DUBLIN, FRIDAY, JULY 30, 1886. ENGLISH POLICE. WANTED at Kendal, for failing to report change of residence, Police Supervisee, Henry Clarke, Reg. No. 1939, who was convicted at Preston Sossions, on the 1st July, 1885, and sentenced to 12 calendar month's imprisonment, and 4 years' Police supervision:— He is 53 years of age, 5 feet 6J inches high, fresh complexion, gray hair, gray eyes, proportionate build, oval Bhaped face, a baker by trade, and a native of Stockport, Cheshire; has scar over left eye, seven boil scars on back, two boil scars left buttock, two burn scars left arm, littlo finger right hand crooked, ruptured both sides, three blue dots right cheek, and cut back of right hand. Supervision expires on the 30th June, 1890. If found, should be dealt with under 34 and 86 Vic., ch. 112. sec. 8, or communicate with the under- signed, who will send for him. T." inside, 1 seal travelling rug, 1 rug strap, 1 black leather handbag, 1 white shirt. 2 linen collars, Connaught shape, name Welsh, Wayetron, and Co. thereon, 2 pairs of linen cuffs, size 9|, marked Ben inside, 1 black satin tie, Stanley shap" o, with white spots, and £ 7l9S. 6cI. in money :— 1. Harry Joseph, about 30 years of age, 5 feet 4 or 6 inches high, stout build, dark brown hair, slight dark moustache, may have a little side whiskers or clean shaved, broad full face, prominent eyes, rather a Jewish look; diessed in a black frock coat, fine cloth, light cloth trowsers, black round felt hat, size 7, maker Lincoln, Bennett, and Co., Lindon, inside, and may be wearing some of the liuen and the tie above doscribed, gave his address as Femhead Lodge, near Harrow- road, London, W., supposed false. 2. Charles Arthur Slader, about 33 years of age, 5 feet 8 to 10 inches high, slender build, dark brown hair, thin face, dark brown beard and moustache, cut short j dressed in a black cloth mourning coat, dark trowsers, and black felt hat, size 6 J, name Hood and Salmond, Imrie, and Co., Durham, inside, was some time in a solicitor's office in this city. Their modus operandi is to call upon tradesmen and order goods and pay for the same by cheque, which is occasionally in excess of the value of the goods, in which case they receive the balance in cash, upon the cheques been presented they are returned marked no account. Joseph will have a cheque book iu his possession, North Western Bank ( Limited), Liverpool Branch, with several unused cheques in it, also a pass book of the same bank. It is particularly requested that every possible search and enquiry be made at hotels, billiard rooms, and other likely places, and if found arrest, and communicate with JOHN SMITH, Chief Constable, City Police Office, Claypath, Durham. WANTED, at Kendal, for failing to report, Police Supervisee, Charles Webster, alias Charles Thomp- son :— 42 years of age, 5 feet 3£ inches high without shoes, fair complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, proportionate build, oval face : scar back of neck, vaccination mark on right arm, scar on right hip, and two on right knee, varicose veins on left leg, mole right side of body, " Nil desperandum," the star of independence on arm, is a gardener by trade, and a native of Kendal. Sentenced at Carlisle, 17th October, 1876, to 8 years' penal servitude and 2 years' police supervision for housebreaking, liberated 16th December, 1882, W. C. 1122, left Kendal on the 8th inst. for Liverpool. He was convicted at Kendal on the 8th May, 1885, and 22nd January, 1886, for offences under the 34 and 35 Vict., ch. 112, sec. 8, and sentenced respectively to 4 and 6 months' imprisonment. PARTICULARS relative to convict Anne Hall, other- wise Mary M'Cabe, convicted at Dundalk, at cpunty Louth Sessions, on 1st February, 1883, for larceny after previous conviction for felony, and sentenced to 5 years'penal servitude :— 50 years of age on convic- tion, single, prison trade laundrywork and sewing, borninDrogheda, where she resided before conviction, her friends reside in Wigan ; brown hair, blue eyes, dark eyebrows, short nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, broad visage, stout make, 4 feet 10 inches high; slightly pockpitted. This woman was released on licence from Grange- gorman Prison on 11th June, 1886, and went to reside in Dublin. She left her residence, 6, St. Peter's- terrace, Cabra- road, about the middle of la- t month, without informing the Police, and her present whereabouts is unknown. PARTICULARS relative to Police Supervisee Sarah Kelly, alias Gordon, alias Connor, convicted at county Monaghan Sessions, on the 26th June, 1885, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to 12 calendar months from 23rd June, 1885, and 2 years police supervision ;— 36 years of age on con- viction, single, is a servant, born at Rathangan, county Kildarc, no fixed place of residence before conviction, her friends reside at Rathangan, county Kildare; dark hair turning gray, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, ordinary nose, regular mouth, sallow com- plexion, oval visage, medium make, 4, feet inches high. This Supervisee was discharged from Tullamore Prison on 22nd June, 1886, and stated she was going to reside at Dirty- lane, Dublin, but she has not since been heard of, and her whereabouts is unknown. DESCRIPTION of Robert Farquharson, Joint Manager of the Munster Bank Dublin, and Agent for the Royal Exchange Assurance Company, Dublin, who disappeared from his residence about mid- day, on the 28th instant, and absconded from his office, leaving his accounts in an unsatisfactory state:— He is about 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark hair, dark beard, whiskers, and moustache, slightly tinged with gray, dark fresh complexion, good dark sparkling eyes, prominent teeth, average build, walks with a stoop, dressed in gentlemanly style, generally wears a silk hat; is a native of Scotland. He is suspected of having embezzled over £ 10,000, property of the said Bank. Information to Superintendent WILLIAM REDDY, Detective Department, Dublin, who holds a Warrant for his arrest. DESCRIPTION of the property of Thomas Turbett, Esquire, which was stolen from his dwelling house, Scribblestown, in the parish and barony of Castle- knock, by some persons unknown, between 3 and 6 o'clock on the morning of 8th July, 1886 :— Gentleman's dark violet cloth suit— frock coat, bone buttons, two outside breast pockets, and one inside, single- breasted vest, rolling collar, dark cloth buttons, trowsers with plain bone studs, four holes, flaps on pockets; gentleman's shepherd's plaid suit— frock coat, gray bone buttons, new cuffs, recently put on owing to sleeves being short, pockets on outside of breast and one inside, single- breasted vest, no collar, plain gray bone studs, two holes, " Robinson and Steele" on brass studs, four holes in trowsers, " Robinson and Steele, Dame street," on rim of trowsers and on strap of each coat at collar; both suits value for £ 14 ; two linen shirts, marked on lower part of back with letters " T. T."; value 12s.; two gold cuff studs, on one monogram, " T."; value £ 6; a pair of new waterproof laced boots, maker's name, " Dobbin," on inside of hind quarter ; value £ 2; a pocket knife with corkscrew attached; value 10s.; a button hook; value 2s.; a blue tie, stock make, and gentleman's silk umbrella; both value 13s. The thieves may be wearing the clothes, as they left behind three old black serge coats, one serge vest, one plain cloth vest, and an old pair of laced boots, like such as servants wear. DESCRIPTION of two men, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the flth July, 1886, in the barony of Leitrim, parish of Ballinakill, entered the house of James Ward, Lougha- torick, sub- district Woodford, district Portumna, and forced him on his knees, and exacted a promise from him not to use " cooney's- road " again, putting him in fear and dread :— 1. Red complexion, red face, strong make, about 6 feet high, sandy hair, short red whiskers, rest of face shaved ; wore a soft black hat and band round it tied in knot, brown tweed coat and trowsers, and bright coloured vest. 2. DESCRIPTION of a double- barrelled breechloading pin- fire gun, a six- chambered breechloading revolw^^ and a meerschaum pipe, the property of John Rattray, steward to Mr. P. Mahony, Esq., M. P., Kilmorna, which were stolen from the house of the above- named Rattray, in the townland of Kilmeany, parish of Knockanure, and barony of Irraghticonnor, on the 11th July, 1886 :— 1. A double- barrelled pin- fire breechloading gun, had a hole large enough to admit a darning needle being passed through in left barrel, seven inches from muzzle; value for £ 1 10s. 2. A six- chambered breech loading revolver, maker's name Welby, London, * 450 bore loaded with - 442 cartridge in five chambers, and ' 450 bore cartridge in one chamber, enclosed in a brown leather case with belt attached, " Pierce Mahony " faintly marked on inside of case with a pin ; value for £ 4- 3. Tedcastle, which was stolen from the lands of Hybla, parish of Monasterevan, barony of West Offaly, on the 22nd July, 1886, viz. :— A dark red bullock, mixed with a little white, right horn broken off close to the head, " J. DESCRIPTION of Thomas Brady, native place not known, who stands charged with having, on the 8th day of June, 1886, in the barony of Clane, parish of Mainham, . murdered Anne Ennis :— Brown eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark brown hair, and black moustache ; wore a round hard hat, tweed coat, old Royal Irish Constabulary trowsers, and tweed vest; is a tramp, and apparently discharged soldier or militia man. This man is remanded for examination on 17th instant; anything known of him should be communicated to the District Inspector at Robertstown. Robertstown, June 13, 1886. King's DESCRIPTION of two milch cows, the property of A. H. Jackson, which were stolen on the night of the 19th or morning of 20th July, 1886, from his lands at Cloreyhurk, parish of Cloneyhurk, barony of Upper Philipstown, viz.:— 1. White colour, with red spots on neck and shoulders, branded on one horn with the letters " A. J.," the other horn a little shorter, 5 years old ; value for £ 15. 2. The school dress, all with reformatory stamp, consists of corduroy trowsers, vest, and tunic, elastic belt, blue cloth cap ( Scotch make), and blucher boots, No. 1061. DESCRIPTION of Philip Kennedy ( mother's surname Ryan), native of Ganavane Upper, who stands charged with having, on the 17th day of June, 1886, in the barony of Owneybeg, parish of Doon, fired with a gun at one John Godfrey, with felonious intent, and being bailed to stand his trial at the Limerick Summer Assizes on the 6th July, 1886, failed to do so:— Down- looking and smart appearance, slight turn in nose, gray or blue eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 85 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard low felt hat, dark tweed coat, light tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son.
