All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Duhlia Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn • but it is nbt necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. ) ? Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be - inserted. All Descriptions of persons whoso apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. Carlow. Description of MICHAEL TIMMINS ( mother's surname Maher), native of Bannagagole, who stands charged with having, on the 9th day of March, 1891, in the barony of Idrone West, parish of Wells, Seriously assaulted one Ellen Hanlon, by kicking her in the abdomen, and thereby placing her life in danger. This man was bailed to take his trial on above change at Carlow Qaarter Sessions on the 9th instant, but failed to put in an appearance; his present where- abouts ere unknown:— Gray or bine eyes, thick nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 21 years of age, black hair « wore a soft black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; down- looking sullen appearance; is a farmer's son. A Bench Warrant has been issued for his arrest, and is in the heads of the District Inspector at Bagnals- town. Bagnalstown, 10th April, 1891. ( 8204 88166.) Description of ELIZA TALLON, alias HALIGAN, native of Killenure, county Wick low, who stands charged with having, on the 13th January, 1891, in the barony of Rathvilly, parish of Tullow Phelan, deserted her male child, about 10 days old:— Good looking, gray eyes, thin sharp nose, sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 28 years of age, dark hair; is a servant, and was last at * situation near Ovoca county Wicklow. Description of MICHAEL FOX ( mother's sur- name O'Donohue), native of Ennis, who stands charged with having, ( in the 22nd March, 1891, at Ennis, in the barony of Islands, parish of Drumcliff, assaulted Philip Bolger, Sergeant, R. I. C., while in the execution of his duty, by striking him on the head with a bottle, thereby causing him grievous bodily harm;— Short upper lip, speaks hesitatingly, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, small face, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 24 years of ar e, looks younger, dark hair, small dark moustache, a smart swaggering little man; wore a dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a slater. Description of MICHAEL MURPHY, native of Meenahoney, who stands charged with haviner, on the 17th March. 1891, in the barony of East Muskerry, parish of Donoughmore, seriously assaulted John Casey:_ Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark brown hair ; wore a black tweed coat, gray tweed trowsers, tweed vest; is a labourer. Description of JAMES HICKEY, native of Skehanore, who stands charged with having, on the 12th March, 1891, in the barony of W. D. W. Car- bery, parish of Schull, unlawfully assaulted one Thomas Keating, thereby endangering his life:— Deep scar on forehead, vory large hands, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, stout make, 5 foot 9 inches high, abont 24 years of age, dark hair; is a farmer's son. Description of DENIS CONNELL, native of Doneraile, county Cork, who stands charged with having, on tho morning of the 12th February, 1891, in the barony of Fermoy, parish of Caherduggan, attempted to commit larceny, and with having set fire to a hay- rick, the property of John Dunlea, of Bally- ellis:— Rowdy appearance, large mouth, wild gray eyes, cooked nose, ruddy complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches higb, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a brown tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, and brown tweed vest; is a labourer, was in the militia. Description of JAMES DORRIAN ( mother's surname M'Allister), native of Grey abbey, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd March, 1891, in the barony of Lower Ards, parish of Greyabbey, assaulted John Kane, by knocking him down and fracturing his skull, from the effects ol which he died on 3rd March, 1891:— Slightly pockpitted, near- sighted, wears glasses generally, gray weak eyes, sharp nose, fair complexion, regular red face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 55 years of age, light brown hair; wore a soft brown hat, black coat, brass watch chain; is a weaver. Description of MARTIN KEANE ( mother's surname Donohoe). native of Ballindiff, county Gal- way, who stands charged with having, on the 25th March, 1891, in the barony of Kiltartan, parish of Kinvarra, stolen £ 15 from his father's dwellinghouse, viz., one £ 10 note and one £ 5 note:— Pimples on his jaws, slight cist ia his eyes, has the habit of looking up and sideways, blus eyes, ragular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about io years of age, brown hair; wore a dark frieze sack coat, twe. d trowsers and vest; is a gardener. Descriptions of DANIEL DALY ( mother'ssurname Sloane), native of Renasup, MICHAEL CAL- LAGHAN ( mother's surname Lenahan), native of Lisheen, and DENIS LEARY ( mother's surname Keeffe), native of Lisheen, who stand charged with having, on the 20th February, 1891, in the barany of Magonihy, parish of Nohovaldaly, attacked the dwelling- house of Daniel Casey, of Lisheen, and broken the windows with stones, also assaulting Daniel Casey:— 1. Gray eyes, long nose, fair complexion, thia face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair hair; wore a tweed cap, gray sack coat, gray trowsers and vest; is a carpenter. 2. Bow- legged, awkward gait, leans forward when walking, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inchas high, about 20 years of age, lair hair; wore a tweed cap, dark sack coat, dark tweed trowsers, and flannel veat; is a labourer. 3. Brown eyes, hooked nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inchis high, abont 2< l years of age, fair hair; wore a soft hat, tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son. Description of JAMES MANNING, native of county Meath, who stands charged with having, on the 10th day of February, J891, in the barony of Magonihy, parish of Killarney, committed wilful and corrupt perjury Three teeth lost from front of mouth, stooped shoulders, short side whiskers, no moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 50 years of age, sandy hair turning gray; wore a hard black hat, gray sack coat, gray trowsers, and vest; rather good looking, pretty well dressed, looks like a well- to- do farmer; is a caretaker on Land Cor- Soration farm. Description of JAMES NEWMAN, native place not known, who stands charged with having, on the 25th March, 1891, at Curragh Camp, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Ballysax, in his possession an ass, the property of William Brady, which was stolen on the 9th March, 1891, out of Brady's yard. See Hue- and- Cry of 17th March, 1891. The ass has been recovered:— Regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, slender make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark hair; wore a gray tweed cap, round dark coat, plaid trowsers, wears shoes; is a tailor; frequents soldiers' barracks for the purpose of repairing uniform clothing. Description of JAMES MULLIGAN, native of Omagh. who stindu charged with having, on the 21st day of February, 1891, in the barony of Ballybritt, parish of Birr, stolen the sum of £ 13 Si. from Captain Money, of the York and Lancaster Regiment, Birr Barracks:— Scar over right eyebrow, small tumour over right eyelid, two bald spots on back of head caused by oat- marks, slightly bow- legged, gray eyes, regular nose, dark florid complexion, round Jace, very stoat make, 5 feet 7} inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark hard hat, dark tweed coat and vest with yellow check lines; is an officer's servant; enlisted at Warrington, and has workei as labourer in iron works, Leeds. Description of MICHAEL GRIFFIN, native of county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 16th day of March, 1891, in tbe barony of Pubble- brien, parish of Croom, stolen 22 sheep, the property of Benjamin Corneille, 16 of which he sold at the fair of Charleville, on that date:— Speaks with a slight impediment, no board or whiskers, small dark moustache, gray or blue eyes, long thin nose, sallow complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 incites high, about 28 years of age, black hair ; wore a gray tweed cap with one peak, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, soiled: is a farmer's son. Description of WILLIAM FITZGERALD; native of Lisowen, near Doon, county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of September, 1889, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Doon, with others, murdered George Franklin :— Gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about .24 years of age, brown hair; wore a low hard hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Description of TWO MEN unknown,. native place with having, on the 24th day of February, 1891, in the barony of Loughinsholin. parish of Ballyscullin, illegally entered the lands of Colonel H. S. Bruce, J. p., in pursuit of game, and with having at same time and place pointed a gun at and threatened to shoot one, . William H. Phillips, gamekeeper — 1. Scar over left eyebrow, shaves all his. face; dark eyes, dark complexion, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark bair} wore » brown cap, brownish tweed coat,' brown trowsers. and'vest. 2. Description of FRANCIS BRENNAN ( mother's surname Lenehan\ native of Kilcloghan, who stands charged with having, on the night of 1st or morning of 2nd March, 1891, in the barony of Frenchpark, parish of Creeve, stolen a heifer, the property of Patrick Mullany ( see Hue- and- Cry dated 10th March, 1891):— Delicate appearance, dark eyes, rather short nose, pale sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a cloth cap with two peaks, dark tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a farmer's son. This man will try to emigrate if possible. Strokestown, 13th March, 1891. ( 7853 87152). Tipperary. MICHAEL BRENNAN ( stealing), Hue- aud- Cry, 13th March, not arrested. ( 7530 86189.) Waterford. Description of CHARLES STEWART, alias PETER HANLON, alias GEORGE BROWN, says he is a native of Armagh, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of April. 1891, in the muni- cipal borough of Waterford, parish of Trinity Without, endeavoured to defraud a number of farmers by pretending to purchase their pigs:— Hazel eyes, long sharp no3e, ruddy complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, looks older, brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, tweed trowsers, black vest, and leggings. He has been arrested, and pending enquiries has been re- manded. He has been in Clonmel, Dundalk, Armagh, and Kilkenny Gaols for larcenies. Waterford, 10th April, 1891. ( 8547 88165.) Description of JOHN HAIGH. native of Cross- land, near Huddersfield, who stands charged with having, en the 9th April. 1891, in the barony of Middlethird, parish of Trinity Without, stolen the sum of £ 28, a blue overcoat, beaver cloth, with black velvet collar, two pair gray web drawers, and two blue Yager wool shirts; the money was all in new coinage, gold and silver, including a 4s. piece with dent on reverse side:— His back is supposed to be padded to take away military appearance; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 25 yoars of age, dark coarse hair; wore a black felt hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest, brown satin necktie ; is a private, 15th Hussars. Had a black bullock trunk, with W. L. in faint white letters on end, one of the straps broken. Warrant for arrest in hands , of District Inspector, Waterford. This man left Waterford by 2.30 p. m. train for Dublin on 9th instant. Waterford, 11th April, 1891. ( 8560 c— 88196.) Description of THOMAS DUFFY, native of deerPark, King's County, who stands charged with saving, on or about 25th June, 1890, in the barony of MoycasHel, parish of Kilbeggan, unlawfully stolen and carried away ten doors, two locks, and other property ( now recovered), from the house of Joseph Phylan, Kilbeggan;— Dark eyes, pale complexion, thin face, very slight make, 5 feist 7 inches high, about 35 years of age, small black moustache ( may have shaved), no whiskers or beard; is a grocer's assistant, formerly a publican. Speaks with an English accent. Warrant issued. Kilbeggan, 17th March, 1891. ( 8112 c.— 87297.) Description of a MAN and WOMAN, names and native place unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 17th February, 1891, in . the barony of Moy- ashel and Magheraternon parish of Dysart, feloniously stolen from Bridget Looran, of Dysart, certain articles of dress, on the highway, at Rathnamuddagh :— 1. Long thin nose, fresh complexion, stout make, middle height, about 45 or 50 years of age, grayish hair, grayish moustache, and long beard; wore a soft black hat and long black coat patched in back of shoulders, carried a blackthorn stick; is a tramp. 2. Fresh complexion, tall, younger than the man, but age unknown, black hair; wore a gray shawl and black dress, no covering on the head ; is a tramp. Kilbeggan, 19th Feb., 1891. ( 7640 c.— 86523.) Description of GARRET DOYLE ( mother's sur- name Doyle), native of Wexford, who stands charged with having, on the 25th day of March, 1891, in the barony of Shelmalier East, parish of Ardcavan, stolen three lambs, the property of Nicholas Thornton, of Description of RICHARD DONNELLY ( mother's- surname M'Donald), native of Ballycullane, who stands charged with having, on the 30th March, 1891, in the barony of Shelburne, parish of Owenduff, unlaw- fully broken into the house of Thomas Martin, of Ballytarsna, and stolen therefrom a tweed trowsers, cross- bar check pattern, nearly new; valu3 for 6s. 9d.:— Down- looking and foolish appearance ; gray eyes, thick nose, sallow complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, 19 or 20 years of age, fair bair; wore an old brown coat, tweed trowsers and vest, all much worn and shabby- looking; is a labourer and discharged soldier. Description of Licence holder, c 1,074, THOMAS WALSH, native of New Ross, who stands charged with having, about the 18th February, 1891, in the barony of Bantry, parish of St. Mary's, failed to notify his arrival to the police, he being a convict on ticket of licence, and bis present whereabonts are unknown:— Slightly pock pitted, and " T. W. M. P." on inside of right arm, " Kate and Ellen" on left fore- arm; gray eyes, thin nose, fresh complexion, oval face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches higb, about 46 years of age, brown hair; wore a round hard hat, long dark coat, dark trowsers, and dark tweed vest; is a tailor. PATRICK KELLY, alias MOFFAT ( indecent assault), Hue- and- Cry, 24th February not arrested. ( 7017c 85272.) Wicklow. Description of HENRY JOHNSTON, native of county Wexford ( supposed Now Ross), who stands charged with having, on tbe 2nd day of December, 1890, in the barony of Newcastle, parish of Kilcommon, stolen five bags of oats, the property of Margaret Jones, of Bohana:— Wants an upper front tooth, mark of boil on left cheek near ear, dark eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 27 years of age; wore an old gray tweed coat, trowsars, and vest, all much worn; is a tramping labourer. Warrant for his arrest in the hands of District Inspector at Wicklow. Wicklow, 4th December, 1890. ( 6391 84062.) PATRICK KERRIGAN alias CONNOR or COMBER ( perjury), Hue- and- Cry, 20th February, not arrested. ( 5gi48 c — 82977.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. C Division. Particulars relative to Convict THOMAS TOOMEY, A 318, convictad at Dublin City Com- mission, on 5th August, 1881, for larceny from the person, and sentenced to 10 years' penal seivitude:— 26 years of age on conviction, single, black hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, rather cocked nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, round visage, 6tout make, 5 feet 3 inches high, left arm has been broken, sinews contracted, anchor oi wiist. right arm tattooed; is a labouror; resided before conviction at Dabjin, was born at Cork, where his friends reside. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison, on Licence, 2nd August, 1890. He has not reported himself at Cork since 13th ult., and his present whereabouts is . unknown. In the event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under section 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., oap. 112. 23rd March, 1891. ( 389 H. C.) Particulars relative to Convict JOHN RYAN, c 132, convicted at Monaghan Spring Assizes, on 5th March, 1887-, for larceny of £ 130, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 25 years of age, on conviction, single; born at Dublin, where his iriends reside, no fixed residence • before conviction :— Dark hair, blue eyes, dark eye! rows, tegular nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 5£ i inches high, abscess mark left side of neck, swelled veins on left testicle, top of head getting bald; is a dealer. Stolen by means of housebreaking on the night of Monday, 30th, or morning of Tuesdav, 31st March, 1891, from a jeweller's shop in this burgh :— A gent's English lever watch, No. 34,226, value £ 4 10*. ; a gent's Geneva watch, No. not known, value 30*.; two lady's Geneva watches ( Swiss make), No. not known, value 25s. each. The thief or thieves gained an entrance by breaking a pane of glass in the back window, removing the suib, and raising the lower sash. The window is secured with three stanchions, with crossbar about 3 feet from sill of window, and the space between the stanchion and through which the thief entered is inches. Foot- marks on paper inside the window show the impression of a small boot with round tackets. A number of valuable watches and other jewellery wore left in the window untouched. Please cause the usual inquiry with the view of tracing the stolon property, and also the thief or thieves, and communicate with THOMAS FERGUSON, Superintendent. Description of three head of cattle, the property of Mathew M'Namara, which were stole a from the lands of Killinane, parish of Dysart, barony of Inchiquin, on the 3rd day of April, 1891:— A two- year- old cow, in Calf, red colour, with a white spot on the hip and forehead. A year and a- halt old bullock, red and white colour, large thick horns, in poor condition. One heifer, yearling, red colour, with white spots on the hips and forehead. All value for about £ 46. Description of 10 bullocks, the property of John Campion, which were stolen from the lands of Iron- mills, parish of Abbeyleix, barony of Cullenagh, on the night of the 23rd March 1891:— T AO white over body, with red nesks. Two blood red, without any white. One all gray, smaller than the others. Two gray with red spots, one of these had shell oft left horn. One red with white across shoulder and hips. Two speckled. A male ass, brown oolour, white bally, some hair off tail, not shod, 10 years old, and value for £ 1 10*. 2. A female ass, brown colour, stringhalted in hind legs, white belly, not shod, 10 years old, and value for £ 1. These asses are supposed to have been sold at the fair ot Clenmel, on the 4th instant.
