DESCRIPTION of James Murphy, of Dodworth, near Barnsley, a collier, wanted for the wilful murder of Police Constable Alfred Austwick, of the West Riding of Yorkshire Constabulary, stationed1 at Dodworth, by shooting him with a gun, at 11 80 p m., on the 31st ult:— 43 years of age, 5 feet 4 inches high, pale complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, round face, proportionate build, several scars on top of head, mole on right cheek, several coal marks on right wrist and back of both hands, small scar on top of left wrist; dressed in a dark mixture cloth c6at, sleeved waistcoat with moleskin back, and Windsor cord front, white bone buttons, moleskin trowsers, clogs without irons, far worn, brown cap with peak. A notorious poacher, and has served five years' penal servitude for housebreaking. Information to be given to Mr. Superintendent KANE, Barnsley; or to Captain T. S. No. 1939, who was convicted at Preston Sessions, on the 1st July, 1885, and sentenced to 12 calendar months' imprisonment, and 4 years' Police supervision:— He is 53 years of age, 5 feet 6J inches high, fresh complexion, gray hair, gray eyes, proportionate build, oval shaped face, a baker by trade, and a native of Stockport, Cheshire; has scar over left eye, seven boil scars on back, two boil scars left buttock, two burn scars left arm, little finger right hand crooked, ruptured both sides, three blue dots right cheek, and cut back of right hand. WANTED, charged, on Sheriff's Warrant, of breach of trust and embezzlement, or of theft, of a sum of money, amounting to ,£ 95 sterling or thereby, William Park, a stallion Groom, native, of Aber- deen :— Aged about 50 years, height 5 feet 9 inches or thereby, dark hair mixed with grev, swarthy com- plexion, long thin face, slight side whiskers, shaved on chin, and of proportionate make; dressed when he absconded in a dark suit of tweeds, half worn, and doubled peak cap, but which may now be changed. The money of which Park, is accused of embezzling, or having stolen, was the total of charges earned in Forfarshire during past season by an entire horse, belonging to Mr. James Sutor, Farmer, Collie, Elgin- shire, of' which he was in charge, and which he left in a stable in Keith, on way to Collie, when he absconded on 21st ultimo. { t is earnestly requested that careful inquiry and search be made for accused, at cattle sales, horse markets, stallion stables, foreign bound vessels, and other likely places, and, if found, to have him appre- hended, detained, and information wired to the subscriber, when he will be sent for. DESCRIPTION of a man, name and native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 7th September, 1886, in the barony of Moyarta, parish of Kilmackduane, entered the cottage of Larry M'Donnell, of Moyne, and taken therefrom a gun:— This man is much tattooed in blue on back of hand, the left, and about wrist, active appearance, hardy complexion, slight make and erect figure, 5 feet 10 or 11 inches high, about 24 years of age, lightish brown hair almost fair, slight moustache, unshaven look round jaw when offence was committed; wore a hard round felt hat, gray round cut coat, dark trowsers torn at each side of seat, he wore strong boots with a small hole cut in the upper of one of them. Description of the gun :— Single barrel muzzle- loading with ramrod attached, stock cracked near small of butt, and small piece of tin placed across cracked part, and wire bound round, two brass bands, old gun. Graham, of Castleciine, which , - was stolen from his yard at Castlecrine, in the parish of Kilfinghta, baron r of Bunratty Lower, on the 20th day of August, 1886:— A gray rough- haired Scotch deerhound bitch, about ten months old, answers to tho name of ' Tara," Sixmilebridge, Aug. 28, 1886. ( 76100 c.— 31403.) DESCRIPTION of a man and woman, names and native places unknown, believed from accent to be Clare or Limerick, who stand charged on suspicion with having, on the 19th day of August, 1886, in the barony of Bunratty Lower, parish of Kilnasoolagh, deserted a male infant about 4 months old, by leaving it on tho roof of a pig. stye in the townland of Lattoon South. 1. Smart hardy appearance, rather square shoulders, active make, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, regular face, medium make, five feet nine inches high, about thirty years of age, sandy hair, no beard or whiskers, moustache sandy or reddish- brown colour; wore a hard felt hat, dark sack coat, and light coloured trowsers; had his socks pulled over the bottom of trowsers, laced or highlow boots ; has the appearance of a carpenter or mason, more like the latter. This man stated that he had left Limerick and was going to Ennis to look for work. 2. Strong hardy appearance, regular nose, fresh complexion, rather broad full lace, medium make, five feet three inches high, about 25 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark shawl and dress; appeared to be the wile of No. 1. Sixmilebridge, Aug. 23,1886. ( 75977 c.— 31211.) DESCRIPTION of Francis Greene, native of Carrow- more North, who stands charged with having, on tho 26th July, 1886, in the barony of Ibricken, and parish of Killard, threatened to shoot William Browne, and presented a loaded gun at him :— Has a black eye, swaggering gait, an( k generally keeps his hands in trowsers pocket, small gray tender eyes, hooked nose, sandy complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 34 years of age, sandy hair; wore an old brown hard hat, gray tweed coat and trowsers, flannel vest; is a labourer. ( 75683 c.— 30614) DESCRIPTION of John Reilly and Thomas Reilly, natives of Lisheen, who stand charged with having, on the night of 9th instant, in the barony of Islands, parish of Clondegad, stolen two two- year old heifers, since recovered, the property of Michael and James Gaven, off their farm at Lisheen, Sub- District of Newhall, county of Clare, and with having sold them at the lair of Kilkee on 10th instant. One gave his name as Murphy to the dealer who purchased the cattle:— 1. Smart active appearance, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 23 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a shop assistant. Lately returned from America. 2. Good looking, blue eyes, regular nose, fair com- plexion, round face, slight make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 21 years of age, light brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. The two men, names and native places unknown, who stand charged' with intimidation, have not been arrested; Hue- and- Ory, 13th July, 1886. Kerry. DESCRIPTION of a double- barrelled breechloading pin- fire gun, a six- chambered breechloading revolver, and a meerschaum pipe, the property of John Rattray, steward to Mr. P. Mahony, Esq., M. P., Kilmorna, which were stolen from the house of the above- named Rattray, in the townland of Kilmeany, parish of Knockanure, and barony of Irraghticonnor, on the 11th July, 1886 :— 1. A double- barrelled pin- fire breechloading gun, had a hole large enough to admit a darning needle being passed through in left barrel, seven inches from muzzle ; value for £ 1 10s. 2. A six- chambered breechloading revolver, maker's name Welby, London, - 450 bore loaded with - 442 cartridge in five chambers, and - 480 bore cartridge in one chamber, enclosed in a brown leather case with belt attached, " Pierce Mahony " faintly marked on inside of case with a pin ; value for £ 4- 3. A straight stemmed meerschaum pipe, amber mouthpiece, silver- mounted, well coloured ; value for 17s. 0rf. Listowel, July 18, 1886. ( 75287 c 29979.) Down. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Edwards, native of Bridge- street, Newry, who stands charged with having, on the 8th day of September, 1886, in the barony of Lower Castlereagh, parish of Holywood, stolen from the house of Colonel M'Cance, Knocknagoney, a silver box, value for £ l :— Wants left arm, wore all his beard cut short and turning gray, hazel eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 48 years of age, dark turning gray hair; wore an old black coat, trowsers and vest. Ho has been returned for trial at Quarter Sessions for this offence, but may have committed other offences in other parts of the country. Newtownards, Sep. 11, 1886. ( 76364 c 31900.) Dublin. Porter- Porter, Esquire, on 2{) th or 21st August, 1886 s— Black greyhound bitch, fifteen months old, with white chest Twenty pounds reward offered for its recovery. Kesh, September 8, 1886. ( 76317 a— 31995.) Kildare. DESCRIPTION of two dogs, the property of J. W. Raleigh, Esq., D. I., R. I. C., Robertstown, which were stolen from the lands of Robertstown, parish of Kilmeage, and barony of Connejl, on the 15th day of August, 1886:— 1. A yellow terrier dog, ears and tail cut, wire haired, castrated, answers to the name of " Spite." 2. A blue terrier bitch, long ears and tail, long haired, answers to the name of " Lu Lu." Both animals fond of water, likely taken by boat men belonging to the Grand Canal. ( 76363 c.— 31899.) John Cassidy ( robbery), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 18th June, 1886. The man, name and native place unknown, described in the Hue- and- Cry of 9th February, 1886 ( charged with having set fire to a rick of hay), has not been arrested. King's DESCRIPTION of Thomas Cullinan, native of Clare- morris, county Mayo, who stands charged with having, on the 3rd July, 1886, in the barony of Garrycastle, parish of Rynagh, obtained money by false pretences, viz.:— By representing that he still collected money for L. Faller and Co., Athlone, from whose employment he had been dismissed some time ago:— Slightly pockpitted, bald on the top of head, small side whiskers, and dark moustache, gray eyes, short nose, dark complexion, medium make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 41 years of age, dark hair cut short; wore a soft brown hat and gray tweed suit; is a commercial traveller; is known to the Constabulary in adjoining counties. Ferbane, August 11, 1886. ( 75774 c.— 30778.) DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 21st July, 1886, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, King's County:— Michael M'Crudders, 1061, 13 years of age, 4 feet 9 inches high, medium make, fresh complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, cocked nose, regular mouth, oval visage, formerly belonged to Derryhullock, Randalstown, county Antrim, where his parents reside. The school dress, all with reformatory stamp, consists of corduroy trowsers, vest, and tunic, elastic belt, blue cloth cap ( Scotch make), and blucher boots, No. 1061. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expense of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. ( 32808 M.— 61383.) DESCRIPTION of two bullocks, the property of Mr. Wilton Vaugh, which were stolen from the lands of Ballinwing, pnri « h of Kiltoghart, barony of Leitrim, on the 14th day of August, 1886:— 1. Three- and- a- half years old, grey color, in good condition, branded on right horn with the letter " V." v- lue for £ 11. 2. Three- and- a- half years old, spotted red and white, branded on right horn with the letter " V." value for £ 11. Carrick- on- Shannon, 20 August, 1886. ( 75943 c.— 31108) Peter Joseph Rooney ( obtaining money by false pretences), not arrested ; Hue- and- Ory, 19th Febru ary, 1886. Limerick. DESCRIPTION of Michael Burke, native of Feda- more, who stands charged with having, on the 9th September, 1886, in the barony of Owneybeg, parish of Abington, seriously assaulted John O'Neill, by fracturing his skull, thereby placing his life in danger :— Gray eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight active make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 24 years of age, dark hair, small dark moustache; wore a straw hat, dark striped tweed coat, trowsers and vest; is a labourer. New Pallas, Sep. 12, 1886. ( 76360 o.— 31896). DESCRIPTION of Philip Kennedy ( mother's surname Ryan), native of Ganavane Upper, who stands charged with having, on the 17th day of June, 1886, in the barony of Owneybeg, parish of Doon, fired with a gun at one John Godfrey, with felonious intent, and being bailed to stand his trial at the Limerick Summer Assizes on the 6th July, 1886, failed to do so:— Down- looking and smart appearance, slight turn in nose, gray or blue eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 35 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard low felt hat, dark tweed coat, light tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son., Bench Warrant has been issued for his arrest. The person who gave the name of Andrew Cotter ( obtaining goods by false pretences), described in the Hue- and- Cry of 13th instant, has not been arrested. Londonderry. DESCRIPTION of Robert Kearney, native of Ardtrea, cookstown, county Tyrone, who stands charged with having, on the 21st July, 1886, at Bogtown, in the barony of Coleraine, and parish of Dunboe, stolen a silver watch and gold chain, £ 2 10s. in money, and a bundle of clothes, from the person of Robert John Ferguson:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, long face, slight make, 5 feet 8| inches high, about 23 years of age, dark brown hair, smqll moustache ; wore an old velvet cap, long black cord overcoat, gray trowsers ; is a labourer; deserter from 6th Brigade, North Irish Division, Royal Artillery. At time of robbery he wore uniform of Royal Artillery, which he threw away, dressing himself in the stolen clothes. Coleraine, July 30, 1886. ( 75503 o.— 30283.) DESCRIPTION of three head of cattle, the property of Thomas M'Fadder, of Ashlittle, in this sub- district, which were stolen from the lands of Ballin- loughan, parish of Louth, and baronv of Louth, on the night of the 7th or morning of 8th September, 1886:— 1. One- and a- half year old bullock, red and white, speckled or roan colour, short thick horns, fore knees swelled, in good condition, and value for about £ 6. 2. One and- a- half year old bullock, yellow colour with white spots on sides, shorthorns, in good con- dition, and value for about £ 4 10 « . \ 3. DESCRIPTION of John Curreen ( mother's surname Farragher), native of Cloongowla, who stands charged with having, on the 27th July, 1886, in the barony of Kilmain, parish of Ballinrobe, seriously assaulted his father Michael Curreen, and en- dangering his life by kicking him and with having robbed him of £ 1;— Very broad square shoulders, hollow ehest, shaved face, square jaws, long dark straight hair brushed back, determined looking, has a head like an actor or an American, short straight forehead, blue or steel gray eyes, short sharp nose, sallow complexion, athletic make, IS feet 10 inches high, about 45 years of age; probably wore a dark gray frieze coat, black trowsers, black double- breasted vest of twilled cloth ; is a farmer. DESCRIPTION of Edward Nevins, native place not known, who stands charged with having, on the 19th July, 1886, in the barony of Maryboro' East, parish of B jrris, broken out of a lodging- house at Maryboro', and carried away articles of wearing apparel, the property of John Murphy, of Abbeyleix:— Birds tattooed on arms, dark eyes, straight nose, very dark complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 80 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard round hat, dark worn coat, cord velvet trowsers, light tweed vest, and toe- capped boots ; is a tramp shoemaker. The clothing consists of a velvet cord trowsers, light tweed vest, low hard hat, and a pair of toe- capped boots, all value for about 17s.; he is supposed to be wearing stolen articles. DESCRIPTION of a horse, the property of Henry Sadlier, of Scalaheen, which strayed from liis lands at Scalaheen, on 10th September, 1886, and is believed to have been since stolen, viz:— A light golden chestnut horse, about three years old, short tail same colour, mane gapped, shod; value for £ 15 or £ 20. A brindled dog, gray and black stripes. 2. A female dog, all white. 8. Walks erect, heavy eyebrows, dark eyes, regular nose, dark CompVxion, long thin face, medium make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a dark cloth coat, dark tweed ti owsers and vest; is a farmer's son. 2. Large mouth, gray eyes, regular nose, pale sallow complexion, full face, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high, about 17 years of age, dark hair ; wore a gray tweed coat, corduroy trowsers, tweed vest, strong laced boots ; is a farmer's son. DESCRIPTION of Cornelius English and Richard English, natives of Carrowkeale , who stand charged with having, on the 24th July, 1886, in the barony of Kilnamagh Lower, parish of Donohill, struck James Gleeson with a stone, fracturing his skull. Gleeson since died from the effects of the fracture. 1. Very dark face, gray eyes, thin nose, very dark complexion, dark face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 4S years of age, dark hair; wore an old soft hat, old dark tweed coat, old tweed trowsers, and vest; is a farmer. 2. Rather long neck, blue eye?, regular nose, fresh complexiojD, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, dark hair, no hair on face except a black moustache on upper lip ; wore an old dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son.
