Description of a MAN, name unknown, native of Poland, Russia, who stands charged with having, on the night of 12th or morning of 13th October, 1890, in the barony of Lower Belfast, parish of Temple- patrick, stolen from the dwelling- house of Thomas Hugh Barron, of Craigarogan, the following articles, via.:— A silver Geneva watcb, No. 85, 607 or 85,608; steel chain with pendant attached, red on one side, blue on other, a crack on red 6ide; a black serge coat and vest, trimmed with braid, nearly new; a pair of strong laced boot?, newly mended, with patches on soles at toes; a cordnroy purse containing lid. Turn in his eyes, turns out his toes when walking, no hair on face except small light moastache, gray eyes, regular nose, iair complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches hiph, about 22 years of age, fair hair ; supposed to be wearing the stolen clothes, as he left his own old ones behind him; is a labourer, A Warrant has been issued lor his arrest. Description of OWEN CUSSACK, native of Lisnananagh, who stands charged with having, on the 15th iost., in the barony of Upper Loughtee, parish of Urney, endangered the life of one Patrick King, by stabbing him several times on the head and body with a knife :— Has a small dark moustache, straight nose, dark complexion, thin face, very slight make, 5 feet 11 inches higb, about 21 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard black hat, a dark tweed coat, trowsers, Cvest; is a labourer. Will endeavour to emigrate, rant has been issued, and is in the hands of the rict Inspector at Cavan. ^ Cavan, 17th November, 1890. ' ( 6077—. c.) Clare. Description of PETER MDRRIN, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 22od October, 1890, in the barony of Tulla Lower, parish of Ogonnalloe, stolen a mare, the property of Messrs. Bailey and Bostock, menagerie proprietors, which he afterwards sold:— Speaks with an English accent, bine eyes, ordinary nose, dark complexion, round face, medinm make, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a shabby tweed coat, trowsero, and vest; is a stable help. The mare has been recorared. Killaloe, 29th October, 1890. ( 5689 c 82705.) Cork. Description of MICHAEL GOGGIN and JAMES GOGGIN, natives of Bsllinagree, and JEREMIAH NEILL, native of Rahalisk, county Cork, who stand charged with bavin?, on the 5th November, 1890, in the barony of East Muskerry, parish of Donoughmore, seriously assaulted one William R. Hounihan, of Derry, county Cork:— 1. High cheek bones, sharp chin, awkward gait, no beard or whiskers, gray eyes, regular nose, fair com- plexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 20 years of age, black hair; wore a round soft hat, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. 2. Shaves all his face except moustache which is black, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, rcund face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 24 years of age, black hair; wore a hard hat, gray coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. 3. No beard or whiskers, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a cap, dark coat, gray trowsers and vest; is a labourer. Description of SAMUEL MATHEWS ( mother's surname Rowan), native of Dromara, who stands charged with having, on the night of 5th or morning of the 6th November, 1890, in the barony of Lower Iveagh ( lower half1, parish of Dromara, burglariously entered the licensed premises of Bridget M'Kinney, of Dromara, and stolen there from a puree containing £ 2 and thirteen bottles of brandy:— Turns in his toes when walking, smart appearance, largo month, no beard, whiskers, or moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore a round hard hat, dark jacket- coat, gray tweed trowaers, and dark vest j is a labourer, and in the militia. A Warrant is in the hands of the Police at Dromara for his an est. Banbridge, 25th Nov., 1890. ( 6238 c 83726. WILLIAM M'GREGORY ( burglary), described in issue of 7th November, not arrested. 24th September, 1890. ( 4966 c— 81457.) Dublin. Description of PATRICK GOWRAN, alias HIGGINS, native of Dysart, sub- district of Castle- towngeoghegan, district of Kilbeggan, county Wrst- meath, who stands charged with having, on the 27th day of November, 1890, in the barony of Coolcck, parish of Clontarf, attempted to obtain money by falsely representing, at the public- house of John ClintoD, Clontarf, that he had, about a fortnight previously, purchased some drink there, and had not time to wait for change:— Speaks quickly and has good aWress, brown eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, oval face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark brown jerry bat, navy blue necktie with white spots, black short coat, light tweed trow3Brs, and black vest; states he W6s a tram conductor, is a porter at a library in Dublin. Description of WILLIAM COLLINS, native of Clonbeggeen, county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd November, 1890, in the barony of Clare, parish of Claregalway, seriously assaulted William Shaughnessy, by stabbing him with a penknife, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray ey « s, long nosa, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet inches high, about 28 years of age, brown hair; wore a brown hat, fruze coat, corduroy trowsers, and dark vest; is a very small farmer. He may endeavour to get to England or America; he has been in America before. Galway, 26th November, 1890. ( 6248 c.— 83746.) Description of PATRICK LANNERY ( mother's surname Cantwell), nativo of Straleek, county Kildare, and PATRICK LAWLESS, native of Dublin, who stand charged with having, on the 23rd October, 1850, at Loughlinstown, in tho barony of South Salt, parish of Donaghcomper, assaulted Patrick Malony, of Allen- wood, and robbed him of 14s. 6d. on the highway:— 1. Brown eyes, regular nose, swarthy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 23 years of age, black hair; wore a black cap, dark coat, white moleskin trowsers, and daik vest, is a boatman. 2. Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin sharp face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, aboul 23 years of age, fair hair ; wore a soft black Jim Crow hat, dark coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest, is a boatman. Deseription of RICHARD BARRY and JOHN KIRBY, natives of Ballinacrunny, who stand charged with having, on the night of 18th or rooming of 19th November, 1890, in the barony of I? erk, parish ot Whitechurch, stolen three heifers, the property of Thomas Robertson:— 1. Down looking, bronze complexion, thin face, medium make, 6 feet high, about 21 years of age, brown hair; wore a black round coat, light trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. 2. Thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age; is a labourer. Callan, 25th November, 1890. ( 83709). Description of JOHN SHANNAHAN, rative place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 11th day of November, 1890, in the barony of Gowran, parish of St. John's, stolen a bullock, three years old, and value £ 12, the property of Michael Lynp, of Lower Grange:— Walks as if foot sore, regular nose, dark complexion, high cheek bones, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 45 or 50 years of age, dark hair; shaved face, black moustache turning gray; wore a round hard hat, short dark tweed coat, and white muffler with spots; is a cattle drovar. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Kilkenny. Kilkenny, 13th November, 1890. ( 6037 o.— 83295). King's. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the evening of the 14th November, 1890, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, at King's County, by leaving his employment at Killoughey;— JAMES GINN, No. 1,103, 18 or 19 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, heavy stoat make, fresh com- plexion, brown hair, gray eyes, broad nose, regular mouth, full visage, sear oa left brow, forefinger of left hand crooked, cut- soar on ball of left thumb; dressed in a soft felt hat, navy- blue serge jacket, moleskin trowsers, and Blucher boots. Formerly belonged to Londonderry. Would very likely try to enlist. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ J. ( 360 H. C.) Description of JOHN RYAN, alias SAMMON, native of Limerick City, who stands charged with having, on the 28th of June, 1890, in the barony of Clonlisk, parish of Kilmurry Ely, stolen a saddle and bridle:— Slightly pockpitted, brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, oval face, proportionate make, 5 feet inches high, about 47 years of age, black hair; wore a brown Jerry hat turning red from age, old black frock coat, and corduroy trowsers; is a labourer. Warrant has been issued. Shinrone, 81st Oct, 1890. 3261 a 82790. Description of TWO MEN, names unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of 19th Sep- tember, 1890, about p. m., in the barony of Bally- oowan, parish of Durrow, entered the house of Peter Geoghegan, of Ballinamona, and robbed him of the sum of £ 25, consisting ol one ten pound and three five pound notes, numbers unknown:— 1. Shaved face, sandy moustache, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 24 years of age; wore a blade hat and short dark coat. 2. Fair oomplexion, shaved face, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 24 years of age; wore a black hat and dark tweed suit. Information sworn, and Warrants are in the ban as of the District Inspector at Tullamore. Tullamore, 20th Sept., 1890. ( 4869 81279.) Londonderry. GEORGE WALKER ( released convict), des- cribed in issue of 12th September, not arrested. ( 329 H. c.) louth. Description of MAURICE WOLFE, native of Russia, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd October, 1890, at Drogheda, in the barony of Drogheda, parish of St. Peter's, unlawfully stolen, taken, and carried away the following articles of wearing apparel, the property of one David Brudno, viz.:— One double- breasted brown coat value £ 1 2s. 6 d.; a single vest same material; a boy's dark gray overcoat, value 7s. 6d.; a blue pilot overcoat, value 18s.; a dark gray sack coat value 8s.; a hard round hat, maker's name " Robinson, Drogheda"; and several other articles of wearing apparel:— Black eyes, regolar nose, sallow complexion, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 21 years of age, black curly hair; wore a black felt hat, dark coat, gray tweed trowsers and vest, strong laced boots with nails, may be wearing some of the Btolen articles; is a pedlar. Has friends residing in Jewish Synagogue, Lennox- street Dublin. Warrant for his arrest is in hands of D. I. at Drogheda. Drogheda, 5th October, 1890. ( 5146 c.— 18781.) Mayo. Description of TIMOTHY FREEMAN, native of Derrycastle, who is of weak intellect, and missing from his home, at Derrycastle, in the barony of Costelloe, parish of Aughamore:— Brown eyes, long thin drooped nose, sallow complexion, thin face, worn appearance, medium make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 35 years of age, short back, black hair, thin beard; wore a one- peak brown tweed cap, velvet coat, corduroy trowsers, black tweed vest, and clogs; is a labourer. A Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Police. Ballaghaderreen, 1st Oct.. 1890. C5159 c.— 81799.) Monaghan, Description of FRANCIS FINNEGAN ( mother's surname M'Mahon), native of Cormoy, who stands charged with having, on the 4th November, in the barony of Dartree, parish of Killeevan, threatened to murder William Little, of Listellan, and others, and to destroy certain houses with dynamite:— Square shoulders, slightly freckled face, good address, wears all his beard which is clipped short, gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 40 or 45 years of age, brown hair turning gray; wore a black coat, gray twead trowsers and vest; is a carpenter, generally works about timber yards. A Warrant is in the hands of the Constabulary, at Clones. Clones, 13th November, 1890. ( 5953 c_ 83255.) Tipperary. Description of PATRICK HOGAN, native of Ballykeveen, who stands charged with having, on the 15th August 1890, at Toem, in the barony of Kil- namanagh Upper, parish of Toem, unlawfully stabbed one Edmond Noonan in the breast with a knife, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, rather cocked nose, pale oomplexion, thin face, smart make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray suit of clothes; is a labourer. Dundrum, 16th August, 1890. ( 4170 80115.) Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK O'BRIEN, c 263, convicted at Clonmel Assizes, county Tipperary, on 19th July, 1888, for the larceny of a pair of blankets, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 36 years of age on conviction, single; is a labourer; born at Clonmel, where he resided before conviction, and where his friends reside;— Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet 5- J inches high, cut mark left side of head and between left thumb and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and shin. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 20th December, 1889, and went to reside at Clon- mel. He failed to report himself to the R. I. C. there on the 2nd inst., he is suspected of having committed larceny and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his unrest he should be dealt with under section 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 331 H. C.) JOHN LYNCH ( sheep stealing), described in issue of 3rd October, not arrested. THOMAS HAMILTON, alias DONNELLY, native of Armagh, ALEXANDER HAWTHORNE, alias SAMUEL JAMES NEAL, native of Cookstown, WILLIAM M'KNIGHT, alias CURRY, alios M'WILLIAMS, native of Armagh, not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 28th October, 1890. ( 4213 c.— 80384.) PATRICK SHARKEY ( rape), described in Hue- and- Cry of 13th May, not arrested. ( 517 a— 73739.) Wicklow. Description of PATRICK KERRIGAN, alias CONNOR or COMBER, native of Dumana, county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 14th July, 1890, in the barony of Upper Talbotstown, parish of Baltinglass, committed perjury:— Gray eyes, long nose, sallow complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 60 years of age, blask hair turning gray ; wore a dark hard hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a horee and cattle dealer. Speaks with a Galway accent; deals in Connemara ponies; is known to tha Police in Kildare, Carlow, Meath, Tyrone, Wexford, and Roscommon, where he has prosecuted parties for larceny from the person. Warrant for his arrest. Dunlavin, 5th November, 1890. ( 5848. c— 82977). Description of LAWRENCE MOONEY, native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 14th October, 1890, in the barony of Arklow, parish of Kilpoole, made his escape from Wicklow Gaol, where he had been confined on remand charged with larceny of money:— Blue eyes, long nose, fresh com- plexion, small thin face, slight make, 5 fe 3£ inches high, about 16 years of age, fair hair ; wore a brown hard hat, old gray tweed coat dark tweed trowsers and vest, black tie, and laced boots; is a licenced car- driver in Dublin. Has friends in Dublin, Kingsto wn, and Rathdrum. Information sworn and warrant in hands of District Inspector at Wicklow. | Wicklow, 16th Oct., 1890. ( 345 H. C.) Convict MARY MACVICKER, described in issue of 3rd October, not arrested. General Prisons Board, 21st August, 1890. ( 339 H. C.) ENGLISH POLICE. Lancashire. Absconded on the 10th inst, and now charged by Warrant with embezzlement, JAMES BURNS MEUDELL, a joiner by trade, and lately superin- tendent of one of the Corporation Baths in this city. He is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout bnild, round full face, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, full whiskers and moustache; dressed when last seen in a dark ribbed cloth morning coat and vest, dark trowsers, hard black billycock hat low shoes. Please cause every possible enquiry to be made at all likely places, and if found, arrest and wire to GEORGE WILLIAMS, Chief. Superintendent. Liverpool, 21st October, 1890. ( 353 H. C.) Lincolnshire. Description of DAVID SMITH ( supposed false) who stands charged on Warrant with having, on the 21st day of September, 1890, in the parish of Luddington, feloniously set fire to 8 wheat stacks, 2 oat stacks, 1 hay stack, and 2 straw stacks, the property of Thomas Bladworth From 21 to 24 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, fair completion, blue eyes light brown hajr cut short, very slight lig^ t moustache, no whiskers, elim bnild. Dressed in brown check cloth coat, dark cloth trowsers and vest, white neckerchief, light rough cloth cap, peak of same material, and light lace boots. May be gathering rags and bones, rather fond of singing in public houses, likely to be found in low beer or lodging houses. It is particularly requested that inquiry may be made, and information given promptly to JOHN TAYLOR, Superintendent Epworth Station, 27th October, 1890. ( 355 h. 0.) Norfolkshire. Man, giving name of GRANT, described in issue of 21st November, not arrested. ( 344 H. C.) Sussex. Description of BENJAMIN HIGGS, alias TED HIGGS, native of Kensworth, resided at Hove, wanted on Warrant for larceny at Hove, on the 31st October, 1890:— 26 years of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high, brown hair, gray eyes, sharp thin nose, sallow complexion, very slight figure, long droop- ing moustache, walks upright and quickly; dressed in black Oxford hat, black dust coat, brown vest, gray striped trowsers, button boots; is a butcher. Was apprenticed at Ealing, and may be found in Smithfield Market. Information to MAJOR TEEVAN, Chief Constable of Hove. Chief Constable's Office, Hove, 5th November, 1880. ( 357 H. C.) Westmoreland. SAMUEL JOHNSTON, alias GEORGE GRAHAM ( escaped convict), described in issue o 21st November, not arrested. ( 348 H. C.) Yorkshire. Particulars of HOUGHTON PARKINSON, whose apprehension is sought for embezzlement, native of Dewsbury, 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, dark beard and moustache, walks lame and carries a stick in his right hand; by trade a painter, but has been employed as a painter's clerk; mixture suit, and black billy- cock hat. J Ayrshire, Wanted on a Sheriff's Warrant, for theft of a lo » g- glass ( recovered) from Soldiers' Home, here, on reth instant, also failing to report, Licence holder JOHN M'DONALD, F. L. 1036:— 42 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches in height, dark complexion, slight black moustache and imperial, dark brown hair, hazel eyes; marks, sear right eyebrow, mole forehead and both cheeks, flag, stats and stripes, right forearm, gun below nipples, T. M. and 4 blue marks centre chest, flag and F. S. front and E. S. back left forearm, two blue dots between thumb and finger loft hand; dress, black felt bat, dark clothing ( coat with pockets at sides), well worn, Lome shoes. Sentenced for theft at Jedburgh, 26th March, 1877, to 18 months; Bt Edinburgh, 17th November, 1879, to 5 years, and at Edinburgh, 12th January, 1885, to 7 years' penal servitude. Was discharged on Licence from H. M. Prison, Portland, on 4th July, 1890. Is a musician, has in his possession a clarionet, given him in loan to play on streets, which he may disposo of and endeavour to obtain other instruments on loan. Associates with musicians and soldiers, and puts up at common lodging- houses, may seek employ- ment at theatres, music hall, & c. Police officers are requested to make particular search and inquiry for the above described person, and should he be traced or apprehended communicate with WM, M'KAY, Superintendent. Wanted in this Burgh, on a charge of embezzling a considerable sum of money, the property of the Brad- bury Sewing Machine Company, in whose employment he was as agent, JOHN M'CALLUM, about 26 years of age, 5 feet 10J inches high, stout made, no whiskers, beard, or moustache. Dressed, when last seen, in a dark tweed jacket suit, black hard felt hat, wore a gold Masonic scarf pin and gold Masonic sleeve links. Is single, a native of Perthshire, and resided at Brougham- place, Hawick; left on 5th instant, per 10.43 p. m. train for Carlisle, is supposed to have re- booked at Carlisle for London or Liverpool. Previous to his appointment here, he was foreman lineman with the National Telephone Company in the Hamilton district. He was also for about a year a constable in the Linlithgowshire Constabulary. Description of a silver cross, the property of the Committee of the Roman Catholic Chapel of Melmount, which was stolen from the Chapel of Melmount, near Strabane, parish of Urney, barony of Lower Strabane, on the night of 17th or morning of 18 th August, 1890:— Silver cross, about 7 inches long and 3 inches wide, used in connection with a remonstrance; value for about £ 2.
