Mr. Moody gave us a good piece of advice about studying God's Word. He said, Be sure you hunt for something. Take a topic, for instance ; take love, and see what the Bible says about love from Genesis to Revelation ; or grace, or faith, or assurance, or Heaven, and so on. Or take up one word in a book such as the * believes' in St. John ; every chapter but two speaks of believing. Look up the nineteen personal interviews with Christ. Take the conversions of the Bible, bee what 1 John iii. says about assurance, and the six things worth knowing. lake up the five ' precious' things of Peter, the ' verilys' of John the seven ' walks of Ephesians, the ' lookings,' the ' lookings back,' the ' beholds of the Bible. We shall be turprised how our interest in scripture and love for it will increase. Speak to God about it, praise Him for it, ask Him to fulfil it all in us, remember- ing that in prayer we speak to God, in reading the Bible He speaks to us. bpealc, Lord, for Thy servant heareth." Let us study it in His presence, and let this study be daily. If we have found forgiveness through faith in the atoning Blood of Christ, we are happy : but forgiveness, blessed as it is, is not food, and if we have no food, we have no strength. We shall hunger, and the hungry will eat any thing. If we do not go on increasing in the knowledge of Christ, our famished souls will eat readily of the world's dainties, and Satan will not be slow to spread them temptingly before us. If we know our Bibles, Satan will not have much power over us. When the Psalmist speaks of the downward course of the wicked, the contrast he draws between tliem and the righteous man is very striking ; but he says, " his delight is in the Law of the Lord, and in it he dpth meditate day and night." In these last day perils there is no safeguard but in the Word of God. Some ask, " How can we be sure that in our English Bible we have the bona fide revelation of God 1 " God can make us sure of it; if He does not, no one can; if He does, no one need. " Search the scriptures. . . . They are those which testify of Me." TADDY'S HIGH- CLASS TOBACCOS. ALL SMOKERS SHOULD TRY TADDY'S UNRIVALLED MYRTLE GROVE. Delicious, Cool Smoking.
