Notice*; respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour Bhould be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of thir nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. * Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as witliput this Information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to bo good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castl « , of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fcc., and of any circumstances rendering tho supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description cf PETER MURRIN, native placo unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 22cd October, 1890, in the barony of Tulla Lower, parish of Ogonnelloe, stolen a mare, the property of Messrs. Badey and Bostock, menagerie proprietors, which he afttrwards sold:— Speaks with an English accent, blue eyes, ordinary nose, dark complexion, round face, medium make, 5 fett 3 or 4 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair j wore a shabby Sj^ cd coat, ( row ers, and vest; is a stable help. WILLIAM M'GREGORY ( burglary), described in issue of 7th November, not arrested. 24th September, 1890. ( 4966 c— 81457) Galway. . Description of JOHN BURNS, native of Tulla- more, who stands charged with having, on tho 7th November, 1890, in the barony of Galway, parish of St. Nicholas, broken into a dwellinghouse, and attempted to commit rape:— Scar on right eyebrow, slight squint in one eye, scar on left groin; dark or brown eyes, regular nose, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 27 years of age, dark hair, dark moustache, which ho may cut off; wore a soft cap, sack coat, plaid trowsore, and vest; supposed to be weating a striped muffler round his neck. Is said to be a suoemaker, and a native of King's County, near Tullamore. Belonged to Connaught Rangers from which he has now deserted. Galway, 7th Nov., 1890. ( 5898 88061.) Description of THOMAS WALSH and JOHN WALSH ( their mother's surname Prendergast), natives of Bohemore, oc. Galway, who stand charged with having, on the 1st October, 1890, in the barony of Galway, parish of St. Nicholas, maliciously injured the walls and roof of a house, and stolen timber there- from :— 1. Tatooed on both arms, hazel eyes, ordinary nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6£ inches high, about 22 yefcrs of age, dark brown hair; wore an old low l at, and common labourer's clothes; is an assistant blacksmith. 2. Three blue dots between thumb and forefinger of left hand, sore- mark on left shin where bone was broken and splinter came out, blue eyes, ordinary nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight mase, 5 feet inches high, about 19 years of age, dark brown hair; wore an old low hat, and common labourer's clothes; is an assistant blacksmith. These men may be found at iron workif or forgts, and may not keop together. They were out on bail, but failed to appear at Galway Quarter Sessions to stand their trial Warrant for their arrest in hands of the District Inspector, at Galway. Galway, October, 1890. CONNELL, native of Gosport, Hants, who stands charged with having, on the 4 th October, 1890, in tho barony of Trughanackmy, parish of Tralee, stolen £ 25, the property ot Major Henry Murray, Royal Munster Fusiliers:— Thick lips and a misshapen nose, hazel eyes, flat nose, fresh complexion, full lace, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 27 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tag coat, bright trowsers, dark vest; is a clerk'. Tralee, 5th October, 1890. ( 5182 c— 81841.) Kildare. Description of PATRICK LANNERY ( mother's surname Cantwell) native of Skaleek, county Kildare, and PATRICK LAWLESS, rative of Du'lin, who stand charged with having, on the 23rd October, 18S0, at Loughlinstown, in the barony of South Salt, parish of Donaghcomper, assaulted Patrick Malony, of Allen- wood, and robbed him of 1fd. on the highway :— I. Brown eyes, regular nosa, swarthy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 incb'is high, about 23 years of age, black hair; wore a black cap, dark coat, white moleskin trowsers, and dirk vest, is a boatman. 9. Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin sharp face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches nigh, about 23 years of age, fair hair ; wore a soft black Jim Crow hat, dark coat, dark twead trowsers fend vest, is a boatman. Description of JOHN RYAN, alias SAMMON, native of Limerick City, who stands charged mth having, on the 28th of June, 1390, in the barony of Clonlisk, parish of Kilmurry Ely, stolen a saddle and bridle:— Slightly pockpitted, brown eyes, reg. ul r nose, fresh complexion, oval lace, proportionate make, 5 feet inchos high, about 47 years of age, b'ack hair; wore a brown Jerry hat turning red fiom age, old black frock coat, and corduroy trowsers; is. a labourer. Description of TWO MEN, names unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of I'Jth Sep- tember, 1890, about 9£ p. m, in the barony of Bally- cowan, parish of Durrow, entered the hcu: o of Peter Geoghegan, of Ballinamona, and robbed him of the sum of £ 25, consisting of one ten pound and three five pound notes, numbers unknown:— 1. Shaved face, sandy moustache, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 24 years of ogo; wore a black hat and short dark coat. 2. Fair complexion, ehived face, 5 feet 8 cr 9 inches high, about 24 years of ago; wore a black hat and dark tweed suit. Has friends residing in Jewish Synagogue, Lennox- street, Dublin. Warrant for his arrest is in hands of D. I. at Drogheda. Drogheda, 5th October, 1890. ( 5146 c— 18781.) Mayo. Description of TIMOTHY FREEMAN, native of Derrycastle, who is of weak intellect, and missing from his hi mu a Derrycastle, in the barony of Costelloe parish of Aughamore :— Brown eyes, long thin drooped no" e, sallov complexion, thiu face, worn appearance, media i maka, 5 feet 2 in •! es high, about 35 year- of age, sl oit back, black hair, thin beard; wore a tne- peak brown twe< d c « p, velvet coa , corduroy trowsers black tweed vest, and clogs; is a labourer. A Warrant for his arrest is in he hands of the Police. Ballaghaderreen, 1st Oct., 1890. ( 5159 c.— S1799.; Tipperary. Description of PATRICK hOGAN, native of Ballykeveen, who stands charged with havin?, on the 15th August, 1890, at Toem, in the barony of Kil- namanngh Upper. parish of Toem. unlawfully stabbed ono Edmond Noonan in the breast with a knife thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, rather cocked nose, pa'e ermpb- xion ihin face smart make, 6 feet 6 incnes tiigh, about 20 years of oge, fair hair} wore a gray suit ot c'othi s; is a labourer. Dundrum, 16th August, 1890. ( 4170 c— 80115.) Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK O'BRIEN, c 263, convicted at Clonmel Assizes. county Tipperary, on 19th July, 18H8, for the larceny of a pair of blankets, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude :— U6 years of a<; e on conviction finale; is a labourer; born at Clonmel, where he resided before convicticn, and where his friends reside;— Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet 54 inches high, cut mark left side of head and between left thumb and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and shin. This man was released from Monntjoy Prison on 20th December, 1889, and went to reside at Clon- mel. HH failed to report himself to the R. LC there on the 2nd inst, he is suspected of having committed larceny, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under section 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 331 ii. c.) JOHN LYNCH ( sheep stealing), described in issue of 3rd October, not arrested. THOMAS HAMILTON, alias DONNELLY, native of Armagh, ALEXANDER HAWTHORNE, alias SAMUEL JAMEs NEAl, native ol Cookstown, WILLIAM M'KNIGHT, alias CURRY, alias M'WILLIAMS native of Armagh, not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 28th October, 1890. ( 4213 80384.) PATRICK SHARKEY ( rape), described in Hue- and- Cry of 13th May, not arrested. ( 517 c— 73739.) Wicklow. Description of PATRICK KERRIGAN, native of Duroana, county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 14th July, 18^ 0, in the barony of Upper Tulbotstown, parish of Ballinglass, committed perjury:— Gray eyes, long nose, sallow c mplexion, long face, medium make, 6 feet 7 inches high, about 60 years of age, black Lair turning gray; wore a dark hard hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a horse and cattle dealer. Description of LAWRENCE MOONEY, native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 14th Octobsr, 1890, in t a bvony of wicklow, parish of Kilpoole, made his escape from Wicklow Gaol, where he had been confined on remand charged with larceny of money;— Blue eyes, long nose fresh com- plexion, small thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3J inches h gh, about 16 years of aee, fair hair ; wore a brown h » rd hat, old gray tweed c at, dark tweed trowsers and » est, black tie, and laced boots; is a licenced car- driver in Dublin. Absconded on the ICth inst., and now charged by Warrant with embezzlement, JAMES BURNS MEUDELL, a joiner by trade, and lately superin- tendent of one of the Corparation Baths in this city. He is ahout 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout build, round full face, fresh complexion, dark br . wn hair full whiskers and moustache; dressed when last seen in a dark ribbed cloth morning coat and vest, dark trowrers, hard black billycock hat, and low shoes. Please cause every possible enquiry to be made at all likely places, and if found, arrest and wire to GEORGE WILLIAMS, Chief Superintendent. Liverpool, 2lct October, 1890. ( 353H. C.) Lincolnshire. Description of DAVID SMITH ( supposed false , who stands charged on Warrant with having, on the 2lst day of September, 1890, in the parish of Ludding- ton, feloniously set fire to 8 wheat stacks, 2 oat stacks, 1 hay stack, and 2 straw slacks, the property of Thomas Bladworth:— From 21 to 24 years of age, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, fair complexion, blue eye-, light brown hair cut shrrt, very slight light moustache, no whiskers, slim build. Drestsd in brown check cloth ccat, dark cloth trow- ers and vest, white neckerchief, light rough cloth cap, peak of same material, and light lace boots. May be gathering rags and bones, rather fond of singing in public houses, likely to be found in low b< er or lodging houses. It is particularly requested that inquiry may be made, and information given promptly to JOHN TAYLOR, Superintendent. Epworth Station, 27th October, 1890. ( 355 H. O.) Norforkshire. Wanted at King's Lynn, a man of the following description, for stealing, on the 9th instant, from the platform of the railway station, a brown leather hand- bag ( recovered) from which he abstracted a cheque, dated 7th or 8th September, 1890, for £ 20, on Coutts and Co's., Bank, London, drawn by Francis Ridley in favour of R. O. Ridley, which was not endorsed, also about 20 blank cheques of Gurney and Co's. Bank, all numbered " 19318 :— He gave the name of GRANT, which may be fictitious, aged abont 28 years, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, fresh complexion, brown or light brown hair, small ginger moustache, spare build; dressed in black coat, gray or mixed trowsers, black felt hat; gentlemanly appearance, and stated he was a commercial. Will probably utter Coutts and Co's. cheque, No. '/ 16 6034, and may issue forged cheques in the name of R. O. Ridley, on Gurney's Bank, to hotel or lodging house keepers. Particulars of JOHN DENT, charged with forgeiy and embezzlement to he amount of £ 500, is a jnwel- ltr'a commercial travllor, native of Birmingham, 33 years of age, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, slight build, dark haT and moustache, no whiskers, full dark eyes; walks with a swaggering g » it, and has a peculiar habit of shrugging his shoulders; generally arries a walking stick; slightly spray- footed; dressed in a ha'd billycock hat, light melton overcoat or dmt coat, dark tweed t owsara, and lace- up boots. Prison, Kendal, on Wednesday, September 24th, 18^ 0, about six p. m., SAMUEL JOHNSTON, alias GEORGE GRAHAM, farm labourer, 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, brown eurly hair, slight lirht moustache and whiskers, gray eyes, fresh complexion, proportionate build, native of Annan, Scotland, rather vacant expression, speaks with a Scotch accent. Marks— cut mark rn top part of right side of forehead, cut mark just above left eye- brow, vaccination marks on left arm, varicose veins on right leg, sore mark on right knee. Dress— Red striped cotton shirt, light moleskin trowssirs marked with broad arrow, which is almost washed out, dark gray seeks with red band, shoes; remainder of dres i uncertain. Has been convicted as follows:— Annan Borongh Police Court, 15th July, 1880; ten days and two years in Reformatory. Whitehaven Petty Sessions, 4th March, 1887; felony, two months Longtown petty Sessions, 2nd June, 1887; felony, six months. Lancaster Quarter Sessions, 2nd January, 1888; felony, six months. Dumfries Sheriff Jury, 12th October, 1888; burglary,, six monthr. Kendal Quarter Sessions. 4th July, 1890; felony, 18 months and three years' police supervision. Description of BENJAMIN HIGGS, alias TED HIGGS, native of Kensworth, resided at Hove, wanted on Warrant for larceny at Hove, on the 31st October, 1890:— 26 years of age, about 5 feet 3 iaches high, brown hair, gray eyes, sharp thin ncse, sallow complexion, very slight figure, long droop- ing monscache, walks upright and quickly ; dressed in black Oxford hat, black dust coat, brown vest, gray striped trowsers, button boots; is a butcher. Was apprenticed at Ealing, and may be found in Stnitbfield Market. Information to MAJOR TEEVAN, Chief Constable of Hove. Chief Constable's Office, Hove, 5tit November, 1890. ( 337 H. C.) Yorkshire. Particulars of HOUGHTON PARKINSON, whose apprehension is sought for embezzlement, native of Dewsbury, 30 years of ago, 5 feet 4 inches kigh, dark complexion, dark brown hair, dark beard and moustache, walks lame and carries a stick in his right hand; by trade a painter, but has been employed as a painter's clerk; mixture suit, and black billy- cock hat. Wanted on a Sheriff's Warrant, for theft of a looking- glass ( recovered) from Soldiers' Home, here, on 18th instant, also failing to report, Licence holder JOHN M'DONALD, F. L 1036:— 42 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches in height, dark complexion, slight black moustache and imperial, dark brown hair, hazel eyes; marks, scar right eyebrow, mole forehead and both cheeks, flag, stars and stripes, right forearm, gnn below nipples, T. M. and 4 blue marks centre chest, flag and E. S. front and E. S back left forearm, two blue dots between thumb and finger left hand; dress, black felt hat, dark clothing ( coat with pockets at sides), well worn, Lome shoes. Sentenced for theft at Jedburgh, 26th March, 1877, to 18 months; at Edinburgh, 17th November, 1879, to 5 years, and at Edinburgh, 12th January, 1885, to 7 years' penal servitude. Was discharged on Licence from H. M. Prison, Portland, on 4th Jnly, 1890. Is a musician, has in his possession a clarionet, given him in loan to play on streets, which he may dispose of and endeavour to obtain other instruments on loan. Associates with musicians and soldiers, and puts up at common lodging bouses, may seek employ- ment at theatres, music hall. & c. Police officers are requested to make particular search and inquiry for the above described person, and should he be traced or apprehended communicate with WM. M'KAY, Superintendent. Wanted on a charge of theft of £ 2 9s„ on - 3th October, 1890:— EDITH STEWART, a mill- worker, 18 years of age 5 feet in height, stout build, dark complexion, dark hair out short in front, dark grey skirt, blue jacket bodice with yellow stripe, black shoulder shawl, white apron, elastic sided boots, barehead, wrought in Stirling five weeks previous to Monday, the 13th inst., when she paid for a railway ticket to Edinburgh, has wrought in Dundee and other towns; said to have been born in America, but came to this country when young, lived in a private lodging- honse here. Description of three calves, the property of Thomas Doyle, of Scarteen, which were stolen from the lands of Scarteen, parish of Templenoe, barony of Dankerron South, on the night of the 22nd or morning of the 23rd October, 1890 :— 1. A heifar calf, black colour, six months old; value for £ 2 10*. 2. A heifer calf, black colour, a little white under tbe belly, and something like a sc ib or wart on fore- head, six months old: value for £ 2 10s. 3 A bull calf, black colour, a little white under the belly, six months old; value for £ 2 10*. Seven speckled red and white, iour dark roan, 1 light roan, one black colour, long horns, two mark d wiih red paint on right hip, five cows and two calves red paint on left hip, six no mark. Description of plate, the property of John Curtis, which was stolen from his residence, Oakley, near Clontarf, parish of Clontarf, barony of Coolock, on the 9th day of September, 1890 s— Two large sugar bowls, one large and one small ere m ewer, one large soup ladle, one fish slice with fish engraved thereon. C. R.," 1 silver sugar tongs, 5 forks, 2 tablespoons, 5 dessertspoons, all electroplate 1; a lady's silver Geneva watch, small crack en dial at the figure VI, M'Cutcheon, Downpatrick, maker. Description of a silver cross, the property of the Committee of the Roman Catholic Chapel of Melmount, which was stolen from the Chapel of Melmount, near Strabane, parish of Urney, barony of Lower Strabane, on the night of 17th or morning of 18 th August, 1890:— Silver cross, about 7 inches long and 3 inches wide, used in connection with a remonstrance; value for about £ 2. John Bennett, rector, which were stolen out of the Protestant Church at Churchlands, parish of Kilcommon, barony of Ballinacor South, between the evening of the 5th and the evening of the 11th of October, 1890:— A small wooden box containing a silver cup, with the inscription " Kilcommon Church, I. H. S."; a silver plate; a small bottle of port wine; a chalice, with the words " The gift of James Hibbert Newton," engraved on it. Arhlow, 17th October, 1890. ( 5464 82309.)
