No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn • but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notioes respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. ar- JD! All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the namo of the person in whose hands it is. But the » ' - stabulary should remember that they cajinot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have tho Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. *•* Should irregularities ariBo in tho delivery of the Hue- and- Ory, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities aro particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, Ac., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description of ELIZA TALLON, alias HALIGAN, native oi Killenure, county Wicklow, who stands charged with having, on the 13th January, 1891, in the barony of Rathvilly, parish of Tullow Phelan, deserted her male child, about 10 days old:— Good looking, gray eyes, thin sharp nose, sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 28 years of age, dark hair; is a servant, and was lust at a situation near Ovoca county Wicklow. Description of MICHAEL FOX ( mother's sur- name O'Donohue), native of Ennis, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd March, 1891, at Ennis, in the barony ot Islands, parish of DrumclifF, assaulted Philip Bolgar, Sergeant, R. I. C., while in the execution of his duty, by s. riking him on tbe head with a bottlo, thereby causing him grievous bodily harm;— Short up > er lip, speaks hesitatingly, gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, smalt face, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 24 years of tye, looks younger, dark hair, small darkmouet iche, a smart swaggering lit lo man; wore a dark Cuat, trowsers, a- id vest; is a slater. Description of MICHAEL MURPHY, native of Meenahoney, who stands chtrgod with having, on the 17th March, 1891, in the barony of East Muskerry, parish of Donoughmore, seriously assaulted John Casey:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark brown hair ; wore a black tweed coat, gray tweed trowsew, tweed vest; is a labourer. Description of JAMES HICKEY, native of Skehanore, who stands charged with having, on the 12th March, 1891, in the barony of W. D. W. Car- bery, parish of Schull, unlawfully assaulted one Thomas Keating', thereby endangering his life:— Deep scar on forehead, very large hands, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh cons plaxion, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 24 years of ego, dark hair; is a farmer's son. Description of DENIS CONNELL, native of Doneraile, county Cork, who stands charged with having, on tbe morning of the 12th February, 1891, in the barony cf Fermoy. parish of Caherduggan, attempted to commit larceny, and with having set fire t6 a hay- rick, the property of John Dunlea, of Bally- ellis:— Rowdy appearance, large mouth, wild gray eyes, cocked nose, ruddy comp'oxion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a brown tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, and brown tweed vest; is a labourer, was in the militia. Description of JAMES DORRIAN ( mother's surname M'Allister), native of Greyabbey, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd March, 1891, in the barony ol Lower Ards, parish of Greyabbey, assaulted John Kane, by knocking him down and fracturing his skull, frona the effects ot which he died on 3rd March, 1891 :— Slightly pockpitted, near- sighted, wears glasses generally, gray weak eyes, sharp nose, fair complexion, regular red face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 55 years of age, light brown hair; wore a soft brown hat, black coat, brass watch ohain ; is a weaver. Descriptions of DANIEL DALY ( mother's surname Sloane), native of Renasup, MICHAEL CAL- LAGHAN ( mother's surname Lenahan), native of Lisheen, and DENIS LEARY ( mother's surname Keeffe), native of Lisheen, who stand charged with having, on the 20th February, 1891, in the barony of Magonihy, parish of Nohovaldaly, attacked the dwelling- house of Daniel Casey, of Lishean, and broken the windows with stones, also assaulting Daniel Casey:— 1. Gray eyes, long nose, fair complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair hair; wore a tweed cap, gray sack coat, gray trowsers and vest; is a carpenter. 2. Tte ass has been recovered:— Regular nose, fair complexion, thin faoe, slender make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches higb, about 26 years of age, dark hair j wore a gray tweed cap, round dark coat, plaid trowsers, wears ehoes; is a tailor; frequents soldiers' barracks for the purpose of repairing uniform clothing. Description of JAMES MULLIGAN, native of Omagh. who stinds charged with having, on the 21st day of Fobruary, 1891, in the barony of Ballybritt, parish of Birr, stolen the sum of £ 13 5 » . from Captain Money, of the York and Lancaster Regiment, Birr Barracks:— Scar over right eyobrow, small tumour over right eyelid, two bald spots on back of head caused by cut- marks, slightly bow legged, gray eyes, regular nose, dark florid complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 7£ inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark hard hat, dark tweed coat and vest with yellow check lines; is an officer's servant; enlisted at Warrington, and has worked as labourer in iron works, Leeds. Description of MICHAEL GRIFFIN, native of county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on tt e 16th d* y of March, 1891, in the barony of Pubble- brien, parisS of Croom, stolen 22 sheep the property of Benjamin Corneille, 16 of which ho sold at the fair of Charle- nlte, on that dates— Speaks with a slight impediment, no beard or whiskers, small dark moustache, gray or blue eyes, long thin nose, sallow complexion, long th'< n face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair ; wore a gray tweed cap with one peak, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, soiled; is a farmer's son. Description of PATRICK DRISCOLL, nativo of Odorney, county Kerry, who stands charged with having, in the month of November, 1890, in the barony of borough of Limerick, parish of St. John's, unlawfully carnally known a girl, Mary Daly, under the age of 13 years:— Gray eyes, very large nose, sallow complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 6 incLes higb, about 22 years of age; wore an old gray tweed coat, tweed trowsers, and vest; is a wire worker. Description of WILLIAM FITZGERALD, native of Lisowen, near Doon, county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of September, 1889, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Doon, with others, murdered George Franklin:— Gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, brown hair; wore a low hard hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. W Description of TWO MEN unknown, native place unknown ( supposed county Antrim), who stand charged with baring, on the 24th day of February, 1891, in the barony of Loughinsholin, parish of Ballyscullin, illegally entered the lands of Colonel H. S. Bruce, j. r., in pursuit of game, and with having at same time and place pointed a gun at and threatened to shoot one, William H. Phillips, gamekeeper;— - L, 1. Scar over left eyebrow, shftvae- utt his face ; dark eyes, dark complexion, stont make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair; wore a brown cap, brownish tweed coat, brown trowsers and vest. 2, High- cheek bones, shaves all bis face; dark eyes, dark complexion, slight make, 6 feet higb, about SO years of age, dark hair ; wore a brown two- peaked cap, browrisb tweed coat, brown trowsers and vest. Roscommon Description of FRANCIS BRENNAN ( mother's surname Lenehan), native of Kilcloghan, who stands charged with having, on the night of 1st or morning of 2nd March, 1891, in the barony of Frenchpark, parish of Creeve, stolen a heifer, the property of Patrick Mullany ( see Hue- and- Cry dated 10th March, 1891):— Delicate appearance, dark eyes, rather short nose, pale sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a cloth cap with two peaks, dark tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a farmer's son. This man will try to emigrate if possible. Strokestown, 13th March, 1891. ( 7853 c.— 87152). Tipperary. MICHAEL BRENNAN ( stealing),: Hue- and- Cry, 13th March, not arrested. ( 7530 c— 86189.) Tyrone. Description of a- MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 18th March, 1891, in the barony of Upper Dungannon, parish of Derryloran, obtained sums of money from various persons by falsely pretending that he was a Jay brother of the Redemptorist Order in Dublin, and that he was collecting money to pay a debt contracted by the Redemptorist Fathers in Dublin:— Large undershot mouth, upper front teeth large, close, and projecting, round shoulders, somewhat stooped, bine eyes, regular nose, pale sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feat 6 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair, turning gray; wore a black clerical coat, black trowsers, and vest; is a vagrant, dressed in the garb of a R. C. Priest. This man goes about the country gathering money on tha pretence that he is a lay brother, and collecting for a religious com- munity. He refuses to give his name or address or any reference whatsoever. It is believed that he may have committed similar crimes elsewhere. He has been remanded to Omagh Gaol pending further enquiries. Any information respecting his previous career to be sartt at once to the D. I. at Cookstown. Cookstown, 21st March, 1891. ( 8230 c.— 87517.) Waterford. DAVID LIVINGSTONE ( obtaining watches under false pretenses), Hue- and- Cry, 13th March, not arrested. ( 7314 c.— 85799). JAMES HAUGHEY ( assault), Hue- and- Cry of 80th February, 1891, not arrested. ( 5770 81359.) Westmeath. Description of THOMAS DUFFY, native of Deerpark. King's County, who stands charged with Having, on or about 25th June, 1390, in the barony of Moycashel, parish of Kilbeggan, unlawfully stolen and carried away ten doors, two locks, and other property ( now recovered), from the house of Joseph Phylan, Kilbeggan;— Dark eyes, pale complexion, tbin face, very alight maka, 5 foot 7 inches high, about 35 years of age, small black moustache ( may have shaved), no whiskers or beard; is a grocer's assistant, formerly a publican. Speaks with an English accent. Warrant issued. Kilbeggan, 17th March, 1891. ( 8112 c.— 87297.) Description of a MAN and WOMAN, names and native place unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 17th February, 1891, in the barony of Moy- ashel and Magheraternon, parish of Dysart, feloniously stolen from Bridget Looraa, of Dysart, certain articles of dress, on the highway, at Rathnamuddagh:— 1. Long thin nose, fresh complexion, stout make, middle height, about 45 or 50 years of age, grayish hair, grayish moustache, and long beard; wore a soft black hat and long black coat patched in back of shoulders, carried a blackthorn stick; is a tramp. 2. Fresh complexion, tall, younger than the man, but age unknown, black hair; wore a gray shawl and black dress, no covering on the haad ; is a tramp. Kilbeggan, 19th Feb., 1891. ( 7640 c.— 86523.) Description of Licence holder, c 1,074, THOMAS WALSH, native of New Ross, who stands charged with having, about the 18th February, 1891, in the barony of Bantry, parish of St. Mary's, failed to notify his arrival to the police, he being a convifct on ticket of licence, and his present whereabouts are unknown :— Slightly pock pitted, and " T. W. M. P." on inside of right arm, " Kate and Ellen" on left fore- arm; gray eyes, thin nose, fresh complexion, oval face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches higb, about 46 years of age, brown hair; wore a round hard hat, long dark coat, dark trowsers, and dark tweed vest; is a tailor. Description of HENRY JOHNSTON, native of county Wexford ( supposed Naw Ross), who stands charged with having, on the 2nd day of December, 1890, in the barony of Newcastle, parish of Kilcommon, stolen Ave bags of oats, the property of Margaret Jones, of Bohana:— Wants an upper front tooth, mark of boil on left cheek near ear, dark eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 27 years of age; wore an old gray tweed coat, trowsars, and vest, all much worn; is a tramping labourer. Warrant for his arrest in the hands of District Inspector at Wicklow. Wicklow, 4th December, 1890. ( 6391 c.— 84062.) PATRICK KERRIGAN alias CONNOR or COMBER ( perjury), Hue- and- Cry, 20th February, not arrested. ( 5848 c — 82977.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. C Division. Particulars relative to Convict THOMAS TOOMEY, A 318, convictad at Dnblin City Com- mission, on 5th August, 1881, for larceny from the person, and sentenced to 10 years' penal saivitude:— 26 years of age on conviction, single, black hair, hazal eyes, dark brown eyebrows, rather cocked nosa, medium mouth, sallow complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high, ieft arm has been broken, sinews contracted, anchor on wiist, tight arm tattooed; is a labourer: resided befora conviction at Dublin, was born at Cork, where his friends reside. This man was released from Mouutjoy Prison, on Licance, 2nd August, 1890. He bas not reported himsalf at Cork since 13th ult., and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest, he should be dealt with under section 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 23rd March, 1891. ( 389 H. C.) Particulars relative to Convict JOHN RYAN, c 132, convicted at Monaghan Spring Assizes, on 5th March, 1887, for larceny of £ 130, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 25 years of age, on conviction, single j born at Dublin, where his mends reside, no fixed residence before conviction:— Dark hair, blue eyes, dark eyebrows, regular nose, medium month, sallow complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 5$ inches high, abscess mark left side of neck, swelled veins on left testicle, top of head getting bald; is a dealer. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison on Licence, the 9th in tant, and cama to Dublin, where he reported his arrival to the police on the 10th instant, and stated he would call the following day and notify his residence, but up to this be has failed to do so, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under section 5 of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 26th February, 1891. ( 383 H. C.) James Gall and Co., provision merchants, 123, Candleriggs, of this city:— MONTEITH SINCLAIR, a traveller, about 23 years of age, 5 feat 4 inches high, slender make, and slight fairish monstaohe, ruddy complexion; dressed ( supposed) in dark tweed clcthos and black felt hat; resided at 1, Albert- road, Crosshill, near Glasgow. Is a native of Newcastle. Absconded on 5tk inst., and will likely endeavonr to leave the country. Please cause immediate enquiry to be made for the accnsed at hotels, sbippiog, shipping offices, and all other likely plaoes, and should he be got, arrest and wire, J. Stolen by means of housebreaking on the night of Monday, 30th, or morning of Tuesday, 31st March, 1891, from a jeweller's shop in this burgh :— A gent's English lever watch, No. 34,226, value £ 4 U » *. ; a gent's Geneva watch, No. not known, value 30s.; two ady's Geneva watches ( Swiss make), No. not known, value 25s. each. The thief or thieves gained an entrance by breaking a pane of glass in the back window, removing the s> ib, and raising the lower sash. The window is secured with three stanchions, with crossbar about 3 feet from sill of window, and the space between the stanchion and through which the thief entered is inches. Foot- marks on paper inside the window show the impression of a small boot with round tackets. A number of valuable watehes and other jewellery were left in the window untouched. Please cause the usual inquiry with the view of tracing the stolen property, and also the thief or thieves, and communicate with THOMAS FERGUSOn, Superintendent. Description of a horse, the property of Edmond Sweeny, which was stolen from the lands of Lemanagh, parish of Kilnatoy, and barony of Inchiquin, on the night of Thursday, the 12th instant, or early the following morning:— A dark bay mare, 2 years old, black legs, tail, and mane, 14 hands high, shod on four feet, clipped trace high all round, turns out the foremost hoofs, well bred, and value for £ 30. Description of 10 bullock", the property of John Campion, which were stolen from the' hnds of Iron- mills, parish of Abbeyleix, barooy of Cullenagb, on the night of the 23rd March, 1891:— Two white over body, with red necks. Two blood red, without any white. One all gray, smaller than the others. Two gray with red spots, one of these had shell off left horn. One red with whita across shoulder and hips. Two speckled. A female ass, brown colour, stringhalted in hind legs, white belly, not shod, 10 years old, and value for £ 1. These asses are supposed to have been sold at the fair ot Clenmel, on the 4th instant.
