Ill announcementsfor Insertum i% the POLICI GAZITTI, and all communications upon them should he addressed to THI KDITOB OF THI POLICI GAZITTI, NIW SCOTLAND YAID, Loudon, 8. W. I. Particulars concerning persons whose apprehension is sought will he inserted in one issue of the roLioi GAZITTI, if they ore sufficient to enable action to be taken upon them by another force. I. Particulars as to stolen property will be likewise inserted i » one issue, if sufficient to enable th* article in question to be thereby identified. 4 In all eases where a reward is offered the name and address of some person responsible for the payment must be given, and the exact conditions be clearly stated. i. Portraits of persons whose apprehension is sought for serious offences, and engravings of stolen property, will be prominently inserted, with detailed particulars, at a cost of 15*. per portrait, and of 7s. fid. per photograph or sketch of a stolen article, including the expense ef engraving on wood. Every announcement, if for the apprehension of a person, must be guaranteed by the signature if an officer of not less rank than Superintendent; and, if the name of such person be required to U inserted, and no warrant it in force against him, the requisition must be signed by the chief tflcer ef police, or his immediate deputy, of the county, city, or borough, as the case may be. t. Announcements concerning stolen property must bi guaranteed by an officer of not less rank than Inspector, or analogous thereto. 8. Announcements of all persons to be apprehended or of stolen property bear a number, and art alphabetically arranged by counties. 9. The force which causes particulars concerning delinquents or stolen property to be insert& i % n the PoLICB GAZBrTB, mutt, on their apprehension or recovery, at once transmit to the Ed-. ter notice of the fact, referring to the number of the announcement for insertion in the next issue. 10. In all cases, the officer signing the request for insertion of any announcement, mil be wholly responsible for any proceedings whic/ i may result from such publication. 11. Announcements for the Friday issue should be forwarded so as to be received net later than noon on Wednesday, and for the Tuesday edition not later than Saturday morning. They must be clearly written on one side of the paper only, be in the usual form, and accompanied by a covering letter. 12. All payments must be in advance, either at the office, New Scotland Yard, by cheque, crossed " Drummond ! f Co.," Post Office Order payable at Charing Cross, Postal Order, or ta Stamps. 13. Advertisements are accepted for the POLICB GAZBCTB through Mr. James Willing, 124, Strand, London, the sole Agent, who will furnirk the rates on application. 14. The person appointed will be required to devote his whole time to the duties of the office. He will also be required to act as Inspector of Hackney Carriages and • Omnibuses.
