Antrim, Description of JAMES STERLING ( mother's surname Campell), native of Belfast, who stands charged with having, on the 10th of July 1890, in the barony of Upper Belfast, parish of Sbankhill, forged a cheque for £ 6 8s., and receiving amount of same :— Wore all his beard, which is dark, tinged with gray, dark eyes, regular nose, sallow completion, regu ar face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair tinged with gray ; wore a low hard hat, dark coat, gray trowuers, and dark vest; is a dealer in empty casks and barrels. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Belfast North. Belfast Norlh, 22nd July, 1890. ( c, 79110.) JOHN BAILIE or BELL and WILLIAM J. M'ILROY ( young offenders), described in Hue- and- Cry of 3rd June last, not arrested. ( 317 H. C.) Armagh. Description of PATRICK CUMISKY, native of Crossmaglen, who stands charged with having, on the 7th day of July, 1890, in the barony of Upper fews, parish of Creggan, attempted to rape a servant girl named Elizabeth Linden, at Carrally:— Scar on one of his temples, high cheek bones, shaves all his face except moustache which is dark, gray eyes, regular noseosallow complexion, thin face, stout make, 5 leut 8 HIMfi. * high, about 32 years of age, dark hair ; wore a capjptrk tweed coat, trowters, and vest; is a tramp, fiddler, ai d scutcher. Cork* Description of a MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 14th July, 1890, in the barony of Imokilly, parish of Midleton, fraudulently received the sum of £ 6 li » . from Michael O'Dwyer, of Glenbarahane, county Limer- ick, by representing himself to be the agent of the owner of some pigs which O'Dwyer had bought from Philip Hegarty, Ballinvoher, Cloyne:— Sallow complexion, thin short face, stout make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair, black moustache cut straight acrots with long ends, blaok whiskers ; wore a slightly faded hard low- hat, mouse- coloured coat, trowsers and vest. Warrant for arrest in hands of District Inspector, Midleton. Midleton, 18th July, 1890. ( 3512 c.— 79017). Description of DANIEL CARTY ( mother's sur- name Leary), native of Clounties, county Cork, who stands charged with having, on the night of 26th Jane, 1890, in the barony of W. D. E. Carbery, parish of Fanlobbus, unlawfully assaulted, beaten, and inflicted grievous bodily harm on Michael Walsh, of Clounties, in county of Cork:— Small dark moustache, dark eyes, regular nose, dark swarthy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 23 years of age, dark hair; wore a solt flat cap, black coat, and frieze trowsers; is a labourer. Warrant in hands of the District- Inspector, R. I. C., Dunmanway. Dunmanway, 1st July, 1890. ( 3171 c.— 78415.) Description of JOHN SHEEHAN ( mother's sur- name Sheehan), and JOHN BUCKLEY ( mother's surname M'Namara), natives of Killeen, who stand charged with having, on the 22nd day of May, 1890, in the barony of East Muskerry, parish of Matehy, been concerned, with others now in custody, in stealing seven sheep and five lambs, tho property of Hanorah Murphy, of - Killeen:— 1. Gray eyes, short nose, fair complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 30 years ot age, fair hair; wore a black cap, brown tweed coat, brown trowsew, and vest; is a labourer. 2. Dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, thin face, smart make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair; wore a black cap, black coat, trowsers, and vest; was in America, and speaks with American accent; is a labourer. Description of JOHN LANE, native of Carrig, county Cork, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd May, 1890, in the barony of Barrymore, parish of Ardnageehy, committed a rape on one Hannah O'Brien, a girl of 15 years of age:— Down- looking, shaves all his face, gray eyes, long thin nose, fair com- plexion, thin face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair, has a fresh cut on the back of the head caused by a blow of a stone; wore a hard black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vost; is a farmer's son, and jobs in sheep and cattle, Will endeavour to emigrate. Warrant issued. Fermoy, 1890. ( 2471 c.— 77209.) JAMES M'CARTHY ( stealing sheep), described in issue of 24th June, not arrested. ( 2016 c.— 76368.) Donegal. Description of JOHN M'CANN, native of Cork, who stands charged with having, on the 7th day of June, 1890, in the barony of Banagh, parish of Inver, fired at and wounded one Bridget Gallagher, at Meen- tucahan, in said county:— One front tooth out in upper left jaw, brown eyes, cocked nose, swarthy com- plexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 38 years of age, dark brown hair turning gray s wore a gray tweed two- peak cap, old light- coloured tweed coat, tweed trowsers, and old worn shoes, no stockings; is a tramp, no occupation. This man is in custody, and may have committed other offences. Ballyshannon, 11th June, 1890. ( 2656 c.— 77550.) D. TUMNEY ( assault), described in Hue- and- Cry of 6th May ; not arrested. ( 99681 73233). Dublin. Particulars relative to Convict JAMES BYRNE, c. 9, convicted at Dublin City Sessions, on 1st October, 1885, for larceny from person, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 27 years of age on CON- viction, single; is a shoemaker; born at Kingstown, resided in Dublin before conviction:— Black hair, blue eyeB, dark eyebrows, long thin nose, smJl mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, slight make, 5 feat If inches high, brown flesh mark on left elbow, cut scar over right eyebrow. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 25th September, 1889, and went to reside in Dublin. He left the North Dublin Union without reporting himself to the Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. He was seen selling racing cards at the Curragh on 24th ult. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sec. 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 331 H. C.) Galway. Description of JOHN HEAPHY, native of Fermoy, county Cork, who stands charged with having, on the* 26th June, 1890, in the barony of Kiltartan, parish of Kilmacduagh, absconded, em- bezzling the sum of 14$. Id. from his employer, Mr. Michael M'Carthy, ot Gort:— Right eye bloodshot, full brown beard, small eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 40 years of age, brown hair; wore a round brown hat, much worn, faded brown coat, blue trowsers; is a protes- sional tramp. Description of ELLEN HURLEY, native Clabane, who stands charged with having, on tbe 7th July, 1890, in the barony of Trughenacimy, parish of rralee, stolen a female donkey ( described under head- ing " Animals Stolen,') tbe property of Thomas Spring, Esq, Coroner of Tralee :— Middle aged and speaks with a strong Kerry accent, gray eyes, cocked nose, pale complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair; sells sugarstick and sweets at fairs and markets. Warrant for her arrest is in the hands of the police at Tralee, Tralee, 10th Jclj, 1890. ( 3337 c.— 78744). RODGER SPILLANE ( serious assault), described in llue- aad- Cry of 13th May, not arrested. ( 1808 c.— 75957.) MATHEW LEARY ( juvenile absconder), des- cribed in Hue- and- Cry of 13th May, not arrested. ( 1292 c.— 74969.) Kildare. Description of CHARLES DOHERTY, native of Kingsbog, who stands charged with having, on the night of 26th June, 1890, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Kildare, attacked the dwelling- house of John Hanbridge, of Brallistown, with intent to do the owner bodily harm:— Gray eyes, regular nose, callow com- plexion, sunken face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore a soft black bat, dark coat, dark tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a labourer. Description of Sapper JOHN EGLESTON, 22,802, 17th Battalion, Field Company, Royal Engineers, who absented himself without leave from tbe Curragh Camp, on 7th June, 1890:— Vaccination mark on left arm, scar on right side of head, blue eyes, light brown hair, fresh complexion, 5 feet 6J inches high, 22 years of age j dressed in regimentals; is a carpenter; born in tfcc parish of St. Peter's, Dublin, and enlisted at Birr. JAMES MAHER ( cattle stealing), Hue- and- Cry, 4th July, not arrested. ( 1997 c— 76334.) PATRICK BURKE ( arson), described in Hue- and Cry of 13th May, not arrested. ( 579 73574.) King's. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on Sunday, the 6th July, 1890, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School at King's County:— THOMAS SHERLOCK. No. 1,073, 19 or 20 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, slight make, pale complexion, dark brown hair, weak brown eyes, long nofc, small mouth, oval visage, two middle toes of right foot stuck together; dressed in a soft felt hat, blno serge jacket, corduroy trawsers and vest, Blucher boots. Formerly belonged to 56, Beresford- street, Dublin. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the exponscs of bis conveyance, if arrested, to tho nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. ( 130 H. C ) Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on tho 30th . June, 1890, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory Schcol, at King's County:— MARTIN CROWLEY, No. 1,310, 17 years of age, 5 feet 2 inches high, strong make but not stout, fresh complexion, brown hair, gray eyes; formerly belonged to Kilrush, county Clare, where his father resides; little finger off left hand. The school dress consists of moleskin trowsers, black molwkin vest, corduroy jacket, leather leggings ( at time of leaving), Glengarry cap, Bluchcr boots. The boy is believed to be now tramping in country parts barefooted. The Managor of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if atrestod, to tho nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. ( 328 H. C. Limerick. PATRICK DALY ( absconding), described in is ue of 24 th June, not arrested. New Pallas, 5th April, 18S0. ( 94064 c— 75417.) BRIDGET SHEEHY ( arson), doscribed in Hue- It'd- Cry of 6th May; hot arrested. ( 594 c.— 73615.) Londonderry, Particulars relative to Convict GEORGE WALKER, c 62, convicted at Londonderry Quarter Sessions, on the 4th June, l886, for burglary, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude :— 52 years of age on conviction, single; is a labourer; born at Londonderry, where he resided before conviction ; his friends reside at Rosemount, Londonderry:-- Brown hair, blua eyes, sandy eyebrows, large nose, small mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, bald on top of head, cut mark on right temple. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison on 31st May, 1890, and went to Londonderry. He failed to make his usual monthly report on 30th nit., to the R. I. C. at Rosemount, Londonderry, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under sea. 5 of 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 329 H. C.) SAMUEL CANNING ( stealing), described in Hue and- Cry of 13th May, not arrested. JANE M'MULLAN, described in issue of 28th March, 1890, not arrested. ( 550 o.— 73518.) Louth. Description of TWO MEN, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of 21st or morning of 22nd inBtant, in tho barony of Upper Dundalk, parish of Haggardstown, stolen the following articles from the Roman Catholic Chapel of Haggardstown:— A silver chalice, ciborium, silver spoon, and collecting plate :— 1. Stooped shoulders, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 60 years of age, dark hair turning gray; woro a black frock coat, light trowsers, and vest. 2. Full face, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair, sanely moustache; wore a short black coat, white moleskin trowsers, light vest. Dundalk, 26th May, 1890. ( 2382— c. 77018.) MICHAEL GROGAN ( malicious injury), des- cribed in Hue- and- Cry of 13th May, not arrested. ( 1165 c.— 74731.) Mayo. Description of a MAN, who gave the name cf M'DONNELL, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 29th day of May, 1890, in the baronies of Carra and Clanmorris, parishes of Carra and Balla, obtained sums of money by false pretences from the Rev. Edward Gibbons, P. P., of Balla, and Rev. P. Lyons, P. P., of Castlebar:— Intelligent, good address, no b? ard or whiskers, dark moustache; dark complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard black bat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest, much worn, bright silver or metal Albert chain ; is a tramp gardener. This man seems an adept at obtaining small sums of money, and will probably continue his plans. District Inspector at Castlebar holds a Warrant for his arrest. Castlebar, 6th June, 1890. ANDREW DOOHAN ( assault), described in issue of 24th June, not arrested. Ballaghaderreen, 8th March, 1890. ( 825 c 4080.) Queen's. Description of DANIEL RYAN, native of Bawn- more, county Kilkenny, who stands charged with having, on tho 1st April, 1890, in the barony of Clondonagh, parish of Rathdowney, embezzled the sum of £ 22, which he received for two head of cattle sold by him for Edward Bowe, of Rathosheen, county Kilkenny:— Slight stoppage in speech, slight cast in eyes, one of which is slightly injured and watery ( supposed left), smart appearance, and walks erect; slightly cocked nose, florid complexion, slightly blotched face, medium make5 feet 6 inches high, about 64 years of age; wore a dark tweed coat, corduroy trowsera, dark tweed vest when he absconded, but bought new clothes in Kilkenny next day; is a labourer. This man worked in Hull, Yorkshire, and was in America. Warrant in hands of District Inspector, Abbeyleix. Abbeyleix, 1 Oth April, 1890. ( 1602 75600.) Roscommon. Description of a MAN, name and native place unknown, who slands charged with having, on the 18th day of July, 1890, in the barony cf Castlerea, parish cf Baslisk, stolen the sum of £ 6 13s. 3d. from the dwelling- house cf Patrick Walder, of Lisolway. He obtained admission to tho house by stating ha was a p'aa of campaign agent, and that the police were in pursuit of him; it has since been learned that this man imposed on another farmer in the tame manner a few weeks ago Smart active appearance, brown eyes, regular nos*, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark brown hair ; wore a brown felt hat, bhek cloth coat, trowsers, and vest of same material; had a watch and chain, rather respectable looking. Sllgo. 4m , ci^ ffe Description of JOHN M'DERMOTT, na Drumfad, who stands charge 1 with having, 26th May, 1890, in tho barony of Carbury, parish of Rosinver, stolen three head of cattle, the property of Mrs. Anne Dwyer, which have since been recovered :— Sallow complexion, thin face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 50 years of age, slightly bald; wore a soft hat, black necktie, and gray frieze coat; is a small farmer. Warrant in the hands of the police. Sligo, 4th Jane, 1890. ( 2526 c.— 77304). Description of MICHAEL WALSH ( mother's surname Casey), native of Cashelduff, county Mayo, who stands charged with having, on the 15th May, 1890, in the barony of Leyney, parish of Achonry, and townland of Curry, unlawfully assaulted. James Feely, thereby placing his life in danger:— Smart active appearar. ee, gray eyes, regular nose, pale com- plexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 18 years of age, dark hair; wore a white tweed cap with peak, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest * is & labourer. Tubbercnrry, 21st May, 18S0. ( 2248c 76769.) Tipperary. Particulars relative to Convict PATRlCK O'BRIEN, c 263, convicted at Clonmel Assizes, eounty Tipperary, on 19th July, 1888, for the larceny of a pair of blankets, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 26 years of age on conviction, fiogle; is a labourer; born at Clonmel, where he resided before conviction, and wbero his friends reside :— Dark brotvn hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, medium nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 5 feet 5f inches high, cut mark left side of head and between left thumb and forefinger, burn mark on left knee and shin. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on 20th December, 1889, and went to reside at Clon- mel. He failed to report himself to the R. I. C. there on the 2nd inst, he is suspcctcd of having committed larceny end his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest be should be dealt with under s ction 5 of 34 and 35 Vic,, cap. 112. ( 331 H. C.) Description of EDMOND FARRELL, native of Killenaule, county Tipperary, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd March, 1890, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Kelick Murry, had in his possession, knowing them to have been stolen, two asses, value £ 2 10s. ( since recovered), and the property of John Hogan:— Gray or blue eyes, regular nose, very fresh complexion, thin hardy face, medium make, about 5 feet 7 inches high, about 27 years of age, fair hair, face all shaven except small sandy meustache; wore a tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed vest. This man generally wears a silver coloured watch chain, but has no watch attached. He belongs to the Army Reserve, and has a soldier- like appearance. Warrant in hands cf the police. Description of ANDREW GALLAGHER, native of Churchtown, who stands chargod with having, on the 10th June, 1890, in the barony of West Omagh, parish of Skirts of Urney, stolen a horse, the property o/ his brother, William Gallagher, of Churchtown:— Large lump bottom of abdomen as if ruptured, shaved except small fair side whiskers, flat feet, gray eyes, thick nose, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 50 yeirs of ago, fair hair; wore a gray tweed short coat, gray trowsers and vest. Warrant in hands of tho Constabulary. Strabrae, 11th June, 1890. ( 2711 c.— 77632.) PATRICK SHARKEY ( rape), described in Hue- and- Cry of 13th May, not arrested. ( 517 c.— 73739.) Waterford. Description of MICHAEL POWER, of no fixed residence, who stands charged with having, on the morning of the 16ih May, 1890, in the barony of Upperthird, parish of Dysert, feloniously broken into the dwelling- house of Ellen Mara, at Kildraughtane, and indecently assaulted her therein :— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, oval face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 45 years of age, fair hair turning gray, and sandy whiskers and motwache turning gray, chin shaved; wore a hard felt hatB. uch worn, old gray tweed coat much too large, oldTweed trowsers lighter color than coat, no vest; is a labourer. Description of TWO MEN, names unknown, who stand charged with having, in company with Thomas Bracken ( arrested), on the 25th June, 1890, in the barony of Corkaree, parish o: r Bathconnell, assaulted one Patrick Commer, and robbed him of the sum ol £ 1 \ 5*., consisting of one pound note with " Parsons" written on back of it, also a bit out of one corner, a half sovereign, and five shillings in silver:— ]. Sallow complexion, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, no beard or whiskers; wore a black soft hat, tweed coat and trowsers; is a cattle drover. 2. Native of Longford, thin nose, dark complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feat 5 or 6 inches high, about 40 years of age, black hair, wore all his beard, which is black, with moustache much heavier than hour J, dirty- looking face; woro a black torn coat and brown tweod trowsers. Mullingar, 26th June, 1890. ( 3055 c.— 78223.) MICHAEL LOUGHLIN ( indecent assault), de- scribed in hue- and- Cry of 18th March, not arrested. ( 87 c.— 72727.) Wexford. Description of PATRICK LARDY, native of New Ross, who stands charged with having, on the 10th May, 1890, in tho barony of Bantry, parish of St. Mary's, embezzled £ H 10j., the property of the New ross Brass Band Committee:— Gray eyes, regular rose, sandy complexion, long thin face, slight make, 6 feet high, about 26 years of age, sandy bair j wore a hard brown hat, long striped coat, trowsers; and vest; all clothes same material; is an attorney's clerk ; generally carries a stick. It is supposed that he will endeavour to leave the country for Spain or America. It is earnestly requested that immediate enquiries be made to trace and arrest him. Information to Supt. Strongly suppected of having stolen above:— JOHN M'LEOD, a labourer, native of Glasgow, crucifix and heart on left arm, cross and anchor on right arm, 29 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches in height, light brown hair, no whiskers, sandy moustache, gray eyes, common nose, long face, fresh complexion, slender make; dressed in a light double- peaked cap, dark Tartan necktie, dark corded coat, light brown striped tweed trowsers ( light fitting), and heavy lacing boots. Two- year- old heifer, red colour, white spot cn fore head and belly, figure 2 on right horn. 2. Two- year- old bullock, grayish colour, figure 4 on right horn. 3.
