All Notioee Intended for Insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary t* forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. AH Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a " Warrant has been issued, tad by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this mature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the oovers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly re< nested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castl « , of the • bolition of Gaols, Stations, < fec., and of any circumstances rendering the supply Of the " Hue- and- Cry " 110 longer necessary. Description of PETER MURRIN, native place unknown, who Stands charged with having, on the 22 ad October, 1890, in the barony of Tulla Lower, parish of Ogonnelloe, stolen a mare, the property of Messrs. Bailey and Bostock, menagerie proprietors, which be afttrwards sold:— Speaks with an English accent, blue eyes, ordinary nose, dark complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches hub, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a shabby tweed coat, troweew, and vest; is a stable help. - The mare has been roco ared. Cork* Description of MICHAEL GOGGIN and JAMES GOGGIN, natives of Ballinagree, and JEREMIAH NEILL, native of Rahalisk, county Cork, who stand charged with bavin?, on the 5tti November, 1890, in the barony of East Muskerry, parish of Donoughmore, seriously assaulted one. William R. Hounihan, of Derry, county Cork :— 1. High cheek bones, sharp chin, awkward gait, no beard or whiskers, gray eyes, regular nose, fair com- plexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 20 years of age, black hair; wore a round soft hat, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. 2. Shaves all his face except moustache which is black, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 leet 8 inches high, about 24 years of age, black hair; wore a hard hat, gray coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. 3. No beard or whiskers, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of 8ge, brown hair; wore a cap, dark coat, gray trowsers and vest; is a labourer. Description of SAMUEL MATHEWS ( mother's surname Rowan), native of Dromara, who stands charged with having, on the night of fith or morning of the 6th November, 1890, io the barony of Lower Iveagh ( lower half), parish of Dromara, burglariously entered tbe licensed premises of Bridget M'Kinney, of Dromara, and stolen therefrom a puree containing £ 2 and thirteen bottles of brandy:— Turns in his toes when walking, smart appearance, largo mouth, no beard, whiskers, or moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore a round hard hat, dark jacket- coat, gray tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a labourer, and in the militia. Description of WILLIAM COLLINS, native of Clonbeggeen, county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd November, 18li0, in tho barony of Clare, parish of Claregalway, ssrioudy assaulted William Shaughnessy, by stabbing him vith a penknife, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, long nose, fresh conplexim, thi. face, slight make, 5 feet inches high, about 2H years o ntie, brown hair; wore a brown bat, frieze coat, c rduroy trowsers, and dark vest; is a very small farmer. Description of RICHARD BARRY and JOHN KIRBY, natives of Ballinacrunny, who stand charged with having, on the night of 18th or miming of 19th November, 1890, in the barony of Iverk, parish ot Whitechurch, stolen threa heifers, the proparty of Thomas Robertson :— 1. Down looking, bronze complexion, thin face, medium make, 6 feet high, about 21 years of ag » , brown hair; wore a black round coat, light trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. 2. Thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age; is a labourer. Callan, 25th November, 1890. ( 3— 83709). Description of JOHN SHANNAHAN, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 11th day of November, 1890, in the barony of Gowran. parish of St John's, stolen a bullock, three years old, and value £ 13, the property of Michael Lyng, of Lower Grange:— Walks as if foot sore, regular nose, r ark complexion, high cheek bones, medium irate, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 45 or 50 years ot age, dark hair; « huved face, black moustache turning gray; wore a round hard hat, short dark tweed coat, and white n. ufiler with spots; is a cattle drover. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Kilkenny. Kilkenny, 13th November, 1890. ( 6037 83295). King's. Description of JOHN FITZPATRICK, native of Ballitore, who stands charged with having, on the 29th November, 1890, at Croghin Demesne, in the barony of Lower Philipstown, parish of Ballyburley, stolen three Bank of Ireland £ 1 notes and a deposit receipt on tbe Ulster Bank for £ 5, from James M'Cabe, of Croghan Demesne, with whom lie was living as a farm servant:— A good looking boy, blue or gray eyes, slightly cocked nose, fair com- plexion, stout make. 5 feet 4 inches high, about 15 or 16 years of age; wore a tweed cap, tweed coat, moleskin frowsers, tweed vest and Blucher boots; i « a farm labourer. Lately discharg d from the Philipstown Reformatory, where he had been for five years. The Sergeant at Craghanhill holds Warrant for his arrest. Edenderry, 3rd Dec., ( 68^ c.— 83971 ) Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the evening of the 14th November, 1890, absconded from tbo Philipstown Reformatory School, at King's County, by leaving his employment at Killoughey:— JAMES GINN, No, 1,103, 18 or 19 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, heavy stoat make, fresh com- plexion, brown hair, gray ejes, broad nose, regular mouth full visage, s? ar on left brow, forefinger of loft hand crooked, cut- scar on ball of left thumb; dressed in a soft felt hat, navy- blue serge jacket, moleskin trowsers, and Blucker boots. Formerly belonged to Londonderry. Would very likely try to enlist. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. ( 360 H. C.) Description of JOHN RYAN, alias SAMMON, native of Limerick City, who stands charged with having, on the 28th of June, 1890, in the barony of Clonlisk, parish of Kilmurry Ely, stolen a saddle and bridle:— Slightly pockpitted, brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, oval lace, proportionate make, 5 feet inches high, about 47. years of age, black hair; wore a brown Jerry hat turning red f< om age, old black frock coat, and corduroy trousers; is a labourer. Warrant has been issued. Shinrone, 31st Oct., 1890. 3261 ci— 82790. Description of TWO MEN, names Unknown, who stand charged with havine, on the night of 19th Sep- tember, 1890, about 9^ p. m., in the barony of Bally- oowan, parish of Durrow, entered the houie of Peter Geoghegan, of Ballinamona, and robbed him of the sum of £ 25, consisting of one ten pound and three five pound notes, cumbers unknown:— 1. Shaved face, sandy moustache, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 24 years of age; wore a black hat and short dark coat. 2. Fair complexion, shaved face, 5 feat 8 or 9 inches high, about 24 years of age; wore a black hat and dark tweed suit. Description of MAURICE WOLFE, native of Russia, who stands charged with having, on the 2ni October, 1890, at Drogheda, in the barony of Drogheda, parish of St Peter's, unlawfully stolen, taken, and carried away the following articles of weariag apparel, the property of one David Brudno. viz.:— One double- breasted brown coat, valae £ 1 ' 2s. 6d ; a single vest, same material; a boy's dark gray overcoat, valua 78. 6d.; a blue pilot overcoat, valua 1 ; a dark gray sack coat, value 8s.; a hard round hat, maker's name " Robinson, Drogheda"; and saveral other articles of wearing apparel:— Black eyes, regalar ti03e, sallow complexion, medium make, 5 lest 5 inches high, ab out 21 years of ago, black c irly hair; wore a black felt hat, dark coat, gray tweed trowsars and vest, strong laced bocts with nails, may ba wearing some of the stolen articles; is a pedlar. Has friends residing; in Jewish Synagogue, Lennox- street, Dublin. Warrant for his arrest is in hands of D. I. at Drosbeda. Drogheda, 5th October, 1890. ( 5146 c.— 18781.) Mayo. Description of TIMOTHY FREEMAN, native of Derrycastle, who is of weak intellect, and missing from his home, a: Derrycastle, in the barony of Costelloe, parish of Aughamore :— Brown eyes, loag thin drooped nose, sallow complexion, thin face, worn appeiarance, medium make, 5 feot 2 inibcs high, about 35 years of age, short back, black hair, thin beard; wore a one- peak brown tweed cap, velvet coat, corduroy trowsers, black tweed vest, and clogs; is a labourer. A Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Police. Ballaghaderreen, 1st Oct.. 1890. ( 5159 c— 81799.) monaghan. Description of FRANCIS FINNEGAN ( mother's surname M'Mahon), native of Cormoy, who stands charged with having, on the 4th November, in the barony of Dartree, parish of Killeevan, threatened to murder William Little, of Listellan, and others, and to destroy certain houses with dynamite:— Square shoulders, slightly freckled face, good address, wears all his beard which is clipped short, gray eyes, regalar nose, fair complexion, rouad face, stoat make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 40 or 45 years of age, brown hair turning gray; wore a black coat, gray tweed trowsers and vest-; is a carpenter, generally works about timber yards. A Warrant is in the hands of the Constabulary, at Clones. Clones, 13th November, 1890. ( 5953 C.— 83255.) Tipperary. Description of PATRICK HOGAN, native of Ballykeveen, who stands charged with having, on the 15th August, 1890, at Toem, in the barony of Kil- namanagh Upper, parish of Toam, unlawfully stabbed one Edmond Noonan in the breast with a knife, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, rather cocked nose, pa'e complexion, thin face, smart make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray suit ot clothes; is a labourer. Dundrum, 16th August, 1890. ( 4170 c 80115.) Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK O'BRIEN, c 263, convicted at Clonmel Assizes, county Tipperary, on 19th July, 1888, for the larceny of a pair of blankets, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 26 years of age on conviction, single; is a labourer; born at Clonmel, where he resided befora conviction, and where his friends reside:— Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, madium mouth, sallow complexion, oval vis we, proportionate make, 5 feet inches high, cut mark left side of head and bet ween lefit thumb and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and shin. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 20th December, 1889, and want to reside at Clon- mel. He failed to report himself to the R. I. C. there on the 2nd inst,, he is suspected of having committed larceny and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under section 5 of 34 and 35 Vic,, cap. 112. ( 331 H. C.) JOHN LYNCH ( sheep stealing), described in issue of 3rd October, not arrested. Tyrone, THOMAS HAMILTON, alias DONNELLY, native of Armagh, ALEXANDER HAWTHORNE, alias SAMUELJAMES NEAL, native of Cookstown, WILLIAM M'KNIGHT, alias CURRY, alias M'WILLIAMS native of Armagh, not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 28th October, 1890. ( 4213 c.— 80384.) PATRICK SHARKEY ( rape), described in Hue- and- Cry of 13th May, not arrested. ( 517 a— 73739.) Wicklow. Description of PATRICK KERRIGAN, alias CONNOR or COMBER, native of Dumana, county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 14th Julv, 1890, in tbe barony of Upper Talbotstown, parish of Baltinglass, committed perjury:— Gray eyas, long nose, sallow complexion, long fase, madium mak^ 5 feat 7 inches high, about 60 years of age, bla ; k hair turning gray; wore a dark hard hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a horse and cattle dealer. Speaks with a Galway accent; deals in Connemara ponies; is known to the Police in Killare, Carlow, Meath, Tyroae, Wexford, and Roscommon, where he has prosecuted parties for larceny from the person. Description of LAWRENCE MOONEY, native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 14th October, 1890, in the barony of Arklow, parish of Kilpoola, made his escape from Wicklow Gaol, where he had baen confined on remand charged with larceny of money:— Blna eyes, long nose, fresh com- plexion, small thin face, slight make, 5 fa 3J- inahas high, about 16 years of age, fair hair ; wora a brown hard bat, old gray tweed coat, dark twead tr. owsera and vest, black tia, and Iacod boots; is a licenced car- driver in Dublin. Has friends in Dublin, Kingstown, and Rathdrum. Information sworn and warrant in hands of District Inspector at Wicklow. Wisklow, 16th Oct., 1890. ( 5437 c — 82257.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. Convict MARY MACVICKER, described in issue of 3rd October, not arrested. General Prisons Board, 21st August, 1890. ( 339 H. C.) ENGLISH POLICE. Lancashire. Absconded on the 10th inst,, and now charged by Warrant with embezzlement, JAMES BURNS MEUDELL, a joiner by trade, and htely superin- tendent of one of the Corporation Baths in this city. He is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout boild, round full face, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, full whiskers aud moustache; dressed when last soen in a dark ribbed cloth morning coat and vest, dark trowsers, hard black billycock hat, and low shoes. Please canse every possible enquiry to bo made at all likely places, and if found, . arrest and wire to GEORGE WILLIAMS, Chiaf Superintendent. Liverpool, 21st October, 1890. ( 353 H. C.) Lincolnshire. Description of DAVID SMITH ( supposed false) who stands charged on Warrant with having, on the SI st day of September, 1880, in the parish of Luddington, feloniously set fire to 8 wheat stacks, 2 oat stacks, 1 hay stack, and 2 straw stacks, the property of Thomas Bladworth :— From 21 to 24 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, fair complexion, blue eyer, light brown hair cut short, very slight light moustache, no whiskers, slim build. Dressed in brown check cloth coat, dark cloth trowsers and vest, white neckerchief, light rough cloth cap, peak of same material, and light laie boots. May be gathering rags and bones, rather fond of singing in public houses, likely to be found in low beer or lodging houses. It is particularly requested that inquiry may be made, and information given promptly to JOHH TAYLOR, Superintendent. Epworth Station, 27th OcLober, 1890. ( 355 H. O ) Norfolkshire. Particulars of HOUGHTON PARKINSON, whose apprehension is sought for embezzlement, native of Dewsbury, 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inchas high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, dark beard and moustache, walks lame and carries a stick in his right hand; by trade a painter, but has been employed as a painter's clerk; mixture suit, and black billy- cock hat.
