Description of JAMES MULLIGAN, native of Omagh. who stindH charged with having, on the 21st day of February, 1891, in the barony of Ballybritt, pariah of Birr, stolen the sum of £ 13 5*. from Captain Money, of the York and Lancaster Regiment, Birr Barracks:— Scar over right eyebrow, small tnmour over right eyelid, two bald spots on back of head caused by cut- marks, slightly bow- legged, gray eyes, regular nose, dark florid complexion, round face, very stont make, 5 feet inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark hard hat, dark twead coat and vost with yollow check lines; is an officer's servant; enlisted at Warrington, and has workei as labourer in iron works, Leeds. Description of PATRICK DRISCOLL, native of Odorney, eonpty Kerry, who stands charged with having, iu the month of November, 1890,' in the barony of borough of Limerick, parish of St John's, unlawfully carnally known a girl, Mary Daly, under the age of 13 years Gray eyes, very large nose, sallow complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 22 years of age; wore an old gray tweed coat, tweed trowsers, and vest; is a wire worker. Description of WILLIAM FITZGERALD, native of Lisowen, near Doon, county Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of September, 1889, in the barony of Cosnagh, parish of Doon, with others, murdered George Franklin :— Gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, regular faoe, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, abort 24 years of age, brown hair; won a low hard hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vert; is a labourer. Description of TWO MEN unknown, native place unknown ( supposed county Antrim), who stand charged with having, on the 24th day of February, 1891, in the barony of Loughinsholin. parish of Ballyscullin, illegally entered the lands of colonel H S. Bruce, J. P., in pursuit of game, and with having at same time and place pointed a gun at and threatened to shoot one, William H. Phillips, gamekeeper;— 1. Scar over left eyebrow, sbav> s all his faoe; dark eyes, dark complexion, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 40 yearS of age, dark hair; wore a brown cap, brownish tweed coat, brown trowsers and vest. 2. M 4 Roscommon Description of FRANCIS BRENNAN ( mother's surname Lenehan native of Kilcloghan, who stands charged with having, on the night of 1st or morning of 2nd March, 1891, in the barony of Frenchpark, parish of Creeve, stolen a heifer, the property of Patrick Mullany ( see Hue- and- Cry dated 10th March, 1891):— Delicate appearance, dark eyes, rather short nose, pale sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark hair; wore a cloth cap with two peaks, dark tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a farmer's son. Waterford. DAVID LIVINGSTONE ( obtaining watches under false pretences), Hue- and- Cry, 13th March, not arrested. ( 7314 c.— 85799). Westmeath. Description of THOMAS DUFFY, native of Deerpark, King's County, who stands charged with having, on or about 26th June, 1890, in the barOn y of Moycashel, parish of Kilbeggan, unlawfully stole n and carried away ten doors, two locks, and other property ( now recovered), from the hou; e of Joseph Phylan, Kilbeggan;— Dark eyes, pale complexion, thin face, very slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 85 years of age, small black moustache ( may have shaved), no whiskers or beard; is a grocer's assistant, formerly a publican. Speaks with an English accent. Warrant issued. Kilbeggan, 17th March, 1891. ( 8112 c.— 87297.) Description of a MAN and WOMAN, names and native place unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 17th February, 1891, in the barony of Moy- ashel and Magheraternon, parish of Dysart, feloniously stolen from Bridget Looran, of Dysart, certain artioles of drees, on the highway, at Rathnamuddagh:— 1. Long thin nose, fresh complexion, stout make, middle height, about 45 or 50 yeats of age, grayish hair, grayish moustache, and long beard; wore a soft black hat and long black coat patched in back of shoulders, carried a blackthorn stick; is a tramp. 2. Fresh complexion, tall, younger than the man, but age unknown, black hair; wore a gray shawl and black dress, no covering on the head ; is a tramp. Kilbeggan, 19th Feb., 1891. ( 7640 c.— 86523.) Detcription of EDWARD GRANNELLS, native cf Enniscorthy, who stands charged with having, on tke 2rd January, 1891, in the barony of Scarawalsh, parish cf St. Mary's, indecently assaulted Mary Anne Sullivan:— Slightly bow- legged, square shoulders, tttiy moustache, face shaved, light gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round tace, stout mtle, 5 feet 7j inches high, about 24 years of age, locks older, sandy hair; wore a dark blue sack coat, dark blue trowsers and vest; is a cot man. Description of HENRY JOHNSTON, native of county Wexford ( supposed New ross), who stands charged with having, on the 2nd day of December, 1890, in the barony of Newcastle, parish of Kilcommon, stolen five bags of oats, the property of Margaret Jones, of Bohana:— Wants an upper front tooth, mark of boil on left cheek near ear, dark eyes, regolar nose, pale complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 27 years of age; wore an old gray tweed coat, trowsars, and vest, all mnch worn; is a tramping labourer. Warrant for his arrest in the hands of District Inspector at Wicklow. PATRICK KERRIGAN alias CONNOR or COMBER ( perjury), Hue- and- Cry, 20th February, not arrested. ( 5848 c — 82977.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. G Division. Particulars relative to Convict JOHN RYAN, c 132, convicted at Monaghan Spring Assizes, on 5th March, 1887, for larceny of £ 130, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 25 years of age, on conviction, single born at Dublin, where his friends reside, no fixed residence before conviction:— Dark hair, blue eyes, dark eyebrows, regular nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 5J inches high, absciss mark left side of neck, swelled veins on left testicle, top of head getting bald; is a dealer. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison on Licence, the 9th instant, and came to Dublin, where he reported his arrival to the police on the 10th instant, and statt d he would call the following day and notify his r< sidence, but up to this he ha3 failed to do so, and bis ptesent whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be d ealt with under section 5 of tbe Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. 26th February, 1891. ( 383 H. C.) PATRICK KELLY, alias MOFFAT ( indecent assault), Ho « - and- Cry, 24th Febiuary not arretted. 7ol7t— 81272.) Durham. Wanted in city of Durham on Warrant for embezzling the sum cf £ 34 ( total defalca- tions being upwards of £ 500), absconded on 3rd January last, FREDERICK DAVID BUCK- HAM, a clothier's assistant, 32 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, fair hair, inclined to ginger, bald on top of head, ginger moustache and slight side whiskers, brown ejes, of smart appearance, usually dresses well in dark tweed jacket and vest, light tweed trowsers, and brown felt hat. Ths man served his apprenticeship with Mr. Ward, Clothier, Clayton street, Newcastle- upon- Tyne, and has been manager for Hepworth and Co., Clothiers, Leeds, at their branch shop here for the last six years, an d is well t nown to most of the managers for that firm in the North of England. Please cense enquiries to be made at shipping offices snd other likely places, and should any trace be obtained communicate at once with John Smith, Chief Cr nstable. City Police, Office, Durham, 25th February, 1891. ( 382 H. c.) Essex. Particulars of a person who is in custody, charged with stealing 95 silk handkerchief?, 9 pairs of gloves, and other articles, value £ 10, from drapers shops, at Chelms- ford, on 5th March — EDMUND or EDWARD HENRY, alias ANDREW LEWIS, alias MASTERS, native of Jersey, last resided in 5, Whyteville- street, Upton- lane, Forest Gate, Essex; previous residence, 171, Malmesbury- road, Bow, London, E., 86 years of age, 5 feet 4£ inches high, proportionate built, dark complexion, dark brown hair turning gray at sides, dark moustache, whiskers and beard clipped close, brown eyes, saveral small lumps left side of neck, scar on right side of neck, vaccination on right arm, small scar over left eyebrow; very respectably dressed in hard h » t, dark overcoat, horse- shoe pin set with blue stones worn in necktie, wears ring on right hand; describes himself as a hosier and draper. Remanded to 11 a. m. on Friday, 13th March. A photo can be seen on application. Information to R. SOMERSET, Deputy Chief Constable of Essex, Chelmsford. 8th March, 1891. ( 386 H. C) ALFRED HENDERSON BENNETT, alias BURRIDGE, wanted on a Warrant, for having on 6th January obtained £ 2 by false pretences:— 23 years of age, 5 feet 11 inches higb, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, dark hezel eyes, has a peculiar look in his eyes, impediment in his speech, very slight moustache. Is fond of horses, riding, driving, and uiually dresses in breeches and gaiters or high boots, a covert coat, a hard black hat, smart gentlemanly appearance. Is believed to have enlisted in the army. It is requested that special inquiry be made at recruiting stations, barracks, & c. Warrant issued. Information to Deputy Chief Constable of Essex, Chelmsford. Committed for trial at the next Quarter Sessions, for attempted rape, JOHN HASTON, alias JOHN ADDIS and JOHN NEESON, age 23; height, 5 feet 7^ inches, fnll brown face, brown hair, no whiskers or moustache, light brown eyes, cut mark first finger of right hand, scar left eyebrow, rather bow- legged ; dress, dark rib- cloth coat ( faded), old dark mixture vest, corduroy trowsers ( smaU pattern), gray mixture cap with peak, lace boots, wears a silver ring on right third finger ; states he was born at Leinster, Wicklow, Ireland, but brought up at 22, Spring Gardens- lane, Sunderland, and that he is known to Mr. Coleman, lodging- house keeper, off Queen- street, Sunderland; that he has a relative- named John Higgens, a plasterer, in York- street; Manchester. He also states that he served 56 days training at Richmond Militia last year, that he enlisted at Middlesborough, and at the end of the training purchased his discharge. Has worked on a new railway at Barnsley, also at Leeds Gasworks, and on the Manchester Ship Canal at Hence. Appears to have been tramping the country some time. Photo will be forwarded on application. Information to Superintendent EDWARDS, Shrews- bury. 27th February, 1891. ( 385 H. c. Staffordshire. Stolen, by means of housebreaking, from the Vicarage, Tividale, Tipton, between 7.30 and 8.30 p. m., on the 18th February, 1891, the following articles, viz.:— 1 gold signet ring, 18- carat, bloodstone lozenge, with crest " Lion"; 1 gold ring, 18- carat, with coral settings; 1 plain geld ring, 18- carat, with inscription inside, « ' S. W. W., Knt., Barnt., Obi. July, 1700"; 1 small flat gold ring, 18- carat, with " Mizpah" thereon; 1 gold ring, with lai* ge cameo Greek's head; 1 silver vestas box, with inscription " Presented to the Rev. G. R. W. Griffiths by his friend Captain Smith, September £ th, " ( year not known); 1 cigarette case, with similar inscription; 1 gent's gold diamond ring, claw setting, supposed 18- carat; 1 gold signet ring, with crest " Eagle"; the two latter rings were too large, and have been lined with gold; value £ 59. Supposed to have been stolen by a man of the following description, viz.:— About 26 years o age, 5 feet 2 or 3 inches high, medium build, light com- plexion, light moustache, no whiskers, round features ; dressed in a dark billycock h& t and dark clothes. Please cause every possible enquiry to be made for this man and the stolen property ; and any information received, please communicate to Captain the Honorable GEO. A. James Gall and Co., provision merchants, 123, Candleriggs, of this city s— MONTEITH SINCLAIR, a traveller, about 23 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, slender make, and slight fairish moustache, ruddy complexion; dressed ( supposed) in dark tweed clcthes and black felt hat; resided at 1, Albert- road, Crosshill, near Glasgow. Is a native of Newcastle. Absconded on 5th inst, and will likely endeavour to leave the country. Please cause immediate enquiry to be made for the accused at hotels, slipping, shipping offices, and all other likely places, and should he be got, arrest and wire, J. Wanted here, on a charge of mnrder, committed on the night of Saturday, 21st February current, in Shielinghill, Hamilton, PETER CORRIGAN, or KERRIGAN, or CUNNINGHAM ( wife's maiden owe is Durkin), labourer, native of Ireland; but been a good many years about Glasgow, Hamilton, and We* t of Scotland; about 55 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, ordinary make, stoops slightly whea walking or standing, dark complexion, longish feature <, rather broad at cheeks and narrowor at chin, lips rather thin, or fall in slightly as if some of front teeth were awanting, hair beginning to turn gray, clean shaved, but if moustache or whiskers allowed to grow, they are likely to be gray; dressed in dark coat, vest, and trowsers, or may be wearing grayish trowsers— probably all half worn, black or dark blua cloth cap with glazed peak, rather broad in crown, worn with peak down on forehead and front of cap raised np and turned over on the side. Absconded on Monday fore- noon, 23rd instant Accused is of a somewhat sullen and unsociable disposition, and when not working was generally f een standing alone about eomo of the street corners with tho breast button of his coat fastened, and his hands in his trowsers pockets. Has worked as a mason's labourer, and as a brasher or roadsman in pits. Has also been employed on Anchor Line of ships between Glasgow and America, and has gone about as a pedlar hawking laces and matches. He may endeavour to leave the country. Police Officers are earnestly requested to make immediate and special search and enquiry for accused at shipping offices, steamboat quays, new buildings in cour.- e ot erection, and at farms, quarries, coal pits, and other public works. Enquiry is also requested to bo made at common lodging houses, and also at brick works and other places where tramps without money are likely to seek lodging?. If found, apprehend, and wire me. Description of a horse, the property of Edmond Sweeny, which was stolen from the lands of Lemenagh, parish of Kilnatoy, and barony of Inchiquin, on the night of Thursday, the 12th instant, or early the following morning:— A dark bay mare, 2 years old, black legs, tail, and mane, 14 hands high, shod on four feet, clipped trace high all round, turns out the foremost hoofs, well bred, and value for £ 30. Description of an ass, the property of William Brady, which was stolen from the lands of Blackrath, parish of Great Connell, barony of Connell, on the night of 9th March, 1891:— A mare ass, dark brown colour with white hair under belly, a long switch tail, hools a little tu ned np, had no shoes, and value for £ 2. Robertson, 92nd Gordon Highlanders, which were stolen from his quarters, I Lines, Curragh Camp, parish of Ballysax, and barony of East Olialy, between tbe hours of 7 30 p M. and 9 30 P. M., on the 12th February, 1891 :— 1. Large silver locket, with small gold diamond- shaped panel raised on it, plain silver back, a slender silver coil chain attached; all value for about £ 6 10s. 2. Small silver locket, raised silver work on one side, plain back, and value for about £ 1 10s. Both lockets were of Indian workmanship. Kildare, 19th February, 1891. ( 7621 86353 ) Westmeath. Essex, Description of property supposed to be stolen, and found in toe possession of Edmund or Edward Henry, alias Andrew Lewis, alias Masters A black silk umbrella, Fox's paragon frame, J. H. Shipman, 50, Mile End- road, Bow, maker, with cans stict, hazel handle, silver knob and ring, stamped B. L; also pawn tickets relating to coat pawned for 6s. on 24th October, 1890, at Tusmo's, 101, Burdett- road, Mile End- road, London, in name of Mr. Lewis; and twenty- seven handkerchiefs and six pairs of gloves, pawned for 30*, on 27th February, 1891, at Smyth and Dymond's, 80, Newgate street, London, in name of Mr. Masters, 6, Fore- street. This man is supposed to be wanted elsewhere for shop robberies. His modus operandi is to call at a draper's or hosier's, say he wants a number of silk handkerchiefs for a bicycle or football club, asks if he can have a ribbon or border put round, and what it would cost. He generally selects shops with only one assistant therein, an 1 asks to be shown some particular handkerchief in the window, whilst the assistant is getting this out he pockets anything within reach. 8th March, lsyl.
