MIDLOTHIAN. 81.— Edinburgh ( City).— On the evening of Sunday, 20th October, 1889, on the arrival of a special train containing a numerous company of theatrical artistes, a theft took place at the Caledonian Railway Station in Edinburgh of a valuable set of jewels belong- ing to the leader of the company. The theft was managed very adroitly, and in such a manner as to lead to the belief that it was the work of one or more clever travelling thieves. The porter who took the luggage called a cab, and put the dressing- bag which enclosed the jewel- case containing the stolen articles into it, but as another cab had been engaged unknown to the porter, he was told to remove the luggage from the cab in which he had put it, and it was then found that the dressing- case, with its valuable contents, had been abstracted from the cab— it is supposed from the side furthest from the station. The dressing- case has since been discovered in a private lodging- house, where quarters had been taken by a man whose description ( No. 1) is appended hereto. Since the theft it has been discovered that other two men ( No?. 2 and 3) were in the city at the time of the theft, and had been in communication with No. 1, and they all took their departure under peculiar circum- stances the same night. Everything points to the theft having been planned and carried out by the three men after described, and the co- operation of the Police is earnestly requested to secure their arrest, as it is believed that even if nothing is heard of the jewels evidence will be obtainable to secure their con- viction. A reward of £ 100 is offered by the owner for the recovery of the stolen jewellery and arrest of the thieves, or in proportion to the amount recovered, and of this reward £ 20 is offered alone for the apprehension of the thieves. Any information or photographs of thieves likely to be concerned in such a theft will be esteemed. J^ OTESCO Many people say, " How is it yon claim that your medicines cure so many diseases." We answer :— In ancient times, when heathenism was rampant, people believed in a god or all good, asd a god for all evil; a god for joy, and a god for sorrow ; a god to give sickness, and a god to heal sickness. Jupiter ruled the land and Neptune ruled the sea. Ceres gave us agriculture, Venus gave us love, and Hebe youth. Now we have grown wiser ; we believe in one God only— whose word was power- ful enough to create EVERYTHING. IS it not possible for that same God to send us one remedy by which we shall cure most things 1 There are a great many locks, and to each lock is a key, but it is not every- one who can turn the key. Our " Notesco " is the key to open the doors. Applied externally, ft works through the skin and reaches the disease. Taken internally a few times, the doors are opened, the disease escapes like a convict out of gaol, with the intention of never returning. Sickness is just like a burglar— it will s. tj< jal in, either through a cold, dampness of the houses, adulterated food, or from the impure, foul air of crowded tenements, or sewer gas, from which we have to suffer, in this and other cities. The thief is inside ; you can't get him out because the key don't fit. We now give you the true key. Our medicine is an enemy to corruption and pain. Any corruption it eats away, any pain it relieves at once. Try it. Be warned in time; keep a stock of " Notesco in the house. We claim our " Notesco " is superior to any medicine ever presented to the public, and we claim it with justice. NOTESCO. JYOTESCO— NO MORE CONGESTION of the LUNGS. • JYOTESCO.- NO MORE BRONCHITIS.
