V ST All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Ory are to be transmitted under oover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall hare been Sworn • but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours aa are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persona whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issue! and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of thk nature unless thoy have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. * » • Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be neoessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, aa without thia information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of ike Abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fec., - and of any circumstanoes rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. DUBLIN, TUESDAY, MAY 12, 1891. NOTICE. The composition of the Hue- and- Cry will be found arranged for easy reference as follows:— ( a.) Regulations on top of first page, ( b.) Apprehensions. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT. ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY. Antrim. Description of the under- named young offenders, who, on the 19th April. 1891, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School at Belfast 1. ANDREW GRAHAM, 18 years of age, light brown hair, gray eyes, light eyebrows, straight nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high; is a tailor; born at Partick, near Glasgow; scar under each eye, dot of ink on each hand near thumb; drewed in dark tweed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blue Glengarry cap, blue and white striped shirt, red and black check tie, Blueher boots, and woollen stockings. 2. HAMILTON GREGORY, 19 years of ago, brown hair, blue eyes ( sight of left not perfect), heavy eyebrows, hooked noee, ordinary mouth, pale com- plexion, round visage, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high; is a carpenter; born at 34, Upper Leeson- etreet, Dublin; ship, anchor, crown, and " W. B.," cannon and colours, harp and crown on left arm; dressed in dark tweed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blue • Glengarry cap, bine and white striped shirt, red and black check tie, Blucher boots, and woollen stockings. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of their conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture them with £ 1 for each boy. 27th April, 1891. De COBAIN, native of Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross indw^ icy with another male person, and within the saoajVime, and at the place aforesaid did incite divers otl^ A^ ale persons to commit sodomy:— Walks erect, equ^ reshoidders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when speaking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, abont 48 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a silk hat, black Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest; is a Member of Parliament. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Detective Department, Belfast, to whom information should be sent. NOTE - Arrest cannot be legally made without Warrant. Belfast, 15th April, 1891. Carlow. Description of MICHAEL TIMMINS ( mother's surname Maher), native of Bannagagole, who stands charged with having, on the 9th day of March, 1891, in the barony of Idrone West, parish of Wells, seriously assaulted one Ellen Hanlon, by kicking her in the abdomen, and thereby placing her life in danger. This man was bailed to take his trial on above charge at Carlow Quarter Sessions on the 9th instant, but failed to put in an appearance; his present where- abouts are unknown:— Gray or blue eyes, thick nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 21 years of age, black hair; wore a soft black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; down- looking sullen appearance; is a farmer's son. Particulars relative to Convict MARY BUCKLEY, B 166 convicted at Cork City Trinity Sessions, on 14th July, 1886, for larceny, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude:— 65 years of age on conviction, facial paralysis, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, light eyebrows, medium nose, crooked mouth, sallow complexion, long visage, stout make, 4 feet 11 inches high; is a widow and housekeeper; born at Cork where her friends reside, and where she resided before conviction. This woman was released, on licence, from Grangegorman Prison, 3rd April, 1891, and went to reside in Cork. She has recently left her residence without reporting to the R. LC., and her present whereabouts is unknown. In tbe event of her arrest she shoold be dealt with nnder sec. 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 6th May, 1891. ( 894 H. C.) Description of JAMES MANNING, native of county Meath, who stands charged with having, on the 10th day of February, 1891, in the barony of Magonihy, parish of Killarney, committed wilful and corrupt perjury :-- Three teeth lost from front of mouth, stooped shoulders, short side whiskers, no moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round ( ace, stout make, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 50 years of age, sandy hair turning gray; wore a hard black hat, gray sack coat, gray trowsers, and vest; rather good looking, pretty well dressed, looks like a well- to- do farmer; is a caretaker on Land Cor- poration farm. Description of THOMAS MOODY, supposed native of Glenmill, county Wicklow, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd May, 1891, a* Killinane, in tl e barony of Kilcullen, parish of Kil- cullen, committed a rape on the person of Bridget Reilly:— Very thick lips, gray eyes, short nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 6 feet 6 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore a black hard hat gray tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest; is a labourer. Description of PATRICK KELLY, native of Dublin City, who stands charged with having, on the 30th March, 1891, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Tully, stolen from the dwellinghouse of John Dempsey, one pair of boots and seven shillings and ' sixpence :— Carbuncles on face, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 26 years of age, sandy hair; wore a gray plaid coat, barracan trowsers, and tweed vest; is a labourer. This man may now be in a Dublin Hospital as a patient, as it is believed be was suffering from some disease of the skin. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, at Kildare. Kildare, 16th April, 1891. Description of JAMES NEWMAN, native place not known, who stands charged with having, on the 25th inarch, 1891, at Curragh Camp, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Ballysax, in his possession an ass, the property of William Brady, which was stolen on the 9th March, 1891, out of Brady's yard. See Hue- and- Cry of 17th March, 1891. The ass has been recovered:— Regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, slender Bake, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark hair; wore a gray tweed eap, round dark coat, plaid trowsers, wears shoes; is a tailor; frequents soldiers' barracks for the purpose of repairing uniform clothing. Mn armed with a loaded gun, with intent to commit felony :—' Said to be half witted; gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, small round face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard bat, gray coat, trowsers; and vest; is a farm servant. May be found in county Fermanagh as farm servant. Information sworn Bnd a Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Constabulary of Drumdarton, Ballinamore. Ballinamore, 23rd April, 1891. Description of MICHAEL GRIFFIN, native of county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the ,16th day of March, 1891, in tie barony of Pubble- brien, parish of Croom, stolen 22 sheep, the property of Benjamin Corneille, 16 of which he sold at the fair of Charleville, on that date:— Speaks with a slight impediment, no beard or whiskers, small dark mdnsta* he, gray or blue eyes, long thin nose, sallow complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair; wore a gray tweed cap with one peak, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, soiled; is a farmer's son. ( 8173 c— 87573.) • Description of WILLIAM FITZGERALD, native of Lisowen, near Doon, county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of September, 1889, in the barony of Coohagh, parish of Doon, with others, murdered George Franklin;— Gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, brown hair; wore a low hard bat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Description of TWO MEN unknown, native place anknown ( supposed county Antrim), who stand charged with having, on the 24th day of February, 1891, in the barony of Loughinsholin, parish of Ballyscullin, illegally entered the lands of Colonel H. S. Bruce, J. P., in pursuit of game, and with having at same time and place pointed a gun at and threatened to shoot one, William H. Phillips, gamekeeper i— 1. Scar over left eyebrow, shaves all his face ; dark eyes, dark complexion, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair; wore a brown cap, brownish tweed coat, brown trowsers and vest. 2. High- cheek bones, shaves all his face; dark eyes, dark complexion, slight make, 6 feet high, about SO years of age, dark hair; wore a brown two- peaked cap, brownish tweed coat, brown trowsers and vest. Description of THOMAS MORAHAN ( mother's surname Morohan), native of Mount Daisy, Castlebar, who stands charged with having, on the 18th March, 1891, in the barony of Carrs, parish of Aglish, stolen a quantity of tobacco frcm tbe premises of the Midland Great Western Railway Company, at Castlebar, said tobacco being the property of one Patrick Staunton, of Castlebar :— Weak- kneed, bends forward in knees, gray or blue eyes, ordinary nose, fair complexion, tl in face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 21 years of age ; wore a dark coarse tweed cost and dark tweed trowsers and vest; is a labourer. If working wears ordinary dress of labourer. This man formerly worked in Chemical Manure Manufactories in England, and has relatives in Widnes. He went to England on 19th March. G. W. Railway, value for about £ 5:— Sullen appearance ; dark eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, fresh lace, medium mate, 5 feet 9£ inches high, about 22 years of age, brown hair; wore a black hard hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; lately signalman in M. Description of CHARLES STEWART, alias PETER HANLON, alias GEORGE BROWN, says he is a native of Armagh, who stands charged with having, on the fth day of April, 1891, in the muni- cipal borough of Waterford, parish of Trinity Without, endeavoured to defraud a number of farmers by pretending to purchase their pigs:— Hazel ejes, long sharp nose, ruddy complexion, round face, mediam make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, loots older, brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, tweed trowsers, black vest, and leggings. Description of JOHN HAIGH, native of Cross- land, near Huildersfleld, who stands charged with having, en tbe 9th April, 1891, in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Trinity Without, stolen tho sum of £ 28, a blue overcoat, beaver cloth, with black velvet collar, two pair gray web drawers, and two. blue Yager wool shirts; th-, money was • all in new coinage, gold and silver, including a 4s. piece with dent on reverse side:— His back is supposed to be padded to take away military appearance; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, mediua make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark coarse hair; wore a black felt hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest, brown satin necktie; is a private, 15th Hussars. Had a black bullock trunk, with W. L. in faint white letters on end, one of the straps broken. Warrant for arrest in hands of District Inspector, Waterfcrd. King's County, who stands charged with fearing, on or about 25th June, 1890, in the barony of Moycasbel, parish of Kilbeggan, unlawfully stolen and carried away ten doors, two locks, and other property ( now recovered), from the house of Joseph Phylan, Kilbeggan;— Dfcrk eyes, pale oomplexion, thin face, very slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 35 years of age, small black moustaohe ( may have shaved), no whiskers or beard; is a grocer's assistant, formerly a publican. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 8th May, 1891, absconded from the St Kevin's Reformatory School, at Glencree, county Wicklow:— JOHN KELLY, 2314, about 19 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 5 feet 4 inches high , stout make, fair complexion, brown hair, bhie eyes, long straight nose, ordinary mouth, long oval visagci, small cut- marks over right ey<> and on left knee; formerly belonged to 8, Chapter- place, Dublin. His parents reside at same place, or 6, Church- lane, off Lower Kevin- street. This boy will endeavour to enlist in the army, for which service he appears to have a great desire, and where several of his companions are already. He is of a rather hairy nature, and can grow a whisker at his pleasure. The School dress, all with Reformatory Stamp, consists of:— Cloth cap ( Scotch make), corduroy jacket, trowsers, and vast, elastic belt, strong nailed boo's, No. 2314.
