All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Ory are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessarv to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies arid such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of jwrsons whose apprehension is sought on a oharge of Misdemeanour Should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by tho name of the person in vvhose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of thia nature unless they h, ave the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this Information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin CastK of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, & c., and of any ciroumstauoes rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Antrim Description of a MAN, name unknown, native of Poland, Russia, who ttan s charged with having, ou the night of 12t'u or morning of 13th October, lb90, in tho b-. rony of Lower Belfast, parish of Temple- patrick, stolen from the dwelling- house of Thomas Hugh Barron, of Craigarogen, the following articles, viz.:— A silver Geneva watch, No. 85, 607 or 85,608; steel chain with pendant attached, red on one side, blue on other, a crack on red side; ia black serge coat » nd vest, trimmed with braid, nearly new; a pair c strong- laced boot?, newly mended, with pat ekes on sties at toes; a coreuro purse containing lid. Description of WILLIAM M'CALLION, alias WILSON ( mother's surname M'Cullough), native ot Craigmore, county Antrim, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd September, 1890, it the barony of Upper Toome, parish of Drummaul stolen from the dwellinghouse of William Stewart, a suit of clothts and a shawl ( which have since ' een found pawn ed i Ballymena);— Has a stoppage in his speech and is short sighted, gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, mediu. i make, 5 feet 8 inches ligh, about 26 years of age, fair hair; wore a black cloth cap, gray tweed coat, and ( ark twted trowsers, am\ j*. Particulars: native to Convict PATRICK nOON, C 6 1 , convicted at Cavan, on the 1st June, 1886, for larceny, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude, 64 years of age conviction, single, dealer, born at Drumshambo, county leitrim, resided before convic- tion at Bailieboro', county Cavan hair, hazel eyes, black eyebrows, small flat ' cose, small mouth, sallow complexion, ot al visage, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high, getting bald. This man was released on Licence from Maryboro' Prison, o , 22nd May, 1890, ai d « efct to D . hlir." He loft Waterford on 23rd September, 1890, stating he was going to Kilkenny, but be has not reported himself at the latter place, and his present whereabouts is unknown. Description of TWO MEN, names unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of 19th Sep- tember, 1S40, about p. m.. in the barony of Bally- cowan, parish of Durrow, entered the house of Peter Gcoghegan, of Ballinamona, and robbed him of the sum - i £ 25, consisting of one ten pound and three five pound notes, numbers unknown:— 1. Shaved face, sandy moustache, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, about 24 years of sge; wore a black hat and short dark coat. 2. A Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Police. Ballaghaderreen, 1st Oct., 1890. ( 5159 c.— 81799. Roscommon. Description of A MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd September, 1890, in the barony of Roscommon parish of Bumlin, stolen two rugs, the property of Dominick Owens, of Strokestown, from his dwelling- house at Strokestown:— Fresh complexion, round face, meiium make, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches higb, about 45 years of age, brown hair; wore a brown hat and light f ray coat; is supposed to be a tramp baker. No better description can be given. Warrant for whose arrest is in the hands of H. J. Walsh, Esq., D. I., R. I. C., Strokestown. Strokestown, 9th Oct., 1890. ( 5271c.— 81938). Tipperary. Description of PATRICK hOGAN, native of Ballykeveen, who stands charged with having, on the 15th August, 1890, at Toem, in the barony of Kil namanagh Upper, parish of Toem, unlawfully stabbed one edmond Noonan in the breast with a knife, thereby placing his lilb in danger:— Oray eyes, rather oocked nose, pale complexion, thin face, smart make, 6 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray suit of clothes; is a labourer. Dundrum, 16th August, 1890- ( 4170 80115.) Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK O'BRIEN, c 263, convicted at Clonmel Assizes, county Tipperary, on 19th July, 1888, for the larceny of a pair of blanket:!, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 36 years of age on conviction, single; is a labourer; born at Clonmel, where he resided before conviction, and where his friends reside:— Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, medium month, sallow complexion, oval visage, proportionate mal'o, 5 feet 51 inches high, cut mark left side of head and between left thumb and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and shin. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 20th December, 1889, and went to reside at Clon- mel. He failed to report himself to the R. I. C. there on the 2nd inst., he is suspected of having committed ; aroeny, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under section 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 331 H. C.) JOHN LYNCH ( sheep stealing), described in issue of 3rd October, not arrested. Tyrone, Description of THOMAS HAMILTON, alias DONNELLY, native of Armagh, ALEXANDER HAWTHORNE, alias SAMUEL JAMES NEAL, native of Cookstown, WILLIAM M'KNIGHT, alias CURRY, alias M'WILLIAMS, native of Armagh, who stand charged with having, on the night of 17th or morning of 18th August, 1890, in the barony of Lower Strabane, parish of Urney, broken into the Roman Catholic Chapel, Melmount, and stolen there- from 1 silver chalice and 1 silver cross ( See Huo- and- Cry, dated 22nd August, 1890) t— 1. Large scar of burn on right shoulder and armpit, marks of King's evil under left ear and under chin; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a gray cap, gray coat, gray trowsers, and black vest; is a labourer. 2. Scar on left temple; dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair; wore a black cap, long dark coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a tailor. 3. Large dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, tbin face, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair; wore a black cap, black coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. These men are arrested and remanded. They may have committed other offences elsewhere, Strabane, 26th August, 1890. ( 4213 c.— 80384.) PATRICK SHARKEY ( rape), described in Hneand- Cry of 13th May, not arrested. ( 517 c.— 73739.) Wicklow. Description of LAWRENCE MOONEY, native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 14th October, 1890, in the barony of Arklow, parish of Kilpoole, made his esoaps from Wicklow Gaol, where he had been confined on remand charged with larceny of money:— Blue eyes, long nose, fresh com- plexion, small thin face, slight make, 5 feet 3J inehes high, about 16 years of age, fair hair ; wore a bro vn hard hat, old gray tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest, black tie, and laced boots; is a licenced car- driver in Dublin. Has friends in Dublin, Kingsto vn, and Rathdrum. Information sworn and warrant in hands of District Inspector at Wicklow. Wicklow, 16th Oct., 1890. ( 5437 c.— 82267.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. C Division. Particulars relative to Convict HUGH MUL- DOON, alias WILLIAM JOHN JACKSON, A 756, convicted at Trinity Sessions, Belfast, county Antrim, on the 10th July, 1833, for larcony and a previous conviction for felony, and sentenced to 8 years' penal servitude, and 5 years' police supervision:— 35 years of age on conviction, single, dealer; born at Omagh, resided before conviction at Belfast; dark brown hair turning gray, hazel eyes, dark eyebrows, small nose, small mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 5 J inches higb, lost right eye. Thi3 man was released fron Mountjoy Prison on Licence, on 16th August, 1890, and went to Belfast. Ho left bis lodgings in that city on 22nd July, ultimo, without notifying same to tho police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, sec. 5. 15th September, 1890. ( 345 H « C.) Convict MARY MACVICKER, described in issue of 3 rd October, not arrested. General Prisons Board, 21st August, 189rr. ( 339 H. C.) ENGLISH POLICE. Lancashire. Absconded on the ICth inst., and now charged by Warrant with embezzlement, JAMES BURNS MEUDELL, a joiner by trade, and lately superin- tendent of one of the Corporation Baths in this city. He is about 40 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches high, stout build, round full face, fresh complexion, dirk brown hair, full whiskers and moustache; dressed when last seen in a dark ribbed cloth morning coat and vest, datk trowsers, hard black billycock hat, and low shoes. Please cause every possible enquiry to be made at all likely places, and if found, arrast and wire to GEORGE WILLIAMS, Chief Superintendent. Liverpool, 21st October, 1890. ( 353 h. c.) Norfolkshire. Wanted at Kings Lynn, a man of the following description, for stealing, on tho 9th instant, from the platform of the ifeilway station, a brown leather hand- bag ( recovered) from which he abstracted a cheque, dated 7th or 8th September, 1890, for £ 20, on Coutts and Co's., Bank, London, drawn by Francis Ridley in favour of R. O. Ridley, which was not endorsed, also about 20 blank cheques of Gurney and Co's Bank, all numbered ° 19318 :— He gave the name of GRANT, which may be fictitious, aged about 28 years, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, fresh complexion, brown or light brown hair, small ginger moustache, spare build; dressed in black coat, gray or mixed trowsers, black felt hat; gentlemanly appearance, and stated he was a commercial. Will probably utter Coutts and Co's. cheque, No. 716 6034, and may issue forged cheques in the name of R. O. Ridley, on Gurney's Bank, to hotel or lodging house keepers. Please warn all bankers, hotel proprietors, and others, and if arrested wire' to GEORGE WARE, Chief Constable. ( 344 H. c.) Staffordshire. L SMITH, alias AGNES CALLAGHAN or CLARE, a Convict on licence, Convict office No. 38887, 53 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, gray hair, hazel eyes, lost several teeth, scars on left forearm, stays at common lodging- houses. She committed the theft at a common lodging- house in tbis borough. She is also wanted by tho Metropolitan Police for failing to notify her ch* nge of residence. . Prison, Kendal, on Wednesday, September 24th, 1890, about six p. m., SAMUEL JOHNSTON, alias GEORGE GRAHAM, farm labourer, 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, brown curly hair, slight light moustache and whiskers, gray eyes, fresh complexion, proportionate build, native of Annan, Scotland, rather vacant exprocsion, speaks with a Scotch accent. Marks— cut mark on top part of right side of forehead, cut mark just above left eye- brow, vaccination masks on left arm, varicose veins on right leg, sore mark on right knee. Dress— Red striped cotton shirt, light mo'eskin trowscrs marked with broad arrow, which is almost washed out, dark gray scck'i with rad band, shoes; remainder of dross uncertain. Has been convicted as follows Annan Borough Police Court, 15th July. 1880; ten days and two years in Reformatory. Whitehaven Petty Sessions, 4th March, 1887; felony, two months. Longtown Petty Sessions, 5? nd June, 1887; felony, six months. Lancaster Quarter Sessions, 2nd January, 1888t felony, six months. Dumfries Sheriff Jury. 12th October, 1888; burglary, six months. Particulars of HOUGHTON PARKINSON, whose apprehension is sought for embezzlement, native of Dewsbury, 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, dark beard and moustache, walks lame and carries a stick in his right hand; by trade a painter, but has been employed as a painter's clerk; mixture suit, and black billy- cock hat. Wanted on a Sheriffs Warrant, for theft of a looking- glass ( recovered) from Soldiers' Home, here, on 18th instant, also failing to report, Licence holder JOHN M'DONALD, F. L 1036:— 42 years of age, 5 feet 7 itches in height, dark complexion, slight black moustache and imperial, dark brown hair, hazel eyes ; marks, scar right eyebrow, mole forehead and both cheeks, flag, stars and stripes, right forearm, gun below nipples, T. M. and 4 blue marks centre chest, flag and E. S. front and E. S. back left forearm, two blue dots between thumb and finger left hand; dress, black felt hat, dark clothing ( coat with pockets at sides), well worn, Lome shoes. Sentenced for theft at Jedburgh, 26th March, 1877, to 18 months; at Edinburgh, 17th November, 1879, to 5 years, and at Edinburgh, 12th January, 1885, to 7 years' penal servitude. Was discharged on Licence from H. M. Prison, Portland, on 4th July, 1890. Is a musician, has in his possession a clarionet, given him in loan to play on streets, which he may dispose of and endeavour to obtain other instruments on loan. Associates with musicians and sol'iiers, and pnfs up at common lodging- houses, may seek employ- ment at theatres, music hall, & c. JAMES BROWN M'KENDRICK ( embezzle- ment), Hue- and- Ory, 24th October, not arrested. ( 342 H. C.) JOHN mARTIN ( theft), described in issue of 16th September, not arrested. Burgh Police Office, Govan, " 13th August, 1890. ( 336 H. C.; Stirlingshire. Wanted on a charge of theft of £ 2 9s., on 13th October, 1890:— EDITH STEWART, a mill- worker, 18 years of age, 5 feet in height, stout build, dark complexion, dark hair cut short in front, dark grey skirt, blue jacket bodice with yellow stripe, black shoulder shawl, white apron, elastic eided boots, barehead, wrought in Stirling five weeks previous to Monday, the 13th inst., when she paid for a railway ticket to Edinburgh, has wrought in Dundee and other towns; said to have been born in America, but came to this country when young, Hired in a private lodging- house here. Description of two heifers, the property of Margaret M'Veety, which were stolen from off her land at Alcrock, in this district, on the night of the 17th or morning of the 18th October, 1890 s— 1. Three and a- half years old, gray colour, one hora turned up, coarse head, to calve in May noxt, value for £ 7 10s. 2. Description of plate, the property of John Curtis, which was stolen from his residence, Oakley, near Clontarf, parish of Clontarf, barony of Coolock, on the 9th day of September, 1890:— Two largo sugar bowls, one large and one small cream ewer, one large soup ladle, one fish slice with fish engraved thereon. Sharpe, Royal Engineers, which were stolen from his hut in F Square, Curragh Camp, parish of Ballysax, and barony of East Offaly, on the 11th September, 1890:— One set of lapis lazuli shirt studs, 3 in number, one collar etud, same pattern, all set ia gold; value for abost £ 2. Description of a silver cross, the property of the Committee of the Roman Catholic Cbapel of Melmount, which was stolen from the Chapel of Melmonnt, near Strabane. parish of Urney, barony of Lower Strabane, on the night of 17th or morning of 18th August, 1890;— Silver cross, about 7 inches long and 3 inches wide, used in connection with a remonstrance; value for about £ 2. John Bennett, rector, which were stolen out of the Protestant Church at ChurcMands, parish of Kilcommon, barony of Ballinacor South, between the evening of the 5th and the evening of the 11th of October, 1890:— A small wooden box containing a silver cup, with the inscription " Kilcommon Church, I. H. S."; a silver plate; a small bottle of port wine; a chalice, with the words " The gift of James Hibbert Newton," engraved on it. Arklow, 17th October, 1890. ( 5464 c— 82309.) Description of articles stolen, the property of Felix Quinn, which were stolen from his house at Aurora, parish ot Powerscourt, barony of Rathdown, on the morning of the 7th day of October, 1890, viz,:— A blue pilot top coat, sack make, velvet collar, double breasted, lined with black serge, quilted under arms, raised seams down the back, cloth ( black) coloured buttons, value about 15s.; two calico handkerchiefs, one red and white, and one white; a set of brown beads, with small cross ( brass); two penknives, one large sizsd, with two blades, cork screw and pick attached white metal handle, one small penknife with white bone handle, having two blades.
