( V All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separata Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of jarsons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of ( he person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person oharged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %• Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the oovers, or give the number it bears, aa without this Information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good ee i to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castl*, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, ( to., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Said he was a pensioner from the army, and that he belonged to Kildare town, has large whiskers, turning gray, growing up to his eyes ; works as a tailor. Description ol the undernamed yonng offender, who, on the 5th September, 1890, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, at King's County :— JAMES JONES, No. 1309, about 17 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout make, fresh complexion, brown hair, gray eyes, ordinary nose, regular moutb, oval visage; formerly belonged to Tipperary, and his parents reside at Bansha- road, Tipperary. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of Glengarry cap, black cloth tunic, moleskin vest, corduroy trowsers, and Bluoher boots, The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. 8th September, 1890. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 5th September, 1890, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, at King's County:— JOSEPH DOYLE, No. 1270, 17 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, medium make, fresh complexion, brown hair, gray eyes, regular nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage; formerly belonged to Carlow, parents dead; seven dots, cross, and letter " J " on left arm, scar on right temple. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of Glengarry cap, corduroy tanic, moleskin vest, corduroy trowsers, and Blucher boots. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. fcth September, 1893. Description of THOMAS TRAVERS ( mother's surname M'Loughlin), native of Gonraph Glehe, who stands charged with having, on the 28th day of August, 1890, in the barony of Drumahaire, parish of Killinummery, assaulted Catherine Hannon, thereby causing her life t > be in danger, and for whose arrest a Warrant is in ti e l ands of the District Inspector at Drumahaire:— Small fair moustache, thaves rest of face ; hooked nose, fresh complexion, oval face, rather stout make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 22 years of age, brown hair, cut short behind, but long on top of head; wore a dark tweed ccat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son, and a labourer. Inscription of JOHN MADDEN and JAMES MADDEN ( mother's surname Cunningham), natives of Gurtavalla, Doon, county Limerick, who stand charged with having, on tho 27th August, 1890, in the bar my of Coonagh, parish of Doon, commuted an assault endangering life oh their brother, Nicholas Madden:— 1. High square shoulders, leans forward when walking, broad mouth, thin lips, shaves all the face, brown eyes, long thin nose, fallow complexion, long square face, medium make, 6 feet 1 inch high, about 50 years of age, brjwn hair tuning gray; wore a large soft hat, ttnd dark tweed coat, trowsers, and ve3t; is a farmer 2. Sqnare shoulders, active, and well built, shaves all the lace except mouitache which is black, brown eyes, largo nose, dark complexion, regular face, stout make, 6 feet high about 40 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a low hard hat, dark tweed coat, trowsars, and vest; is a farmer. Description of JOSEPH HUGHES, native of Moneymore, w ho is a person of weak mind, and separate 1 from his mother and brother at Cookstown Junction on 2nd instant, and has not since t> een heard of. It' is feared that he may have met with fbol play i— Dark eyes, short nose, dark complexion, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 40 years of age, wants two front teeth upper jaws wore a dark tweed coat, blue striped trowsers, dark brown vest. Any Information respecting him weald bo gladly received by his mother, now residing at Money more. Magherafelt, 26th August, 1890. ( 4363 o.— 80463.) Particulars relative to Convict GEORGE WALKER, o 62, convicted at Londonderry Quarter Sessions, on the 4th June, 1886, for burglary, and sentenced to 5 jews' penal servitude :— 52 years of age on conviction, single; is a labourer; born at Londonderry, where he resided before conviction; his friends reside at Rosemount, Londonderry:— Broken hair, blue eyes, sandy eyebrows, large nose, small mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, bald on top of head, cut mark on right temple. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison on 81st May, 1890, and went to Londonderry. He failed to make his usual monthly report on 30th nit., to the R. I. C. at Rosemount, Londonderry, and his present whereabouts is unknown. 1 In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sec. 5 of 34 and 36 Vic., cap. 112. ( 32 J H. C.) louth. Description of JOHN LYNCH ( mother's surname Brien), native of Rea Ros, who stands charged with having, on the night of 18th or morning of 19th August, 1890, in the barony of Iffa and. Offa West, parish of Shanrahan, stolen one sheep and two lambs value for £ 3 10*., the property of his stepfather, Thomas Byrne, said sheep and lambs have been discovered:— Tattooed on one of his wrists, slightly bow- legged, brown eyes, slightly cooked nose, fresh complexion, Jonnd face, stojit make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 35 years of age, brown hair; wore a slouched soft hat, gray tweed peat, corduroy trowsers, gray tweed vest, sandy moustache, shaves all his face, slight scrofula on face. Will endeayour to cross to England or Scotland where lie had previously spent sometime. Information sworn an 1 Warrant in hand of Clogheen Constabu ary, Cahir, 29th August, 1890. ( 4456 80589). Description of PATRICK HOGAN, native of Ballykeveen, who stands charged with having, on the 15th August, 1890, at Toem, in the barony of Kil- namanagh Upper, parish of To am, unlawfully stabbed one Edmond Noonan in the breast with a knife, thereby placing his life in danger:— Gray eyes, rather cocked nose, pa'c complexion, thin liace, smart make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray suit of c'othes; is a labourer. Dundrum, 16th August, 1890 ( 4170 c.— 80115.) Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK O'BRIEN, C 263, convicted at Clonmel Assizes county Tipperary, on 19th July, 1888, for the larceny of a pair of blankets, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 26 years of age on conviction,, single; is a labourer; bom at Clonmel, where he resided before conviction, an! where his fxiands reside :— Dark brown hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, proportionate maVe, 5 feet inches high, cut mark left side of head and between left thumb and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and shin. „ ' r This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 20th December, 1889, and went to reside at Clon- mel. He failed to report himself to the R. I. C. there on the 2nd inst., he is suspected of having committed larceny and his present whereabouts is unknown. Description of THOMAS HAMILTON, alias DONNELLY, native of Armagh, ALEXANDER HAWTHORNE,- alias SAMUEL JAMEs NEAl native ot Cookstown, WILLIAM M'KNIGHT, alias CURRY, alias M'WILLIAMS native of Armagh, who stand charged with having, on the night of 17th or morning of 18th Aujju^ t, 1890, in the barony of Lower Strabane, parish of ' Urney, broken into the Roman Catholic Chapel, Melmount, and stolen there- from 1 silver chalice and 1 silver cross ( Sea Hua- and- Cry, dated 22nd August, 1890) :_ 1. Large scar of burn on right shoulder and armpit, marks of King's evil under left ear and under chin ; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, rounl face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a gray cap, gray coat, gray trowsers, and black vest; is a laboarer. 2. Scar on left temple; dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, stoat make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair; wore a, black cap, long dark coat, dark trowsers anl vest; is a tailor. 3. Large dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, tlin face, slight make, 5 feat 8 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark hair; wore a black cap, black coat, dark trowsars and vest; is a labourer. DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE. 0 Division, Particularsrelative to Convict MARY MACVICKER, B 165, convicted a » Trinity Sessions, Castlebar, county Mayo, on 15th June, 1886, for larceny and former conviction, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude 40 years of age on conviction, married, is a dealer, pri on trade— knitting and laundry, born at Roscom- mon, resided before conviction at Swinford:— Gray hair, gray eyes, light eyebrows, medium nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high, cut mark over right eye. This woman was released on licence, from Golden Bridge Refuge, on 14th October, 1889; she notified to the R. I. C. at Londonderry, on the 6th instant, that she was going to Newtowncunningham, but she has not reported herself there, and her present whereabouts is unknown. • In the event of her arrest she should he dealt with under sec. 5 of 31 and 35 Via., cap. 112. Edinburgh, Wanted in this city on a Magistrate's Warrant, charged with embezzling several thousand pounds:— PETER cOUPER, of the firm of Couper and Cook, accountants, George- street, Edinburgh, 43 years of age ( looks older), 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, medium build proportionate, square shouldered, fresh com- plexion, pleasant looking, bright eyes, iron gray hair turning white, side whiskers and moustache, shaved on chin, generally dretsed wall in dark suit and blaok felt hat, smart gentlemanly appearance, walks quickly, speaks Sootoh accent. W ill likely endeavour to leave the country. Polioe officers are requested to make special search and inquiry at all outwa^ d- bouud vessels, railway stations, hotels, boarding- houses, and other likely places, with the view of tracing and securing the arrest of this man. Any infoimation as to his where abouts or likely to lead to trace of him, to be at once communicated to the Chief Constable, City Polic< Office, Edinburgh. W. EMBEZZLEMENT OP £ 223 17*. 9d. ARGYLE LITSTER, described in issue of 9th September, not arrested. Central Police Chambers, Glasgow, 1st August, 1890. ( 334 H. C.) Renfrewshire. EMBEZZLEMENT of £ 47 18s. LJDL Wanted here, on a Sheriff's Warrant, charged with embezslement of £ 47 l& s. llrf, the property of a firm of bakers in this burgh, in whose employment he was 88 a traveller:— JAMES BROWN M'KENDRICK, about 23 years of age, 5 feat 9 inches in height, slender make, dark hair, parted in centre and inclined to cuil, slight dark moustache, and small side whiskers, otherwise clean shaved, daik eyes, sallow complexion j speaks thick and excited, and with a Glasgow accent; dressed, when last seen, in a blue broad- twilled jacket suit, black felt hat, and wore Lome shoes. Accused absconded on the 14t i August last Police officers are requested to make particular search and enquiry for the above described person, and should he be traced or arrested communicate with the Subscribcr. Wanted here, on a Sheriff's Warrant, charged with the theft of £ 19 2s. 7d., and a leather Gladstone bag, JOHN MARTIN, a rivetter, 33 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches in height, a native of Dumbarton, sandy fair hair and moustache, shaved cheeks, ordinary make, scar on bridge of nose, stiff gait when walking, and speaks with Scotch accent. Dressed when he left his home at 33 White- street, Govan, on 22nd ult., in a black cord shooting coat and vest, light gray tweed trowsers, and round black felt hat. Accused will probably seek employment as a rivetter ia a shipbuilding yard. Polico officers are requested to malje particular search and enquiry for the above- described person, and should he be traced or attested, communicate with the subscriber. Description of a pony, the property of John Redington, Esq., of Galway, which wai stolen from the yard of Mrs. O'Connor, of Prospect Hill, parish of St. Nicholas, barony of Galway, on the 4th day of September, 1890:— Black horse pony, long switch tail, 1} years old, mark of scrape or cut on out ide of hind leg; value for £ 10.
