No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. All Descriptions of jiersons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a ' Warrant has been issued, and by tho name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of this nature unless they have the Warrant in their possession. *•* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Description of JAMES CLEMENTS, mother's surname M'CONNELL, native of Larne, who stands charged with having, on or about 21st June, 1887, in the barony of Upper Glenarm, parish of Larne, unlaw- fully and carnally known Hessie Allen, a girl under the age of thirteen years:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 23 years of age, dark hair ; wore a guernsey coat, gray striped trowsers and vest; is a sailor. Description of CHARLES CAMPBELL, alias CHARLES MALLON, alias THOMAS BOYLE, native of Creenagh, near Coalisland, county Tyrone, who stands charged with having, on the 21st July, 1887, in tho barony of Oneiland West, parish of Killy- man, committed a burglary, and had in his possession a horse and trap, supposed to be stolen, which he abandoned on the public road :— Long cut in hair over forehead, black eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, 5 feet 5 J inches high, about 50 years of age, dark gray hair ; is a labourer and habitual criminal, is supposed to be the Convict described at page 16 of " Register of Habitual Criminals" of 1st January, 1885. Description of horse and trap :— A gray mare nearly white, blind of right eye, in poor condition ; value for about £ 2. The trap is newly painted blue with red ^ wheels, right step broken. Description of JAMES MURRAY ( supposed fictitious), native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 5th July, 1887, in the barony of Clonkee, parish of Enniskeen, four head of young cattle in his possession, which he was trying to sell at Kingscourt Fair, supposed to be stolen :— Birth mark behind left ear, cupped on back of neck: gray eyes, long nose, sallow complexion, long thin face, slender make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, short dark hair, large heavy dark moustache, face shaved; wore a gray serge coat, brown trowsers, and vest. Description of MICHAEL BROWN, native of Knockduff Upper, who stands charged with having, on the 9th April, 1887, at Curragh, in the barony of Duhallow, parish of Clonfert, with others committed or attempted to commit a rape upon Ellen Roche, and being required to give bail for his appearance at next Cork Assizes, failed to do so and has absconded:— Dark eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, oval face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair; wore a soft black hat, frieze coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer. Description of WILLIAM BECK ( mother's surname Greenway,") native of Coolnacran, county Down, who stands charged with having, on the 21st June, 1887, at Coolnacran, in the barony of Upper Iveagh, parish of Aghaderg, in the county of Down, indecently assaulted Mary Hall, a child under 15 years of age :— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark coat, gray tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a weaver. Description of MARGARET SALSBURY, native of Enniskillen, who stands charged with having, on the 1st day of June, 1887, in the barony of Lower Iveagh, Upper Half, parish of Hillsboro', and townland of Ballykeelartifiney, abandoned and exposed her male child, about one month old, whereby the life of said child was endangered :— Sore eyes, short nose, fresh com plexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet high, abont 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a white straw hat, trimmed with black velvet, red plaid shawl, a pair of new elastic boots; was accompanied by a boy, about 1 year and 9 months old. Description of TWO MEN names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 4th day of July, 1887, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Kilgobbin, stolen a cow ( since recovered) from off the lands of Judge Darly, Newtown Little, the property of William Webster, Fernhill, Kilgobbin :— 1. Sore or reddish eyes, sandy complexion, medium make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 25 years of age, wore a jerry hat, dark old gray tweed coat; corner boy appearance. 2. Galway, Description of MARTIN MESKILL ( mother's surname Kate Martin), native of Kilcreest, who stands charged with having, on the 28th day of July, 1887, in the barony of Kilconnell, parish of Ahascragh, been found in the possession of a gold watch, chain, and locket, knowing same to have been stolen:— Gray eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair ; wore an old brown hard hat, old gray coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a tramp. Accused is in custody and remanded to 6thprox., and is believed to have committed crimes elsewhere. Description of the articles found in his possession :— A lady's gold geneva watch, No. 44,820, dial flowered in centre, the letters C. B. engraved on back of case, photograph of young lady pasted on inside of case ; a lady's gold chain folded to Albert length, small gold locket attached, containing a portion of dark hair tied with pink thread; all value for about £ 5. Description of MICHAEL HOGAN, native of Ballinphonta, county Clare, and BARTHOLOMEW LAWLOR, native of Kilbaha, county Kerry, who stand charged with having, on the 14th March, 1887, at Killea, barony of Lower Connelloe, parish of Croagh, county Limerick, and in the barony of Lower Kilnamanagh, parish of Donohill, embezzled several sums of money amounting to £ 20 ( twenty pounds), the property of their master, John Cohoon, Tea Mer- chant, at Rathkeale :— 1. Stout square make, gray eyes, thick nose, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 23 years of age ; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a car driver, delivering tea, but looks like a shop assistant. 2. Down looking, sunken gray eyes, prominent nose, brown complexion, sharp face, slight active make, 6 feet high, about 20 years ot age ; wore a gray tweed coat, tweed Wowsers and vest; is a car driver, delivering tea. Description of JOHN MAHON, native of Kila- dangan, who stands charged with having, on the 18th February, 1887, in the barony of Costello, parish of Kilcolman, murdered one Edward Luby:— Large forehead, dark heavy eyebrows, sunken gray or blue eyes, short nose sunk between eyes, pale complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a soft cap, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. P., Mount Hanover:— Speaks with an American accent, and carried a large whip; sunburnt complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown hair ; wore a brown tweed tag coat, dark trowsers and vest; is apparently a farmer or respectable dealer. Description of MARY M'GORMAN, alias BRIDGET M'CANN, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 24th July, 1887, in the barony of Monaghan, parish of Monaghan, stolen the following articles, the property of Catherine Flynn :— One red petticoat, one black cashmere quilted petticoat, one black stuff cape, trimmed with lace, one green plaid shawl, one black stuff umbrella :— Impedi- ment in speech, regular nose, dark complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 20 years of age, dark hair ; wore a white hat, trimmed with cream- coloured lace, with a reel flower in front, elastic boots, supposed to be wearing the stolen articles above described; is supposed to be a tramp. Description of two itinerant tinkers named M'DONAGH, native places unknown, who stand charged with having on the 5th July, 1887, in the barony of Leyney, parish of Ballisodare, stolen a pair of car wheels the property of Daniel M'Gloin :— 1. Flat, nose, swarthy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 70 years of age, gray hair ; wore knee trowsers, and long gray stockings. 2. Description of LAWRENCE CARLEY, native of Ranaghan, who stands charged with having, on the 26th May, 1887, in the barony of Demifore, parish of Saint Fechins, fired a revolver shot at Widow Jane Heffernan, in her dwelling- house at Ranaghan, on 26th May, 1887, wounding her in the head:— Large wide mouth, thick lips, restless manner, aggressive expression, blue eyes, cocked nose, sallow complexion, short face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark hair turning gray, wears iron gray side whiskers ( no beard or moustache), is inclined to drink hard; wore a hard round felt hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; long silver chain round neck fastened to watch ; is a farmer and cattle jobber. Particulars relative to Convict JOHN BURNS, convicted at Downpatrick, county Down Assizes, 17th March, 1883, for uttering base coin, and previous conviction for like offence, and sentenced to 5 years penal servitude:— 63 years of age on conviction; read; Roman Catholic ; widower; is a labourer; born in Ballybay, county Monaghan; resided before convic- tion in Newry, his friends reside in Newry; gray hair, brown eyes, dark brown eyebrows, small nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, worn visage, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high; ruptured on right side. This man was released on licence from Maryboro' Prison, 20th February, 1887, and went to reside at lodgings in Maryboro', which place he left without notifying same to the R. I. Constabulary, and his present whereabouts are unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under 5th section of the Act 34 and 35 Yic., cap. 112. ( 83 H. c.) Particulars relative to Convict JAMES MILLIGAN, A 689, convicted at Belfast, county Antrim, at Belfast Assizes for county Antrim, on 20th March, 1883, for larceny after previous conviction, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude :— 44 years of age on conviction, he can read and write; is a protestant, single, tailor, born at Armagh, resided before conviction at Belfast, where hi* friends reside; brown hair, gray eyes, sandy eyebrows, small nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high ; left eye blind. This man was released on licence from Maryboro' Prison, on 23rd February, 1887, and went to reside at 8, Cumberland - street, Blackrock, county Cork, which place he has left without notifying to the Royal Irish Constabulary, and his present whereabouts is unknown. Description of TWO MEN, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the morning of 7th instant, about 2 A. M., in the barony of Galway, parish of Urlingford, burglariously broken into the shop and dwellinghouse of Patrick Holohan, and stolen therefrom several remnants of tweed cloth and 6 skirts of women's dark brown cashmere dresses, all value for about £ 2 :— 1. Stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 35 years of age ; wore a soft felt hat, dark brown coat; supposed to be a tramp. 2. Slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high; wore a soft felt hat, brown coat; supposed to be a tramp. The remnants of tweed were of different colours, were each about a yard long, and can be identified. Description of RICHARD POE, native of Callan, who stands charged with having, on the 21 st January, 1883, and 24th August, 1884, in the barony of Callan, parish of Callan, forged two promissory notes, on the Bank of Ireland, for £ 30 and £ 45, respectively:— Blind of left eye, generally wears a green patch over it, square build, walks with a rather swaggering gait, gentlemanly appearance, shaves all his face, may wear spectacles; blue or gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 45 years of age, fair hair; wore a black jerry hat, gray tweed coat, trowsgrs, and vest; agent of the Bank of Ireland. Description of HENRY FLEMING, native of Drumnacannon, who stands charged with having, on the 30th day of May, 1887, in the barony of Lough- inshollin, parish of Tamlaght O'Crilly, seriously assaulted one James Doherty, and having been bailed to appear, and take his trial at Londonderry Assizes on 20th instant, failed to do so:— Round shoulders, bald on top of head, wants some front teeth ; gray eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 50 or 55 years of age, dark hair turning gray, which he wears long; wore a hard round hat, much worn, dark coat, trowsers, and vest, and top coat; shaves all his face, except a small rim round throat; is a farmer. Liberties of Londonderry, parish of Templemore, burglariously broke out of a lodging house, taking with him a suit of gray tweed and a shirt, all value £ 1 10s. the coat, frock make with flaps on sides but no pockets:— Tattoo mirks of a ring, each on two fingers, and tattooing on arms, lame from a blister on the heel; dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair and moustache, no whiskers; wore a peaked cap with tassel, gray tweed frock coat, trowsers, and vest,' small laced shoes; believed to be wearing the stolen clothes which are too big for him, is a tramp ; believed to be a discharged soldier. Wanted here, charged with deserting his wife and family, on the 11th July 1887, and leaving them chargeable to the Cockermouth Union, WILLIAM HODGSON, alias " FORTY POCKETS," labourer, 32 years of age, 5 feet 3 or 4 inches high, light brown hair, slight light moustache, gray eye3, long thin face, a native of Cockermouth; dressed in fustian trowsers and jacket, cord vest, black felt hat, and clogs. May be found at common lodging- houses, and likely to be employed at stables, or carrying parcels for travellers. This man may be accompanied by a woman, named Elizabeth Welsh, about 35 years of age, short and stout, pock- pitted, and has 4 children with her. Kindly make every possible search and enquiry for Hodgson, if found arrest and communicate with Mr. Superintendent TAYLOR, Cockermouth, Cumberland, who holds a Warrant for his apprehension. Silloth, lying in Silloth Dock, viz;— A gold chased hunting watch, No. 2102ft, " Dent's Chronometer" on dial, and " Makers to the Queen " on works ; a 9- carat gold Albert, round link pattern ; one 20- dollar piece, one 50- franc piece, and one old guinea, all gold ; value £ 40. Accused absconded immediately after obtaining the money before mentioned, and will probably be found spending the money freely in hotels and other likely place, or may endeavour to emigrate. The above reward will be paid by the Bank of Scotland to any person ( other than a Police Officer) giving such information as will lead to the arrest of the accused, and the recovery of the money obtained or in proportion to the amount recovered. Description of a watch and chain, the property of Michael Weir, which were lost or stolen from his person in the Military- barrack, Portumna, parish of Lickmolossy, barony of Longford, on the evening of the 18th day of July, 1887, viz. :— A gold hunting lever watch, gold dial and enamelled case, with figures of dial appearing also outside on case, which was 18 carat fine hall- marked; maker's name " Cooke Bros., London," " No. 13141," marked inside on back of case. The chain was of rather an intricate pattern, specially manufactured from the pure gold in Hong- Kong, frosted and carved bar, with a guinea and locket attached. The guinea was of the spade pattern of the reign of George III., and the locket ( gold) bore on the outside the letters " From J. W. to M.
