REGTJLATXOJiTS. fP" All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Communication. No Descri|> tion can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. %• Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this Information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the • Ivolition of Gaols, Stations, ifcc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description of JOHN LANE, native of Carrig, county Cork, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd May, 1^ 90, in the barony of Barrymore, parish of Ardnageehy, committed a rape on one Hannah O'Brien, a girl of 15 years of age:— Down- looking, shaves all his face, gray eyes, long thin nose, fair com- plexion, tbin face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair, has a fresh cat on the back of the head caused by a blow of a stone; wore a hard black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son, and jobs in sheep and cattle. Description of CHARLES DOHERTY, senior, and CHARLES DOHERTY, junior, natives of Bally shannon, who stand charged with having, on the 30th June, 1890, in the barony of Tyrhugh, parish of Kilbarron, seriously assaulted Patrick Coyle:— 1. Knock- kneed, hazel eyes, regular nose, s earthy complexion, long face, very stont make, 6 feet high, abou 55 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, dark tweed trowse; s, and moleskin vest; is a tin- smith. 2. Hazel eyes, regular ncse, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 teet 11 inches high, about 20 or 21 years of age, fair hair ; wore a dark tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers, and moleskin vest; is a tin- smith. ( 3172 c.—- 78423.) ~ Description of JOHN M'CANN, native of Cork, who stands charged with having, on the 7th day ot June, 1890, in the barony of Banagh, parish of inver, fired at and wounded one Bridget Gallagher, at Meen- tucahan, in said connty :— One front tooth out in npper left jaw, brown ejes, cocked nose, swarthy com- plexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 38 years of ago, dark brown hair turning gray; wore a gray tweed two- peak cap, old light- coloured tweed coat, tweed trowsers, and old worn shoes, no stockings; is a tramp, no occupation. Description of JOHN HEAPHY, native of Fermoy, county Cork, who stands charged with having, on the 26th June, 1890, in the barony of Kiltartan, parish of Kilmacduagh, absconded, em- bezzling the sum of Id from his euiplover, Mr. Michael M'Carthy, of Gort Right eye bloodshot, full brown beard, small eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 40 em's of age, brown hair; wore a round brown h v, much worn, faded brown coat, blae trowsers; is a profes- sional tramp. Description of CHARLES DOHERTY, native of Kingsbo.;, who stands charged with naving, on the night of 26th June, 1890, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Kildare attacked the dwelling- house of John Hanbridge, of Brallistown, with intent to do the owner bodily harm:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fallow com- plexion, sunken face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore a soft black hat, dark coat, dark tweed trowsers, and dark vast; is a labourer. Description of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 30th June, 1890, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, at King's County:— MARTIN CROWLEY, No 1,3) 0, 17 years of age, 5 feet 2 inchos higb, strong make but not stout, fresh complexion, brown hair, gray eyes; formerly belonged to Kilrush, county Clare, where his father resides; little finger off left hand. The school dress consists of . moleskin trowsers, black moleskin vest, corduroy jacket, leather leggings ( at time of leaving), Glengarry cap, Blu, chrr boots. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if airested, to the nearest Justice, on reman^, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. ( 328 h. C.) Description of a MAN, who gave the name of M'DONNELL, native place unknown, » ho stands charged with having, on the 29th day of May, 1890, in the baronies of Carra and Clanmorris, parishes of Carra and Balla, obtained sums of money by false pretMic- s from the Rev. Edward Gibbons, P. P., ot Balla, and Rev. P. Lyons, p p., of Castlebar:— Intelligent, good address, no beard or whiskers, dark moustache; daek complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about • 45 years of age, dark hair ; wore a hard black hat, dark coat, troirser*, and vest, much worn, bright silver or metal Albert chain ; is a tramp gardener. Description of DANIEL RYAN, native of Bawn- more, county Kilkenny, who stands charged with having, on the 1st April, 1890, in the barony of Clondonagh, parish of Rathdowney, embezzled the sum of £ 22, which be received for two head of cattle sold by him for Edward Bowe, of Rathosheen, county Kilkenny:— Slight stoppage in speech, slight cast in eyes, one of which is slightly injured and watery ( supposed left), smart appearance, and walks crect; slightly cocked nope, florid complexion, slightly blotched face, medium make5 feet 6 inches high, about 64 years of nge; wore a dark tweed coat, corduroy trowser- i dark tweed vest when be absconded, but bought new clothe.? in Kilkenny next day; is a labourer. Description of JOHN M'DERMOTT, native of Drunsfad, who stands charged with having, on the 26th May, 1890, in tho barony . of Carbury, parish of Rosinver, stolen three head of cattle, the. property of Mrs. Anne Dwyer, which have since been recovered :- Sallow complexion,, thin face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, abont 50 years of ace, slightly bald ; wore a soft hat, black necktie, and gray frieze coat; is a small farmer. ( 22! 8c.— 76769.) ^ Tipperary, Description of EDMOND FARSELL, native of Killenaule, county Tipperary, who stands charged with having, on the 23rd March, 1890, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Keliek Murry, had m his possession, knowing them to have been stolen, tyro asses, value £% Ws ( since recovered), and the property of John Hogan :—- Gray or bine eyes, regular nose, very fresh complexion, thin hardy face, medinm make, abont 5 feet 7 inches high, about 27 years of age, fair hair face all shaven except small sandy moustache; wore a tweed coat, corduroy trowserw, tweed vest. This' man generally wears a silver coloured watch chain, but has no watch attached. He belongs to the Army Reserve, and has a soldier- like appearance. Warrant in hands of " the police. Description of ANDREW GALLAGHER native of Churchtown, who stands ch arged with having, on the lOth June, 1890, in the barony of West Omagh, parish of Skirts.< if Urney, stolen a horse, the property ot his brother, William Gallagher, of Churchtown:— Large lump bottom of abdomen as if ruptured, shaved except small fair side whiskers, flat feet, gray eyes, thick nose, fair complexion, full face, stint make, 5 foot 8 inches high, about 50 years of age, fair hair; wore a g'ay tweed short coat aray trowsers and vest. Description of MICHAEL POWER, of no fixed residence, who stands charged with having, on the morning of the 16 b Mar, 1^ 90, in the barony of Upperthird, parish of Dysert, feloniously broken i> to the dwelling- house of Ellen Mara, at Kildraughtane, and indecently assaulted her therein :— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, oval ( ace, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 45 years of age fur hair turning gray, and sandy whiskers and moustache turning gray, chin shaved; wore a h* rd fe't hat t . uch worn, old gray tweed coat much too Urge, old tweed trowsers lighter color than coat, no vn* t; is a labourer. Description of TWO MEN, names unknown,. w o stand charged with having, in company with Thomas Bracken ( arrested), on tbe 25th June, 1890, in the barony of Corkaree, parish of Rathconnell, a.- sault'jd one Patrick Commer, and robbed him of the sum of £ 1 15*,, consisting of one pound note with " Parsons" written on back of it, also a bit out of one corner, a half sovereign, and five shillings ia silver :— 1. Sallow complexion, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, no beard or whiskers; wore a black soft hat, tweed coat and trowsers; is a cattle drover. 2. Native of Longford, thin nose, dark complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 ( eat 5 or S inches high, about 40 years of age, black hair, wore all his beard, which is black, with moustache much heavier than beard, dirty- looking face; wore a black torn coat and brown tweed trowser*. Absconded on the 6th June, 1890, charged with embezzling the sum of £ 5C0, the property of the Cumberland Union Bank ( Penrith Branch) STANLEY MARTIN, bank cashier, Penrith, about 40 years of age, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, black hair, moustache and beard, sallow complexion, prominent eyes, small scar on one cheek, placid expression of face, and proportionate figure. It is supposed that he will endeavour to leave the country for Spain or America. It is earnestly requested that immediate enquiries be made to trace and arrest him. Information to Supt. Wanted here on a Sheriff's Warrant, charged with • theft of 106 dozen ladies' Jerseys, value £ 237, the property of a Berlin manufacturer, for whom he acted as agent, JOHN FERGUS, a commission agent, late of 85, Queen- street, Glasgow:— 40 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, stout made, florid complexion, face • lightly blotched, slight brownish beard, whiskers, and moustache, dark brown hair, prominent nose which is very red, apparently throagh drink, uneasy twitching appearance when speaking, always well dressed and at present is believed to be wearing a new tweed suit aid brown felt hat, wears a white shirt with turned- down collar attached, has a diamond ring on one of fingers of left hand. May be found in the company of loose women. Is unmarried, and resided with his father at 16, Grafton- street, here. Absconded on 13th May last, and may endeavour to leave the country. Stolen, on 16th June. 1890, from a room in Stirling Castle, Stirling:— A black leather cigarette case, has « badge of 72nd Luke of Albany's Highlanders pinned on c utside, and a card pocket on other side; a Regi- mental Argyll and Sutherland Highlander's " Skein Dhu;" a silver Regimental Argyll and Sutherland Highlander's " Brooch." Strongly suspected of having stolen above :•— JOHN M'LEOD, a labourer, native of Glasgow, crucifix and heart cn left arm, cross and anchor on right arm, 29 years of age, 5 feet f> irches in height, light brown hair, no whiskers, sandy moustache, gray eyes, ciromcn nose, long faca, fresh mplexiou, slender , wakc; dressed in a light double- peaked cap, dark Tartan necktie, dark corded coat, light brown striped trowsers ( tight fitting), and heavy lacing boots. ^•^ gtVling, 19 th June, 1890. |( 326 H. Murray, Lieutenant of 3rd Hussars, which was stolen from his room in Charles Fort Barracks, on 29th June, 1890, by some person at present unknown:— An old gold double- cased lever watch, made by Alexander Smart, of London, very large, number not known. A reward of £ 10 has been offered for the recovery of the watch, and the apprehension of the person who stole it. Kinsale, 5th July, 1890. ( 3241 c.— 78565.) Dublin. Description of a coat, dessert knives and forks, and nut crackers, the property of the Rev. James Healy, P. P., which were stolen out of his house in the parish of Old Connaught, barony of Rathdown, on the night of the 23rd or morning of 24th May, 1890:— A dark gray cover coat, heavy material, rather short, split in skirt, and almost new.
