Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gool% Stations, & c., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- ancl- Cry " no longer necessary. Description of TWO PERSONS, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 5th August, 1887, in the barony of lower Toome, parish ol Kirkinriola, obtained a gold watch, chain, and diamond cut gold brooch and ear- rings, by false pretences, all value for £ 9 10s:— 1. Gray oyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 35 years of age, dark hair, dark moustache, beard, and whiskers; wore a black cloth coat, light tweed trowsers, and black cloth vest; dressed as a clergy- man, with low soft black hat. Has been in America, and will likely endeavour to return there ; apparently a clergyman. 2. Red birth mark on left side of neck, gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 foet 4 incties high, about 25 years of age, fair hair; wore a white straw hat trimmed with white lace, and cream coloured silk dress; wife of above. Description ot JAMES WALLS, native of Randalstown, who stands charged with having, on the 5th of August, 1* 87, in the barony of Upper Belfast, parish ot Donegore, attempted to commit a rape on one Roseanna M'Millen, of Donegore:— Round shoulders, < iMi eyes, aquiline nose, dark complexion, slight ( nuke, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 35 years of age, dark hair; wore a low hard hat, gray coat, dark trowsers, patches on knees ; is a labourer. The Royal Irish Constabulary at Templepatrick hold a Warrant for his arrest. Antrim, August 6, 1887. ( S3005 c.— 42222.) Description of JAMES CLEMENTS, mother's surname M'CONNELL, native of Larne, who stands charged with having, on or about 21st June, 1887, in the barony of Upper Glenarm, parish of Larne, unlaw- fully and carnally known Hessie Allen, a girl under the age of thirteen years:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 23 years of age, dark hair ; wore a guernsey coat, gray striped trowsers and vest; is a sailor. Description of PATRICK ROONEY, native place not known, WILLIAM HENRY DEACON, native of Glasgow, JOHN M'DONNELL, WILLIAM LEE, EDWARD BARRY, native places not known, and JOHN JAMESON, native of Dublin, who stand charged with having, on the 30th July, 1887, in the barony of Islands, parish of Drumcliffe, stolen the sum of twenty sovereigns, from the house of John M'Gann 0f Market- street, Ennis:— 1. Bald on top of head, slightly round shoulders, smart appearance, wore all his beard clipped rather close, turning gray, gray moustache, dark blue eyes, cocked nose, pale complexion, regular face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 60 years of age, gray hair ; wore a round hard black hat, rather long black coat, trowsers, and vest. 2. Scar on bridge of nose, bald on top of head smart appearance, dark side whiskers turning gray, clipped close, shaves his chin, dark moustache, dark eyes, hooked nose, fresh complexion, thin face; medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 50 years of age, dark hair turning gray; wore a brown soft hat ( American style), tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. 3. Lost some teeth from front of mouth, dark brown moustache, sullen looking, dark piercing eyes, sallow complexion, thin face, active make, 5 feet 7^ inches high, about 30 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a round black hat, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. 4. Round shoulders, rather short neck, small fair moustache, gray eyes, thin nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair, wore a round black hard hat, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. 5. Small fair moustache, small gray eyes, slight nose, fair complexion, regular face, active make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a round black hard hat, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. 6. Very small fair moustache, blue eyes, short cocked nose, fair complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 1 or 5 inches high, about 25 years of age, fair hair ; wore a round hard black hat, light coloured dust coat, striped tweed trowsers, and vest. These six men returned for trial on 5th August. Any information regarding thom, including previous convictions, to be addressed to District Inspector at Ennis. Cork. Description of EDWARD SINNOTT, native of Fermoy, but at present no fixed place of residence, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of June, 1886, in the barony of Fermoy, parish of Mallow, deserted his four children, who have since been ehargeable to the rates of the Mallow Union:— Dark eyes, ( right eye defective— sometimes wears a shade over it), regular nose, sandy complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a black Ulster coat, tweed trowsers, and black vest, side whiskers, round stooped shoulders, worn looking appearance; attends fairs and acts as what is known as a blocker. A war- rant is in the hands of the Royal Irish Constabulary at Mallow, and the Guardians of the Union have guaran- teed the expenses of his arrest. Mallow, August' 26, 1887. ( 83439 c.— 42884.) Description of THOMAS O'NEILL, native of Drogheda, who stands charged with having, on the 14th August, 1887, in the barony of West Offaley, parish of Ballyshannon, stolen a quantity of wearing apparel:— Arms bronzed to above elbows, result of being fireman on board steamers, slight cast in one eye, square shoulders, wore moustache and slight side whiskers in front of ears, dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, rather thin face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 26 years of age, dark hair; wore a jerry hat, white moleskin jacket, old gray tweed trowsers, no vest, and strong nailed boots; is a tramp labourer ; may be employed as fireman. Description of ROBERT WALSHE ( mother's surname Meade), native of Waterford city, who stands charged with having, on the 18th March, 1886, in the barony of Brawney, parish of Saint Mary's, deserted his wife and four children, which have since been chargeable to the rates of the Tullamore Union :— Pock pitted, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 5^ inches high, about 40 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; journeyman harness maker. Description of JAMES M'KIERNAN ( mother's surname Donegan), native of Drumhalla, who stands charged with having, on the 19th August, 1887, in the barony of Mohill, parish of Cloone, attempted to oommit rape on the person of Rose Doyle:— Slight whiskers under ears, gray eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore a soft black hat, black cloth coat, black cord trowsers, black cloth vest; is a f armer's son. Description of PATRICK M'GUIGGAN ( mother's surname M'Glade), native of Cloane, who stands charged with having, on the 17th August, 1887, in the barony of Kennaught, parish of Banagher, seriously assaulted Peter Rogers, by striking him on the head with a loaded butt, thereby placing his life in danger :— Coarse dogged appearance, no beard or whiskers, fair moustache, gray eyes, thick nose, sallow complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 27 years of age, dark hair ; wore a black soft hat, blue cloth frock coat, and light tweed trowsers ; is a farm labourer. ( 83431 c.— 42889.) \ Description of ATTY DONAGHY ( mother's surname Kidd), native of Belfast, who stands charged with having, on the 25th day of March, 1887, in the barony of N. W. Liberties, parish of Templemore, stolen a sweeping machine, the property of George Hasson:— Hole on right cheek, anchor, heart, chain and some letters tattooed on both arms, dark eyes, short nose, dark complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 30 or 35 years of age, brown hair, small brown moustache; wore a black silk cap, no coat, dark trowsors, moleskin vest; is a tramp sweep. It is thought that he is tramping through the adjoining counties. Londonderry, August 6, 1887. ( 83003 42218.) Description of PATRICK CASSIDY, native of Moyheeland, who stands charged with having, on the 5th day of August, 1887, in the barony of Loughin- shollen, parish of Ballinascreen, seriously stabbed one Peter M'Gurk with a knife, thereby endangering his life:— Large ears, red lips, large hooked nose, fresh complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a soft hat, gray coat, and white trowsers ; is a labourer. Description of DANIEL CASEY, native of Augh- akerin, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 24th July, 1887, in the barony of Moydow, parish of Killashee, seriously assaulted Robert Neary, of Aughnaskea, by striking him on the head with a loaded whip ;— Walks with a slight stoop, and generally carries his hands in his trowsers' pockets ; gray or blue eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 10^ inches high, about 22 or 23 years of age; wore a soft black hat and gray tweed suit; is a metal caster or tinker. Description of PATRICK DURKAN, ( mother's surname Fansey), native of Knockfadda, who stands charged with having, on or about the 31st day of July, 1887. at Knockfadda, in the barony of Gallen, parish of Killasser, seriously assaulted James Fansey, by kicking him in the abdomen, whereby his life is now in imminent danger:— Dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet high, about 20 years of age, dark hair ; wore a dark tweed cont, corduroy trowsers, and dark tweed vest; is a labourer. Description of MARY M'GORMAN, alias BRIDGET M'CANN, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 24th July, 1887, in the barony of Monaghan, parish of Monaghan, stolen the following articles, the property of Catherine Flynn :— One red petticoat, one black cashmere quilted petticoat, one black stuff cape, trimmed with lace, one green plaid shawl, one black stuff umbrella :— Impedi- ment in speech, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 20 years of age, dark hair ; wore a white hat, trimmed with cream- coloured lace, with a red flower in front, elastic boots, supposed to be wearing the stolen articles above described; is supposed to be a tramp. Description of JOHN GARVEY, native of Bansha, who stands charged with having, on the 15th of August, 1887, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Templeneiry, been one of a party who attacked the dwelling- house of Edward Mahony, at Grallagh:— Blue eyes, short nose, fresh complexion, round face, very stout make, 5 feet 5 inches high, about 21 years of age ; wore an old black jerry hat, worn dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Description of CATHERINE DARCY mother's surname Noblett, native of Ballymaghroe, who stands charged with having, on or about the 20th August, 1887, in the barony of Ballinacor South, parish of Moyne, stolen the following articles from out of the dwelling- house of Rose Dalton :— One buff skirt, two girls buff jackets, one brown straw hat with aigret in front, one pair of woman's elastic boots ( nearly new), and the sum of 10s.:— Thick lips, large mouth, awk- ward gait; brown eyes, thick short nose, broad face, stout make, 4 feet 10 inches high, about 17 years of age, dark hair ; supposed to be wearing the stolen clothes; Is believed to have gone to her uncle, William Darcy, a tram- car driver, who resides at Clare Cottage, Beach or strand- road, Sandyjnount, Dublin. Warrant in hands of Dublin Metropolitan Police. Timohely, August, 25, 1887. ( 83344 c. 42893.) DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE, G Division. Description of JOHN T. FLEMING, a rate collector, of 36, Heytesbury- straet, and Putland road, Bray, wanted for embezzlement:— He is about 34 or 35 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, very round shoulders, blind of one eye ( supposed the right), fair hair and complexion, slight sandy moustache, chin shaved ; generally dresses in tweed. Information to Superintendent WILLIAM REDDY, Detective Department, Dublin, who holds a Warrant for his arrest. Superintendent's Office, G Division, 22nd August, 1887- Particulars relative to Convict THOMAS HAY- DEN, A 710, convicted at Dublin, at the Recorder's Court, on 31st March, 1883, for larceny, and sentenced to 5 years'penal servitude:— 26 years of age on convic- tion, single, is a draper's assistant; born at Dublin, resided before conviction in Dublin, where his friends reside, Irishtown- road, Dublin; light brown hair, hazel eyes, fair eyebrows, small nose, small mouth, fair complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 5£ inches high ; cut scar left side of face, lost two upper front teeth. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 2nd April, 1887, and went to reside at Irish- town- road. He has recently left his residence without reporting to Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th sec. of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 91 H. C.) Particulars relative to Convict JAMES MURPHY alias LAWLOR, who is missing from Maryborough Prison, where he was last seen about 5 o'clock, p. m., on the 16th August, 1887; convicted at Recorder's Court, borough of Belfast, on 26th September, 1882, for larceny, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude ; is also liable to serve 304 days of a former sentence :— 26 years of age on conviction, can read and write, is a Roman catholic, married, is a carpenter, prison trade carpenter, resided before conviction at Belfast, where his friends reside; brown hair, gray eyes, brown eyebrows, large nose, regular mouth, fresh complexion, oval visage, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high; cut scar on top of head; cut mark on little finger left hand; mark on left leg, and two on breast; cut mark on second toe, left foot. NOTICE— A money reward not exceeding £ 5 may be paid to any person who may apprehend and deliver up a convict who shall have effected his escape from a Government prison. Application to be made to the General Prisons Board, Dublin Castle. By Act 19th and 20th Vic., cap. 68, sec. 32, it is provided that any person who shall by any means whatever aid and assist any prisoner to escape, or in attempting to escape, shall be guilty of felony, and being convicted thereof, shall be kept in penal servitude for any term not less than 6 nor more than 8 years. ( 90 H. c.) Particulars relative to Convict JOHN BURNS, convicted at Downpatrick, county Down Assizes, 17th March, 1883, for uttering base opin, and previous conviction for like offence, and sentenced to 5 years penal servitude:— 63 years of age on conviction; read; Roman Catholic ; widower; is a labourer; born in Ballybay, county Monaghan; resided before convic- tion in Newry, his friends reside in Newry; gray hair, brown" eyes, dark brown eyebrows, small nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, worn visage, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high ; ruptured on right side. This man was released on licence from Maryboro* Prison, 20th February, 1887, and went to reside at lodgings in Maryboro', which place he left without notifying same to the R. I. Constabulary, and his present whereabouts are unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 5th section of the Act 34 and 35 Vic., cap. 112. ( 83 h. c.) Convict JAMES MILLIGAN, A 689, not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 29th July, 1887. ( 80 H. C.) ENGLISH POLICE. Cumberland. £ 1 REWARD. Wanted here, charged with deserting his wife and family, on the 11th July 1887, and leaving them chargeable to the Cockermouth Union, WILLIAM HODGSON, alias « FORTY POCKETS," labourer, 32 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, light brown hair, slight light moustache, gray eyes, long thin face, a native ol Cockermouth; dressed in fustian trowsers and jacket, cord vest, black felt hat, and clogs. May be found at common lodging- houses, and likely to be employed at stables, or carrying parcels for travellers. This man may be accompanied by a woman, named Elizabeth Welsh, about 35 years of age, short and stout, pock- pitted, and has 4 children with her. Kindly make every possible search and enquiry for Hodgson, if found arrest and communicate with Mr. • Superintendent TAYLOR, Cockermouth, Cumberland, who holds a Warrant for his apprehension. County Police Office, Cockermouth, July 30, 1887. ( 86 H. C.) £ 10 REWARD. Stolen, between 1 and 6 a. m., on the 10th inst., from the person ot Dr. Redmondi, while asleep in the cabin of the s. s. Silloth, lying in Silloth Dock, viz :— A gold chased hunting watch, No. 21026, Dent's Chronometer" on dial, and " Makers to the Queen " on works ; a 9- carat gold Albert, round link pattern; one 20- dollar piece, one 50- franc piece, and one old guinea, all gold; value £ 40. By the two men described below :— 1. THOMAS PEARCE, alias TOMMY THE GUESSER, licence holder No. , f4a, 35 years of age; 5 feet 8 inches high, fresh complexion; light hazel eyes, fair hair ; is a racing sharp, hotel thief, and member of the ramping mob. Native of Shrews- bury. Particular Marks Scar front of head, blue scar right side of forehead and bridge of nose. Right Side.— Lost top part of fourth finger, scar dais of third finger. Left Side.— Catarrah of left^ e. 2. WILLIAM DAVIS, alias GENTLEMAN DAVIS, 29 years of age; 5ft 10 indhes high; fair complexion, gray eyes, dark brown hair; is a clerk and betting man ; native of Birmingham. Particular Marks.— Scar centre top of forehead, small scar corner of left eye ; scar nearly centre of left cheek. Both of respectable appearance, betting men, frequent race courses, billiard rooms, and bowling greens. Not to be apprehended unless the property can be traced to their possession. Wigton, Cumberland, 23rd July, 1887. ( 79 H. C.) Hanley. Wanted on Warrant, charged with forging and utter- ing a cheque for £ 30, ALFRED HALL, a native of 8toke- on- Trent, and late of 26, Granville- street, Stoke- on- Trent, by trade a' baker, and is well known among bakers in the Potteries:— About 33 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, pale complexion, light brown hair, thin light whiskers and moustache, or may now be shaved, rather round shouldered, thumb of right hand much larger than the other, owing to its having been knocked up and split up the centre through the nail. He was last seen in Hanley on Tuesday, the 5th instant, when he was wearing a black hard hat, light tweed jacket and vest, white collar and front, no neck- tie, light cord trowsers, and lace- up boots. It is suspected that he has left or will endeavour to leave the country. Kindly cause every possible enquiry to be made at shipping- offices, hotels, and all likely places, and if foond arrest and wire to HERBERT WINDIE, Chief Constable's Office, Chief Constable. Description of GEORGE HENRY MILNES, alias MARGETSON, whose apprehension is sought for mutilation of books and embezzlement:— 50 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, stout, complexion very fresh, light brown hair, light side whiskers ( very slight) and moustache ( cut short), prominent eyes, draws his mouth slightly on one side when talking, gentle- manly appearance; dress ( supposed), dark plaid suit, light steel gray overcoat, round felt hat. Native of Florence. Speaks fairly good English. 2nd. About 30 years of age, about 5ft. 7 or 8 inches high, very stout, corpulant, full round face, clear ruddy complexion, very light brown hair— cut short, light brown moustache, no whiskers, and blue eyes, nice appearance, and had a rather rollicking walk. Dressed in navy blue ribbed cloth suit, and black bowler hat, new elastic side boots of Small size. Wore a very large mourning ring with cameo stone wfth raised figure on it, stone of ring large— almost covering the third joint of fourth finger left hand. Is an Italian, but has the appearance of a Norweigan or German, and appeared not to^ be able tp speak English. Toij^- ounds reward will be given on apprehension and conviction of the above men. He left Kendal on the 15th July, 1887, and stated that it was his intention of removing to Manchester, but he has failed to report his arrival there. . While three of the men kept the bank teller and clerk in conversation, at front of the counter, the fourth man went round behind the teller, into his box, and lifted the bundle of notes— the door of the box being left open.
