicklow. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 8th May, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School, at Glencree, county Wicklow:— BENJAMIN WRIXON, 2356, abont 18 or 19 years of age, 6 feet 2 or 5 feet 3 inches high, stout make, fresh complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, rather large nose, prominent month with very thick lips, oval visage, two small cut- marks on f rehead ; formerly belonged to Shandon- street and Old Church- street, Cork. His parents are dead. This boy speaks with a Cork accent; he is sometimes of a very eccentric turn of mind, and would appear not to be quite sane; he will join the army if taken, but bis being taken is doubtful, if examined properly. The School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket trowsers, and vest, elastic belt, strong nailed boots, No. 2356. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 8th May, 1891, absconded from the St. Kevin's Reformatory School, at Glencree, county Wicklow:— JOHN KELLY, 2314, about 19 years ot age, 5 feet 3 or 5 feet 4 inches high, stout make, fair complexion, brown hair, blue eyes, long straight nose, ordinary mouth, long oval visage, small cut- marks over right eye and on left knee; formerly belonged to 8, Chapter- place, Dublin. His parents reside at same place, or 6, Church- lane, eff Lower Kevin- street. This boy will endeavour to enlist in the army, for which service he appears to bave a great desire, and where several of his companions are already. He is of a rather hairy nature, and can grow a whisker at his pleasure. The School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, trowsers, and vest, elastic belt, strong ngiled boots, No. 2314. PATRICK KERRIGAN alias CONNOR or COMBER ( perjury), Hne- and- Cry, 20th February, not arrested. ( 5848 c— 82977.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. C division. ^ Description of ROBERT H. DENSMORE, late Acting Sergeant, R. I. C., Depot, Phoenix Park, who is wanted on Warrant for obtaining several gold watches by false pretences from jewellers in this city, dnring the put two months:— He is 39 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches high, square shoulders, fair com- plexion, inclined to be pale, fur hair, turning gray, shaves all his face except mouttache, which is usually pointed at ends, bald on top of head; wore a dark serge morning coat, dark trowsers, and round black hat. He is a native of Sells, county Antrim, and absconded from B. LC. Depot on night cf 10th instant. Warrant in the hands of the Chief Superintendent. 12th May, 1891. ( 197 H. C.) his wife and family at Gowanbank, Shawlands. Absconded on 3rd inst., and will probably endeavour to leave the country.
