TIOHTB. fg~ All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of jwrsons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of thia nature unless they have the " Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %• Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this Information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castl « , of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, Ac., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " ho longer necessary. Antrim, Description of WILLIAM M'CALLION, alias WILSON ( mother's surname M'Cullough), native of Craigmore, county Antrim, who stands charged with having, on the 22nd September, lb90, in the barony oi Upper Toome, parish of Drummaul, stolen from the dwellinghouse of William Stewart, a suit of clothes and a shawl ( which have since leen found pawned in Ballymena):— Has a stoppage in his speech and is short- sighted, gray or blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 26 ye » rs of age, fair hair; wore a black cloth cap, gray tweed coat, and dark tweed trowsais, all old. Cork. # Description of JOHN LOONEY,; native of Bandon, who'stands charged with having, on. the 7th April, 1890, in the barony of Kinalmeaky, parish of Bally - moden, deserted his four children, so that they became destitute, and are since the 23rd April, 18S0, relieved in the Workhouse of the Bandon Union :— Dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches higb, t about 40 years of age, black hair; wore a dark tweed coat, brown tweed trowsers and vest; is a labourer. Description of WILLIAM M'GREGORY, native of Scotland, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd day of September, 1890, in the barony of Iveagh Lower, lower half, parish of Seapatrick, entered the dwellinghouse of. William Dale, of Drumnagally, and stolen therefrom the sum ot £ 2, consisting of two notes, numbers unknown:— Scar on right side of neck, speaks with a Scotch accent, gray or blue eye?, regular nose, pale complexion, thin lace, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 26 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray tweed cap, dark coat, checked trowsers, dark vest, and military boots ; is a discharged soldier, a shoemaker, and also works as a farm labour. Description cf TIMOTHY FREEMAN, native of derrycastle, wlo is of wei k intellect, and missing from his home, at Derrycastle, in the barony of Costelloe, parish cf Aughamore;— Brow n eyes, lone thin drooped nose, sallow complexion, thin face, worn appearance, medium make, 5 feet 2 inotes high, about 35 years cf age, short bsck, black hair, thin beard; wore a cne- peak brown tweed cop, velvet crat, corduroy trowsers, black tweed vest, and clogs: is a labourer. Description of PATRICK HOGAN, native of Ballykeveen, who stands charged with having, on the 15th August, lc90, at Toem, in the barony of Kil- namanagh Upper, parish of Toem, unlawfully stabbed ono Edmond Noonan in the breast with a knife, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, rather cocked nose, pa'e complexion, thin face, smart mate, 5 feat 6 indies high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray suit ot clotlu s; is a labourer. Dundrum, 16th August, 1890. ( 4170 C.— 80115.) Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK O'BRIEN, c 263, convicted at Clonmel Assizes, county Tipperary, on 19th July, 1888, for the larceny of a pair of blankets, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 26 years of age on conviction, single; is a labourer; born at Clonmel, where he resided befora conviction, and where his friends reside:— Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet 5£ inches high, cut mark left side of head and between left thumb and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and shin. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 20th December, 1889, and went to reside at Clon- mel. He failed to report himself to the R. I. C. there on the 2nd inst,, he is suspected of having committed larceny, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event Of his arrest he should be dealt with under section 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 331 H. C.) JOHN LYNCH ( sheep stealing), described in issue of 3rd October, not arrested. Description of THOMAS HAMILTON, alias DONNELLY, native of Armagh, ALEXANDER HAWTHORNE, alias SAMUEL JAMEs NEAL, native of Cookstown, WILLIAM M'KNIGHT, alias CURRY, alias M'WILLIAMS. native of Armagh, who stand charged with having, on the night of 17th or morning of 18th August, 1890, in the barony of Lower Strabane, parish of Urney, broken into the Roman Catholic Chapel, Melmount, aod stolen there- from 1 silver chalice and 1 silver cross ( S Hua- and- Cry, dated 22nd August, 1890) :— 1. Large scar of burn on right shoulder and armpit, marks of King's evil under left ear and under chin ; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh compl xion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a gray cap, gray coat, gray trowsers, and black vest; is a labourer. 2. Scar on left temple; dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 19 ypars of age, dark hair; wore a black cap, long dark coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a tailor. 3. Large dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feat 8 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair ; wore a black cap, black coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. Particulars Relative to Convict HUGH MUL- DOON, alias WILLiAM JOHN JACKSON, A 756, convicted at Trinity Sessions, Belfast, county Antrim, on the 10th July, 1883, for larceny and a previous conviction for felony, an I sentenced to 8 years' panal servitude, and 5 years' police supervision:— 35 years of age on conviotiap, single, dealer; born at Omagh, resided before conviction at Balfast; dark brown hair turning gray, hazel eyes, dark eyebrows, small nose, small mouth, sallow complexion, oval viaage, medium make, 5 feet 5£ inches high, lost right eye. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on Licence, on 16th August, 1890, and went to Balfast. He left his lodgings in that city on 22nd July, ultimo, without notifying fame to the police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest ha should be dealth with under 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112, sac. 5. " 15th September, 1890. ( 345 H C.) Particulars of LAWRENCE HANLON, native of Omeath, near Warrenpoint, Ireland, whose appre- hension is sought for embezzling £ 2 and other amounts, tbe monies of James Harvey, his master:— 23 or 24 years of age, looks much older, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, fair complexion, brown hair, with long brown moustache, medium make, dissipated appearance, fond of drink and women, speaks with a broad Irish accent; has been an oyster merchant's salesman in this city, and may seek employment as such, or may be found hawking oysters with a basket; dresses fairly respectable. Warrant dated October 2nd, 1890. Information to J. GAMDALE, Chief Constable, Bir- mingham. 8th October, 1890. ( 349 H.. C) norfolkshire. Wanted at King's Lynn, a man of the following description, for stealing, on tha 9th instant, from the platform of the railway station, a brown leather hand- bag ( recovered) from which he abstracted a cheque, dated 7th or 8th September, 1890, for £ 20, on Coutts and Co's., Bank, London, drawn by Francis Ridley in favour of R. O. Ridley, which was not endorsed, also about 20 blank cheques of Gurney and Co's. Bank, all numbered " 19318 :— He gave the name of GRANT, which may be fictitious, aged about 28 years, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, fresh complexion, brown or light brown hair, small ginger moustache, spare build; dressed in black coat, gray or mixed trowsers, black felt hat; gentlemanly appearance, and stated he was a commercial. Will probably utter Coutts and Co's. cheque, No. p/ 16 6034, and may issue forged cheques in the name of B. O. Ridley, on Gurtey's Bank, to hotel or lodging houee keepers. Please warn all bankers, hotel proprietors, and others, and if arrested wire to GEORGE WARE, Chief Constable. Police Office, King's Lynn, 13th September, 1890. ( 344 H. c.) Staffordshire. Wanted for stealing monay and bed- clothes:— MINA JURY, alias ADA LEMPERIE, alias M. L SMITH, alias AGNES CALLAGHAN or CLARE, a Convict on licence, Convict office No. 38887, 53 years of age, 5 feat 5 inches high, fresh complexion, gray hair, hazel eyes, lost several teeth, scars on left forearm, stays at common lodging- houses. £> he committed the theft at a common lodging- house in this borongh. She is also wanted by the Metropolitan Police for failing to notify her change of residence. See p. 5, Police Gazette, May 2nd, 1890. Information to Chief Constable WINDLE, Hanley. ( 333 h. C.) Westmoreland. Escaped from H. M. Prison, Kendal, on Wednesday, September 24th, 1890, about six p. m., SAMUEL JOHNSTON, alias GEORGE GRAHAM, farm labourer, 25 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, brown curly hair, slight light moustache and whiskers, gray eyes, fresh complexion, proportionate build, native of Annan, Scotland, rather vacant expression, speaks with a Scotch accent. Marks— cut mark on top part of right side of forehead, cut mark just above left eye- brow, vaccination marks on left arm, varicose veins on right leg, sore mark on right knee. Dress— Red striped cotton shirt, light moleskin trowsars marked with broad arrow, which is almost washed out, dark gray socks with red band, shoes ; remainder of dress uncertain. Has been convicted as follows:— Annan Borough Police Court, 15th July, 1880; ten days and two years in Reformatory. Whitehaven Petty Sessions, 4th March, 1887; felony, two months. Longtown — Petty Sessions, 2nd June, 1887; felony, six months.^ Lancaster Quarter Sessions, 2nd January, 1888; felony, six months. Dumfries Sheriff Jury, 12th October, 1888; burglary, six months. Kendal Quarter Sessions, 4th July, 1890; felony, 18 months and three years' police supervision. Information to LUKE TALBOT, Chief Constable. Borough Police Office, Kendal, 2nd October, 1890.. Particulars of HOUGHTON PARKINSON, whose apprehension is sought for embezzlement, native of Dewsbury, 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, dark complexion, dark brown hair, dark beard and moustache, walks lame and carries a stick in his right hand; by trade a painter, but has been employed as a painter's clerk; mixture suit, and black billy- cock hat. RANKINE ( stealing), Hue- and Cry of 1st July, 1890, not arrested. ( 321 H. C.) Edinburgh. Wanted in this city on a Magistrate's Warrant, charged with embezzling several thousand pounds:— PETER cOUPER, of the firm of Couper and Cook, accountants, George- street, Edinburgh, 43 years of age ( looks older), 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, medium build proportionate, square shouldered, fresh com- plexion, pleasant looking, bright eyes, iron gray hair turning white, side whiskers and moustache, shaved on chin, generally dreesed well in dark suit and black felt hat, smart gentlemanly appearance, walks quickly, speaks Scotch accent. n ill likely endeavour to leave tie country. Police officers are requested to make special search and inquiry at all outward- bound vessels, railway stations, hotels, boarding- houses, and other likely places, with the view of tracing and securing the arrest of this man.
