Description of JAMES CLEMENTS, mother's surname M'CONNELL, native of Larne, who stands charged with having, on or about 21st June, 1887, in the barony of Upper Glenarm, parish of Larne, unlaw- fully and carnally known Hessie Allen, a girl under the age of thirteen years:— Blue eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 23 years ofage, dark hair ; wore a guernsey coat, gray striped trowsers and vest; is a sailor. Description of CHARLES CAMPBELL, alias CHARLES MALLON, alias THOMAS BOYLE, native of Creenagh, near Coalisland, county Tyrone, who stands charged with having, on the 21st July, 1887, in tho barony of Oneiland West, parish of Killy- man, committed a burglary, and had in his possession a horse ana trap, supposed to be stolen, which he abandoned on the public road:— Long cut in hair over forehead, black eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, 5 feet 5 j inches high, about 50 years of age, dark gray bair ; is a labourer and habitual criminal, is supposed be the Conviot described at page 16 of " Register Habitual Criminals " of lst January, 1885. Description of horse and trap :— A gray mare nearly ite, blind of right eye, in poor condition ; value for Sbout £ 2. The trap is newly painted blue with red wheels, right step broken. Description of JAMES MURRAY ( supposed fictitious), native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 5th July, 1887, in the barony of Clonkee, parish of enniskeen, four head of young cattle in his possession, which he was trying to sell at Kingscourt Fair, supposed to be stolen :— Birth mark behind left ear, cupped on back of neck : gray eyes, long nose, sallow complexion, long thin face, slender make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, short dark hair, large heavy dark moustache, face shaved, wore a gray serge coat, brown trowsers, and vest. I • Description of MICHAEL BROWN, native of Knockduff Upper, who stands charged with having, on the 9th April, 1887, at Curragh, in the bartfny of Duballow, parish of Clonfert, with others committed or attempted to commit a rape upon Ellen Roche, and being required to give bail for bis appearance at next Cork Assizes, failed to do so and has absconded:— Dark eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, oval face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair; wore a soft black hat, frieze coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer. Description of WILLIAM BECK ( mother's surname Greenway,") native of Coolnacran, county Down, who stands charged with having, on the 21st June, 1887, at Coolnacran, in the barony of Upper Iveagh, parish of Aghaderg. in the county of Down, indecently assaulted Mary Hall, a child under 15 years of age :— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high,^ bout 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark coat, gray tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a weaver. Warrant in the hands of the Banbridge Constabulary. Banbridge, July 4, 1887. ( 82410 c— 41298.) Description of MARGARET SALSBURY, native of Enniskillen, who stands charged with having, on the jst day of June, 1887, in the barony of Lower Iveagh, Upper Half, parish of Hillsboro', and townland of Ballykeelartifiney, abandoned and exposed her male child, about one month ol 1, whereby the life of said child was endangered:— Sore eyes, short nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a white straw hat, trimmed with black velvet, red plaid shawl, a pair of new elastic boots; was accompanied by a boy, about 1 year and 9 months old. A warrant is in the hands of the District Inspector, Royal Irish Constabulary, at Banbridge, for her arrest. . Banbridge, June 7, 1887. ( 81944 c— 40597.) Dublin. Description of TWO MEN names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 4th day of July, 1887, in the barony of Rathdown, parish of Kilgobbin, stolen a cow ( since recovered) from off the lands of Judge Darly, Newtown Little, the property of William Webster, Fernhill, Kilgobbin :— 1. Sore or reddish eyes, sandy complexion, medium make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 25 years of age, wore a jerry hat, dark old gray tweed coat; corner boy appearance. 2. Appeared to have weak eyes, 5 feet 1 or 2 inches high, about 20 years of age, slight sandy moustache ; wore a jerry hat, dark clothes. Dundrum, July 12, 1887. ( 82460 c— 41364.) Description of A MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the night of 27th or morning of 28th April, 1887, in the barony of Coolock, parish of Malahide, stolen 17 wether sheep ( which have been recovered), value £ 60. the property of one Michael Cahill:— Gray eyes, regular nose, sunburnt complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 5 or 6 inches high, about 40 years of age dark brown hair, and slight side whiskers; wore a brown tweed coat, dark trowsers, brown tweed vest, watch and chain ( apparently brass); had the appear- ance of a land steward. Galway, Description of MARTIN MORRIN ( mother's surname Flynn), native of Cloughbrack, county Galway, who stands charged with having, on the 31st day of May, 1887, in the barony of Ross, parish of Ross, grievously assaulted Michael Morrin, from the effects of which his life is in danger:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, stout make, five feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 18 or 19 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a white flannel coat and trowsers; is a farmer's son. Description of DEBORAH SHEA and MICHAEL ShEA, natives of Dooks, who stand charged with having on the 17th day of April, 1887, in the barony of Iveragh, parish of Killorglin, ( together with four others who are now returned for trial to next Assizes) wilfully and feloniously murdered one Michael Burkett, of Dooks:— 1. Slightly lame, dark eyes, thick nose, red com- plexion, full face, 8tout make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore an old faded shawl and red flannel petticoat, is a farmer's daughter. 2. Gray eyes, thick nose, fair complexion, regular nose, medium make, 5 feet high, about 16 years ot age; wore a black cap, grey tweed jacket, old corduroy trowsers, tweed vest; is a farmer's son. Description of TWO MEN, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the morning of 7th instant, about 2 A. M., in the barony of Galway, parish of urlingford, burglariously broken into tho shop and dwellinghouse of Patrick Holohan, and stolen therefrom several remnants of tweed cloth and 6 skirts of women's dark brown cashmere dresses, all value for about £ 2 :— 1. Stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 35 years of age ; wore a soft felt hat, dark brown coat; supposed to be a tramp. 2. Slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high; wore a soft felt hat, brown coat; supposed to be a tramp. The remnants of tweed were of different colours, were each about a yard long, and c ut be identified. Description of RICHARD POE, native of Callan, who stands charged with having, on the 21st January, 1883, and 24th August, 1884, in the barony of Callan, parish of Callan, forged two promissory notes, on the Bank of Ireland, for £ 30 and £ 15, respectively:— Blind of left eye, generally wears a green patch over it, square build, walks with a rather swaggering gait, gentlemanly appearance, shaves all his face, may wear spectacles; blue or gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 45 years ol age, fair hair; wore a black jerry hat, gray tweed coat, trowssrs, and vest; agent of the Bank of Ireland. Description of JOHN CRAVEN alias LYNAM, native of county Wicklow, who stands charged with having, on the 26th day of May, 1887, in the barony of Geashill, parish of Geashill, stolen an ass and cart ( since recovered), and nine shillings, the property of Mrs. Pilkington, oi Geashill:— Large mouth, gray eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair, no beard, short brown moustache, swaggering gait, stammers when speaking; wore a faded gray coat, trowsors, and vest; is a tramp, and has served in the army Warrant issued for his arrest. Description of MARY KERSHAW, native of Frankford, who stands charged with having, on the 28th day of August, 1886, in the barony of Ballycowan, parish of Lynally, feloniously abandoned her infant child, whereby the life of said child was endangered:— dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight make, five feet four inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a black hat, dark jacket, and black dress; is a domestic servant. Description of PATRICK RYAN, of no fixed residence, who stands charged with having, on the 10th of March, 1887, > n ' he barony of Ballycowan, parish of Kilbride, stolen a plaid shawl ( since re- covered), the property of Mrs. Quinn, Tullamore:— Pimples on face, gray or blue eyes, long nose, fresh complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 40 years of age, brown hair, fair moustache, mixed with gray, no beard ; wore a hard brown hat, brown coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a pensioner from the army, also a tramp and attends races, & c., and generally travels along with a man named " Barry," an itinerant street tumbler. Warrant in hands of the Tullamore Police. Tullamore, May 3, 1887 ( 81265 c.— 39590.) Londonderry. Description of JAMES SMYTH, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the night of 23rd or morning of 24th July, 1887, in the barony of N. W. Liberties of Londonderry, parish of Templemore, burglariously broke out of a lodging house, taking with him a suit of gray tweed and a shirt, all value £ 1 10s. the coat, frock make with flaps on sides but no pockets:— Tattoo marks of a ring, each on two fingers, and tattooing on arms, lame from a blister on the heel; dark eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair and moustache, no whiskers; wore a peaked cap with tassel, grav tweed frock coat, trowsers, and vest, small laced shoes; believed to be wearing the stolen clothes which are too big for him, is a tramp ; believed to be a discharged soldier. Description of DANIEL CASEY, native of Augh- akerin, who stands charged with having, on the night of the 24th July, 1887, in the barony of Moydow, parish of Killashee, seriously assaulted Robert Neary, of Aughnaskea, by striking him on the head with a loaJed whip ;— Walks with a slight stoop, and generally carries his hands in his trowsers' pockets ; gray or blue eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 10^ inches high, about 22 or 23 years of age; wore a soft black hat and gray tweed suit; is a metal caster or tinker. Description of MICHAEL HOGAN, native of Ballinphonta, county Clare, and BARTHOLOMEW LAWLOR, native of Kilbaha, county Kerry, who stand charged with having, on the 14th March, 1887, at Killea, barony of Lower Connelloe, parish of Croagh, county Limerick, and in the barony of Lower Kilnamanagh, parish of Donohill, embezzled several sums of money amounting to £ 20 ( twenty pounds), the property of their master, John Cohoon, Tea Mer- chant, at Rathkeale :— 1. Stout square make, gray eyes, thick nose, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 23 years of age ; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a car driver, delivering tea, but looks like a shop assistant. 2. Down looking, sunken gray eyes, prominent nose, brown complexion, sharp face, slight active make, 6 feet high, about 20 years of age ; wore a gray tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a car driver, delivering tea. Warrant for their arrest in the hands of the District Inspector at Dundrum, county Tip- perary. Rathkeale, May 17, 1887, ( 81245 c.— 39993.) Description of JOHN MAHON, native of Kila- dangan, who stands charged with having, on the 18th February, 1887, in the barony of Costello, parish of Kilcolman, murdered one Edward Luby:— Large forehead, dark heavy eyebrows, sunken gray or blue eyes, short nose sunk between eyes, pale complexion, broad face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 19 years of age, dark brown hair; wore a soft cap, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest. Description of A MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the morning of the 28th June, 1887, in the barony of Lower Duleek, parish of Duieek, stolen 6 store heifers, value £ 60, the property of P. Matthews, Esq., J. P., Mount Hanover:— Speaks with an American accent, and carried a large whip; sunburnt complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark brown hair ; wore a brown tweed tag coat, dark trowsers and vest; is apparently a farmer or respectable dealer. Description of A MAN, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 16th April, 1887, in the barony of Upper Navan, parish of Bective, stolen 2 sheep ( since recovered), the property of N. L. Logan, Esquire, of Grange :— Sandy hair and moustache, blue eyes, small hooked nose, fresh complexion, regular face, dirty and uneven teeth, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 30 years of age, ; wore a black frock coat, tweed trowsers worn at bottom, dark vest; apparently a drover. Sligo. 1 neinl Description of two itinerant tinkers namei M'DONAGH, native places unknown, who stand charged with having on the 5th July, 1887, in the barony of Leyney, parish of Ballisodare, stolen a pair of car wheels the property of Daniel M'Gloin ;— 1. Flat, nose, swarthy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 70 years of age, gray hair; wore knee trowsers, and long gray stockings. 2. Dark complexion, thin face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 27 years of age, black hair. Collooney, July 13, 1887. ( 82600 c 41582.) Description of THREE PERSONS, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 6th day of April, 1887, in the barony of Corran, parish of Emlaghfad, seriously assaulted one Martin Coggins, of Carrowmurray, by striking him on the head with a stone and a loaded whip handle, fracturing his skull, whereby his life is in danger :— 1. Very black moustache, no whiskers, long neck, drooped nose, swarthy complexion, thin face, 5 feet 6 inches high, between 20 and 25 years of age, black hair; wore a black cloth coat and vest; is of the farming class. 2. Very broad shoulders, no whiskers or moustache, very fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, between 20 and 25 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is of the farming class. 3. Fair complexion about 16 or 17 years of age, dark gray coat and vest; is of the farming class. Ballymote, April 26, 1887. ( 81171 c.— 39448.) Tipperary. Description of JERRY GRIFFIN, native of Golden, who stands charged with having, on the 12th July, 1887, in the barony of Clanwilliam, parish of Relickmurry and Athassal, stolen a silver lever watch No. 2,125, maker Gaskin, Dublin. The watch is deficient a glass, second hands and ring, for the latter a piece of wire has been substituted, value £ 2, the property of John M'Glynn :— Has a cast in one eye, slovenly appearance, blue eyes, regular nose, sandy complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches hi" h, about 20 yeais of age ; wore a black jerry hat, dark coloured tweed coat, trowsers and vest ; is a labourer. Description of THOMAS BOLAND, native o » Ballaghmore, King's County, who stands charged with having, on the night of 18th or morning of 19th April, 1887, in the barony of Eliogarty, parish of Drom, stolen a sheep, the property of George Roe, Esq., and who failed to attend trial at Thurles Quarter Sessions on 15th June, 1887, having been bailed to appear there:— Active appearance, blue eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 11 inches high, about 35 years of age, dark hair, dark whiskers under ears, shaves chin and upper lip; wore a soft hat, brown tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. Description of JOHN BURKE and EDWARD BURKE, natives of Knockhonaduff, who stand charged with having, on the 13th May, 1887, at Glenough, in the barony of Kilnamanagh, parish of Clonoulty, stolen 6 heifers ( since recovered), the property of Patrick Hickey;— 1. May have old cut marks on head, small eyes, thin nose, sallow complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 50 years of age, black hair; wore a soft hat, dark tweed coat, light tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a labourer. 2. Blue eyes, thin nose, sandy complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 43 years of age, dark hair; wore a round hard hat; is a labourer. Dundrum, May 19, 1887. Description of LAWRENCE CARLEY, native of Ranaghan, who stands charged with having, on the 26th May, 1887, in the barony of Demifore, parish of Saint Fechins, fired a revolver shot at Widow Jane Heffernan, in her dwelling- house at Ranaghan, on 26th May, 1887, wounding her in the head:— Large wide mouth, thick lips, restless manner, aggressive expression, blue eyes, cocked nose, sallow complexion, short face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark hair turning gray, wears iron gray side whiskers ( no beard or moustache), is inclined to drink hard; wore a hard round felt hat, dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; long silver chain round neck fastened to watch ; is a farmer and cattle jobber. Particulars relative to Convict JAMES MILLIGAN, A 689, convicted at Belfast, county Antrim, at Belfast Assizes for county Antrim on 20th March, 1883, for larceny after previous conviction, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude :— 44 years of age on conviction, he can read and write; is a protestant, single, tailor, born at Armagh, resided before conviction at Belfast, where his friends reside; brown hair, gray eyes, sandy eyebrows, small nose, medium mouth, fresh complexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high ; left eye blind. This man was released on licence from Maryboro' Prison, on 23rd February, 1887, and went to reside at 8, Cumberland - street, Blackrock, county Cork, which place he has left without notifying to the Royal Irish Constabulary, and his present whereabouts is unknown. Wanted on Warrant, charged with forging and utter- ing a cheque for £ 30, ALFRED HALL, a native of Stoke- on- Trent, and late of 26, Granville- street, Stoke- on- Trent, by trade a baker, and is well known among bakers in the Potteries:— About 33 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, pale complexion, light brown hair, thin light whiskers and moustache, or may now be shaved, rather round shouldered, thumb of right hand much larger than the other, owing to its having been knocked up and split up the centre through the nail, lie was last seen in Hanley on Tuesday, the 5th instant, when he was wearing a black hard hat, light tweed jacket and vest, white collar and front, no neck- tie, light cord trowsers, and lace- up boots. It is suspected that he has left or will endeavour to leave the country. Wanted for stealing post letters in this city :— WILLIAM COLE, a Letter Carrier, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, slim built, black curly hair, full red whiskers, beard and moustache, long thin pale face, high forehead, peculiar look in his eyes, and turns his toes in when walking; dressed when last seen in a long dark blue overcoat, soft billy- cock hat, and uniform trowsers. Description of a man wanted at Rochdale, on a charge of stealing a large sum of money, the property of his employers " The Corporation of Rochdale" :— JOSEPH SCOTT HARESCEUGH, clerk and traveller, 29 years of age, 5ft. 6 or 7in. high, gray eyes, fair complexion, light brown hair ; he is very dull of hearing and near sighted, he often wears spectacles, especially so when reading ; clean and smart in appear- ance. He was dressed when last seen, in a black coat and vest, dark mixture trowsers and billy- cock hat, an4 a light drab overcoat. He was last heard of in Leeds on the 14th June. He is a native of Rochdale — his father was at one time manager of the manure department there. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. Wanted in Edinburgh, charged with having, on the 10th instant stolen a deposit receipt for £ 750 from a Lockfast box in a dwelling- house at Portobello, and with having forged an indorsation thereon and there- after, within the premises of the Bank of Scotland, Edinburgh, presented said deposit receipt and ob- tained a deposit receipt on the Bank of Scotland, dated 10th instant, in favour of George Hay, 17 Keir- street, Edinburgh, for the sum of £ 160, £ 500 in £ 5 Bank of Scotland notes, £ 70 in £ 5 Bank of England notes, £ 7 10s. in gold, and 9s. in silver money, at the same time accused transferred a sum of £ 12 12s. to another branch of the Bank of Scotland:— GEORGE CORNELIUS SMITH HAY, 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches in height, stout make, inclined to corpulency, dark hair, bald on top, high formation of head, full pale face, brownish moustache only, otherwise shaved, large eyes, wears glasses; dressed in black suit of clothes, blue tie with white spots, round black felt hat, lacing boots, is of respectable appearance, stoops forward, and head is believed to incline slightly to right side, speaks with distinctly Scotch accent; has been three times confined as a lunatic, twice in an Asylum at Edinburgh, and once in an American Asylum; has been addicted to fast living, which may again have affected his brain. Accused absconded immediately after obtaining the money before mentioned, and will probably be found spending the money freely in hotels and other likely place, or may endeavour to emigrate. The above reward will be paid by the Bank of Scotland to any person ( other than a Police Officer) giving such information as will lead to the arrest of the accused, and the recovery of the money obtained or in proportion to the amount recovered.
