All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn ; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, Mad by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this - jcr « ature unless they have the " Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. • » • Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castlo, of the Abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fcc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Antrim, Description of a MAN, name unknown, native of Poland, Russia, who stands charged with having, on the night of 12th or morning of 13th October, 1890, in tho barony of Lower Belfast, parish of Temple- patrick, stolen from the dwelling- house of Thomas hugh Barron, of Craigarogan, the following articles, viz.:— A silver Geneva watch, No. 85, 607 or 85,608; steel chain with pendant attached, red on one side, blue on otber, a crack on red side; a black serge coat and vest, trimmed with braid, nearly new; a pair of strong laced boots, newly mended, with patches on soles at toeB; a corduroy purse containing lli:— Turn in his eyes, turns out his toes when walking, no hair on face except small light moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, about 22 years of age, fair hair; supposed to be wearing the stolen clothes, as ho left his own old ones behind him; is a labourer. Description of OWEN CUSSACK, native of Lisoananagh, who stands charged with having, on the 15th inst., in the barony of Upper Loughtee, parish of Urney, endangered the life of one Patrick King, by stabbing him several times on the head and body with a knife:— Has a small dark moustache, straight nose, dark complexion, thin face, very slight make, 6 few 11 jnohes high, about 21 years of age, dark hair; wpre a hard black hat, a dark tweed' coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Will endeavour to emigrate. Warrant has been issued, a ad ip in the hands of the District Inspector at Cavan. | ' Clare. Description of PETER MURRIN, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd October, 1890, in the barony of Tulla Lower, parish of Ogonnelloe, stolen a mare, the property of Messrs. Bailey and Bostock, menagerie proprietors, which be afterwards sold:— Speaks with an English accent, blue eyes, ordinary nose, dark complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a shabby tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a stable help. Cork Description of MICHAEL GOGGIN and JAMES GOGGIN, natives of Ballinagree, and JEREMIAH NEILL, native of Rahalisk, county Cork, who stand charged with having, on the 5th November, 1890, in the barony of East Muskerry, parish of Dononghmore, seriously assaulted one William R. Hounihan, of Derry, county Cork 1. High cheek bones, sharp chin, awkward gait, no beard or whiskers, gray eyes, regular nose, fair com- plexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 20 years of age, black hair j wore a round soft hat, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. 2. Shaves all bis face except moustache which is black, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 24 years of age, black hair; wore a hard hat, gray coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. 3. No beard or whiskers, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a cap, dark coat, gray trowsers and vest; is a labourer. WILLIAM M'GREGORY ( burglary described in issue of 7th November, not arrested. 24th September, 1890. ( 4966 c— 81457.) Galway. Description of JOHN BURNS, native of Tulla- mere, who stands charged with having, on the 7th November, 1820, in the barony of Galway, parish of St. Nicholas, broken into a dwellinghouse, and attempted to commit rape :— Scar on right eyebrow, slight squint in one eye, scar on left groin; dark or brown eyes, regular nose, regular face, medium make, 5 feet'; 7 inches High about 27 years of age, dark hair, dark moustache, which he may cut off'; wore a soft cftp, sacjk coat, plaid trowsers, and vest; supposed to be wearing a striped muffler round his neck. Is said to be a suoemaker, and a native of King's County, neat Tullamore. Belonged to Connaught Rangers from which he has now deserted. Galway, 7th Nov., 1890. ( 5898 c.— 88061.) Description of THOMAS WALSH and JOHN WALSH ( their mother's surname Prendergast), natives of Bohermore, co. Galway, who stand charged with having, on the 1st October, 1890, in the barony of Galway, parish of St, Nicholas, maliciously injured the walls and roof of a house, and stolen timber there- from:— 1. Tatooed on both arms, hazel eyes, ordinary nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet inches high, about 22 years of age, dark brown hair; wore an old low bat, and common labourer's clothes; is an assistant blacksmith. 2. Three blue dots between thumb and forefinger of left hand, sore- mark on left shin where bone was broken and splinter came out, blue eyes, ordinary nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6£ inches high, about 19 years of age, dark brown hair; wore an old low hat, and common labourer's clothes; is an assistant blacksmith. These men may be found at iron works or forges, and may not keep together. They were out on bail, but failed to appear at Galway Quarter Sessions to stand their trial. Warrant for their arrest in hands of the District Inspector, at Galway. Galway, October, 1890. < v5268 o.— 82704.) Kerry. Description of Colour - Sergeant THOMAS C. CONNELL, native of Gosport, Hants, who stands charged with having, on the 4th October, 1890, in the barony of Trughanackmy, parish of Tralee, stolen £ 25, the property of Major Henry Murray, Royal Munster Fusiliers:— Thick lips and a misshapen nose, hazel eyes, flat nose, fresh complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 27 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tag coat, bright trowsers, dark vest; is a clork. Tralee, 5th October, 1890. ( 5182 c.— 81841.) Kildare. Description of MICHAEL KAVNAGH, native of Allen, county Kildare, who stands charged with having, on the 6th September, 1890, in the barony of East Narragh and Reban, parish of Moone, by false and fraudulent pretences obtained one silver watch, value for £ 2 10s., which watch he pawned at Mr. Doyle's pawn office, Athy:— Apparently blind, holds up his head high when walking, ragular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 60 years of age, gray hair; wore an old brown coat, tweed trowsers and vest, all much worn; goes about the country as a quack doctor. Warrant in the hands of the Police at Athy. Athy, 8th November, 1890. ( 6009 83248). Description of PATRICK LANNERY ( mother's surname Cantwell), native of Straleek, county Kildare, and PATRICK LAWLESS, native of Dublin, who stand charged with having, on the 23rd October, 1890, at Lodghlinstown, in the barony of South Salt, parish of Donaghcomper, assaulted Patrick Malony, of Allen- wood, and robbed him of 14s. 6d. on the highway:— 1. Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin sharp face, slight mate, 5 feet 7 inches igh, about 23 years of age, fair hair ; wore a soft black Jim Crow hat, dark coat, dark tweed trowsera and vest, is a boatman. JOHN HARRIS and JOHN POWER ( riot, & c.), described in issue of 3rd October, not arrested. ( 4266 c.— 80449.) Kilkenny. Description of JOHN SHANNAHAN, native place unknown, wlo stands charged with having, on the 11th day of November, 1890, in the barony of Gowran, parish ot St John's, stolen a bullock, three veers old, and value £ 12, the property of Michael Lyng, of Lower Grange:—' alks as if foot sore, regular nose, dark complexion, high cheek bones, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches tigb, about 45 or 50 years of age, dark hair; shaved face, black moustache turning gray; wore a round bard hat, short dark tweed coat, and white muffler with spots; is a cattle drover. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Kilkenny. Kilkenny, 13th November, 1890. ( 6037 o.— 83295}, I Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the evening of the 14th November, 189", absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, at King's County, by leaving his employment at Killoughey — JAMES GINN, No, 1,103, 18 or 19 years of a e, 5 feet 6 inches high, heavy slont make, fresh com- plexion, brown hair, gray eyes, broad nose, regular mouth; full visage, scar on left brow, forefinger of left hand crooked, cut- scar on ball of left thumb t dressed in a soft felt hat, navy- blue serge jacket,. moleskin trowsers, and Blucher loots. formerly belonged to Londonderry. Would very likely try to enlist. C,) Description of JOHN RYAN, alias SAMMON, native of Limerick City, who stands charged with having,, on the 28th of June, 1890, in the barony of Clonlisk, parish of Kilmurry Ely, stolen a paddle and bridle:— slightly pockpitted, brown eyes, regular noso, fresh complexion, oval lace, propoitionate make, 5 feet 3£ inches high, about 47 years of age, black hair; wore a brown Jerry hat turning red fiom age, old black frock coat, and corduroy trowsers; is a labourer. Shaved face, sandy moustache, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 24 years of oge; wore a black hat and short dark coat. 2. Fair complexion, shaved face, 5 feet 8, nr 9 inches high, abdht 24 years of fcge; wore a black hat and dark tweSct " uit. Description of MAURICE WOLFE, native of Russia, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd October, 1890, at Drogheda, in the barony ot Diogheda, parish of st Peter's, unlawfully - stolen, taken, and earned away the following articles'of wearing apparel, the property of one David Brudno, viz.;— One double- breasted brown coat, value £ 1 2 s. 6 d.; a single vest, • woe material; a boy's dark gray overcoat, value 7s. 6d.; a blue pilot overcoat, value 18s.; a dark gray sack coat, value 8 « .; a hard round hat, maker's name Robinson, Drogheda"; and several other articles of wearing apparel » — Blank eyes, regular nose, sallow • ornpletion, . medium make, 5 feet 5 inches hjgh, about 21 yean of age, black curly hair; wore a black felt Jta* dank coat, gray tw/ sed trowsers and vest, strong ihoed boots with nails, may be wearing some of the .* « l « t. » itielo8i; is a pedlar. Description of TIMOTHY FREEMAN, native of Derrycastle, who is of weak intellect, and missing from his home, a: Derrycastle, in the barony of Costelloe, parish of Aughamore:— Brown eyes, long thin drooped nose, sallow " complexion, thin face, worn appearance, medio • make, 5 feet 2 inches high. about 35 years of age, short bach, black hair, thin beard; wore a one- peak brown tweed cap, velvet coat, corduroy trowsers, blac tweed vest, and clogs; is a labourer. A Warrant | for his arrest is in the hands of the Police. Ballaghaderreen, 1st Oct., 1890. ( 5159 c.— 81799.) Monaghan. Description of FRANCIS FINNEGAN ( mother's surname M'Mahon), native of Cormoy, who stands charged with having, on the 4th November, in the barony of Darlree, parish of Killeevan, threatened to murder William Little, of Listellan, and others and to destroy certain houses with dynamite:— Square shoulders, slightly freckled face, good address, wears 41 his beard which is clipped short, gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feat 6 or 7 inches high, about 40 or 45 years of age, brown hair turning gray; wore a black coat, gray tweed trowsers and vest ; is a carpenter, generally works about timber yards. Description of PATRICK HOGAN, native of Ballykeveen, who stands charged with having, on the 15 th August, 1890, at Toem, in the barony of Kil- namangh Upper, parish of Toem, unlawfully stabbed pue Edmond Noonan in the breast , with a knife, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, rather cocked nose, _ pale complexion, thin face,. smart make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray suit of clothes;; is a labourer. Particulars relative to Com let PATRICK O'BRIEN c 2 « 3, convicted at Clonmel Assizes, county Tipperary, on 19th July, 1888, for the larceny of a pair of blanket-^ and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— years of age on conviction, single; is a labourer; born at Clonmel, where he resided before conviction, and where his friends reside:— Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, medium month; sallow complexion, oval visage, proportionate mase, 5 feet 5£ inches high, cut mark left side of head and between lef t thumb - and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and shin. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on.^ Oth December, 1889,' and went to reside at Clon- mel. He failed to report himself to the R. I. C. there on the 2nd hist., he is suspected of having committed larceny, and his present Whereabouts is unknown. THOMAS HAMILTON, alias DONNELLY, native of Armagh, ALEXANDER HAWTHORNE alias SAMUEL JAMES NEAL, native of Cookstown, WILLIAM M'KNIGHT, alias CURRY, alias M'WILLIAMS. native of Armagh, not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 28th October, 1890. ( 4213 c.— 80384.) PATRICK SHARKEY ( rape), described in Hue- and- Cry of 13th Mav, not arrested. ( 517 c.— 73739.) Wicklow. Description of PATRICK KERRIGAN, native of Dumana, county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 14th July, 1890, in the barony of Upper Talbotstown, parish of Baltinglass, committed perjury:— Gray eyes, long nose, sallow complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 60 years of age, black hair turning gray; wore a dark hard hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a horse and cattle dealer. Description of LAWRENCE MOONEY, native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 14th October, 1890, in the barony of Arklow, parish of Kilpoole, made his escape from Wicklow Gaol, where be had been confined on remand charged with larceny of money:— Blue eyes, long nose, fresh com- plexion, small thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3£ inches high, about 16 years of age, fair , hair ; wore a brown hard hat, old gray tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers aqd vest, black tie, and laced boots; is a licenced car- driver in Dublin. Absconded on the 10th inst., and now charged by Warrant with embezzlement, JAMES BURNS MEUDELL, a joiner by trade, and lately superin- tendent of one of the Corporation Baths in this city. He is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stsnt build, round full face, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, full whiskers and moustache; dressed when last seen in a dark ribbed cloth morning coat and \ est, dark trowsers, hard black billycock hat, and low shoes. Please cause every possible enquiry to be made at all likely pl,- ces, and if found, arrest and wire to GEORGE WILLIAMS, Chief Superintendent. Liverpool, 21st Octobar, 1890. ( 353 H. Description of DAVID SMITH ( supposed false) who stands charged on Warrant with having, on the 2lst day of September, 1890, in the parish of Luddington, feloniously set fire to 8 wheat staCks, 2 oat stacks, 1 hay stack, and 2 straW stacks, the property of Thomas Bladworth :— From 21 to 24 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 lAches high, fair complexion, blue oye » , light brown hair cut short, very slight light moustache, no whiskers, slim build. " ° Dressed in brown check cloth coat, dark cloth trowsers and vest, white neckerchief, light rough cloth cap, peak of same material, and light lace boots. May be gathering rags and bones, rather fond of singing in public houses, likely to be found in low beer or lodging houses. It is particularly requested that inquiry may be made, and information given promptly to JOHN TAYLOR, Superintendent. Epworth Station, 27th Ociober, 1890: ( 355 h. o.) NorfolksHire. Wanted at King's Lynn, a man of the following description, for stealing, on tbe 9th instant, from the platform of the railway station, a brown leather hand- bag ( recovered) from ; hich' he abstracted a cheque, dated 7th or 8ta September, 1890, for £ 20, on Coutts ana Co's., Bank, London, drawn by Francis Ridley in favour of R. O. Ridley, which was not endorsed, also about 20 blank cheques of Gurney and Co's. Bank, all numbered " 19318 :— He gave the name of GRANT, which may be fictitious, aged about 28 years, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, fresh complexion, brown or light brown h air, small ginger moustache, spare build; dressed in black coat, gray or mixed trowsers, black felt hat; gentlemanly appearance, and stated he was a com iercial. Will probably utter Coutts and Co's. cheque, No. "/ 16 6034, and may issue forged cheques in the name of R. O. Ridley, on Gurney's Bank, to hotel or lodging house keepers. Particulars of JOHN DENT, charged with forgery and embezzlement to the amount of £ 500, is a jewel- ler's commercial traveller, native of Birmingham, 33 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, slight build, dark hair and moustache, no whiskers, full dark eyes; walks With a swaggering gait, and bas a peculiar habit of shrugging his shoulders; generally carries a walking stick; slightly spray- footed; dressed in a hard billycock hat, lii- ht melton overcoat or dust coat, daric tweed trowsers, and lace- up boots. Prison, Kendal, on Wednesday, September 24th, 18S0, about six p. m., SAMUEL JOHNSTON, alias GEORGE GRAHAM, farm labourer, 25 yeots of, age, 5 feet 6 itches high, brown • curly hair, slight light moustache and whiskers, gray • eyes, fresh complexion, proportionate build, native of Annan, Scotland, rather vacant expression, speaks with a Scotch accent. Marks— cut mark on top part of right fide of forehead, cut mark just abovo left eye- brow, vaccination marks on left arm, varicose veins on right leg, sore mark on right knee.
