WASTED for uttering a forged cheque, on the 24th ultimo, George M'Minn :— About 42 "' years of age, 6 feet 7 inches high, very thin black whiskers all round face, dark thin moustache, prominent aquiline nose, thin face, prominent cheek bones, very thin neck, fingers slightly discoloured as though from French polish, very nervous, dressed in black frock coat, tall silk hat, shakespeare collar, and carried an umbrella. He is using a cheque book of the Birmingham and Midland Bank, Limited, numbered from A 07050 ( inclusive), purchases goods, and tenders in payment a cheque for a larger amount than the purchase, and roceives the surplus change. Mary Ellen Bates, aliases Parkinson, M'Guinness, and " Polly Pikelets," a prostitute, 18 years of age, looks older, 6 feet 1 inch high, very fresh complexion, dark brown bair, blue oyes, rather stout build, round full face, front hair been cut for fringo, but was growing long again; dressed in dark broad brimmed hat, light print dress, white apron, small bright coloured shawl, and elastic side boots. WANTED in this burgh, on a charge of embezzle- ment of £ 770, the property of the Netherdale Deposit Society, Douglas Davidson:— A millworker, 42 years of age, 5 feet 9 inches in height, swarthy complexion, stout build, dark hair, dark whiskers, all round, mixed with gray, rather thin on chin, dark moustache; gruff voice ; dressed in a dark tweed suit, black over- coat, and hard felt hat. A warrant has been granted for the apprehension of the above described person who absconded this morning. WANTED on a Sheriff's Warrant charged with embezzlement of Trust funds to the above amount, Robert Henderson Ferguson, an Accountant, at 45, West Nil^ street, in this city, about 33 years of age, 5 feet 8 inches high, deep ruddy complexion, fair hair, reddish fair moustache, otherwise clean shaved, dressed in fashionable clothing; when he absconded he had on a navy blue overcoat with velvet collar, dark shooting- coat and vest, and striped trousers, respectable appearance. Is a prominent foot- ball player, fast in his habits, and somewhat addicted to drink. He is unmarried, and resided at 4, Kelvin- grove- terrace, West, Glasgow. Absconded on 15th inst., and it is believed that he will endeavour to leave the country. Police Officers are requested to. make particular search and enquiry for accused, at Shipping- offices, and all other likely places, have outward bound vessels watched, and should he be found arrest and communicate with A. WANTED, charged, on Sheriff's Warrant, of breach of trust and embezzlement, or of theft, of a sum of money, amounting to £ 95 sterling or thereby, William Park, a stallion Groom, native of Aber- deen :— Aged about 50 years, height 5 feet 9 inches or thereby, dark hair mixed with grey, swarthy com- plexion, long thin face, slight side whiskers, shaved on chin, and of proportionate make; dressed when he absconded in a dark suit of tweeds, half worn, and doubled peak cap, but which may now be changed. The mone/ of which Park, is accused of embezzling, or having stolen, was the total of charges earned in Forfarshire during past season by an entire horse, belonging to Mr. James Sutor, Farmer, Collie, Elgin- shire, of which he was in charge, and which he left in a stable in Keith, on way to Collie, when he absconded on 21st ultimo. It is earnestly requested that careful inquiry and search be made for accused, at cattle sales, horse markets, stallion stables, foreign bound vessels, and other likely places, and, if found, to have him appre- hended, detained, and information wired to the subscriber, when he will be sent for. PARTICULARS relative to convict Martin Costigan, A276, convicted at Clonmel, county Tipperary, on the 19th day of March, 1881, for breaking into shop and stealing goods therefrom, and sentenced to 7 years penal serviture :— 39 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer, born in Josestown, county Tipperary, resided before conviction in Carrick- on- Suir, brown hair, gray eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose, medium moutb, fresh complexion, oval visage, slight make, 5 feet 10 inches high; varicose veins in right leg, black marks on left leg. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licenco, 23rd August, 1886. He has failed to report himself to the R. I. C. at Waterford, and his where- abouts is unknown. PARTICULARS relative to Convict Timothy Dennehy, A453, convicted at Cork City, on 23rd March, 1882, for larceny, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude:— 18 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer, born in Cork, where he resided before conviction, his friends reside at same place ; brown hair, gray eyes, black eyebrows, regular nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, round visage, slight make, 5 feet 9J inches high; dot on each hand between thumb and forefinger. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison on licence, 2lst April, 1886, and went to reside at Cork. He left Cork in July last without notifying his change of residence to the Police, and is supposed to have gone to Cardiff. DESCRIPTION of a man, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 7th September, 1886, in tho barony of Moyarta, parish of Kilmackduane, entered the cottage of Larry M'Donnoll, of Moyne, and taken therefrom a gun:— This man is much tattooed in blue on back of hand, the left, and about wrist, active appcarance, hardy complexion, slight make and erect figure, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 24 years of age, lightish brown hair almost fair, slight moustache, unshaven look round jaw when offence was committed; wore a hard round felt hat, gray round cut coaf, dark trowsers torn at each side of seat, he wore strong boots with a small hole cut in the upper of one of them. Description of the gun :— Single barrel muzzle- loading with ramrod attached, stock cracked near small of butt, and small piece of tin placed across cracked part, and wire bound round, two brass bands, old gun. DESCRIPTION of a man and \ » oman, names and native places unknown, believed from accent to be Clare or Limerick, who stand charged on suspicion with having, on the 19th day of August, 1886, in the barony of Bunratty Lower, parish of Kilnasoolagh, deserted a male infant about 4 months old, by leaving it on the roof of a pig- stye in the townland of Lattoon South. 1. Smart hardy appearance, rather square shoulders, active make, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, regular face, medium make, five feet nine inches high, about thirty years of age, sandy hair, no beard or whiskers, moustache sandy or reddish- brown colour; wore a bard felt hat, dark sack coat, and light coloured trowsers; had his socks pulled over tbe bottom of trowsers, laced or highlow boots ; has the appearance of a carpenter or mason, more like the latter. This man stated that he had left Limerick and was going to Ennis to 1 > ok for work. 2. Strong hardy appearance, regular nose, fresh complexion, rather broad full face, medium make, five feet three inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark shawl and dress; appeared to be the wife of No. 1. DESCRIPTION of Francis Greene, native of Carrow- more North, who stands charged with having, on the 26th July, 1886, in the barony of Ibricken, and parish of Killard, threatened to shoot William Browne, and presented a loaded gun at him :— Has a black eye, swaggering gait, and generally keeps his hands in trowsers pocket, small gray tender eyes, hooked nose, sandy complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 31 years of age, sandy hair; wore an old brown hard hat, gray tweed coat and trowsers, fl innel vest; is a labourer. STOLEN from the dwelling home of Hugh Gordon, of Brickland, barony of Upper Iveagh, and county of Down, on 16th day of September, 1886:— A lady's gold lever watch, white dial, hands rather loose, with initials " M. F." on back, a silver chain, a pair of gold sleeve studs one slightly broken, a pair of gold earings with black stone setting, and a pair of plain gold rings. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 12th October, 1886, absconded from the Rehoboth- place Reformatory School, Dublin:— Martin Doyle, No. 214, aged about 17 years, 5 feet 4 inches high, slight make, pale complexion, fair hair, blue eyes, loDg and thin nose, lips rather prominent, long visage, mark of burn on under side of right arm near the wrist, formerly belonged to city of Dublin, mother did live at 56 Marlboro'- strcet. The school dress, all with reformatory stamp, consists of cord trowsers, cord and sleeved vest, tweed cap, strong nailed and buckled boots. The boy is well known at and has friends about Mecklenburgh- street. DESCRIPTION of William King, native of Francis- street, Dublin, and James Scanlan, nativ9 of Rose- mount- street, Derry, who stand charged with having, on the 10th September, 1886, in tho barony of Tir- kennedy, parish of Magheracross, forcibly entered a dwelling- house and committed larceny. These two men have been returned for trial at Quarter Sessions for this offence, but may have committed other offences in other parts of the couutry:— 1. Old cut mark from right cheek to lip, letter K on right and left fore- arm, gray eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, long face, 5 feet inches high, about 27 years of age, light brown hair. 2. King's DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 21st September, 1886, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, King's County:— John Cahy, No. 872 ; about 18 years of age, 6 feet 4 inches bigh, strong make, dark com- plexion, dark hair almost black, dark eyes, cocked nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage, blue mark on left forearm. Formerly belonged to 1, Killen's- place, Belfast, parents reside at 1, Killen's- place, Belfast. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of black Scotch cap, dark blue tunic, dark trowsers, leather belt, and strong boots. This boy is a tailor, he belonged to the band and plays the cornet. Was making towards Mullingar, with absconder M'Cotter, will probably cbango his dress. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 21st September, 1886, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, King's county:— William M'Cotter, No. 906, 18 years of age, about 5 feet 3 inches high, strong make, fresh almost ruddy complexion, light hair, light eyes, ordinary nose, regular mouth, oval visage, scar on nose and two on the forehead. Formerly belonged to Quinn's court, Belfast The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of:— Black Scotch cap, dark blue tunic, dark trowsers, leather belt, and strong boots; is a shoemaker by trade, was seen with Cahy, making towards Mullingar. Both boys will probably change their clothing. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Cullinan, native of Clare- morris, county Mayo, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd July, 1886, in the barony of Garrycastle, parish of Bynagh, obtained money by false pretences, viz.:— By representing that he still collected money for L. Faller and Co., Athlone, from whose employment he had been dismissed some time ago:— Slightly pockpitted, bald on the top of head, small side whiskers, and dark moustache, gray eyes, short nose, dark complexion, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 41 years of age, dark hair cut short; wore a soft brown hat and gray tweed suit; is a commercial traveller; is known to the Constabulary in adjoining counties. DESCRIPTION of two heifers, the property of Charles Pope, of Cloone, which were stolen from the lands of Ballykiltyfea, parish of Cloone, and barony of Mohill, on or about Saturday night, the 2nd Octo- ber, 1886:— 1. Two- and- a- half years old, strawberry colour, having a joint off her tail, broad horns, branded with the mark of an ass's shoe on right haunch, in good condition; value for £ 9. 2. DESCRIPTION of Martin Hayes, native of Dromsally, who stands charged with having, on tho 10th October, 1886, in the barony of Coonagh, parish of Doon ( with others now in custody), seriously assaulted Patrick M'Namara, by striking him on tbe head with stones, thereby placing his life in danger:— Rathor stooped, aid speaks with a drawl, gray or blue OJCP, regular nose, fresh complexion, rogular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 32 years of ago ; wore a hard round hat, black, frock coat, gray tweed trowsers, black tweed vest; is a labourer.
