No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature wiU be inserted. All Descriptions of persons whose apprehension is sought on a charge of Misdemeanour should be accompanied by a statement that a " Warrant has been issued, and by the name of the person in whose hands it is. But the Constabulary should remember that they cannot arrest a person charged with an offence of thil nature unless thoy have the Warrant in their possession. *„* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- ancl- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information the mistake cannot be rectified. Prison and Police Authorities are particularly requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations; & c., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. Description of JAMES CLEMENTS, mother's surname M'CONNELL, native of Larne, who stands charged with having, on or about 21st June, 1887, in the barony of Upper Glenarm, parish of Larne, unlaw- fully and carnally known Hessie Allen, a girl under the age of thirteen years:— Blue eye', regular nose, fresh complexion, round face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 23 years of age, dark hair ; wore a guernsey coat, gray striped trowsers and vest; is a sailor. Description of the undernamed young offender who, on the 13th July, 1887, absconded from the Malone Reformatory School at Belfast: THOMAS KELLY, 17 years of age, dark hair, hazel oyes, light eyebrows, regular nose,' fresh com- plexion, long visage, rtedium make; 5 feet 1 inch high ; is a shoemaker. Born at whiteabbey, formerly belonged to Whiteabbey, brother resides at 12, Ship- buoy- street ; two large scars on outside of right leg, result of a bite of a dog. Blue dot between thumb and first finger of right hand. Description of JAMES MURRAY ( supposed fictitious), native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 5th July, 1887, in the barony of Clonkee, parish of Enniskeen, four head of young cattle in his possession, which he was trying to sell at Kingscourt Fair, supposed to be stolen :— Birth mark behind left ear, cupped on back of neck : gray eyes, long nose, sallow complexion, long thin face, slender make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 40 years of age, short dark hair, large heavy dark moustache, face shaved; wore a gray serge coat, brown trowsers, and vest. Cork. - Description of MICHAEL BROWN, native of Knockduff Upper, who stands charged with having, on the 9th April, 1887, at Curragh, in the barony of Duhallow, parish of Clonfert, with others committed or attempted to commit a rape upon Ellen Roche, and being required to give bail for his appearance at next Cork Assizes, failed to do so and has absconded:— Dark eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, oval face, stout make, 5" feet 10 inches high, about 28 years of age, black hair; wore a soft black hat, frieze coat, tweed trowfers and vest; is a farmer. Description of JAMES DUFFY, native of county Donegal, who stands charged with having, on the 11th April, 1887, in the barony of Kilmacrenan, parish of Tulloughobegley, entered the house of Hugh Conaghan, and severely assaulted the latter:— Rather smart appearance, no whiskers or moustache, dark eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet 74 incheB high, about 20 years of age, fair hair; wore a black cap, black tweed coat, gray trowsers, black tweed vest, and elastic- sided boots; is a baker. Description of WILLIAM BECK ( mother's surname Greenway,") native of Coolnacran, county Down, who stands charged with having, on the 21st June, 1887, at Coolnacran, in the barony of Upper Iveagh, parish of Aghaderg. in the county of Down, indecently assaulted Mary Hall, a child under 15 years of age :— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 30 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark coat, gray tweed trowsers, and dark vest; is a weaver. Description of MARGARET SALSBURY, native of Enniskillen, who stands charged with having, on the lst day of June, 1887, in the barony of Lower Iveagh, Upper Half, parish of Hillsboro', and townland of Ballykeelartifiney, abandoned and exposed her male child, about one month old, whereby the life of said child was endangered:— Sore eyes, short nose, fresh complexion, round face, medium make, 5 feet high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a white straw hat, trimmed with black velvet, red plaid shawl, a pair of new elastic boots; was accompanied by a boy, about 1 year and 9 months old. Sore or reddish eyes, sandy complexion, medium make, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 25 years of age, wore a jerry hat, dark old gray tweed coat; corner boy appearance. 2. Description of DEBORAH SHEA and MICHAEL SHEA, natives of Dooks, who stand charged with lim ing on the 17th day of April, 1887, in the barony of Ivemgh, parish of Killorglin, ( together with four others who are now returned for trial to next Assizes) wilfully and feloniously murdered one Michael Burkett, of Dooks :— 1. Slightly lame, dark eyes, thick nose, red com- plexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 2 inchcs high, about 22 years of age, dark hair; wore an old faded shawl and red flannel petticoat, is a farmer's daughter. 2. Oray eyos, thick nose, fair complexion, regular nose, medium make, 5 feet high, about 16 years ol age ; wore a black cap, grey tweed jacket, old corduroy trowsers, tweed vest; is a farmer's son. Description of TWO MEN, names and native plaocs unknown, who stand charged with having, on tho morning of 7th instant, about 2 A. M., in the barony of Galway, parish of urlingford, burglariously broken into tho shop and dwcllinghouse of Patrick Holohan, and stolen therefrom several remnants of tweed cloth and 6 skirls of women's dark brown cashmere dresses, all value for about £ 2 :— 1. Stout make, 5 feot 7 inches high, about 35 years of ago ; wore a soft felt hat, dark brown coat; supposed to he a tramp. 2. Slight make, 5 feet 9 inches high; wore a soft felt hat, brown coat; supposed to bo a tramp. Tlio remnants of tweel were of different colours, were each about, a yard long, and cm be identified. Description of RICHARD POE, native of Callan, who stands charged with having, on the 21st January, 1883, and 24th August, 1884, in the barony of Callan, parish of Callan, forged two promissory notes, on the Bank of Ireland, for £ 30 and £ l5, respectively:— Blind of left eye, generally wears a green patch over it, square build, walks with a rather swaggering gait, gentlemanly appearance, shaves all his face, may wear spectacles; blue or gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 45 years of age, fair hair; wore a black jerry hat, gray tweed coat, trows° rs, and vest; agent of the Bank of Ireland. Description of MICHAEL HOGAN, native of Ballinphonta, county Clare, and BARTHOLOMEW LAWLOR, native of Kilbaha, county Kerry, who stand charged with having, on the 14th March, 1887, at Killca, barony of Lower Connelloe, parish of Croagh, county Limerick, and in the barony of Lower Kilnamanagh, parish of Donohill, embezzled several sums of money amounting to £ 20 ( twenty pounds), the property of their master, John Cohoon, Tea Mer- chant, at Rathkeale :— 1. Stont square make, gray eyos, thick nose, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 fuet 9 inches high, about 23 years of age ; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a car driver, delivering tea, but looks like a shop assistant. 2. Down looking, sunken gray eyes, prominent nose, brown complexion, sharp face, slight active make, 6 feet high, about 20 years ot ago; wore a gray tweed coat, tweed trowsers and vest; is a car driver, delivering tea. Description of THREE PERSONS, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 6th day of April, 1887, in the barony of Corran, parish of Emlaghfad, seriously assaulted one Martin Coggins, of Carrowmurray, by striking him on tho head with a stone and a loaded whip handle, fracturing his skull, whereby his life is in danger :— 1. Very black moustache, no whiskers, long neck, drooped nose, swarthy complexion, thin face, 5 feet 6 inches high, between 20 and 25 years of age, black hair; wore a black cloth coat and vest; is of the farming class. 2. Very broad shoulders, no whiskers or moustache, very fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 6 inches high, between 20 and 25 years of age, fair hair; wore a gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is of the fanning class. 3. Particulars relative to Convict PATRICK CARR, A 658, convicted at Dublin, at City Sessions, on 12th January, 1883, for larceny, and sentenced to 5 years"' penal servitude:— 19 years of age on conviction, single, _ is a porter; born at Dublin, resided before conviction at Charlemont- avenue, Dublin, where his friends resido; brown hair, blue eyes, fair eyebrows, small nose, small mouth, fresh complexion, round visage, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high ; marked with ring on left middle finger, and 5 dots on left forearm. This man was released on licence from Lusk Prison, 30th December, 1886, and went to reside at 76, Charle- mont- street, which place he has left without notifying to the Metropolitan Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. Wanted on Warrant, charged with forging and utter- ing a cheque for £ 30, ALFRED HALL, a native of Stoke- on- Trent, and late of 26, Granville- street, Stoke- on- Trent, by trade a baker, and is well known among bakers in the Potteries:— About 33 years of ago, 5 feet 4 or 5 inches high, pale complexion, light brown hair, thin light whiskers and moustache, or may now be shaved, rather round shouldered, thumb of right hand much larger than the other, owing to its having been knocked up and split up the centre through the nail. He was last seen in Hanley on Tuesday, the 5th instant, when he was wearing a black hard hat, light tweed jacket and vest, white collar and front, no neck- tie, light cord trowsers, and lace- up boots. . It is suspected that he has left or will endeavour to leave the country. Description of a man wanted at Rochdale, on a charge of stealing a large sum of money, the property of his employers " The Corporation of Rochdale":— JOSEPH SCOTT HARESCEUGH, clerk and traveller, 29 years of age, 5ft. 6 or 7in. high, gray eyes, fair complexion, light brown hair ; he is very dull of hearing and near sighted, he often wears spectacles, especially so when reading ; clean and smart in appear- ance. He was dressed when last seen, in a black coat and vest, dark mixture trowsers and billy- cock hat, and a light drab overcoat. He was last heard of in Leeds on the 14th June. He is a native of Rochdale — his father was at one time manager of the manure department there. A warrant has been issued for his airest. Wanted in Edinburgh, charged with having, on the 10th instant stolen a deposit receipt for £ 750 from a Lockfast box in a dwelling- house at Portobello, and with having forged an indorsation thereon and there- after, within- the premises of the Bank of Scotland, Edinburgh, presented said deposit receipt and ob- tained a deposit receipt on the Bank of Scotland, dated 10th instant, in favour of George Hay, 17 Keir- street, Edinburgh, for the sum of £ 160, £ 500 in £ 5 Bank of Scotland notes, £ 70 in £ 5 Bank of England notes, £ 7 10s. in gold, and 9s. in silver money, at tho same time accused transferred a sum of £ 12 12s. to another branch of the Bank of Scotland:— GEORGE CORNELIUS SMITH HAY, 30 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches in height, stout make, inclined to corpulency, dark hair, bald on top, high formation of head, full pale face, brownish moustache only, otherwise shaved, large eyes, wears glasses; dressed in black suit of clothes, blue tie with whito spots, round black felt hat, lacing boots, is of respectable appearance, stoops forward, and head is believed to incline slightly to right side, speaks with distinctly Scotch accent; has been three times ' confined as a lunatic, twice in an Asylum at Edinburgh, and once in an American Asylum ; has been addicted to fast living, which may again have affected his brain. Accused absconded immediately after obtaining the money before mentioned, and will probably be found spending the money . freely in hotels and other likely place, or may endeavour to emigrate. The above reward will be paid by the Bank ol Scotland to any person ( other than a Police Officer) giving such information as will lead to the arrest of the accused, and the recovery of the money obtained or in proportion to the amount recovered. Police Officers are requested to keep a very sharp look out at hotels and other likely places, and to examine all outward going vessels, with the view of securing the arrest of the accused and the recovery of the money.
