No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. * » * Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give tne number it bears, as without thi* information it is almost impossible to rectify the mistake. Prison and Police Authorities are requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, < fec., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. duBLIn, THESE , AUGUST 3, 1886. ENGLISH POLICE. WANTED at Kendal, for failing to report change of residence, Police , Supervisee, Henry Clarke, Reg. No. 1939, who was convicted at Preston Sessions, on the 1st July, 18X5, and sentenced to 12 calendar month's imprisonment, and 4 years' Police supervision:—- He is 53 years of age, 5 feet flj inches high, fresh complexion, gray hair, gray eyes, proportionate build, oval shape-! face, a baker by trade, and a native of Stockport, Cheshire ; has scar over left oye, soven boil scars on back, two boil scars left buttock, two burn scars left arm, little finger right hand crooked, ruptured both sides, three blue dots right cheek, and cut back of right hand. Supervision expires on tho 30th June. 1890. If found, should be dealt with under 34 and 35 Vic, ch. 112. sec. 8, or communicate with the under- signed, who will senl for him. WANTED for fraudulently obtaining, on the 14th July, 1886, a rounded gold IK carat buckle ring,' set with three small diamonds, scratched " H. T " inside, 1 seal travelling rug. 1. rug strap, 1 black leather haadbag, 1 white shirt 2 linen collars, Connaught shape, came Welsh, Wayetron, and Co. thereon, 2 pairs of linen cuffs, size 9£, markod Ban inside, black satin tie, Stanley shapo, with white spots, and £ 7 9s. 6d. in money :— 1. Harry Joseph, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 6 inches high, stout build, dark brown hair, slight dark moustache, may have a little side whiskers or clean shaved, broad full face, prominent eyes, rather a Jewish look; dressed in a black frok" co; t, fine cloth, light cloth trowsers, black round felt hat, sizo 7, maker Lincoln, Bennett, and Co., London, inside, and may be wearing some of the li- ien and th- i tie above described, gave his address as Fernhead Lodge, near Harrow- road, London, W., supposed false. 2. Charles Arthur Slader, about 83 years of age, 6 feet 8 to 10 inches high, sle; der build, dark brown hair, thin face, dark brown beard and moustache, cut short; dressed in a blnck cloth roou ning coat, dark trowsors. and black felt hat, size 6£, name Hood and salmond, Imrie, and Co., Durham, inside, wa3 some . time in a solicitor's office in this c ty. Their modus operandi is to call upon tradesmen and order goods and pay for the S'ime by cheque, which is occasionally in excess of the value of the goods, in which case they receive the balance in cash, upon the cheques been presented they are returned marked no account. Joseph will have a cheque book iu his possession, North Western Bank ( Limited), Liverpool B anch, with swerail unused cheques in it, also a pass book of the name bank. It is particularly requested that every possib'o search, and enquiry bo made at hotols, billiard rooms, and. other likely planes, and if found arrest, and communicate with JOHN SMITH, Chief Constable, City Police Office, Claypath, Durham. WANTED, at Kendal, for failing to report, Police Supervisee, Charles Webster, alias Charles Thomp- son :— 44 years of ago, 5 feet 3| inches high without shoes, fair complexion, dark brown hair, hazel ejes, -^ proportionate bui d, oval face : scar back of neck, Vaccination mark on right arm, scar on ri. ht hip, and two on right knee, varicose veins on left leg, mole right side of body, " Nil desperandum," the star of independence on arm, is a gardener by trade, and a native of Kendal. Sentenced at Carlisle, 17th October, 1876, to 8 years' penal servitude and 2 years' police supervision for housebreaking, liberated 16th December, 1882, W. C. 1122, left Kendal on the 8th inst. for Liverpool. These men mav be accompanied by a prostitute named Clara Baker, a native of West Bromwich, of very dark complexion. PARTICULARS relative to Convict Anne Hall, other- wise Mary M'Cabe, convicted at Dundalk, at county Louth Sessions, on 1st February, 1883, for larceny after previous conviction for felony, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude :— 5- 0 years of age on convic- tion, single, prison trade laundrywork and sewing, born in Drogheda, where she resided before conviction, her friends reside in Wigan ; brown hair, blue eyes,, dark eyebrows, short nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, broad visage, stout make, 4 feet 10 inches high ; slightly pockpitted. This woman was released on licence from Grange- gorman Prison on 1.1th June, 1886, and went to reside in Dublin., She left her residence, 6, St. Peter's- terrace, Cabra- road ftVoiit the middle o. fjlait month, without informing aie Police, and her present whereabouts is unknown. PARTICULARS relative to Police Supervisee Sarah Kelly, alias Gordon, alias Connor, convicted at county Monaghan Sessions, on the 26th June, 1885, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to 12 calendar months from 23rd June, 1885, and 2 years police supervision:— 36 years of age on con- viction, single, is a servant, born at Rathangan, county Kildare, no fixed place of residence before conviction, her friends reside at Rathangan, county Kildare; dark hair turning gray, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, ordinary nose, regular mouth, sallow com- plexion, oval visage, medium make, 4 feet inches high. This Supervisee was discharged from Tullamore Prison on 22nd June, 1886, and stated she was going to reside at Dirty- lane, Dublin, but she has not since been heard of, and her whereabouts is unknown. Thomas Cullen embezzlement), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 13th March, 1885. coat, gray bone buttons, new cuffs, recently put on owing to sleeves being short, pockets on outside of breast and one inside, single- breasted vest, no collar, plain gray bone studs, two holes, " robinson and Steele" on brass studs, four holes in trowsers, " Robinson and Steele, Dame- street," on rim of trowsers and on strap of each coat at collar; both suits value for £ 14 ; two linen shirts, marked on lower part of back with letters " T. T."; value 12s.; two gold cuff studs, on one monogram, " T."; value £ 6 ; a pair of new waterproof laced boots, maker's name, " Dobbin," on inside cf hind quarter ; value '£ 2; a pocket knife with corkscrew attached; v. lue 10s.; a button hook; value 2s ; a blue tie, stock make, and gentleman's silk umbrella; both value 13s. The thieves may be wearing the clothes, as they 1 ft behind three old black serge coats, one serge vest, one plain cloth vest, and an old pair of laced boots, like such as servants wear. DESCRIPTION of Thomas O'Connor, alias Tom Sally ( mother's surname Creehan), native of Seafield, who stands charged with having, on the 25th July, 188G , in the barony of Ibrickane, parish of Kilmurray, fractured the skull of Thomas Dwyer, of Seafield, by striking him on the head with a stone, thereby endangering his life :— Gray eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 18 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of Patrick Coffee ( mother's surname Moloney), native of Newmarket on- Fergus, who stands charged with having, on the 4th inst., in the barony of Bunratty Lower, parish of Clon- loughan, seriously assaulted Michael Cooley, of Cahertigue, by breaking his jawbone:— Slightly lame of right leg, brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet ; 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, brown hair; j wore a low soft felt hat, brown tweed coat, corduroy trowsers ; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of two men, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 6tli July, 1886, in the barony of Leitrim, parish of Ballinakill, entered the house of James Ward, Lougha- torick, sub- district Woodford, district Portumna, and forced him on bis knees, and exacted a promise from him not to use " Cooney's- road " again, putting him in fear and dread :— 1. Red complexion, red face, strong make, about 6 feet high, sandy hair, short red whiskers, rest of face shaved ; wore a soft black hat and band round it tied in krirtt, brown tweed coat and trowsers, and bright coloured vest. 2. Dark complexion, stout make, about 5 feet 6 inches high, black hair; wore a frieze coat and trowsers. Portumna, July 8, 1886. ( 75216 c 29772.) DESCRIPTION of John Reilly and Thomas Reilly, natives of Lisheen, who stand charged with having, on the night of 9th instant, in the barony of Islands, parish of Clondegad, stolen two two- year old heifers, since recovered, the property of Michael and James Gaven, off their farm at Lisheen, Sub- District of Newhill, county of Clare, and with having sold them at the fair of Kilkee on 10th instant One gave his name as Murphy to the dealer who purchased the cattle:— 1. Smart active appearance, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 23 years of age, brown hair; wore a dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a shop assistant. Lately returned from America. 2. Good looking, bluo eyes, regular nose, fair com- plexion, round face, slight make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 21 years of age, light brown hair; wore a dark tweed coat, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of the property of Thomas Turbett, Esquire, which was stolen from his dwelling house, Scribblestown, in the parish and barony of Castle- knock, by some persons unknown, between 3 and 6 tfclock on the morning of 8th July, 1886 :— Gentleman's dark violet cloth suit— frock coat, bone buttons, two outside breast pockets, and one inside, single- breasted vest, rolling collar, d > rk cloth buttons, trowsers with plain bon - stu's, four holes, flaps on pockets; gentleman's shepherd's plaid suit— frock Kerry. DESCRIPTION of a double- barrelled breechloading pin- fire gun, a six chambered breechloading revolver, and a meerschaum pipe, the property of John Rattray, steward to Mr. P. Mahony, Esq., M. P., Kilmorna, which were stolen fiom the house of the above- named Rattray, in the townland of kilmeany, parish of Knockanure, and barony of Irraghticonnor, on the 11th July, 1886:— 1. A double- barrelled pin- fire breechloading gun, had a hole large enough to admit a darning needle being passed through in left barrel, seven inches from muzzle ; value for £ 1 10s. 2. A six- chamberedbreechloading revolver, maker's name Welby, London, - 450 bore loaded with - 442 cartridge in five chambers, and - 450 bore cartridge in one chamber, enclosed in a brown leather case with belt attached, " Pierce Mahony " faintly marked on inside of case with a pin ; value for £ 4- 3. A straight stemmed mrprschaum pipe, amber mouthpiece, silver- mounted, w. 11 coloured; value tor 17s. 6d. Listowel, July 18, 1886. ( 75287 c 29979.) Kildare DESCRIPTION of a bullock, the property of Joseph S. Tedcastle, which was stolen from the lands of Hybla, parish of Monasterevan, barony of West Offaly, on the 22nd July, 1886, viz.:— A dark red bullock, mixed with a little white, right horn broken off close to the head, " J. S. T." burned on left horn, about 15 months old, in good eondition; value for about £ 8. Kildare, July 25, 1886. ( 75523 c.— 30328. King's DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 21st July, 1886, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, King's County:— Michael M'Crudders, 1061, 13 years of age, 4 feet 9 inches high, medium make, fresh complexion, brown hair, brown eyes, cocked nose, regular mouth, oval visage, formerly belonged to Derryhullock, Randalstown, county Antrim, where his parents reside. The school dress, all with reformatory stamp, consists of corduroy trowsers, vest, and tunic, elastic belt, blue cloth cap ( Scotch make), and blucher boots, No. 1061. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expense of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. ( 32808 M.— 61383.) Leitrim, DESCRIPTION of a bullock, the property of Francis La Touche, Esq., J. P., which was stolen from the lands of Sheemore, parish of Kiltoghart, barony of Leitrim, on the 26t, h day of July, 1886 :— Dark strawberry color, branded on right horn with the letters " P. K.," and on right hip " F. L„" horns turned inwards, years ol!, in fair condition; value for £ 10. Car. on- Shan., July 28, 1886. ( 75593 c.— 30452.) Peter Joseph Rooney ( obtaining money by false pretences), not arrested ; Hue- and- Ory, 19th Febru- Cry, 1886. Limerick. DESCRIPTION of Philip Kennedy ( mother's surname Ryan), native of Ganavane Upper, who stands charged with having, on the 17tb day of June, 1886, in the barony of Owneybeg, parish of Doon, fired with a gun at one John Godfrey, with felonious intent, and being bailed to stand his trial at the Limerick Summer Assizes on the 6th July, 1886, failed to do so:— Down- looking and smart appearance, slight turn in nose, gray or blue eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 35 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard low felt hat, dark tweed coat, light tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son. The person who gave the name cf Andrew Cotter ( obtaining goods by false pretences), described in the Hue- and- Cry of 13th instant, has not been arrested. Londonderry. DESCRIPTION of Robert Kearney, native of Ardtrea, Cookstown, county Tyrone, who stands charged with having, on the 21st July, 1886, at Bogtown, in the barony of Coleraine, and parish of Dunboe, stolen a silver watch and gold chain, £ 2 10s. in money, and a bundle of clothes, from the person of Robert John Ferguson:— Gray eyes, regular nose, fresh com- plexion, long face, slight make, 5 feet 8| inches high, about 23 years of age, dark brown hair, small moustache ; wore an old velvet cap, long black cord overcoat, gray trowsers ; is a labourer; deserter from 6thJ Brigade, North Irish Division, Royal Artillery. At time of robbery he wore uniform of Royal Artillery, which he threw away, dressing himself in the stolen clothes. Coleraine, July 30, 1886. ( 75503 c.— 30283.) Mayo. DESCRIPTION of John Curreen ( mother's surname Farragher), native of Cloongowla, who stands charged wiih having, on the 27th July, 1886, in the barony of Kilmain, parish of Ballinrobe, seriously assaulted his father Michael Curreen, and en- dangering his life by kicking him and with having robbed him of £ 4 :— Very broad square shoulders, hollow chest, shaved face, square jaws, long dark straight hair brushed back, determined looking, has a head like an actor or an American, short straight forohead, blue or steel gray eyes, short sharp nose, sallow complexion, athletic make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 45 years of age; probably wore a dark gray frieze coat, black trowsers, black double- breasted vest of twillod cloth ; is a farmer. Patrick Healy ( charged with having assaulted Edward Hussey, assistant messenger of the Court of Bankruptcy, Ireland, after being arrested on a Warrant issued by said Court, thereby effecting his escape from legal custody) has not been arrested, Hue- and- Cry, 26th January, 1886. DESCRIPTION of Edward Nevins, native place not known, who stands charged with having, on the 19th July, 1886, in tho barony of Maryboro' East, parish of Borris, broken out of a lodging- house at Muryboro, anST carried away articles of wearing apparel, the property of John Murphy, of Ahbeyleix:— Birds tattooed on arms, dark eyes, straight nose, tery dark complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 2 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard round hat, dark worn coat, cord velvet trowscrs, light tweed vest, and toe- capped boots; is a tramp shoemaker. The clothing consists of a velvet cord trowsers, light tweed vest, low hard hat and a pair of toe- capped boots, all value for about 17s.; he is supposed to be wearing stolen articles. Very dark face, gray eyes, thin nose, very dark complexion, dark face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 45 years of age, dark hair; wore an old soft hat, old dark tweed coat, old tweed trowsers, and vest; is a farmer. 2. Rather long neck, blue eye?, regular nose, fresh complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, dark hair, no hair on face except a black moustache on upper lip; wore an old dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a farmer's son.
