Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has heen issued, and by the name of the jterson in whose hands it is. Description of the undernamed young Offender, who, on the 10th January, 1888, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School a^ Belfast : ALEXANDER QUINN, 18 years of a| e, light hair, hazol eyes, light eyebrows, sharp nose, fresh complexion, long visage, medium make, 5 feet 3 inches high, is a shoemaker, born at Market- hill. Parents reside at 87, Silvia- street. Scar on back of left hand, several small scars on l^ ck of right side, kick mark on left shin bone. Dress worn by juvenile when he absconded : Moleskin jacket, trowsers, and vest, Glengarry cap, blue and white striped shirt, red and black tie, nailed Blucher boots and woollen stockings, No. 130. Quinn when previously an absconder was hired with a farmer named Blyth, of Brookhill. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. ( 127 H. C.) Description of MAURICE CONNORS, native of Coolykerane, w ® stands charged with having, on the 25th December, 1887, in the barony of Duhallow, parish of Cullen, stabbed Timothy Shine, of Churchill, in the left side with a penknife, thereby placing his life in danjfer :— Drooped shoulders, long neck, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, small thin face, slight make, 5 feet 9J inches high, about 19 years of age, fair hair, no beard, whiskers, or moustache; wore a brown solt hat, dark frock coat, dark corduroy trowsers, and dark vest; is a farmer's soj. Description of TIMOTHY CONNORS, native of Lacksigh, who stands charged with having, on the 20th November, 1887, in the barony of Duhallow, parish of Cullen, been one of a party of five men who, armed and disguised, entered the houses of Ellen Curtain and Miss Philpott, fired shots, and seriously assaulted one Daniel Conway, at Knocknageeha:— Dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a soft black hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Description of THOMAS DONOHUE ( supposed), native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 7th November, 1887, in the barony of Cork parish of St. Nicholas, stolen two coats— No. 1, a top coat, dark brown cloth ; No. 2, a short blueish green cloth shooting coat, with welted seams on sleeves; a brown tweed trowsers and a pair of shooting boots, the property William Vokes, Manager of Lloyd's Circus, aH value for about £ 5 10 « . Supposed to be • wearing the clothes :— Slight squint in one eye ; hazel ( jjres, sharp nose, fresh complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 50 years of age ; wore u solt American hat, black coat, and tweed trowsers; is a confection^, but recently employed as a labourer, and travels with Lloyd's Circus. Warrant in the hands of the Constabulary at Blackrock. Cork South, Nov. 18, 1887. ( 85106 c.— 45638.) Description of JEREMIAH TWOHIG, nativg of Horsemount, who stands cnarged with having, on the 9th November, 1887, in the barony of West Muskerry, parish of Clondrohid, fired a shot at members or the Royal Irish Constabulary with intent to kill:— Smart active appearance, brown eyes, regular nose, faif complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a gray two- peaked cap, gray tweed coat, trowsers, aui vest. KEARSE, native of Cork, an absconding bankrupt, who stands charged with having, on the 13th of August. 1887, i » the barony of Cork, parish of Cork, absconded, and taking with him a large sum of money belonging to his creditors:— Prominent chest, walks erect, active gait, good- looking, c^ eek bones prominent, large thick- dark - moustache; wears several rings; blue or grey eyes, regular nose, f r ^ h complexion, broad face, stout make, 6 feet high, about 40 years of age, brown hair ; wore a dark orercoat; is a banker. Description of JAMES BARRY, native of Lacknacummeen, and DAVID CRONIN, native of Ballinacourtha, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 23rd October, 1887, in the barony of Kinaralea, parish of Clontade, indecently assaulted Catherine Henerty, aged 15 years:— 1. Swaggering gait, walks erect, hollow in back, military appearance, grey eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round full face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 21 years of age, fair hair, dark moustache; wore a black hat^ brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer and militia man. 2. Short thick neck, grey eyes, short slightly cocked nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 17 or ^ f 8 years of age, dark hair: wore a dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer, farmer's son. Description of MARTHA JANE CLARKE, native of Lisburn, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd January, 1888, in the barony of Lower Ards, parish of Bangor, stolen from her einpl yer, James E. Johnston, a pair of lady's laced boots, nearly new, and value for about 12s Xarge blue eyes, cocked nose, fresh complexion, rounti full face, stout make, 5 feet high, ahout 14 or 15 years of age, fair hair; wore a brown fiat trimmed with plu- h, black twilled jacket trimmed with % ack fur, and brown velvet dress ; she accompanies her father, who is a tramp, from town to town. THE POLICE GAZETTE, OR HUE- AND- CRY, FEBRUARY 3, 1888. • Description of JOHN VERNON, alias JOHN M'ILVERNON, native of Ballydavy, who stands charged with having, on the 9th day of December, 1887, at Ballylenaghan, in the barony d Upper Castlereagh, parish of Knockbreda, unlawfully and feloniously broken and entered the dwelling- house* of John Martin, and stealing therefrom one silver Geneva watch, with imitation gold chain a t " ched; one pair of men's laced boots, with hooks at top, toj- capped; a meerschaum pipe, and £ 13, made up as follows:— One five pound note, four one pound notes, two sovereigns, and four halt sovereigns. Some of the one pound notes had the words " Belfast Banking Company, Limited " stamped on back :— Has an impediment in his speech, and twists his mouth when speaking, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inohes high, about 19 years of age, dark red hair; wore a cap, old brown tweed coat, moleskin trowsers, and tweed vest; is a farm labourer. May probably be wearing the stolen boots. Warrant in the hands of the Constabulary at Newtownbreda. Newtownards, Dec. 13, 1887. ( 85586 c— 46598.) Dublin. Description of EDWARD EAGNEY, native of Queen's County, but has friends at Moate, county Westmeath, who stands charged with having," on the 23rd December, 1887, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Taney, escaped from the Central Criminal Asylum, where he was undergoing penal servitude for killing a Nun :— Beard had been clipped, walks a little lame, blue eyes ( sunken), large nose, pale oomplexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 40 years of age, brown hair; wore a striped frieze trowsers and vest, with red stripe down outside of trowsers ; was a tailor while in the asylum, formerly a pedlar. e Dundrum, Dec. 24, 1887. Description o£ FOUR PERSON?, names and native places unknown, who stand charg^ l with having, on the 30th October, 1887, in the barony of Newcastle, parish of Kilmactolway, unlawfully assaulted James Sheridan ( Junior), and robbed him of sixpence :— 1. Sandy complexion, shaved face, 6 feet high, about 30 years of age, sandy hair; wore a moleskin trousers and vest; apparently a Labourer. 2. Dark complexion, 6 feet high, about 20 year., of • age.^ lark hair; wore, a faded blackvcoat, trousers, and vest; apparently a Labourer. ' 3. Sandy complexion, shaved face, 5 feet high, about 40 years of agj, dark hair; wore a dark tweed coat, trousers, and vest; apparently a Labourer. 1 • 4. POI^> NINO OP 18 HUNTERS AT CLONSILLA, COUNTY DUBLIN, ON 8TH OCTOBER, 1887. Captain H. Steeds offers above reward for such intormation as would lead to a conviction for above malicious act. And as large quantities of arsenic, or preparation of arsenic, have been found in the animals poisoned, and in the bran mashes us^ l to convey tho poison, it is desired that all stations should look up chemists, druggists, grocers, < fcc., who may have sold arscnic, or arsenical preparations, such as sheep dips, & c., and communicate with R. C. COLERIDGE, lst D. I., R. I. C. Depot. Kildare. Description of three tramps, who stand charged with having, on the 29th November, 1887, in the barony of Kilcullen, parish of Kilcullen, waylaid and robbed Maurice Dillon, of Knockbounce, county Kildare, and stole from him one pale leather coloured purso fastened with one spring clasp, and which contained one shilling in silver and nine pence in coppers:— 1. JOHN WILLIAMS, alias JOHN CHARLES alms JOHN BERGIN, native of Plymouth, who has been committed for trial to the Winter Assizes, charged with burglary, and robbary of £ 19 7s. 10d., two bottles of whiskey, and some small articles ( which have all been recovered), the property of Mrs Anne Fennin, of Bracknagh. The accused, on the 27th October last, pawned a silver lever hunting watch, No. 26094 ; maker's name, John Johnes, 338 " Strand " which is supposed to have been stole^ Any information regarding him, including previous convictions, to be. addressed to the District Inspector, Athy :—^ larks of sear on left cheek, blue eyes, slightly cocked nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium mak" 5 feet 6 or 7 niches high, a > out 27 or ' 28 years of a » e, sandy hair ; wore a li^ ht tweed coat, tweed trousers, tweed vest; email light' sandy moustache, no beard or whiskers ; goes by tl o name of " Foxy Jack;" served in the army; stage dancer. Description of WILLIAM HOGAN, native of Dublin, who stands charged with having, on the 15th November, 1887, in the barony of East Offaly, parish of Ballysax, stolen a coat and vest, value for £ 1, atgl a pair of elastic side boots much worn, value for 4s.; the coat and vest have been found in a Pawn Office:— Cast in both eyes; regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 38 years of afce; is a Carpenter, and served 12 years in the Royal Engineers; smart active appearance. Warrant in hands of the Kildare Police. Kildare, November 18, 1887, ( 85107 c.— 45639.) King's. Description of PATRICK CRAIG, native of Rathdowney, Queen's county, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd day of April, 1887, in the barony of Ballycown, parish of Kilbride, wilfully deserted his wife Martha Craig and three children, at Tullamore, King's county, whereby they have become destitute and have been since in Tullamore Union Workhouse and receiving relief therein :— Three marks of small pox on right temple, round shoulders and short neck, large blue eyes, regular nose, florid complexion, r* und face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 37 years of age, dark hair; wore a light tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a maltster. A warrant in the hands of the Tullamore Royal Irish Constabulary for his arrest, and the Tullamore Guardians will defray all expenses if arrested. Tullamore, October 26th 1887. ( 84704 c 4* 916.) Limerick. # Descriptions of FRANCIS KEEFFE and MICHAEL REIDY, natives of Templeglautin, wh<* stand charged with having, on the 16th April, 188J, in the barony of Glenquin, parish of Abbeyfeale, at Abbeyfeale, committed an indecent assault on Nano McCarthy. For said offence they were returned for tr£ l « to Quarter Sessions, at Rathkeale, on 7th October, 1887, but failed to appear for trial at said Quarter Sessions :— 1. Dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, th^ hardy face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 23 years of age, dark hair; wor « a jerry hat, dark grey, coat, trousers, and vest; is a Labourer. 2. Longford. • Description of FRANCIS M'GLYNN, native of Drumlish, who stands charged with having on the 2nd January, 1888, in the barony of Longford, and parish of Killoe, seriously assaulted Francis Mullerry, by fracturing his skull, whereby his life is in danger:—• Smart fttive appearance, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair, and small dark moustache; wore a soft hat, light tweed coat, corduroy trousers, and light tweed vest; is a farmer's son. Louth Description of a MAN, name unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 12th day of December, 1887, in the barony of Ardee, parish of Smarmore, committed a rape on one Mary Malone, of Ardee: — Supposed to have the mark of a bite on the back of one of his hands ; pale complexion, whitish face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 24 years of age ; wore a *> und black cap, frieze coat, corduroy trowsers; supposed to be a tramp. Mayo. • Description of DOMINICK GALLAGHER, native of Glann East, who stands charged with having, on the 25th December, 1887^ in the barony of Costello, parish of Kilbiagh, stabbed Patrick M'Gowan in the neck, from the effects of which h « died on 27th inst. :— Speaks with an English accent, was in America, very long drooped nose, flushed long hin face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inch- js high, about 42 years of age, has shaved off beard, whiskers, and moustache; wore* a low hat, dark coat, tweed or cord trowsers, and dark vest; is a f^ tner. • Swinford, Dec. 12, 1887. Delany), native of Deerpark, who stands charged with havifcg, on the 30th December, 1887, in the barony of Maryboro', parish of Clonenagh, stolen 3 heifers, the property of Thomas Fitzpatrick, and offered same for sale at Edenderry fair, on the 31st December, 1887, ( Cattle recovered):— Has a swaj^ ering gait, . gray ej ® s, regular nose, sallow complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age, light brown hair; wore an o]^ jerry hat, old brown coat, corduAy trowsers, and # wo vests; is sometimes employed sinking pumps. Description of PATRICK FOSTER, native of L ^ who stands charged with naving, on the 25th day of December, 1887, in the barony of Portnahinch, parish of Lea, unlawful carnal knowledge of a girl between the age of 13 and 16 years :— Wore gray side whiskers; gray or blue eyes, fegular nose, fresh complexion,^ hin face, active make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 60 years of age, gray hair; wore a brown coat, tweed trowsdft. and brown vest; is a labourer. # Maryboro', Jan. 1, 1888. Description of RICHARD UNTHANK, native of England, who stands charged with having, on the 14th day of November, 1887, in the barony of Lower Dungannon, parish of Aghaloo, at Caledon, embezzled the surift> f £ 450, the property of Earl of Caledon:— Downcast look; resembles a horse or cattle dealer, gray eyes, long nose, Dale sallow complexion, long face, mediumenake, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 55 years of age, gray hair; wore a low hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a land steward. A Warrant for his arrest is in the hands of the Constabulary at Caledon; £ 50 reward will be paid by Earl of Caledon for such information as will lead to his arrest. Aughnacloy, Nov. 19, 1881? Description of PETER FARRELLY, native of Loughan- town, and a MAN and WOMAN, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 2nd January, 1888, ( 12 mid- day), in the barony of Moygoish, parish of Russagh, assaulted Michael Daly, process server, and robbed him of six processes:— # 1. Very large mouth, wore a slight fair moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, oval face » stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; wore a hard black hat, coat, trowsers, and vest of gray tweed, much worn; is a farm labourer ® ^ 2. DUBLIN METROPOLITAN pOLICE, G ^ vision. • Particulars relative to GEORGE GREATRIX, English supervisee, convicted at Middlesex SeMions, on 6th Decem^ r. 1880, for larceny in dwelling- house and receiving after previous conviction, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude and 3 years police supervision :— 2G years of* age on conviction, single, is a photographer; born in Liverpool, resided befdfte conviction at Camden road, London, where his friends reside; brown hair, gray eyes, fresh complexi^ i, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, scars front of ribs, and right side of belly, mole on right collar scar below chest left side, his supervisee, on the 17th ult., reported to the Dublin Police that he » as going to Belfast, but he has not reported himselt at the latter place, and his present whereabouts is unknown. This man was rdeased on licence froff Maryboro Prison, tho 4th October, 1887, and went to Headford, county Galway. When " Proctor" left Ayr, had with him short gray tweed jacket; dark cloth vest; brown^ triped trousers, strap and pocket behind ; blue sailor's jerseyijand blue fatigue dress ; was in the 42nd Regiment, under name of James Paterson, deserted at Currie, Inland, 15th May, 1885? and lias not been apprehended.
