CB~ All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied b. y a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %• Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Caatln, of the Abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fcc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description of PATRICK HARRIS ( mother's sur- name Joyce), JOHN HARRIS ( mother's surname Joyce), and JOHN POWER ( mother's snrname Spittle), natives of Athy, who stand charged with having, on the 24th August, 1890, in the barony of Narragh and Rehan West, parish of St. John's, taken part in a riot, and assaulted the police:— 1. May have wounds on head and face caused by blows of policeman's baton, brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round shaved face, stont make, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches high, abont 24 years of age; wore a brown fnr cap, thort black coat, moleskin trowsers, and dark vest; is a canal boatman. 2. Wants some teeth in front of mouth, may have wounds on head and face caused by batons, gray eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, short face, medium make, 5 ieet 6 inches high, about 30 years of age, brown hair, shaves all face except brown moustache; wore a black cap, gray frock coat, moleskin trowscrs, and dark vest; is a canal boatman. 3. May have wounds on head and face caused by batons, dark eyes, long nose, dark sallow complexion, thin face, thin and hardy make. 5 feet 9 inches high, abont 24 years of age, shaves all his face; wore a very dark tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest; is a boatman. Description ot the undernamed young offender, who, on the 5th September, 1890, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, at King's County JAMES JONES, No. 1309, about 17 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches bii> h, stout make, fresh complexion, brown hair, gray eyes, ordinary nose, regular month, oval visage; formerly belonged to Tipperary, and hi9 parents reside at Bansha- road, Tipperary. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of Glengarry cap, black cloth tuaic, moleskin vest, corduroy trowsers, and Blucher boots, The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyan: e, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. 8th September, 1890. Description of THOMAS TRAVERS ( mother surname M'Loughlin), native of Gorvagh Glebe, who stands charged with having, on the 28th day "* August, 1890, in the barony of Drumahaire, parish Killinummery, assaulted Catherine Hannon, thereby causing her life to be in danger, and for whose arrest a Warrant is in the hands of the District Inspector Drumahaire -.— Small fair moustache, shaves rest face ; hooked nose, fresh complexion oval face, rather stout m « ke, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 22 years of age, brown hair, cut short behind, but long on top of head; wore a dark tweod coat, trowsers, and vest - it A farmer's son, and a labourer. Description of JOHN MADDEN and JAMES MADDEN ( mother's surname Cunningham), natives of Gurtavalla, Doon, county Limerick, who stand charged with having on tho 27th Augu3t, 1890, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Doon, committed an assault endangering lite on their brother, Nicholas Madden:— 1. High square shoulders, leans forward when walking, broad mouth, thin lips, shaves all the face, brown eyes, long thin nose, sallow complexion, long square face, medium make, 6 feet 1 inch high, about 50 years of ago, brown hair turning gray; wore a large soft hat, and dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest- is a farmer 2. Square shoulders, active, and well built, shaves all the lane except moustache which is black, brown eyes, large nose, dark complexion, regular face, stout make, 6 feet high about 40 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a low hard hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer. Description of JOSEPH HUGHES, native of Moneymore, who is a person of weak mind, and separated from his mother and brother at Cookstown Junction on 2ad instant, and has not since been heard of. It is feared that he may have met with foul play:— Dark eyes, short nose, dark complexion, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 40 years of age, want3 two front teeth upper jaw: wore a dark tweed coat, blue striped trowsers, dark brown vest. Description of JOHN LYNCH ( mother's surname Brien), native of Rea Ros, who stands charged with having, on the night of 18th or morning of 19th August, 1890, in the barony of Iffa and Offa West, parish of Shanrahan, stolen one sheep and two lambs value for £ 3 10 » ., the property of his stepfather, Thomas Byrne, said sheep and lambs have been discovered:— Tattooed on one of his wrists, slightly bow- legged, brown eyes, slightly cocked nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 35 years of ago, brown hair; wore a slouched soft hat, gray tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, gray tweed vest, sandy moustache, shaves all his face, slight scrofula on face. Will endeavour to cross to England or Scotland where he had previously spent some time. Information sworn and Warrant in hand of Clogheen Constabu'ary. Cahir, 29th August, 1890. ( 4456 c.— 80589). Description of PATRICK HOGAN, native of Ballykeveen, who stands charged with having, on the 15th August, 1890, at Toem, in the barony of Kil- namanagh Upper, parish of Toem, unlawfully stabbed one Edmond Noonan in the breast with a knife, thereby placing his life in daoger:— Gray eyes, rather cocked nose, pa'e complexion, thin face, smart make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray suit of c'othes; is a labourer. Dundrum, 16th August, 1890. ( 4170 c 80115.) Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK O'BRIEN, c 263, convicted at Clonmel Assizes, county Tipperary, on 19th July, 1888, for the larceny of a pair of blankets, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 26 years of age on conviction, single; is a labourer; born at Clonmel, where he resided before conviction, and where his friends reside:— Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet 5- J inches high, cut mark left side of head and between left thumb and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and shin. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 20th December, 1889, and went to reside at Clon- mel. He failed to report himself to the R. I. C. there on the 2nd inst., he is suspected of having committed larceny and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under section 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 331 H. C.) MARTIN MAHER ( cattle Stealing), described in issue of 9th September, not arrested. Description of THOMAS HAMILTON, alias DONNELLY, native of Armagh, ALEXANDER HAWTHORNE, alias SAMUEL JAMES NEAL, native ot Cookstown, WILLIAM M'KNIGHT, alias CURRY, alias M'WILLIAMS, native of Armagh, who stand charged with having, on the night of 17th or morning of 18th August, 1890, in the barony of Lower Strabane, parish of Urney, broken into the Roman Catholic Chapel, Melmount, and stolen there- from 1 silver chalice and 1 silver cross ( See Hue- and- Cry, dated 22nd August, 1890) ;— 1. Large scar of burn on right shoulder and armpit, marks of King's evil under left ear and under chin ; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, rounl face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a gray cap, gray coat, gray trowsers, and black vest; is a labourer. 2. Scar on left temple; dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stoat make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair ; wore a black cap, long dark coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a tailor. 3. Large dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, tVin face, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair; wore a black cap, black coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. 0 Dlfifilon, Particulars relative to Convict HUGH MUL- DOON, alias WILLIAM JOHN JACKSON, A 756, convicted at Trinity Sessions, Belf, st, county Antrim, on the 10th July, 1883, for larceny and a previous conviction for felony, and sentenced to 8 years' penal servitude, and 5 years' police supervision:— 35 years of age on conviction, single, dealer; born at Omagh, resided before conviction at Belfast; dark brown hair turning gray, hazel eyes, dark eyebrows, small nose, small mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 5£ inches high, lost right eye. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on Licence, on 16th August, 1890, and went to Belfast. He left his lodgings in that city on 22nd July, ultimo, without notifying tame to the police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealth with under 34 and 35 " Vic., cap. 112, sec. 5. 15th September, 1890. ( 345 H. C.) Particularsrelativeto Convict MARY MACVICKER, B 165, convicted at Trinity Sessions, Castlebar, county Mayo, on 15th June, 1886, for larceny and former conviction, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude 40 years of age on conviction, married, is a dealer, prison trade— knitting and laundry, born at Roscom- mon, resided before conviction at Swinford:— Gray hair, gray eyes, light eyebrows, medium nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high, cut mark over right eye. This woman was released on liconce, from Golden Bridge Rofuge, on 14th October, 1889; she notified to the R. I. C. at Londonderry, on the 6th fnstant, that she was going to Newtowncunningham, but she has not reported herself there, and her present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of her arrest she should be dealt with under sec. 5 of 34 and 35 Vie., cap. 112. General Prisons Board, 21st August, 1890. ( 339 h. C.) Wanted at King's Lynn, a man of the following description, for stealing, on tha 9th instant, from the platform of the railway station, a brown leather hand- bag ( recovered) from which he abstracted a cheque, dated 7th or 8th September, 1890, for £ 20, on Coutts and Co'*, Bank. London, drawn by Francis Ridley in favour of R. O. Ridley, which was not endorsed, also about 20 blank cheques of Gurney and Co's. Bank, all numbered c 19318 :— He gave the nAme of GRANT, which may be fictitious, aged about 28 years, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, fresh complexion, brown or light brown hair, small ginger moustache, spare build; dressed in black coat, gray or mixed, trowsers, black felt hat; gentlemanly appearance, and stated he was a commercial. Will probably utter Coutts and Co's. cheque^ No. P/ 16 6034, and may issue forged cheques in the name of R. O. Ridley, on Gurney's Bank, to hotel or lodging house keepers. Please warn all bankers, hotel proprietors, and others, and if arrested wire to GEOEGE WARE, Chief Constable. Police Office, King's Lynn, 13th September, 1890. ( 344 H. C.) Staffordshire. Wanted for stealing money and bed- clothes:— MINA JURY, alias ADA LEMPERIE, alias M. L SMITH, alias AGNES CALLAGHAN or CLARE, a Convict on licence, Convict office No. 38887, 53 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, gray bair, hazel eyes, lost several teeth, scars on left forearm, stays at common lodging- houses, fche committed the theft at a common lodging- house in this borough. Wanted in this city on a Magistrate's Warrant, charged with embezzling several thousand pounds:— PeTER cOUPER, of the firm of Couper and Cook, accountants, George- street, Edinburgh, 43 years of age ( looks older), 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, medium build proportionate, square shouldered, fresh com- plexion, plensunt looking, bright eyes, iron gray hair torning white, side whiskers and moustache, shaved on chin, generally dressed well in dark suit and black felt hat, smart gentlemanly appearance, walks quickly, speaks Scotch accent. Will likely endeavour to leave the country. Police officers are requested to make special search and inquiry at all outward- bound vessels, railway stations, hotels, boarding- houses, and other likely places, with the view of tracing and securing the arrest of this man. Wanted here, on a Sheriff's Warrant, charged with embezzlement of £ 47 lfi. 11c?., the property ol a firm of bakers in this burgh, in whosa employment he was HB a traveller s— JAMES BROWN M'KENDRICK, about 23 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches in height, slender make, dark hair, parte! in centTe and inclined to cuil, slight dark momtache, and small side whiskers, otherwise clean shaved, dark eyes, sallow complexion; speaks thick and excited, and with a Glasgow accent; dressed, wben last seen, in a blue broad- twilled jacket suit, black felt bat, and wore Lome shoes. Accused absconded on the 14tS August last. v Police officers are requested to make particular search and enquiry for the above described person, and should he be traced or arrested communicate with the Subseriber. Wanted here, on a Sheriff's Warrant, charged with the theft of £ 19 2s 7d., and a leather Gladstone bag, JOHN MARTIN, a rivetter, 33 years of ago, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches in height, a native of Dumbarton, sandy fair hair and moustache, shaved cheeks, ordinary make, scar on bridge of nose, stiff gait whea walking, and speaks with Scutch accent. Dressed when he left his home at 33 White- street, Govan, on 22nd ult., in a black cord shooting coat and vest, light gray tweed trowsers, and round black felt hat. Accused will probably seek employment as a rivetter ia a shipbuilding yard.
