STOLEN, about 7 p. m., 1st November, 1886, from an hotel in this city [:— A gold English lever watch, with black figures, rose, thistle, and shamrock engraved on back, had attached a gold Albert chain, made from a lad/ s long chain, with two slides on; a pair of gold eye- glasses, with chain attached ; a small cameo brooch, set with diamonds and pearls; a brooch, twisted'gold setting, with tor- quoise stone; a blue pearl enamelled brooch, set with 25 pearls, shape of Maltese cross; a gold ring, buckle pattern, set with 2 diamonds; a pair of old- fashioned bracelets, gold- plated, about 2 inches wide, shape of a chain ; a large gold locket, with monogram, " M. A. B.," containing gent's photograph; a silver curb neck chain, gold- plated ; a pair of blue enamel and pearl ear- drops ; a long gold chain, snake pattern, had attached blue pearl brooch, and a small gold ring set with imitation diamond. 4 Ann Taylor, a domestic servant, aged 37 years, Height S feet, complexion dark, hair . turning gray, dressed in dark clothes and has a very dejected appearance. PARTICULARS of Frederick Dashwood, who is in custody, charged with obtaining food and lodgings by false pretences, viz, by representing himself as a Post Office official, remanded until Friday, the 22nd inst.:— Native of London, 28 years of age, 5 feet 7\ inches high, fresh complexion, brown hair, gray eyes, scar on left elbow and scar on right knee ; dressed in light sacque jacket and vest, and brown trowsers. WANTKD for uttering a forged cheque, on the 24th ultimo, George M'Minn :— About 42 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, very thin black whiskers all round face, dark thin moustache, prominent aquiline nose, thin face, prominent cheek bones, verv thin neck, fingers slightly discoloured as though from French polish, very nervous, dressed in black frock coat, tall silk hat, shakespeare collar, and carried an umbrella. He is using a cheque book of the Birmingham and Midland Bank, Limited, numbered from A 07050 ( inclusive), purchases goods, and tenders in payment a cheque for a larger amount than the purchase, and receives the surplus change. WANTED, charged on Warrant with stabbing two Police Officers with intent to murder, on the night of the 28th ult. :— 1. Thomas Towey, a collier, 26 years of age, 6 feet 6 inches high, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, blue eyes, proportionate build, very sljght whiskers and moustache, or may be clean shive< i, cross- eyed, • one eye squints worse than the other ; dressed in collier's cap with peak, old blue reefer jacket, and clogs. 2. Mary Ellen Bates, aliases Parkinson, M'Guinness, and " Polly Pikelets," a prostitute, 18 years of age, looks older, 5 feet 1 inch high, very fresh complexion, dark brown hair, blue eyes, rather stout build, round full face, front hair been cut for fringe, but was growing long again; dressed in dark broad brimmed hat, light print dress, white apron, small bright coloured shawl, and elastic side boots. They frequent low public houses and lodging houses, and the woman plies her trade in a great measure among boatmen. Information to the Chief Constable, Hanley. WANTED in this burgh, on a charge of embezzle- ment of £ 770, the property of the Netherdale Deposit Society, Douglas Davidson:— A millworker, 42 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches in height, swarthy complexion, stout build, dark hair, dark whiskers, all round, mixed with gray, rather thin on chin, dark moustache; gruff voice ; dressed in a dark tweed suit, black over- coat, and hard felt hat. A warrant has been granted for the apprehension of the above described person who absconded this morning. WANTED on a Sheriff's Warrant charged with embezzlement of Trust funds to the above amount, Robert Henderson Ferguson, an Accountant, at 45, West Nile- street', in this city, about 83 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, deep ruddy complexion, fab- hair, reddish fair moustache, otherwise clean shaved, dressed in fashionable clothing; when he absconded he had on a navy blue overcoat with velvet collar, dark shooting- coat and vest, and striped trousers, respectable appearance. Is a prominent foot- ball player, fast in his habits, and somewhat addicted to drink. He is unmarried, and resided at 4, Kelvin- grove- terrace, West, Glasgow. Absconded on 15th inst., and it is believed that he will endeavour to leave the country. Police Officers are requested to make particular search and enquiry for accused, at Shipping- offices, and all other likely places, have outward bound vessels watched, and should he be found arrest and communicate with A. WANTED, charged, on Sheriff's Warrant, of breach of trust and embezzlement or of theft, of a sum of money, amounting to £ 95 sterling or thereby, William Perk, a stallion Groom, native of Aber- deen :— Aged about 50 years, height 5 feet 9 inches or thereby, dark hair mixed with grey, swarthy com- plexion, long thin face, slight side whiskers, shaved on chin, and of proportionate make; dressed when he absconded in a dark suit of tweeds, half worn, and doubled peak cap, but which may now be changed. The money of which Park, is accused of embezzling, or having stolen, was the total of charges earned in Forfarshire during past season by an entire horse, belonging to Mr. James Sutor, Farmer, Collie, Elgin- shire, of which he was in charge, and which he left in a stable in Keith, on way to Collie, when he absconded on 21st ultimo. It is earnestly requested that careful inquiry and search be made for accused, at cattle sales, horse markets, stallion stables, foreign bound vessels, and other likely places, and, if found, to haye him appre- hended, detained, and information wired to the subscriber, when he will be sent for. PARTICULARS relative to Convict Timothy Dennehy, A453, convicted at Cork City, on 23rd March, 1882, for larceny, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 18 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer, born in Cork, where he resided before conviction, his friends reside at same place ; brown hair, gray eyes, black eyebrows, regular nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, round visage, slight make, 5 feet 9| inches high; dot on each hand between thumb and forefinger. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 21st April, 1886, and went to reside at Cork. He left Cork in July last without notifying his change of residence to the Police, and is supposed to have gone to Cardiff. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 1st November, 1886, absconded from the Glencree Reformatory School, county Wicklow:— Patrick Maginnis, No. 2129, about 16 years of age, 5 feet 3 inches high, stout make, fresh com- plexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, ordinary nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage ; cut- mark on left wrist, small mark over right eye, and tattoo mark on back of right hand. Formerly belonged to 18 Poole- lane, Newry, where his parents reside. His uncle, Pat Tuite ( dealer in old clothes), resides at Castleblayney; his uncle, James Maginnis, at Market- street, Newry ; and his uncle, J. M'Guinness, at Arthur O'Hanlon's Gardens, Newry ; had one or two red pookethand- kerchiefs in his pockets. This boy was accompanied by James Dooley, No. 1901, and Thomas Coventry, No. 1971. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of:— Corduroy jacket, trowsers, and vest, clastic belt, cloth cap Scotch make, strong nailed boots, No. 2129. DESCRIPTION of a heifer, the property of James Lynch, which was stolen from the lands of Lisheen, parish of Clondegad, barony of Islands, and county of Clare, on the night of 25th October, 1886 ^ One- and- a- half years old, colour white and red, horns remarkably fine and short, tops turned backwards, riso over the shoulders, tbe letters M. DESCRIPTION of a man and woman, names and native places unknown, believed from accent to be Clare or Limerick, who stand charged on suspicion with having, on the 19th day of August, 1886, in the barony of Bunratty Lower, parish of Kilnasoolagh, deserted a male infant about 4 months old, by leaving it on the roof of a pig- stye in the townland of Lattoon South. 1. Smart hardy appearance, rather square shoulders, active make, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, regular face, medium make, five feet nine inches high, about thirty years of age, sandy hair, no beard or whiskers, moustache sandy or reddish- brown colour; wore a hard felt hat, dark sack coat, and light coloured trowsers; had his socks pulled over the bottom of trowsers, laced or highlow boots; has the appearance of a carpenter or mason, more like the latter. This man stated that he had left Limerick and was going to Ennis to look for work. 2. Strong hardy appearance, regular nose, fresh complexion, rather broad full face, medium make, five feet three inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark shawl and dress; appeared to be the wife of No. 1. DESCRIPTION of Francis Greene, native of Carrow- more North, who stands charged with having, on the 26th July, 1886, in the barony of Ibricken, and parish of Killard, threatened to shoot William Browne, and presented a loaded gun at him :— Has a black eye, swaggering gait, and generally keeps his hands in trowsers pocket, small gray tender eyes, hooked nose, sandy complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 34 years of age, sandy hair; wore an old brown hard hat, gray tweed coat and trowsers, flannel vest; is a labourer. R., during the night of the 26th of October, 1886:— Black with white neck, numerous white or gray spots on the back, 4 yeara old, in good condition, and about 24 inches in height, answers to the name of " Lily." DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the. 12th October, 1886, absconded from the Rehoboth- piace Reformatory School, Dublin:— Martin Doyle, No. 214, aged about 17 years, 5 feet 4 inches high, slight make, pale complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, long and thin nose, lips rather prominent, long visage, mark of burn on under side of right arm near the wrist, formerly belonged to city of Dublin, mother did iive at 56 Marlboro'- street. The school dress, all with reformatory stamp, consists of. cord trowsers, cord and sleeved vest, tweed cap. strong nailed and buckled boots. The boy is well known at and has friends about Mecklenburgh- street. DESCRIPTION of Daniel Lane ( mother's surname Curtin), native of Meenbanivan, who stands charged with having, on the 9th day of October, 1886, in the barony of Trughenackmy, parish of Castleisland, stolen two bullocks, the property of the Land Cor- poration ( Ireland) Company :— Gray eyes, long slightly hooked nose, fresh complexion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 28 or 29 years of age, light brown hair; wore a soft black hat, black coat, cord trowsers, and tweed vest; is a farmer's son. Faller and Co., Athlone, from whose employment he had been dismissed some time ago:— Slightly pockpitted, bald on the top of head, small side whiskers, and dark moustache, gray eyes, short nose, dark complexion, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 41 years of age, dark hair cut short; wore a soft brown hat and gray tweed suit; is a commercial traveller; is known to the Constabulary in adjoining counties. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 21st July, 1886, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, King's County:— Michael M'Crudders, 1061, 13 years of age, 4 feet 9 inches high, medium make, fresh complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, cocked nose, regular mouth, oval visage, formerly belonged to Derryhullock, Randalstown, county Antrim, where his parents reside. DESCRIPTION of Martin Bradshaw, native of Glen gar, county Tipperary, who stands charged with having, on the 1st day November, 1886, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Doon, seriously assaulted one Denis M'Carthy, of Coolbawn, so as to endanger his life :— Lame of one leg which bends inwards about the knee when walking, supposed to be suffering from an injury to the head inflicted on him same date as on which he assaulted M'Carthy, gray or blue eyes, long nose, pale complexion, rather long face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 27 years of age, very fair hair; wore a black soft hat, gray tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of William Phillips, mother's surname Parks, native of Limerick city, who stands charged with having during present year, in the barony of Limerick, parish of St. Michael's, embezzled a sum of £ 91 5s. ( and other sums) the property of his employers, the Limerick Harbour Commissioners, he being then the Clerk of the said Commissioners:— walks with a quick sharp step, blue eyes, long nose, fair complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 25 years of age, fair hair; wore a round hard hat, dark tweed coat, light tweed trowsers and vest, respectable gentlemanly appearance and address; is a Clerk, Limerick, October 12, 1886. DESCRIPTION of two persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 29th September, 1886, in the barony of Clan- william, parish of Dromkeen, seriously assaulted George Pegum, thereby placing his life in danger :— 1. Five feet seven inches high, about 25 years of age, small side whiskers and moustache; wore faded brown tweed clothes. 2. Low sized, red face, light moustache.
