V All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Ory are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn * but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of thia nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the oovers, or give the number it bears, as without tMff Information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, & c., a^ d of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry" no longer necessary. DUBLIN, TUESDAY, APRIL 28, 1891. NOTICE. The composition of the Hue- and- Cry will be found arranged for easy reference as follows:— ( a.) Regulations on top of first page, ( b.) Apprehensions sought. ( 1.) Royal Irish Constabulary. ( 2.) Dublin Metropolitan Police. ( 3.) English Police. ( 4.) Scotch Police. ( c.) Animals, & c., stolen, ( d.) Property stolen. ( e.) Apprehensions. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT. ROYAL IRISH CONSTABULARY. Antrim. Description of the under- named young offenders who, on the 19th April, 1891, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School at Belfast: — 1. ANDREW GRAHAM, 18 years of age, light brown hair, gray eyes, light eyebrows, straight nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high; is a tailor; born at Partick, near Glasgow; scar under each eye, dot of ink on each hand near thumb; dressed in dark freed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blue Glengarry cap, blue and white striped shirt, red and black check tie, Blucber boots, and woollen stocking*. 2. HAMILTON GREGORY, 19 years of age, brown hair, blue eyes ( sight of left not perfect), heavy eyebrows, hooked nose, ordinary mouth, pale com- plexion, round visage, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high; is a carpenter; born at 34, Upper Leeson- street, Dublin; ship, anchor, crown, and " W. B," cannon and colours, harp and crown on left arm; dressed in dark tweed jacket, trowsers, and vest, blue Glengarry cap, bine and white striped tbirt, red and black check tie, Blucher boots, and woollen stockings. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray f e expenses of their conveyance, if arr. st. d, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture them with £ 1 for each boy. 27th April, 1891. Description of MICHAEL TIMMINS ( mother's surname Maher), native of Bannagagole, who stands charged with having, on the 9th day of March, 1891, in the b , rony of Idrone West, parish of Wells, seriously assaulted one Ellen Hanlon, by kicking her in the aM imen tnd thereby placing her life in danger. This man was bailed to take his trial on above charge at ' arlow Quarter Sessions on the 9th instant, but failed to put in an appearance; his present where- abouts tire unknown:— Gray or blue eyes, thick nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 in hps hi h a out 21 years of age, black hair; wore » soft bl. ck hat. dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; down- looking » ulle- t apoearance; is a farmer's son. Description of FRANK TAYLOR, native of Salon, England, who stands charged with having, on the 21 it April, 1891, in the barony of Cork, parish of St. Ann's, Shandon, stolen about £ 27, and a cheque for £ 7 on Bank of Ireland, the property of Captain M'Mahon and Lieutenant Higginson, Shropshire Regi- ment, Cork Barracks, and also with desertion from the army:— Hazel eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 23 years of age, light brown hair; wore a gray tweed coat, gray trowsers, gray vest, small fair moustache; is an officer's servant and prirate soldier. Description of MICHAEL MURPHY, native of Meenahoney, who stands charged with having, on the 17th March, 1891, in the barony of East Muskerry, parish of Donoughmore, seriously assaulted John Casey:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark brown hair ; wore a black tweed coat, gray tweed trowsers, tweed vest; is a labourer. Description of JAMES DORRIAN ( mother's surname M'Allister), native of Greyabbey, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd March, 1891, in the barony of Lower Ards, parish of Greyabbey, assaulted John Kane, by knocking him. down and fracturing his skull, from the effects of which he died on 3rd March, 1891:— Slightly pockpitted, near- sighted, wears glasses generally, gray weak eyes, sharp nose, fair complexion, regular red face, medium make, 5 leet 6 inches high, about 55 years of age, light brfown hair; wore aeoft brown hat, black coat, brass watch chain; is- a weaver. Description of FRANCIS BRENNAN ( mother's surname Lenehan), native of Kilcloghan, who stands charged with having, on the night of 1st or morning of 2nd March, 1891, in the barony of Frenchpark, parish of Creeve, stolen a heifer, the property of Patrick Mullany ( see Hue- and- Cry dated 10th March, 1891):— Delicate appearance, dark eyes, rather short nose, pale sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a cloth cap with two peaks, dark tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a farmer's son. Description of JOHN BURKE, native of Tip- perary, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 4th April, 1891, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Donohill, stolen two asses, the property of Michael Crowe, of Lisheen;— Walks with a stoop, slovenly gait and appearance, wears all his beard, which is rather short and ragged; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, fnll round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 50 years of age, brown hair; wore a round jerry hat, old grey coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Descriptions of DANIEL DALY ( mother's surname Skene), native of Benasup, MICHAEL CAL- LAGHAN ( mother's surname Lenahan), native of lisheen, and DENIS LEARY ( mother's surname Keeffe), sative of Lisheen, who stand charged with having, on the 20th February, 1891, in the barony of Magcnihy, parish of Nohovaldaly, attacked the dwelling- house of Daniel Casey, of Lisheen, and broken the windows with stones, also assaulting Daniel Casey:— 1. Gray eyes, long nose, fair complexion, thin face, Medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 24 years of sge, fair hair; wore a tweed cap, gray sack coat, gray Irowsers and vest s is a carpenter. 2. Bow- legged, awkward gait, leans forward when ' walking, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair lair; wore a tweed cap, dark sack coat, dark tweed trowsers, and flannel vest; is a labourer. 3. Brcwn eyes, hooked nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a soft bat, tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son. Description of JAMES MANNING, native of county Meath, who stands charged with having, on the 10th day of February, 1891, in the barony of Magonihy, parish of Killarney, committed wilful and conupt perjury:— Three teeth lost from front of month, steeped shoulders, short side whiskers, no moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, rcund face, stent make, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 50 years of age, sandy hair turning gray; wore a hard black hat, gray sack coat, gray trowsers, and vest; rather good looking, pretty well dressed, looks like a well- to- do farmer; is a caretaker on Land Cor- poration farm. Description of PATRICK KELLY, native of Dublin City, who stands charged witb having, on the 30th March 1891, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Tully, stolen from the dwellinghouse of John Dempsey, one pair of boots and seven shillings and sixpence:— Carbuncles on face, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 26 years of age, sandy hair; wore a gray plaid ceat, barracan trowsers, and tweed vest; is a labourer. This man may now be in a Dublin Hospital as a patient, as it is believed he was suffering from some disease of the skin. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, at Kildare. Description of JAMES NEWMAN, native place net kr. own, who stands charged with having, on the 25th March, 1891, at Curragh Camp, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Ballysax, in his possession an ass, the property of* William. Brady, which was stolen on the 9th March, 1891, out of Brady's yard, gee Hue- and- Cry of 17th March, 1891. The ass has been recovered:— Regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, slender make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark hair; were a gray tweed cap, rrund dark coat, plaid trowsers, wears shoes; is a tailor; frequents soldiers' barracks for the purpose ot repairing uniform clothing. Description of JAMES MULLIGAN, native of Omagh. who stands charged with having, on the 21st day of February, 1891, in the barony of Ballybritt, parish of Birr, stolen the sum of £ 13 5s. from Captain Money, of the York and Lancaster Regiment, Birr Barracks:— bear over right eyebrow, small tumour over right eyelid, two bald spots on back of head caused by cut- narks, slightly bow- legged, gray eyes, regular nose, dark florid complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 7^ inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark hard hat, dark tweed coat and vest with yellow check lines; is an officer's servant; enlisted at Warrington, and has worked as labourer in iron works, Leeds. Description of MICHAEL SUNTERS ( irother's surname leyden), native of Derrinkeher ( Roycroft), who stands charged with having, on the night of the 8th of April, 1891, in the barony of Carrigallen, parish of Cughteragh, been found in an outhouse, belonging to Patrick Guckian, of same townland, at 11 o'clock, P. M., aimed with a loaded gun, with intent to commit felony :— Said to he half witted; gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, small round face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, dajk hair; wore a hard hat, gray coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farm servant. May be found in county Fermanagh as farm servant. Information sworn, and a Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Constabulary of Drumdarton, Ballinamore. Ballinamore, 23rd April, 1891. Limerick, Description of MICHAEL GRIFFIN, native of county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 16th day of March, 1891, in tie barony of Pubble- brien, pariah of Croom, stolen 22 sheep, the property of Benjamin Corneille, 16 of which he sold at the fair of Charleville, on that date:— Speaks with a slight impediment, no beard or whiskers, small dark moustache, gray or blue eyes, long thin nose, sallow complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair; wore a gray tweed cap with one peak, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, soiled; is a farmer's son. Description of WILLIAM FITZGERALD, native of Lisowen, near Doon, county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of September, 1889, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Doon, with others, murdered George Franklin:— Gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, brown hair; wore a low hard hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Description of TWO MEN unknown, native place unknown ( supposed county Antrim), who stand charged with having, on the 24th day of February, 1891, in the barony of Loughinsholin, parish of Ballyscullin, illegally entered the lands of Colonel H. S. Bruce, J. P., in pursuit of game, and with having at same time and place pointed a gun at and threatened to shoot one, William H. Phillips, gamekeeper i— 1. Scar over left eyebrow, shaves all his face; dark eyes, dark complexion, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair; wore a brown cap, brownish tweed coat, brown trowsers and vest. 2. High- cheek bones, shaves all his face; dark eyes, dark complexion, slight make, 6 feet high, about years of age, dark hair; wore a brown two- peaked cap, brownish tweed coat, brown trowsers and vest. Description of PATRICK LEONARD, native of Brackna, oounty Kildare, who stands charged with having, on the night of 9th or morning » f 10th instant, in the barony of Maryborough West, parish of Clon- enagh and Clonaheen, feloniously stolen from the dwellinghouse of Daniel Moore, of Cloneygowan, a new pair of men's bellows- tongued laced boots, no nails, brass rivets in shank, soles pegged; a man's black serge MICHAEL BRENNAN ( stealing), Hue- and- Cry, 13th March, not arrested. ( 7530 86189.) Waterford. Description of CHARLES STEWART, alias PETER HANLON, alias GEORGE BROWN, says he is a native of Armagh, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of April, 1891, in the muni- cipal borough of Waterford, pariah of Trinity Without, endeavoured to defraud a number of farmers by pretending to purchase their pigs:— Hazel eyes, long sharp nose, ruddy complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, looks older, brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, tweed trowsers, black vest, and leggings. He has been arrested, and pending enquiries has been re- manded. He has been in Clonmel, Dundalk, Armagh, and Kilkenny Gaols for larcenies. Waterford, 10th April, 1891. ( 8547 C.— 88165.) Description of JOHN HAIGH, native of Cross- land, near Huddersfield, who stands charged witb having, en the 9th April, 1891, in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Trinity Without, stolen the sum of £ 28, a blue overcoat, beaver cloth, with black velvet collar, two pair gray web drawers, and two blue Yager wool shirts; the money was all in neir coinage, gold and silver, including a 4s. piece with dent on reverse side:— His back is supposed to be padded to take away military appearance; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark coarse hair; wore a black felt hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest, brown satin necktie ; is a private, 15th Hussars. Had a black bullock trunk, with W. L. in faint white letters on end, one of the straps broken. Warrant for arrest in hands of District Inspector, Waterford. This man left Waterford by 2.30 p. m.. train for Dublin on 9th instant. Waterford, 11th April, 1891. ( 8560 c— 88196.) Dark eyes, pale complexion, - thin face, very slight make, 5 feat 7 inches hijY about 35 years of age, small black moustache ( tnaZ have shaved), no whiskers or beard; is a proier. assistant, formerly a publican. Long thin nose, fresh complexion, stout make, middle height, about 45 or 50 years of age, grayish hair, grayish moustache, and long beard; wore a soft black hat and long black coat patched in back of shoulders, carried a blackthorn stick; is a tramp. 2.
