No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall hare been Sworn ; but it ia not necessary ta forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notioee respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, • awl by the name of the person in whose hands it is. - But . the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this •• tare unlets they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. Should irregularities arise in'the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the oovers, or give the number it bears, as without this Information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Polioe Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the Abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fcc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Antrim, Description of a MAN, name unknown, native of Poland, Russia, who stands charged with having, on the night of 12th or morning of 13th October, lb90, in the barony of Lower Belfast, parish of Temple- patrick, stolen from the dwelling- house of Thomas Hugh Barron, of Craigarogan, the following articles, viz.:— A silver Geneva watch, No. 85, 607 or 85,608; • tcel chain with pendant attached, red on one side, blue on other, a crack on red side; a black serge coat and vest, trimmed with braid, nearly new; a pair of strong laced boots, newly mended, with patches on soles at toes; a corduroy purse containing llrf.:— Turn in his eyes, turns out his toes when walking, no hair on face except small light moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 22 years of age, fair hair; supposed to he wearing the Stolen clothes, • s he left his own old ones behind him; ia a labourer. Description of OWEN CUSSACK, native of Liscananagh, who stands charged with having, on the 15th insf., ia the barony el Upper Loughtee, parish of Urney, endangered the life of one Patrick King, by stabbing him several times on the head and body ith a knife :— Has a small dark moustache, straight , dark complexion, thin face, very slight make, 5 1 inches high, about 21 years of age, dark hair ; hard black hat, a dark tweed coat, trowscrp, st; is a labourer. Will endeavour to emigrate, ant has been is< u : d, and is in the hands of tie District Inspector at Cavan. Cavan, 17th November, 1890. ( 6077— c.) Clare. Description cf PETER MURRIN, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 22od October, 1890, in the barotny of Tulla Lower, parish of Ogronnellce, stolen a mare, the property of Messrs. Bailey and Bostock, menagerie proprietors, Which he aftrwards sold:— Speaks with an English accent, blue eyes, ordinary nose, dark complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches hii » b, about SO years of ago, dark hair; wire a shabby tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a stable help. Cork < Description of MICHAEL GOGGIN and JAMES GOGGIN, natives cf Ballinagree, and JEREMIAH NEILL, native of Rahalisk, county Cork, who stand charged with having, on the 5th November, 1890, in the barony of East Muskerry, parish of Donoughmore, seriously assaulted one William R. Hounihan, of Derry, county Cork:— 1. High cheek bones, sharp chin, awkward gait, no beard or whiskers, gray eyes, regular nose, fair com- plexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 20 years of age, black hair; wore a round soft hat, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. 2. Shaves all his face except moustache which is black, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, rcund face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 24 jears of age, black hair; wore a hard hat, gray coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. 3. No beard or whiskers, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a rap, dark coat, gray trowsers and vest; is a labourer. JOHN LOONEY ( deserting children), described in issue of 7th November, has not been arrested. 15th September, 1890. ( 4775 a— 81104.) Down. Description of SAMUEL MATHEWS ( mother's surname Rowan), native of Dromara, who stands charged with having, on the night of 5th or morning of the 6th November, 1890, in the barony of Lower Ivesgh ( lower half), parish of Dromara, burglariously entered tie licensed premises of Bridget M'Kinney, of Dromara, and stolen therefrom a purse containing £ 2 and thirteen bottles of brandy:— Tares in his toes when walking, smart appearance, largo mouth, no beard, whiskers, or moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore a round hard hat, dark jacket- coat, gray tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a labourer, and in the militia. A Warrant is in the hands of the Police at Dromara for bis ane t, Banbridge, 25th Nov., 18S0. ( 6238 c— 83726. WILLIAM M'GREGORY ( burglary), described in issue of 7ih November, not arrested. 24th St i tcmber, 1890. ( 4S66 c— 81157.) Dublin. Description of MAN unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 27th, day of Nov- ember, 1890, in the barony of Coolock, parish of Clontarf, attempted to obtain money by falsely representing, at the public- house of John Clinton, Clontarf, that he had, abcut a fortnight previously, purchased some drink there, and had not time to wait for change:— Speaks quickly and has good address," brown eyes, regular nose fair complexion, oval face, s'ont mak;-, 5, feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 25 years of J^ wdjyair; aAAP^ dark brown jerry hat, navy blue « e$ u£^ withn^ B" s; ots, black short coat, light tweed tro^ afs, anf^ Eck vest; states he was a tram conductor, is a porter at a library in Dublin. Description of WILLIAM COLLINS, native of Clonbeggean, county Galway, who stuids charged with having, on the 23rd November, 1890, in the bsrony of Clare, parish of Claregalway, seriously assaulted William Shaughnessy, by stabbing him with a penknife, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, long nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet P^ inches high, about 28 years of age, brown hair; wore a brown hat, friize coat, corduroy trowsero, and dark vest; is a very small farmer. He may endeavour to get to England or America; he has been in America before. Galway, 26th November, 1890. Description of PATRICK LANNERY ( mother's surname Cantwell), native of Straleek, county Kildare, and PATRICK LAWLESS, native of Dublin, who stand charged witb having, on the 23rd October, 1890, at Loughlinstown, in the barony of South Salt, parish of Donaghcomper, assaulted Patrick Malony, of Allen- wood, and robbed him of 14 » . 6d. on tho highway :— 1. Brown eyes, regular nose, swarthy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 23 years of age, black hair; wore a black cap, dark coat, white moleskin trowsers, and dark vest, is a boatman. 2. Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thm sharp face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 23 years of age, fair hair ; wore a soft black Jim Crow hat, dark coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest, xs a boatman. Description of JAMES MAHER, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, oa the night of the 1st or morning of the 2nd December, 1890, in the barony of Gowran, parish of Blanch- villeskiln, stolen from the dwellinghouse of Nicholas Doyle, of Roughfield, the sum of £ 13 15 « and a pair of new brown corduroy trowsers:— Walks with a slight halt, fresh complexi < n, smart appearance, sandy moustache and side whiskers turning gray, o feet 10 inches high, about 45 years of age, sandy hair ; wore a soft brown hat, round brown tweed coat, corduroy trowsers ( imitation velvet); belongs to Army Reserve; is a labourer. Warrant for his arrest in the hands of District Inspector, Kilkenny. Kilkenny, 4th December, 1890. ( 6369 c— 84019.) Description of RICHARD BARRY and JOHN KIRBY, natives of Ballinacrunny, who stand charged with having, on the night of 18th or morning of 19th November, 1890, in the baroay of Iverk, parish o! Whitechurch, stolen threa heifers, tha property of Thomas Robertson:— 1. Dawn looking, bronze complexion, thin face, medium make, 6 feet high, about 21 years of age, brown hair; wore a black round ceat, light trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. 2. Thin fac » , slight make, 5 foot 6 inches high, about 40 years of age; is a labourer. Callan, 25th November, 1890. ( 83709). Description of JOHN SHANNAHAN, native place unknown, who stands clmrged with having, on the 11th day of November, 1890, in the barony of Gowran, parish of St. John's, stolen a bullock, three years old, and value £ 12, the property of Michael Lyng, of Lower Grange:— Walks as if foot sore, regular nose, cark complexion, high cheek bones, niedium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 45 or 50 years of age, dark hair; shaved face, black moustache turning gray; wore a ronnd hard hat, short dark tweed coat, and white muffler with spots; is a cattle drover. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Kilkenny. Kilkenny, 13th November, 1890. ( 6037 o— 83295). Description of JOHN FITZPATRICK, native ol Ballitore, who stsnrfs charged with having, on the 29th November, 1890, at Croghan Demesne, in the barony of Lower Philipstown, parish of Ballyburley, stolen three Bank of Ireland ill noles and a deposit receipt on the Ulster Bank for £ 5, from James M'Cabe, of Croghan Demesne, with whom he was living as a farm servant:— A - good looking boy, blue or gray eyes, slightly oocked nose, fair com- plexion, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 15 or 16 years of age; wore a tweed cap, tweed coat, moleskin trowsers, tweed vest and Blucher boots; is a farm labourer. Lately discharged from the Philipstown Reformatory, where he had been for five years. The Sergeant at Croghanhill holds Warrant for his arrest. Edenderry, Srd Dec., 1890. ( 6348 c.— 93971.) 5 ' Description of JOHN RYAN, alias SAMMON, native of Limerick City, who stands charged with having, on the 28th of June, 1890, in the barony of Clonlisk, parish of Kilmurry Ely, stolen a saddle and bridle:— slightly pockpitted, brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, oval lace, proportionate make, 5 feet inches- high, about 47 years of age, black hair; wore a brown Jerry hat turning red from age, old black frock coat, and corduroy trowsers; is a labourer. Description of TWO MEN, names unknown, who stand chargcd with having, on the night of 19th Sep- tember, 1890, about , in the barony of Bally- cowan, parish pf durrow, entered. the house of Peter Geoghegan, of Ballinamona, and robbed him of the sum of £ 25, consisting of one ten pound and three five pound ndtes, numbers unknown :— 1. GEORGE WALKER ( released convict), des- cribed in iseue of 12th September, not arrested. 1329 H. C.) Loath. Description of MAURICE WOLFE, native of Russia, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd October, 1890, at Drogheda, in the barony of Drogheda, parish of St Peter's, unlawfully stolen, taken, and carried away the following articles of wearing apparel, the property of one David Brudno, viz.:— One double- breasted brown coat, valae £ I 2s. 6d.; a single vest, same material; a boy's dark gray overcoat, value 78. 6d.; a blue pilot overcoat, valua 18s.; a dark gray sack coat, value 8*.; a hard round hat, maker's name " Robinson, Drogheda"; and several other articles of wearing apparel:— Black eyas, regalar no3e, sallow complexion, medium make, 5 feat 5 inches high, about 21 years of age, black early hair; wore a black felt hat, dark coat, gray tweed trowsars and vest, strong laced boots with mils, may be wearing some of the stolen articles; is a pedlar. Has friends residing in Jewish Synagogue, Lennox- street, Dublin. Warrant for his arrest is in hands of D. I. at Drogheda. Drogheda, 5th October, 1890. ( 5146 c.— 18781.) Mayo. Description of TIMOTHY FREEMAN, native of Derrycastle, who is of weak intellect, and missing from his home, at Derrycastle, in the barony of Costelloe, parish of Aughamore:— Brown eyes, long thin drooped nose, sallow complexion, thin face, worn appearance, medium make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 35 years of age, short back, black hair, thin beard; wore a one- peak brown twe9d cap, velvet coa', corduroy trowsers, black tweed vest, and clogs; is a labourer. A Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Police. Ballaghaderreen, 1st Oct.. 1890. ( 5159 c.— 81799.) monaghan. Description of FRANCIS FINNEGAN ( mother's surname M'Mahon), native of Cormoy, who stands charged with having, on the 4th November, in the barony of Dartree, parish of Killeevan, threatened to murder William Little, of Listellan, and others, and to destroy certain houses with dynamites— Square shoulders, slightly freckled face, good address, wears all his beard which is clipped short, gray eyes, regular nose, fyir complexion, rouid face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 40 or 45 years of age, brown hair turning gray; wore a black coat, gray tweed trowsers and vest; is a carpenter, generally works about timber yards. A Warrant is in the hands of the Constabulary, at Clones. Clones, 13th November, 1890. ( 5953 0.- 83255.) Tipperary. Description of PATRICK HOGAN, native of Ballykeveen, who stands charged with having, on the 15th ^ August, 1890, at Toem, in the barony of Kil- namanagh Upper, parish of Toem, unlawfully stabbed one Edmond Noonan in the breast with a knife, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, rather cocked nose, pale complexion, thin face, smart make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray suit of clothes; is a labourer. Dundrum, 16th August, 1890. ( 4170 c.— 80115.) Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK O'BRIEN, c 263, convicted at Clonmel Assizes, county Tipperary, on 19th July, 1888, for the larceny of a pair of blankets, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude >— 26 years of age on conviction, single; is a labourer; born at Clonmel, where he resided before conviction, and where hia friends reside :— Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion,, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet inches high, cut mark left side of head and between left thumb and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 20th December, 1889, and went to reside at Clon- mel. Be failed to report himself to the R. I. C. there on the 2nd inst, he is suspected of having committed larceny and his present whereabouts is unknown-, r In the event of his srrost ho should be dealt with under section 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. r ( 831 H. THOMAS HAMILTON, alias DONNELLY, native of Armagh, ALEXANDER HAWTHORNE, alias SAMUEL JAMEs NEAL, native of Cookstown, WlLLIAM M'KNIGHT, alias CURRY, alias M'WILLIAMS native of Armagh, not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 28th October, 1890. ( 4213 c.— 80384.) PATRICK SHARKEY ( rape), described in Hue- and- Cry of 13th May, not arrested. ( 517 c.— 73739.) Wicklow. Description of HENRY JOHNSTON, native of county Wexford ( supposed NEW ROSS), who stands charged with having, on the 2nd day of December, 1890, in the barony of Newcastle, parish of Kilcommon, stolen five bags of oats, tha property of Margaret Jones, of Bohana:— Wants an upper front tooth, mark of boil on left cheek near ear, dark eyes, regalar nose, pale complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 27 years of age; wore an old gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest, all much worn; is a tramping labourer." Warrant for his arrest ia the hands of District Inspector at Wicklow. Wicklow, 4th December, 1890. ( 6391 c— 84062.) Description of PATRICK KERRIGAN, alias CONNOR or COMBER, native of Dumana, county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 14th July, 1890, in the barony of Upper Talbotstown, parish of Baltinglass, committed perjury:— Gray eyes, long nose, sallow c implexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 60 years of age, black hair turning gray; wore a dark hard hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest 5 is a horse and cattle dealer. Speaks with a Galway accent; deals ia Connetnara ponies; is known to tha Police in Kildare, Carlow, Meath, Tyrone, Wexford, and Roscommon, where he has prosecuted parties for larceny from the person. Warrant for his arrest. Donlavin, 5th November, 1890. ( 5848. c— 82977). Description of LAWRENCE MOONEY, native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 14th October, 1890, in the barony of Arklow, parish of Kilpoole, made his escape from Wicklow Gaol, where he had baen confined on remand charged with larceny of money:— Blue eyes, long nose, fresh com- plexion, small thin face, slight make, 5 fe inches high, about 16 years of age, fair hair ; wore a brown hard bat, old gray tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest, black tie, and laced boots; is a licenced car- driver in Dunlin. Has friends in Dublin, Kingstown, and Rathdrum. Information sworn and warrant in hands of District Inspector at Wicklow. Wicklow, 16th Oct., 1890. ( 5437 c.— 82267.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. C Division. HUGH MULDOON, alias WILLIAM JOHN JACKSON ( released convict), described in issue of 7th November, 1890, not arrested. 15th September, 1890. ( 345 H. C.) Convict MARY MACVICKER, described in issue of 3 rd October, not arrested. General Prisons Board, 21st August, 1890. ( 339 H. C.) ENGLISH POLICE. Lancashire. Absconded on the 10th inst., and now charged by Warrant with embezzlement, JAMES BURNS MEUDELL, a joiner by trade, and lately superin- tendent of one of the Corporation Baths in this city. He is about 40 years Of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout baild, round full face, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, full whiskers and moustache; dressed when last saen in a dark ribbed cloth morning coat and vest, dark trowsers, hard black billycock hat, and low shoes. Please cause every possible enquiry to be made at all likely plices, and if found, arrest and wire to GEORGE WILLIAMS, Chief Superintendent. Liverpool, 21st October, 1890. ( 353 H. C.) Lincolnshire. Description of DAVID SMITH ( supposed false) who stands charged op Warrant with having, on the 2lst day of September, 1890, in the parish of Luddington, feloniously set fire to 8 wheat stacks, 2 oat stacks, 1 hay stack, and 2 straw stacks, the property of Thomas Bladworth :— From 21 to 24 years Of age, 5 feet 1 Or 2 inches high, fair complexion, blue eyes, light brown hair cat short, very slight light moustache, no whiskers, slim build. Dressed in brown check cloth coat, dark cloth trowsers and vest, white neckerchief, light rough cloth cap, peak of same material, and light lace boots. May be gathering rags and bones, rather fond of singing in public houses, likely to be found in low beer or lodging houses. It is particularly requested that inquiry may be made, and information given promptly to JOHN TAYLOR, Superintendent. Epworth Station, 27th October, 1890. ( 3 Norfolkshire. Description of BENJAMIN HIGGS, alias TED HIGGS, native of Kensworth, resided at Hove, wanted on Warrant for larceny at Hove, on the 31st October, 1890:— 26 ytars of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high, brown hair, gray eyes, sharp thin nose, sallow complexion, very slight figure, long droop- ing moustache, walks upright and quickly; dressed in black Oxford hat, black dust coat, brown vest, gray striped trowsers, button boots; is a butcher. Was apprenticed at Ealing, and may be found in Smithfield Market. Information to MAJOR TEEVAN, Chief Constable of Hove. \ Chief Constable's Office, Hove, 5th November, 1890. ( 357 H. C.) Westmoreland. I SAMUEL JOHNSTON, alias GEORGE GRAHAM ( escaped convict), described in issue o 21st November, not arrested. ( 316 H. C.) Yorkshire. Particulars of HOUGHTON PARKINSON, whose apprehension is sought for embezzlement, native of Dewsbury, 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, dark beard and moustache, walks lame and carries a stick in his right hand ; by trade a painter, but has been employed as a painter's clerk; mixture suit, and black billy- cock hat.
