( Pi'/' All Notices intended for insertion in the Huf .- Cry are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated by a Separate Gommunicati No Description can be insei'ted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward tho Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a " Warrant has been issued, and by tho namo of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of . this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. *„* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward o " the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, & c., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description of GEORGE M'DONNELL ( mother's surname Boyd) native of Ballyminster, near Ahoghill, who stands charged with naving, on the 25th Decent - ber, 1887, at Castletown, in the barony of Lower foome, parish of Portglenone, committed a rape, for which offence he was bailed to appear and take his trial at Belfast Assizes, on 15th March, 1688, but failed to do so :— Burn mark on cne side of reck, net known which, mark of old cut on top of head, smait active appearance ; dark ej es, long nose, dark com- plexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet JO inches high, about 22 years of age, black hair, slight dt. rk moustache ; wore a dark tweed cap, gray tweed coat, trowscrs, and vest, much worn ; is a labourer. Description of a WOMAN, name unknown, who stands charged wi'h hating, on tie morning of 11th May, 1888, in the barony of Kilcoursey, parish of Kilbride, abandoned a child about a month old, thereby endangering its life :— Brown eyes, aquiline nose, pale c< mplexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 5 inches high about 20 or 22 years of age, black hair; wore a green linsey drrss, and dark gray shawl, with white spots or sti i| es, no boots. Inscription of JOHN FITZPATRICK, native of county Cavan, who stands charged with having, on the 14th April, 31st October, and 27th December, 188?, in the barony of Mohill, parish of Mohill, feloniously forged a Memorial, a Bond, and a Bill of Exchange, with intent to defraud the Commissioners oi Public Works in Ireland:— Round shoulders, looks like a hunch- back, wore all his board which is sandy hnd tinged with gray, even gait; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 50 years of age, brown hair; wore a black felt hat, black frock coat, gray tweed trowsers, and black vest; formerly a farmer. Description of WILLIAM KENNEDY ( mother's surname Bridget Keane), native of Doon, who stands charged with having, on the 11th day of May, 1888, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Doon, seriously assaulted William Leahy, by f triking him on the head with a stone, and fracturing his skull:— Black eyes, hooked nose, sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 9 iDches high, about 22 years of age, black hair; wore a two- peaked tweed cap, black serge sa< k coat, jray tweed trowsers ( broken about the knees), gray tweed vest; is a carpenter. Description of PETER MURRAY, native of Carrickedmond, who stands charged with having, on the 26th March, 1888, in the barony of Magdow, parish of Taghsheenod, robbed Thomas Yorke, of Ballintubber, when returning from the Fair of Tashinny, of a £ 5 note:— Scar on left cheek, gray tender eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, broad face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 27 years of age, fair hair ; wore a tweed sack coat, cord trowsers, and tweed vest; is an army reserve man. Des ription of PATRICK KENNEDY, native of Drogheda, who stands chr. rged with having between October, 1887, an the 3rd March, 1888, in the barony of Dri gheda, parish of St Mary's, embezzled several sums oi money, the property of George Galbraith, amounting to £ 4:— 1 ull round face; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 6J inches high, about 31 years of age, black moustache, black hair; wore a blue jacket, tweed trowsers, and vest; was a bread deliverer, and also drove floats and vans; it is suspected that he may be employed at Liverpool, and that he underwent treatment a « hort time since for a varicose vein. Description of PATRICK DARCY, native of Ratoath, who stands ch urged with having, on the 30th April, 1888, in the barony of Ratoath, parish of Dunshaughlin, stolen a suit of Workhouse clothes, the property of Dunshaughlin Board of Guardians :— Is of weak intellect and is continually talking about farming and ploughing, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 50 years of age, hair turning gray, wears all his beard, wore the Workhouse coat, trowsers and vest; was an inmate of Workhouse. Tubbercurry, April 6, 1888. ( 87777 c.— 50574). Tipperary. Description ot THOMAS GORMAN, and JOHANNA GORMAN, natives of Cahir, who stand charged with having, on the 10th day of May, 1888, in the barony of Ifla and OfFa West, parish of Cahir, assaulted the police. JOHANNA GORMAN is also charged with having aided in rescuing Thomas from the custody of tho police :— 1. May have scratchcs or marks on face and head, blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 24 years of age, fair hair, wears all his beard which is fair and short; wore a dark tweed coat, dark brown trowsers, dark vest; is a soldier. 2. High cheek bones, gray eyes, short cock nose, fresh complexion, broad face, medium make, 5 feet 3 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark shawl, and dark dress. Cahir, 11th May, 1888. ( 88470 51766.) high ; large scar on ball of left thumb, fear on head, small cut on forehead, right arm lias been broken at elbow. This man was released on licence from Maryboro' Prison, on 20th October, 1887T He recently left his residence in Belfast without notifying fame to the Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 5th section of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap 112. ( 154 H. c.) Particulars relative to Convict GEORGE KELLY, A 787, convicted at Belfast Hillary Sessions, on 4th December, 1883, for larceny, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude and 3 years' police supervision:— 31 years of age on conviction, married, is a tailor, born in Sligo, resided before conviction at Belfast, where his friends reside; brown turning gray hair, gray eyes, dark eyebrows, large nose, large mouth, sallow complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 1 inch high, pock- marked. This man was released on Licence from Mountjoy Prison, the 27th February, 1888. He recently left his lodgings in Belfast, without informing the Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act 34 & 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 150 H. C.) Particulars relative to Convict RACHEL WALKER, B 83, convicted at Downpatrick, county Down, at the Trinity Sessions, on 13th June, 1882, for larceny after previous conviction for fel - ny, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude:— 50 years of age on conviction, single, born at Downpatrick, resided before conviction in Downpatrick, where her friends reside ; gray hair, hazel eyes, dark eyebrows, long and broad nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, round and short visage, stout make, 5 feet 1 inch high ; scar on right eyebrow. This woman was released from" The Shelter," Dublin, on licence 18th February, 1887, and went to Belfast. She reported to the Royal Iri h Constabulary at Donegal- street, Belfast, on the 13th ult., that she was going to reside at 40, Market- Street, East District, but she lias not reported herself at the latter plnce, and her present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of her arrest she should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 150 H. C.) Convict HENRY MORAN, A 817, not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 1st May, 1888. WILLIAM RAWLINSON, embezzlement, not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 13th March, 1888. ( 140 H. C.) Cumberland. Description of JOHN READ, of 97, Peel- road, Bootle, near Liverpool, Weighman, charged with stealing £ 14 6s., from a dwelling house, in Penrith, on the 29th ult.; he left Penrith same day by train for Preston :— Age 38 years, height 5 leet 11 inches, pale delicate looking, has a cough, big roman nose, blue eyes, dark hair, small light moustache, beard on chin, and slender figure ; dressed in black top coat with velvet collar, dark tweed coat, dark trowsers, and vest, and low hard hat He is . an ex- policeman, and is supposed to be a native of Liverpool; he was under the influence of drink when he left Penrith, and he may be found lodging in a public house. To be arrested, and information sent to Superin- tendent FOWLER, Penrith, who holds the Warrant for his apprehension. Not to be apprehended out of the United Kingdom. Description of ROSE DUFF ( maiden name FINEGAN), mother's surname Marron, native of Mullanary, who, on the 28th day of April, 1888, in the barany of Farney, parish of Killanny, left the houso of her master, Thomas Marron, in the townland of Drumgeeny, where she was employed as a servant, and has not since been heard of, and it is feared that she has met with foul play :— Blue eyes, short nose, red complexion, round face, stout make, about 4 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, sandy hair; wore a dark shawl and a brown dress, a pair of elastic side boots, no hat or bonnet. She is a married woman, her husband is in America for the past three years ; is a servant. She got 5s. from her master when leaving, and stated that she was going to Carrickma- cross to see her father, but she did not go there. Carrickmacross, 15th May, 1888. ( 88528 c 51841.) Description of JAMES DERMODY, supposed nativo of county Tipperary, who stands charged with having, on the 9th day of April, 1888, in the barony of Stradbally, parish of Moy inna, stolon 2 two shilling pieces, a dark tweed frock coat and vest of same material, the property of John Berry, Ballyduff, and and valuo for about nine shillings:— Red lump on face, round stooped shoulders, finger of one hand bent, red eyelids, shews a good deal of white of eyes, gray or blue eyes, large nose, fresh complexion, long faca, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 50 years of age, sandy whiskers, dark hair; wore a now soft hat, long gray coat, and corduroy trowsers, old strong laced boots; • peaks with a Tipperary accent; is a labourer. DAVY, supposed native of Greyfort, and a MAN, name nnknown, supposed native of Greyfort, who stands charged with having, on the morning of 23rd April, 18H8, in the barony of Leyny, parish of Achonry, broken into the house of Owen Lavin, of Carrowrielly, and intimidated him by threats and violence :— 1. Hazel eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, long faco, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 25 or 26 years of age, fair hair; wore a hard black felt hat, and dark tweed clothes, Is a farmer's son. 2. Small fiair si lo whiskers and moustache, shaves upper part of chin, long nose, fair complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 27 or 2S years of age, fair hair; wore a low soft black hat, and knitted cuffs, dark tweed sack coat, dark trowsers and vest. 3. High chock bones, black moustache, no beard or whiskers, swarthy complexion, broad face, very stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsjrs and vest. Description of MARY EGAN ( mother's surname Duffy), native of Tubbercurry, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd April. 18H$. at Tubbercurry, in the barony of Leyney, parish of Achonry, stolen from a cash box, in the d - velling- house of Margaret Connolly ( which wa. 3 forcibly opened), £ 6 in single notes, one half sovereign, and three shillings :— Gray or blue eyes ( cast in one). regular nose, ruddy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 leet 1 inch high, about 22 years of age, dark red or sandy hair; wore a black skirt, cream Tyrone. ROBERT BLACK ( Junior), intent to procure abortion, not arrested; Hua- and- Cry, 27th January, 1888. ( 86369c.— 48131) Waterford. Description of a MAN, name and native place unknown ( refused to give name), who has b: en sentenced to a month's imprisonment under the Vagrancy Act, and is now in Watarford gaol, he fails to give any address or account of himself. There are strong grounds for believing that he has been moving about from place to place in the garb of a R. C. Clergy- man, collecting monies for schools and religious purposes :— Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, rather long face, medium make, about 5 feet 7 inches high, about 35 or 40 years of age, fair hair ; dressed as a R. C. Clergyman; he has prominent front teeth, common expression, walks with a slight stoop. If required, please communicate with the District Inspector, R. I. C., Portlaw. Portlaw, \ pril 2 > tb, 1888. Stolen or strayed on the evening of the 8th instant, from the Royal Barracks, Dublin, FRANCIS CLARKE, aged 3 years and 4 months, dressed in a blue serge sailor suit, full face, blue eyes, fair hair, has a small birth mark on back near shoulders. The above reward will be paid to any person giving such information as will load to the recovery of the child, and the prosecution of the person who has it unlawfully in his pos ession, on application to its father, B ind Sergeant Francis Clarke, Royal Lancaster Regiment, Royal Barracks, Dublin. Description of HENRY MARTIN, wanted here on Warrant, for havin „' unlawfully received by false pretences the sum of £ 1 witli intent to defraud:— He is about 10 years old, 5 feet 6 inches high, stout make, square shoulders, fair hair turning gray, no whiskers, slight moustache, frosh complexion, reddish face ; dressed in black jacket and tweed trowsars. He left Dublin about six weeks ago, and it appaar3 went to Belfast of which town he is a nativo. MAY 18, 1888. Lancaster. FORGERY. Wanted, on Warrant, for forging several acceptances to Bills of Exchange, JOHN QUINLAN, a native of High Bentham, in the West Riding of the county of York, age height 5 feet 8 or 9 inches, eyes gray, light browrisfeui^ Jong whiskers and moustache, sallow complexion. Ho is of a very excitable temperament, and twitches his eyes when talking ; has a habit of biting his finger nails, which are bitten very low; is a brisk walker, but rather weak- kneed. Ho is known to be in London, from where he has sent several telegrams from different offices. The last one was sent to Lancaster last night, the 5th instant, from " King's Cross B," at 6 30 p. m. He will probably endeavour to leave for Australia by the mail, as it has been ascertained that he has provided himself with several articles necessary for travelling. Please cause every enquiry to bo made at hotels, shipping offices, and all other likely places, and if found, arrest and wire me, when an officer will immediately be sent for him. In custody under remand gnd to be tried at the ensuing Assizes, charged with stealing bank notes, value £ 70, from the counti r of the Adalphi Bank, in this city, on the 17th Marsh last, a man giving the name of ROBERT JAMES THOMPSON, alias SMITH, says ho is a broker and a native of Montreal, 28 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, brown hair, gray eyes, fair complexion, " A.
