All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn • but it ia not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and stich Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this Information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fcc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Ciy " no longer necessary. DUBLIN, FRIDAY, MAY 1, 1891. NOTICE. The composition of the Hue- and- Cry will be found arranged for easy reference aa follows:— ( a.) Regulations on top of first page, ( b.) Apprehensions sought. ( 1.) Royal Irish Constabulary. ( 2.) Dublin Metropolitan Police. ( 3.) English Police. ( 4.) Scotch Police. ( c.) Animals, & c., stolen. ( d.) Property stolen. ( e.) Apprehensions. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT. ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY, Antrim. Description of the under- named joung offenders, who, on the 19th April, 1891, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School at Belfast: — 1. ANDREW GRAHAM, 18 years of age. light brown hair, gray eyes, light eyebrows, straight nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high; is a tailor; born at Partick, near Glasgow; scar under each eye, dot of ink on each hand nenr thumb; dressed in dark tweed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blue Glengarry cap, blue and white striped shirt, red and black check tie, Blucher boots, and woollen stocking*. 2. HAMILTON GREGORY, 19 years of age, brown hair, blue eyes ( sight of left not perfect), heavy eyebrows, hooked nose, ordinary mouth, pale com- plexion, round visage, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high; is a carpenter; born at 34, Upper Leeson- street, Dublin; ship, aochor, crown, and " W. B," cannon and colours, harp and crown on left arm; dressed in dark tweed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blue Glengarry cap, blue and white striped Bhirt, red and black check tie, Blucher boots, and woollen stockings. The Manager ot the Reformatory will defray the expenses of their conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture them with £ 1 for each boy. 27th April, 1891. ( 393 H. C.) Belfast. Description of EDWARD S. W. DE COBAIN, native of Belfast, who stands charged that he did, within the past two years, at Belfast, commit an act of gross ^ decency with another male person, and within the ame time, and at the place aforesxid did incite divers other male persons to commit sodomy:— Walks erect, square shoulders, corpulent, contracts eyebrows when speaking, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a silk hat, black Chesterfield overcoat, black frock coat, dark trowsers, and dark vest; is a Member of Parliament. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Detective Department, Belfast, to whom information should be sent. NOTE.— Arrest cannot be legally made without Warrant. Belfast, 15th April. 1891. Carlow. Description of MICHAEL TIMMINS ( mother's surname Maher), native of Bannagagole, who stands charged with having, on the 0, v> day of March, 1891, in the barony of Idrone West, parish of Wells, seriously assaulted one Ellen Hanlon, by kicking her in the abdomen, and thereby placing her life in danger. This man was bailed to take his trial on above charge at Carlow Quarter Sessions on the 9th instant, but failed to put in an appearance; his present where- abouts sre unknown:— Gray or blue eyes, thick nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 21 years of age, black hair; wore a soft black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; down- looking sullen appearance; is a farmer's son. Description of JOHN MORRISEY ( Mother's name Margaret Farrell), native of Cappabane, who stands charged with having, on the 19th day of April, 1891, in the barony of Tulla Upper, parish of Moynoe, unlaw- fully assaulted Denis Dillon, of Cappabane, thereby en- dangering his life:— Remarkable long hooked nose, stammers when speaking, brown eyes, sallow complexion, long face, stout make, 6 feet 8 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark hair; wore a black hat, frieze coat, tweed trowsers, and vest; is a farmer. Description of PATRICK KELLY, native of Dublin City," who stands charged witb bavin?, on the 30th March, 1891, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Tully, stolen from jihe dwellinghouse of John Dempsey, one*, pair of. " boots and seven shillings and sixpence:— Carbuncles on face, regular nose, fair completion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 26 years of age, sandy bair; wore a gray plaid coat, barracan trowsers, and tweed vest; is a labourer. These man may now be in a Dublin Hospital as a patient, as it is believed he was suffering from some disease of the skin. Warrant in hands of District Inspector^ at Kildare. ( 8< J76 c 88383.) • Description of JAMES NEWMAN, native place not known, who stands charged with having, on the 25th March, 1891, at Curragh Camp, in the barony of East OfFaly, parish of Ballysax, in his possession an ass, the property of William Brady, which was stolen on the 9th March, 1891, out of Brady's yard. See Hue- and- Cry of 17th March, 1891. The ass. has been recovered:— Regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, slender make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark hair : wore a gray tweed cap, round dark coat, plaid trowsers, wears shoes; is a tailor; frequents soldiers' barracks for the purpose of repairing uniform clothing. Description of MICHAEL SUNTERS ( mother's surname Leyden), native of Derrinkeher ( Roycroft), who stands charged with having, on the night of the 8th of April, 1891, in the barony of Carrigallen, parish of Oughteragh, been found in an outhouse, belonging to Patrick Guckian, of same townland, at 11 o'clock, P. M., armed with a loaded gun, with intent to commit felony :— Said to be half witted; gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, small round face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair; wore a bard hat, gray coat, trowseis, and vest; is a farm servant. May be found in county Fermanagh as farm servant. Information sworn, and a Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Constabulary, of Drumdarton, Ballinamore. Ballinamore, 23rd April, 1891. Description of MICHAEL GRIFFIN, native of county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 16th day of March, 1891, in the barony of Pubble- brien, parish of Croom, stolen 22 sbeep, the property of Benjamin Corneille, 16 of which he sold at the fair of Charleville, on that date:— Speaks with a slight impediment, no beard or whiskers, small dark moustache, gray or blue eyes, long thin nose, sallow complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair; wore a gray tweed cap with one peak, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, soiled; is a farmer's son. Description of WILLIAM FITZGERALD, native of Lisowen, near Doon, county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of September, 1889, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Doon, with others, murdered George Franklin;— Gray eye?, regular nose, pale complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, brown bair; wore a low hard hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Description of TWO MEN unknown, native place unknown ( supposed county Antrim), who stand charged with having, on the 24th day bf February, 1891, in the barony of Loughinsholin, parish, of Ballyscullin, illegally entered the land? of Colonel H. S. Bruce, J. P., in pursuit of game, and with having at same time and place pointed a gun at and threatened to shoot one, William H. Phillips, gamekeeper;— • 1. Scar over left eyebrow, shaves all his faice ; dark eyes, dark complexion, stout make, 5 feet- 5 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair; wore a brown cap, brownish tweed coat, brown trowsers and vest. • 2. G. W. Description of JOHN BURKE, native of Tip- perary, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 4th April, 1891, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Donohill, stolen two asses, the property of Michael Crowe, of Lisheen:— Walks with a Stoop, slovenly gait and appearance, wears all his beard, which is rather short and ragged ; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, brown hair; wore a round jerry hat, old gray coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Description of CHARLES STEWART, alias PETER HANLON, alias GEORGE BROWN, says he is a native of Armagh, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of April, 1891, in the muni- cipal borough of Waterford, parish of Trinity Without, endeavoured to defraud a number of farmers by pretending to purchase their pigs:— Hazel eyes, long sharp nose, ruddy complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, looks older, brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, tweed trowsers, black vest, and leggings. He has been arrested, and pending enquiries has been re- manded. He has been in Clonmel, Dundalk, Armagh, and Kilkenny Gaols for larcenies. Waterford, 10th April, 1891. ( 8547 c.— 88165.) Description of JOHN HAIGH, native of Cross- land, near Huddersfleld, who stands charged with having, en the 9th April. 1891, in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Trinity Without, stolen the sum of £ 28, a blue overcoat, beaver cloth, with black velvet collar, two pair gray web drawers, and two blae Yager wool shirts } the money was all' in new coinage, gold and silver, including a 4s. piece with dent on reverse side:— His back is supposed to be padded t) take away military appearance; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark coarse hair; wore a black felt hat. dark coat, trowoers, and vest, brown sitin necktie ; is a private, 1.5th Hussars. Had a black bullock trunk, with W. L. in faint whits letters on end, one of the straps tyroken. Warrant for arrest in hands of District Inspector, Waterford.
