All Notices intended for insertion in the Hue- and- Ory are to be transmitted under cover, addressed to the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, authenticated, by a Separate Communication. No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession when making the arrest. Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, & c., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description of TWO PERSONS, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 5th August, 1887, in the barony of Lower Toome, parish of Kirkinriola, obtained a gold watch, chain, and diamond cut gold brooch and ear- rings, by false pretences, all value for £ 9 10s :— 1. Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 35 years of age, dark hair, dark moustache, beard, and whiskers; woro a black cloth coat, light tweed trowscrs, and black cloth vest; dressed as a clergy- man, with low soft black hat. Has been in America, and will likely endeavour to return there; apparently a clergyman. 2. Red birth mark on left side of neck, gray eyes, regular nose,, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 25 years of age, fair hair; wore a white straw hat trimmed with white lace, and cream coloured silk dress; wife of above. Bald on top of head, slightly round shoulders, smart appearance, wore all his beard clipped rather close, turning gray, gray moustache, dark blue eyes, cocked nose, pale complexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 60 years of age, gray hair ; wore a round hard black hat, rather long black coat, trowsers, and vest. 2. Scar on bridge of nose, bald on top of head smart appearance, dark side whiskers turning gray, clipped close, shaves his chin, dark moustache, dark eyes, hooked nose, fresh complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 50 years of age, dark hair turning gray; wore a brown soft hat ( American style), tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. 3. Lost some teeth from front of mouth, dark brown moustache, sullen looking, dark piercing eyes, sallow complexion, thin face, active make, 5 feet inches high, about 30 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a round black hat, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. 4. Round shoulders, rather short . neck, small fair moustache, gray eyes, thin nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair, wore a round black hard hat, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. 5. Small fair moustache, small gray eyes, slight nose, fair complexion, regular face, active make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a round black hard hat, brown tweed £ oat, trowsers, and vest. 6. Very small fair moustache, blue eyes, short cocked nose, fair complexion, round- fface, very stout make, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, about 25 years of age, fair hair; wore a round hard black hat, light coloured dust coat, striped tweed trowsers, and vest. Thick lips, repulsive appearance, large gray eyes, short thick nose, dark complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 7^ inches high, about 28 years of age, dark hair ; wore a gray frieze coat, dark frieze trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. 2. Gray eyes, regular nose, swarthy complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 22 years of age, brown hair; wore a tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Description of THOMAS O'NEILL, native of Drogheda, who stands charged with having, on the 14th August, 1887, in the barony of West Offaley, parish of Ballyshannon, stolen a quantity of wearing apparel:— Arms bronzed to above elbows, result of being fireman on board steamers, slight cast in one eye, square shoulders, wore moustache and slight side whiskers in front of ears, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, rather thin face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark hair; wore a jerry hat, white moleskin jacket, old gray tweed trowsers, no vest, and strong nailed boots; is a tramp labonrer ; may be employed as fireman. Description ol a MAN, name and native place un- known, who stands charged with having, on the 8th September, 1887, in the barony of Ratoath, parish of Dunshaughlin, attempted to unlawfully and carnally know Eliza Kavanagh, a girl under 13 years of age :— Walks with a slight stoop, brown whiskers, turning gray at jaws, shaves chin, but had a few days' growth of beard thereon ; florid oomplexion, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 50 years of age ; wore a gray tweed coat, trowsers, and plaid vest; appearance of a drover. Description of JOSEPH SCANLON ( Mother's surname Scully), native of Garroon, Queen's County, who stands chargcd with having, on the 29th day of August, 1887,, in the barony of Tinnahinch, parfih of Rosenallis, unlawfully and forcibly broken open and entered the dwelling- house of Bernard Molloy, of Garroon, between the hours of 5 and 7 p. m., and did steal, take, and carry away therefrom, one silver hunting lever watch, No. 31573, maker's name M Mosley, Waterford," on dial, value for £ 4:— 2 teeth out of front of m > uth, bald spot about size of a shilling on back of head near one ear; wears all his beard, which is dark brown, and thin ; gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age, brown hair ; wore a brown coat, trowsers, and vest; is a carpenter. Description of LAURENCE DWYER, native of Moandolieragh, who stands charged with having, on the 12th September, 1887, in the barony of Clan- william, parish of Donohill, seriously assaulted Thomas Breen by striking him on the head with an auger, thereby placing his life in danger :— Dark eyes, thick nose, fresh complexion, full face, ^ tout make, 5" feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 35 years of age, curly sandy hair, sandy moustache and Imperial; wore a soft black hat, which he wears low down on his eyes, black serge coat, brown tweed trowsers, and vest; is a carpenter. Description of JOHN GARVEY, native of Bansha, who stands charged with having, on the 15th of August, 1887, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Templeneiry, been one of a party who attacked the dwelling- house of Edward Mahony, at Grallagh:— Blue eyes, short nose, fresh complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 21 years of age ; wore an old black jerry hat, worn dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. FITT, native of Limerick, who stands charged with having, on the 13th day of September, 1887, in the barony of Muni- cipal Borough, parish of Trinity Within, absconded from the Waterford Branch of the Provincial Bank, feloniously taking with him a sum of £ 457 sterling, which he received in said Bank in his capacity as a Clerk in said branch :— Walks with a military appear- ance, very erectly, hollow in back, turns in his toes slightly when walking, rather small and well shaped feet, good looking, very pleasing countenance, remark- ably white teeth, shaves all face, wore a dark moustache; blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 35 years of age, dark hair; probably wore a black hard hat, brown tweed coat, trowsers and vest, dark top coat, generally wears a sack made coat; Cashier in Waterford Branch of Provincial Bank. Description of CATHERINE DARCY mother's surname Noblctt, native of Ballymaghroe, who stands charged with on or about the 20th August, 1887, in the barony of Ballinacor South, parish of Moyne, stolen the-- following articles from out of t. he dwelling- house of Rose Dalton :— One buff skirt, two girls buff jackets, one brown straw hat with aigret in front, one pair of woman's elastic boots ( nearly new), and the sum of 10s.:— Thick lips, large mouth, awk- ward gait; brown eyes, thick short nose, broad face, stout make, 4 feet 16 inches high, about 17 years of age, dark hair ; supposed to be wearing the stolen clothes; Is believed to have gone to her uncle, William Darcy, a tram- car driver, who resides at Clare Cottage, Beach or strand- road, Sandymount, Dublin. Particulars relative to Convict JOHN SMITH, A 747, convicted at Marybor^' Queen's County, at the Summer Assizes, on 9th July, 1883, for stea sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 66 age on conviction, single, carpenter, born at"" BS. Uy- jamesduff, county Cavan, resided before conviction in Dublin, his friends reside at Bride- street, Dublin; gray hair, blue eyes, gray eyebrows, regular nose, large mouth, fresh complexion, round visage, stoat make, 5 feet 3 inches high ; left little finger contracted, cut scars on face. This man was released on licence from Mountjoy Prison, on lst August, 1887, and went to reside in Dublin. He notified to the Metropolitan Police on the 24th ult. his intention of going to Carlow, but he has not reported himself at the latter place, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 97 h. C.) Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK MORRISSY, A 676, convicted at Ros- common Spring Assizes, on 14th March, 1883, for felony of a gun, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude :— 22 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer, born in Moylough, county Galway, resided before conviction at Moylough, where his friends reside; brown hair, blue] eyes, dark brown eyebrows, small nose, medium mouth, fresh complex- ion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 8J inches high. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison, on Licence the 3rd of June, 1887, and went to reside in Dublin. He left his lodgings, 123, Francis- street, without reporting to Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act 34 & 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 97 H. C.) Description of JOHN T. FLEMING, a rate collector, of 36, Heytesbury- street, and Putland- road, Bray, wanted for embezzlement:— He is about 34 or 35 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, very round shoulders, blind of one eye ( supposed the right), fair hair and complexion, slight sandy moustache, chin shaved ; generally dresses in tweed. Particulars relative to Convict THOMAS HAY- DEN, A 710, convicted at Dublin, at the Recorder's Court, on 31st March, 1883, lor larceny, and sentenced to 5 years'penal servitude;— 26 yearsf ofage on convic- tion, single, is a draper's assistant; born at Dublin, resided before conviction in Dublin, where his friends reside, Irishtown- road, Dublin; light brown hiar, hazel eyes, fair eyebrows, small nose, small mouth, fair complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 5 j inches high ; cut scar left side of face, lost two upper front teeth. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 2nd April, 1887, and went to reside at Irish- town- road. He has recently left his residence without reporting to Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. Particulars relative to Convict JAMES MURPHY alias LAWLOR, who is missing from Maryborough Prison, where he was last seen about 5 o'clock, p. m., on the 16th August, 1887; convicted at Recorder's Court, borough of Belfast, on 26th September, 1882, for larceny, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude; is also liable to serve 304 days of a former sentence :— 26 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Roman catholic, married, is a carpenter, prison trade carpenter, resided before conviction at Belfast, where his friends reside; brown hair, gray eyes, brown eyebrows, large nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high; cut scar on top of head; cut mark on little finger left hand; mark on left leg, and two on breast; cut mark on second toe, left foot. About 30 years of age, about 5ft. 7 or 8 inches high, very stout, corpulant, full round face, clear ruddy complexion, very light brown hair— cut short, light brown rnoustacho, no whiskers, and blue eyes, nice appearance, and had a rather rollicking walk. Dressed in navy blue ribbed cloth suit, and black bowler bat, new elastic side boots of small size. Wore a very large mourning ring with cameo stone with raised figure on it, stone of ring large— almost covering the third joint of fourth finger left hand. Is an Italian, but has the appearance of a Norweigan or German, and appeared not to be able to speak English. Ten Pounds reward will be given on apprehension and conviction of the above men. All spoke with slight foreign accent ( thinks German) ; and one of them carried a small leather bag. While three of the men kept the bank teller and clerk in conversation, at front of the counter, the fourth man went round behind the teller, into his box, and lifted the bundle of notes— the door of the box being left open. The persons after described were convicted before the Sheriff Court, Perth, on 11th August, 1887, on a charge of killing grouse out of season, and were each sentenced to pay a fine of £ 33 within ten days, or suffer 88 days imprisonment. As none of the parties have paid their fines, a SherrifPs Warrant has now been issued for their apprehension :— 1. JOHN FARQUHARSON, labourer, gunsmith, or poacher, aged 49 years, looks older, 5 feet 9 inches in height, native of Glenisla, Forfarshire, gray hair and moustache ( almost white), shaved on cheeks, but may allow his beard to grow, fresh complexion and stout make. A famous Blairgowrie Volunteer Rifle shot, and notorious grouse poacher, well known in East Perthshire and Forfarshire. 2. ROBERT JOHN STEWART, labourer or gamekeeper, aged 28 years, 5 feet 9 inches in height, slender make, fresh complexion, brown hair, fair moustache and small side whiskers, born at Penrith, Cumberland, but brought up in Glenshee, Perthshire ; up till recently was employed as a Gamekeeper in Essex, where he spent the past three or four years. 3. ALEXANDER MACDONALD BEATON, a mason, 26 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches in height, ordinary make, dark hair and moustache, swarthy complexion, a native of Strathardle, Perthshire, but has spent a good part of his time in Dundee. The police are requested to search for and apprehend the accused, or any of them, and, failing payment of the fines or fine, convey direct to Perth, or wire to the subscriber, who will immediately send for them.
