Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. *.* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give ttie number it bears, as without this information it is almost impossible to rectify the mistake. Prison and Police Authorities are requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, . Stations, ifcc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry" no longer necessary. DUBLIN, TUESDAY, JULY 20, 1886. ENGLISH POLICE. WANTED, at Kendal, for failing to report, Police Supervisee, Charles Webster, alias Charles Thomp- son :— 42 years of age, 5 feet inches high without shoes, fair complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, proportionate build, oval face ; scar back of neck, vaccination mark on right arm, scar on right hip, and two on right knee, varicose veins on left leg, mole right side of body, " Nil desperandum," the star of independence on arm, is a gardener by trade, and a native of Kendal. Sent need at Carlisle, 17th October, 1876, to 8 years' penal servitude and 2 years' police supervision for housebreaking, liberated 16th December, 1882, W. C. 1122, left Kendal on the 8th inst. for Liverpool. He was convicted at Kendal on the 8th May, 1885, and 22nd January, 1886, for offences under the 31 and 35 Vict., ch. 112, sec. 8, and sentenced respectively to 4 and 6 months' imprisonment. If found, should be dealt with under the above Act, or communicate with THOMAS COTTON, Chief Constable, Kendal, Westmor- land. • Chief Constables Office, Kendal, July 15, 1886. ( 32763 M.— 61292.) WANTED on Warrant, charged with stealing at Whittington Barracks, near Lichfield, on the 11th July instant, £ 15 in cash, one suit of dark blue serge, coat cut- away pattern, and one suit of slate- coloured tweed, both suits marked on each garment, " French and Mure, Tailors, No. 50, Jerningh- street, Piccadilly," Frederick Emberton and John Carty, privates in the North Staffordshire Regiment:— 1. 21 years of age, 5 feet 5 inches high, fresh complexion, light hair, small moustache, dark gray eyes, stout build. Marks— Flag and sailor, ship, rose, thistle and shamrock, 3 lions in form of bracelet on right arm, " 6l," woman standing on ball, cross on left arm, ring on third finger of left hand ; dressed in one of the above described suits, and military boots. 2. 22 years of ago, 5 feet 4 inches high, fresh complexion, light brown hair, blue eyes, well built, coerse features, short neck, a native of Ballyragget, county Kilkenny; dressed in one of the above described suits, and military boots. These men may be accompanied by a prostitute named Clara Baker, a native of West Bromwich, of very dark complexion. Please cause every possible enquiry to be made at shipping offices, and other likely places, as it is thought Emberton may re- engage in the Navy. PARTICULARS relative to English Police Supervisee, George Budd, convicted at Birmingham, county Warwick, on the 29th May, 1885, for stealing a watch and chain, and sentenced to 12 calendar months, and 2 years police supervision :— 29 years , af age . on qonviction, married,./ is a tailoi;; born at Liverpool, resided before conviction at Birmingham ; dark- brown hair, gray eyes, fresh complexion, full visage, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high; scar left cheek, 2 blue dots and cross right lower arm, 5 blue dots left lower arm, scar both knees, birth mark right seat. This supervisee was discharged from Birmingham Prison on 28th May, 1886, and notified his intention of residing at O'Connell- street, Dublin, but he has not since been heard of, and his whereabouts is un- known. PARTICULARS relative to Convict Anne Hall, other- wise Mary M'Cabe, convicted at Dundalk, at county Louth Sessions, on 1st February, 1883, for larceny after previous conviction for felony, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude :— 50 years of age on convic- tion, single, prison trade laundrywork and sewing, born in Drogheda, where she resided before conviction, her friends reside in Wigan ; brown hair, blue eyes, dark eyebrows, short nose, medium mouth, sallow complexion, broad visage, stout make, 4 feet 10 inches high; slightly pockpitted. This woman was released on licence from Grange- gorman Prison on 11th June, 1886, and went to reside in Dublin. She left her residence, 6, St. Peter's- terrace, Cabra- road, about the middle of la?, t month, without informing the Police, and her present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of her arrest she should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act 34 ds 35 Vic., cap. 112. General Prisons Board, July 14,1886. ( 32750 M.— 61270.) PARTICULARS relative to Police Supervisee Sarah Kelly, alias Gordon, alias Connor, convicted at county Monaghan Sessions, on the 26th June, 1885, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to 12 calendar months from 23rd June, 1885, and 2 years police supervision:— 36 years of age on con- viction, single, is a servant, born at Rathangan, county Kildarc, no fixed place of residence before conviction, her friends reside at Rathangan, county Kildare; dark hair turning gray, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, ordinary nose, regular mouth, sallow com- plexion, oval visage, medium make, 4 feet inches high. This Supervisee was discharged from Tallamore Prison on 22nd June, 18S6, and stated she was going to reside at Dirty- lane, Dublin, but she has not since been heard of, and her whereabouts is unknown. PARTICULARS relative to Convict John Walsh, A 96, convicted at Kilkenny, at Michaelmas Sessions, on 9th October, 1879, for cattle stealing, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude:— 40 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer, born at Mooncoin, county Kilkenny, no fixed place of residence ; brown hair turning gray, gray eyes, brown eyebrows,, regular nose, medium mouth, fresh com- plexion, broad visage, medium make, 5 feet 7£ inches high; B. C. on left side, burn mark on inside left ankle and above left knee. This man was released from Maryboro' Prison, the 8th February, 1886, and went to Waterford. He left Tramore on the 5th inst., stating he was going to look for lodgings, but he has not since been heard of, and his whereabouts is unknown. In the event, of . his. arrest iie should ba dealt with under the 5 th sectioh of the Act, 34 & 35 Vic., cap. 112. Prisons Board, June 15, 1886. ( 32599 M.— 60856.) DESCRIPTION of Robert Farquharson, Joint Manager of the Munster Bank Dublin, and Agent for the Royal Exchange Assurance Company, Dublin, who disappeared from his residence about mid- day, on the 28th instant, and absconded from his office, leaving his accounts in an unsatisfactory state :— He is about 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark hair, dark beard, whiskers, and moustache, slightly tinged with gray, dark fresh complexion, good dark sparkling eyes, prominent teeth, average build, walks with a stoop, dressed in gentlemanly style, generally wears a silk hat; is a native of Scotland. He is suspected of having embezzled over £ 10,000, property of the said Bank. Information to Superintendent WILLIAM REDDY, Detective Department, Dublin, who holds a Warrant for his arrest. In the above case the Liquidators of the Munster Bank ( Limited) will pay a reward of £ 500 for the arrest of the said Robert Farquharson, on his being delivered up to the Gaol Authorities in Dublin. Convict John O'Brien, described in Hue- and- Cry of 28th May. 1986, has not been arrested. Convict Frederick Benson, described in Hue- and- Cry, of 20th April, 1886, for not reporting himself, has not been arrested. Convict, James Schriber, described in the Hue- and- Cry of 19th January last, has not been arrested. English convict, Margaret Ryan, described in Hue- and- Cry of 1st of January last, has not been arrested. Convict James Hearty, described in Hue- and- Cry of 8th of last month, has not been arrested. DESCRIPTION of two bullocks, the property of James M'Garrell, which were stolen from the lands of Ballymoate, parish of Glenavy, barony of Upper Massareene, on the 7th day of July, 1886 :— One a roan colour, and one white with red spots, both two years old, recently dishorned ; value for £ 5 10s. each. Supposed to have been stolen by a woman named Charlotte Duggan, about 45 years of age, 5 feet 6 inches high, dark eyes, thin nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight make, smart appearance, usually wears a black veil. DESCRIPTION of Charles O'Higgins, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 8th June, 1886, in Lurgan, in the barony of Oneiland East, parish of Shankhill, flred at and wounded several persons in a riot:— Swaggering gait, slightly bow- legged, blue eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 25 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a grocer's assistant and book- keeper. DESCRIPTION of John Reilly and Thomas Reilly, natives of Lisheen, who stand charged with having, on the night of 9th instant, in the barony of Islands, parish of Clondegad, stolen two two year old heifers, since recovered, the property of Michael and James Gaven, off their farm at Lisheen, Sub- District of Newhall, county of Clare, and with having sold them at the lair of Kilkee on 10th instarrt. One gave his name as Murphy to the dealer who purchased the cattle:— 1. Smart active appearance, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, regular face, stout make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 28 jears of age, brown hair; wore a dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is a shop assistant. Lately returned from America. 2. Good looking, blue eyes, regular nose, fair com plexion, round face, slight make, 5 feet 10 inches high, about 21 years of age, light brown hair; wore a dark tweed cout, dark trowsers and vest; is a labourer. DESCRIPTION of a person, reputed to be John Neill, or O'Neill, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd April, 1886, in the barony of West Division East Carbery, parish of Kilkerranmore, murdered Daniel Neill, of Knocks District, Dunmanway, Sub- District Ballygurteen, by shooting him with a revolver:— Wants forefinger of right hand, regular nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 50 years of age, dark hair; wore a sack- shaped dark coat, light trowsers like doeskin, check flannel shirt; is a navvy, lately on Clonakilty and Ballydehob New Rail- way; returnod American. Patrick Quinn ( charged with having been one of a party of men, who called at the houses of several persons and demanded arms and money), not arrested ; Hue- and- Ory, 4th December, 1885. Dublin. DESCRIPTION of the property of Thomas Turbett, Esquire, which was stolen from his dwelling house, Scribblestown, in the parish and barony of Castle- knock, by some persons unknown, between 3 and 6 o'clock on the morning of 8th July, 1886 ;— Gentleman's dark violet cloth suit— frock coat, bone buttons, two outside breast pockets, and one inside, single- breasted vest, rolling collar, dark cloth buttons, trowsers with plain bone studs, four holes, flaps on pockets; gentleman's shepherd's plaid suit— frock coat, gray bone buttons, new cuffs, recently put on owing to sleeves being short, pockets on outside of breast and one inside, single- breasted vest, no collar, plain gray bone studs, two holes, " Robinson and Steele" on brass studs, four holes in trowsers, " Robinson and Steele, Dame street," on rim of trowsers and on strap of each coat at collar; both suits value for £ 14 ; two linen shirts, marked on lower part of back with letters " T. T."; value 12s.; two gold cuff studs, on one monogram, " T."; value £ 6; a pair of new waterproof laced boots, maker's name, " Dobbin," on inside cf hind quarter ; value £ 2; a pocket knife with corkscrew attached; value 10s.: a button hook; value 2s.; a blue tie, stock make, and gentleman's silk umbrella; both value 13s. The thieves may be wearing the clothes, as they left behind three old black serge coats, one serge vest, one plain cloth vest, and an old pair of laced boots, like such as servants wear. The property of Mrs. Hannah Mathews, which was stolen from her house, Richmond- road, on the night of the 26th or morning of the 27th March, 1886, has not been recovered; Hue- and- Cry, 30th March, 1886. The articles, the property of William George Edmonds, which were stolen from his dwelling- house, have not been recovered; Hue- and- Cry, 12th March, 1886. James Smith ( robbery of money), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 16th February, 1886. Fermanagh. James Cassidy ( assault endangering life), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 8rd October, 1884. Galway. DESCRIPTION of two men, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 6th July, 1886, in the barony of Leitrim, parish of Ballinakill, entered the house of James Ward, Lougha- torick, sub- district Woodford, district Portumna, and forced him on his knees, and exacted a promise from him not to use " Cooney's- road " again, putting him in fear and dread :— 1. Red complexion, red face, strong make, about 6 feet high, sandy hair, short red whiskers, rest of face shaved ; wore a soft black hat and band round it tied in knot, brown tweed coat and trowsers, and bright coloured vest. 2. Dark Complexion, stout make, about 5 feet 6 inches high, black hair; wore a frieze coat and trowsers. Portumna, July 8, 1886. ( 75216 o— 29772.) Joseph Greene ( not appearing to attend his trial when on bail on a charge of assault), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 23rd March, 1886. The watches and other property, stolen from John P. Fogarty's shop, situate in Shop- street, Galway, which was forcibly entered on the night of 22nd or morning of 23rd February last, have not been recovered ; Hue- and- Cry, 26th February, 1886. John Wood ( robbery), not arrested; Hue- and- Ory, 5th January, 1886. Kerry. DESCRIPTION of a double- barrelled breechloading pin- fire gun, a six- chambered breechloading revolver, and a meerschaum pipe, the property of John Rattray, steward to Mr. P. Mahony, Esq., M. P., Kilmorna, which were stolen f- tom the house of the above- named Rattray, in the townland of Kilmeany, parish of Knockanure, and barony of Irraghticonnor, on the 11th July, 1886:— 1. A double- barrelled pin- fire breechloading gun, had a hole large enough to admit a darning needle being passed through in left barrel, seven inches from muzzle ; value for £ 1 10s. 2. A six- chambered breechloading revolver, maker's name Wei by, London, ' 450 bore loaded with - 442 cartridge in five chambers, and - 450 bore cartridge in one chamber, enclosed in a brown leather case with belt attached, " Pierce Mahony " faintly marked on inside of case with a pin ; value for £ 4- 3. A straight stemmed meerschaum pipe, amber mouthpiece, silver- mounted, well coloured; value for 17s. 6c/. Listowel, July 18, 1886. ( 75287 c.— 89979.) DESCRIPTION of two sets of harness, the property of the Honorable R. A. Winn, which were stolen from his coach- house at Rossbeigh, in tht^ larish of Glenbehy, and barony of Iveragh, on tight of 25th June, 1886, viz.:-— One set of o^ silver- mounted double harness, minus one pair of hames and traces left behind, crest and motto om winkers and housing; value for £ 3; one set Mi single silvered- mounted harness, nearly new, 4Rmes fully plated, crest and motto in three places on winkers, also on housing; value for £ 14; one plain saddle without stirrups; value £ 1 10s. The crest comprises a dragon surmounting a wreath, enclosing the letters " R. A. W." with the motto " virtute et labore " in raised letters. Killorglin, June 27, 1886. ( 75008 c.— 29398.) Thomas Connor ( intimidation), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 2nd April, 1886. John Allman ( intimidation), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 19th March, 1886. Jeremiah Healy ( assault endangering life), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 23rd February, 1886. Daniel Sullivan ( charged with others of having, on the night of the 13th November, 1885, in the barony of Magunihy, parish of Molahiffe, murdered John O'C. Curtin), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 20th November, 1885. Kildare, DESCRIPTION of Thomas Brady, native place not known, who stands charged with having, on the 8th day of June, 1886, in the barony of Clane, parish of Mainham, murdered Anne Ennis :— Brown eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark brown hair, and black moustache ; wore a round hard hat, tweed coat, old Royal Irish Constabulary trowsers, and tweed vest; is a tramp, and apparently discharged soldier or militia man. This man is remanded for examination on 17th instant; anything known of him should be communicated to th. © District Inspector at Robertstown. R, obert3town, June 13, 1886. John Cassidy ( robbery), not arrested; Hue- and- Ory, 18th June, 1886. - The man, name and native place unknown, described in the Hue- and- Cry of 9th February, 1886 ( charged with having set fire to a rick of hay), has not been arrested. King's DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 21st June, 1886, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory School, King's county:— Timothy Costigan, No. 989, 17 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slight make, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, regular nose, ordinary mouth, oval visage, cut mark on forehead. Formerly belonged to Tullore, Ballyroan, Maryboro', his parents reside at Tullore. The school dress, all with reformatory stamp, consists of:— Corduroy trowsers, vest, and tunic, elastic belt, blue cloth Scotch cap, blucher boots, No. 989. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1. DESCRIPTION of Philip Kennedy ( mother's surname Ryan), native of Ganavane Upper, who stands charged with having, on the 17th day of June, 1886, in the barony of Owneybeg, parish of Doon, fired with a gun at one John Godfrey, with, felonious intent, and being bailed to stand his trial at the Limerick Summer Assizes on the 6th July, 1886, failed to do so:— Down- looking and smart appearance, slight turn in nose, gray or blue eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 85 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard low felt hat, dark tweed coat, light tweed ^ trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son. Anne Dempsey, supposed native of Dublin ( child desertion), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 26th Feb- ruary, 1886. The two persons, names and native places unknown., who stand charged with having cn the night of the 11th December, 1885, in the barony of Upper Ormond, parish of Kilmore, been two Moonlighters, armed with revolvers, who entered the house of Denis Manning, of Ballincur, and forcibly took therefrom a double- barrelled gun, not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 15th December, 1885. Waterford. DESCRIPTION of John Brazzil and Thomas Brazzil ( mother's surname Coffey), natives of Glenanone, and Michael Wall -( mother's surname Crotty), native of Knockeenree, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 7th July, 1886, at Barrakaveen, in the barony of Upperthird, parish of Killaloan, seriously assaulted Patrick O'Donnell, of Knockeen- ree, thereby endangering his life:— 1.
