Description of TIMOTHY FREEMAN, native of Derrycastle, Who Is of weak intellect, * nd missing from his home, a. Derrycastle, in the barony of Costelloe, parish of Augbamore:— Br. iwn eyes, long thin drooped no- e, sallow complexion, thin face, worn appearance, medium make, 5 feet 2 insties high, abont 35 yean of age, short back, black hair, thin beard; wore a tne- peak brown tweed cap, velvet coat, corduroy trowsers, bl ick tweed vest, and ol< gs; is a labourer. Description of PATRICK HOGAN, native of Ballykeveen, who stands charged with having, on the 15th August, 1890, at Toem, in the barony of Kil- namanagh Upper, parish of Toem, unlawfully stabbed onn Edmond Noonan in the breast with a knife, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, rather cocked nose, pale complexion, thin face, smart make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray suit of clothes; is a labourer. Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK O'BRIEN, c 263, convicted at Clonmel Assizes, county Tipperary, on 19th July, 1888, for the larceny of a pair of blankets, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 26 years of age on conviction, single; is a labourer; born at Clonmel, where he resided before conviction, and where his friends reside:— Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet inches high, cut mark left side of head and between left thumb and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and ehin. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 20th December, 1889, and went to residd at Clon- reel. He failed to report himself to the R. I. C. there on the 2nd inst,, he is suspected of having committed larceny, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his nrrest he should be dealt with under section 6 of 84 and 35 Vic., cap. 118. ( 331 H. C.) JOHN LYNCH ( sheep stealing), described in issue of 3rd October, not arrested. Description of PATRICK KERRIGAN, native of Dumana, county Galway, who stands charjed with having, on the 14th Julv, 1890, in the barony of Upper Talbotstown, parish of Ballinglass, committed perjury:— Gray eyes, long nose, mlliw c mpTexion, lorg face, medium make, 5 feet 7 ir. ches high, about 60 years of age, black hair tarning gray ; wo> e a dark hard hat dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a horte and cattle dealer. Description of LAWRENCE MOONEY, native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on tbe 14th October, 1890, in the barony of Arklow, parish of Kilpoola, made his escape from Wicklow Gaol, where he had bsen confined on remand charged with larceny of money — Blue eyes, long nose fresh com- plexion, small thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3| inches h gh, about 16 years of aee, fair hair ; wora a brown h. rd bat, old gray tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers and rest, black tie, and laced boots; is a licenced car- driver > n Dublin. Convict MARY MACVICKER, described in issue of 3rd October, not arrested. General Prisons Board, 21st August, 1890. ( 339 H. C.) ENGLISH POLICE. Lancashire. Absconded on the 10th inst., and new charged by Warrant with embezzlement, JAMES BURNS MEUDELL, a joiner by trale, and lately superin- tendent of one of the Corporation Baths in this city. He is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout build, round full face, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, full whiskers and moustache; dressed when last seen in a dark ribbed cloth morning coat and vest, dark trowsers, hard black billycock hat, and low shoes. Please cause every possible enquiry to be made at all likely places, and if found, arrest and wire to GEORGE WILLIAMS, Chief Superintendent. Liverpool, 21st October, 1890. ( 353 H. C.) Lincolnshire. Description of DAVID SMITH ( supposed false), who stands charged on Warrant with having, on the 21st day of September, 1890, in the parish of Luddington, feloniously set fire to 8 wheat stacks, 2 oat stacks, 1 hay stack, and 2 straw stacks, the property of Thonas Bladworth From 21 to 24 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, fair complexion, blue eye-, light brown hair cut short, very slight light moustache, no whiskers, slim build. Dressed ia brown check cloth coat, daTk cloth trowsers and vest, white neckerchief, light rough cloth cap, peak of same material, and light lace boots. May be gathering rags and bones, rather fond of singing in public houses, likely to be found in low " er or lodging houses. Wanted at King's Lynn, a man of the following description, for stealing on the 9th instant, from the platform of the railway station, a brown leather ha> d- bag ( recovered) from which he abstracted a cheque, dated 7th or 8th September, 1890, for £? 0, on (' utts and Co's., Bank, London, drawn by Francis Ridley in favour of R. O. Description of BENJAMIN HIGGS, alias TED HIGGS, native of Kensworth, resided at Hove, wanted on Warrant for larceny at Hove, on the 3lHt October, 1890:— 26 ytars of age, about 5 feet 3 ioches higb, b'own hair, gray eves, sharp thin nose, sallow complexion, very slight figure, long droop- ing moustache, walks upright and quickly ; dressed in black Oxford hat, black dust coat, brown vest, gray striped trowsers, button boots; is a butcher. Particulars of JOHN DENT, chsrged with forgery and embezzlement to the amount of £ 500, is a jewel- ler's commercial traveller, native of Birmingham, 33 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, slight build, dark hair and moustache, no whiskers, full dark eyes; walks with a swaggering gait, and fas a peculiar habit of ahrngging his shoulders; generally carries a walking stick; slightly spray- footed; dressed in a hard bidycock hat, lisht melton overcoat or dust coat, dark tweed trowsers, and lacc- up boots. Prison, Kendal, on Wednesday , September 24th, 18550, about six p. m., SAMUEL JOHNSTON, alias GEORGE GRAHAM, farm labourer, 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, brown curly hair, slight light moustache and whiskers, gray eyes, fresh complexion, proportionate build, native of Annan, Scotland, rather vacant expression, speaks with a Scotch accent. Marks— cut mark on top part of right side of forehead, cut mark just above left eye- brow, vaccination marks on left arm, varicose veins on right leg, sore mark on right knee. Dress— Red striped cotton shirt, light moleskin trowsers Harked with broad arrow, which is almost washed out, dark gray socks with red band, shoes; remainder of dress uncertain. Has been convicted as follows:— Annan Borough Police Court, 15th July, 1880; ten days and two years in Reformatory. Whitehaven Petty Sessions, 4th March, 1887; felony, two months. Longtown Petty Sessions, Snd June, 1887; felony, six months. Lancaster Quarter Sessions, 2nd January, 18881 felony, six months. Dumfries Sheriff Jury, 12th October, 1888; burglary, six months. Particulars of HOUGHTON PARKINSON, whose apprehension is sought for embezzlement, native of Dewsbury, 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, dark beard and moustache, walks lame and carries a stick in his right hand; by trade a painter, but has been employed as a painter's clerk; mixture suit, and black billy- cock hat. Ayrshire. Wanted on a Sheriff's Warrant, for theft of a looking- glass ( recovered) from Soldiers' Home, here, on 1 8th instant, also failing to report, Licence holder JOHN M'DONALD, F. L 1036^- 42 years of age, 5 feet 7 itches in height, dark complexion, slight black moustache and imperial, dark brown hair, hazel eyes t marks, s^ ar right eyebrow, mole forehead and both cheeks, flag, stars and stripes, right forearm, gnn below nipples, T. M. and 4 bine marks centre chest, flag ai d K. S. front and £. S back left forearm, two bine d ts between thumb and finger loft hand; dress, black felt hat, dark clothing ; coat with pockets at sides'), well worn, Lome shoes. Sentenced for Iheft at Jedbnrgh, 26th March, 1877, to 18 months; at Edinburgh, 17th November, 1879, to 5 years, and at Edinburgh. 12th January, 1885, to 7 years' penal servitude. Was discharged on Licenoe from H. M. Prison, Portland, on 4th Jaly, 1890. Is a musician, has in his possession a clarionet, given him in loan to play on streets, which he may dispose of and endeavour to obtain other instruments on loan. Associates with musicians and soldiers, and puts up at common lodging houses, may seek employ- ment at theatres, music hall & c. Police officers are requested to make particular search and inquiry for the ab ) ve described person, and should ho be traced or apprehended communicato - with WM. M'KAY, Superintendent. Police Chambers, Ayr, 23rd October, 1890. ( 354 H. C.) Clackmannanshire. AMENDED DESCRIPTION. Wanted here on a Warrant charged with stealing £ 43, the property of the Alloa Coal Company, and who absconded on the 12th October:— JAMES MILLER, a clerk, 33 years of age, 5 feet or 10 inches high, long neck, brown hair, short brown side whiskers and mouitache, otherwise clean shaved, large forehead, prominent nose, projecting eyes, long thin face, thick lips, keeps them apart, mark of old cut on nnler lip, walks erect with qnick short steps; dressed in hard black felt hat, black diagonal corded coat and vest, dark gray striped trowsers, white shirt, Shetland gray worsted semmit and drawers, lacing boots with toecaps t has a respectable appearance. Had in his possession when he absconded a f- plite gold lever watch, No. 11,204, compensation balance, and jewelled in 8 holes, which he may dispose of at watct makers or pawns. He absconded in a similar manner about 5 years ago, and then pledged his watch either in London or Liverpool. He is capable of holding a good position as clerk, and may seek employment as such at colliery effices, public works, etc., or may endeavour to leave the country. Particular search and enquiry requested to be made for this man, and if found apprehend, or if any trace be obtained communicate with the subscriber, who holds a Warrant for his apprehension. Thos. JAMES BROWN M'KENDRICK ( embezzle- ment), Hue- and- Cry, 24th October, not arrested. ( 342 H. C.) JOHN MARTIN ( theft), described in issue of 16th September, not arrested. Burgh Police Office, Govan, 13th August, 1890. ( 836 *. c.] Stirlingshire. Wanted on a charge of theft of £ 2 9j., on 13th October, 1890 EDITH STEWART, a mill- worker, 18 years of age, 5 feet in height, stout build, dark complexion, dark hair cut short in front, dark grey skirt, blue jacket bodice with yellow stripe, black shoulder shawl, white apron, elastic sided boots, baiehead, wrought in Stirling fire weeks previous to Monday, the 13th inst., when she paid for a railway ticket to Edinburgh, has wrought in Dundee and other towns; said to have been born in America, bnt came to this country when young, lived in a private lodging- house here. Description of three calves, the property of Thomas Doyle, of Scarteen, which were stolen from the lands of Scarteen, parish of Templenoe, barony of Dunkerron South, on the might of the 22nd or morning of the 23rd October, 1890:— 1. A heifer calf, black colsur, six mouths old; value for £ 2 10*. 2. A heifer calf, black colour, a little white under the belly, and something like a fcab or wart on fore- bead, six months old s value for £ 2 10 « . 3 A bull calf, black colour, a little white under the belly, six m nths old; value for £ 2 10s. Description of thirteen cows and two calves, seized • nder fi. fa., which were taken out of Dundrum pound on ni » ht of 31st October, 1890, by some person or persons at present unknown, viz. Seven speckled red and white, four dark roan, 1 light roan, one black colour, long horn?, two marked with red paint on right hip, fire cows and two calves red paint on left hip, six no mark. Description of plate, the property of John Curtis, which was stolen from his residence, Oakley, near Clontarf, parish of Clontarf, barony of Coolock, on the 9th day of September, 1890 s— Two large sugar bowls, one large and one small cream ewer, one large soup ladle, one fish slice with fish engraved thereon. All these articles are solid silver, and are engraved with a crest, a dolphin; all value for £ 40. Clontarf, 10th Sept., 1890. ( 4621 c— 80892.) Kildare. Description of articles, tie property of Captain James B. Sharpe, Royal Engineers which were stolen from his hut in F Square, curragh Camp, parish of Ballysax, and barony of East Offaly, on the lltb September, 1890:— One set of lap s lazuli shirt studs, 3 in number, one collar ( stud, same pattern, all set in gold; value for about £ 2. Kildare, 14th September, 1890. ( 4734 81034). Tyrone. Description of articles, the property of the Rev. F. R. Moor, which were stolen from the Mange, at Magheramason, parish of Donagheady, barony of Straba' e Lower, on the 2nd day of November, 1890 s — One £ 5 note on the Northern Bank, 1 £ 1 note on the Belfast Bank; 10 silver teaspoons, marked with the letters " F. C. R.," 1 silver sugar tongs, 5 forks, 2 tablespoons, 5 dessertspoons, all elactrjpl ite 1; a lady's silver Geneva watch, small crack on dial at the figure VI, M'Cutcheon, Downpatrick, maker. Strabane, 6th Nov., 1890. ( 5809 c.— 83013.) Description of a silver cross, the property of the Committee of the Roman Catholic Chapel of Melmount, which was stolen from the Chapel of Melmount, near Strabane. parish of Urney, barony of Lower Strabane, on the night of 17th or morning of 18 th August, 1890s— Silver cross, about 7 inches long and 3 inches wide, used in connection with a remonstrance; value for about £ 2. Portion of the cross has been since found. Strabane, 19th August, 1890. ( 4213 c 80179.) Wicklow. Description of the following articles, the property of the Rev. John Bennett, rector, which were stolen out of the Protestant Church at Churchlands, parish of Kilcommon, barony of Ballinacor South, between the evening of the 5th and the evening of the 11th of October, 1890 s— A small wooden box containing a silver cup, with the inscription " Kilcommon Church, I. H. S."; a silver plate; a small bottle of port wine; a chalice, with the words " The gift of James HiDbert Newton," engraved on it. Arklow, 17th October, 1890. ( 5464 a— 82309.) Description ef articles stolen, the property of Felix Quinn, which were stolen from his house at Aurora, parish of Powerscourt, barony of Rathdown, on the morning of the 7th day of October, 1890, viz. s— A blue pilot top coat, sack make, velvet collar, double breasted, lined with black serge, qiilted under arms, raised seams down the back, cloth ( black) coloured buttons, value about ISt.; two calico handkerchiefs, one red and white, and one white; a set of brown baads, with small cross ( brass); two penknives, one large sized, with two blades, cork screw and pick attached white metal handle, one small penknife with white bone handle, having two blades.
