No Description can be inserted unless an Information shall have been Sworn; but it is . not necessary to forward the Informations to the Inspector- General. , Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. %* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give tile number it bears, as without thii information it is ulmost impossible to rectify the mistake. Prison and Police Authorities are requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, ifcc., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry" no longer necessary. A chisel about 8 inches long, one end of which resembles the head of a claw- hammer, which had been left behind, was found inside the premises. Police officers are requested to make particular search and enquiry at pawn shops, jewellers, and all other likely places, for the above described property. If found and traced to the possession of any person or persons apprehended, or any trace is obtained ot the same, communicate with THOS. DUBLIN METROPOLITAN POLICE G Division, PARTICULARS relative to English Police Supervisee, George Budd, convicted at Birmingham, county Warwick, on the 29th May, 1885, for stealing a watch and chain, and sentenced to 12 calendar months, and 2 years police supervision :— 29 years of age on conviction, married, is a tailor; born at Liverpool, resided before conviction at Birmingham ; dark- brown hair, gray eyes, fresh complexion, full visage, stout make, 5 feet 3 inches high; scar left cheek, 2 blue dots and cross right lower arm, 5 blue dots left lower arm, scar both knees, birth mark right seat This supervisee was discharged from Birmingham Prison on 28th May, 1886, and notified his Intention of residing at O'Connell- street, Dublin, but he has not since been heard of, and his whereabouts is un- known. PARTICULARS relative to Convict Anne Hall, other- wise Mary M'Cabe, convicted at Dundalk, at county Louth Sessions, on 1st February, 1883, for larceny after previous conviction for felony, and sentenced to 5 years'penal servitude:— 50 years of age on convic- tion, single, prison trade laundrywork and sewing, born in Drogheda, where she resided before conviction, her friends reside in Wigan ; brown hair, blue eyes, dark eyebrows, short nbse, medium mouth, sallow complexion, broad visage, stout make, 4 feet 10 inches high; slightly pockpitted. This woman was released on licence from Grange- gorman Prison on 11th June, 1886, and went to reside in Dublin. She left her residence, 6, St. Peter's- terrace, Cabra- road, about the middle of la t month, without informing the Police, and her present whereabouts is unknown. In the event of her arrest she should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act 84 & 35 Vic., cap. 112. General Prisons Board, July 14,1886. ( 32750 M.-- 61270.) PARTICULARS relative to Police Supervisee Sarah Kelly, alias Gordon, alias Connor, convicted at county Monaghan Sessions, on the 26th June, 1885, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to 12 calendar months from 23rd J une, 1885, and 2 years police supervision:— 36 years of age on con- viction, single, is a servant, born at Rathangan, county Kildare, no fixed place of residence before conviction, her friends reside at Rathangan, county Kildare; dark hair turning gray, hazel eyes, dark brown eyebrows, ordinary nose, regular mouth, sallow com- plexion, oval visage, medium make, 4 feet inches high. This Supervisee was discharged from Tullamore Prison on 22nd June, 1886, and stated she was going to reside at Dirty- lane, Dublin, but she has not since been heard of, and her whereabouts is unknown. ( 32745 M.— 61200.)- J,. ji^ l mm PARTICULARS relative to Convict John Walsh, A 96, convicted at Kilkenny, at Michaelmas Sessions, on 9th October, 1879, for cattle stealing, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude:— 40 years of age on conviction, single, is a labourer, born at Mooncoin, county Kilkenny, no fixed place of residence ; brown hair turning gray, gray eyes, brown eyebrows, regular nose, medium mouth, fresh com- plexion, broad visage, medium make, 5 feet 7£ inches high; B. C. on left side, burn mark on inside left ankle and above left knee. This man was released from Marybrro' Prison, the 8th February, 1886, and went to Waterford. He left Tramore on the 5th inst., stating he was going to look for lodgings, but he has not since been heard of, and his whereabouts is unknown. In the event of his arrest he should be dealt with under the 5th section of the Act, 34 & 35 Vic., cap. 112. Prisons Board, June 15, 1886. ( 32599 M.— 60856.) DESCRIPTION of Robert Farquharson, Joint Manager of the Munster Bank Dublin, and Agent for the Royal Exchange Assurance Company, Dublin, who disappeared from his residence about mid- day, on the 28th instant, and absconded from his office, leaving his accounts in an unsatisfactory state:— He is about 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark hair, dark beard, whiskers, and moustache, slightly tinged with gray, dark fresh comolexion, good dark sparkling eyes, prominent teeth, average build, walks with a stoop, dressed in gentlemanly style, generally wears a silk hat; is a native of Scotland. He is suspected of having embezzled over £ 10,000, property of the said Bank. Information to Superintendent WILLIAM REDDY, Detective Department, Dublin, who holds a Warrant for his arrest. In the above case the Liquidators of the Munster Bank ( Limited) will pay a reward of £ 500 for the arrest of the ? aid Robert Farquharson, on his being delivered up to the Gaol Authorities in Dublin. DESCRIPTION of Charles O'Higgins, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 8th June, 1886, in Lurgan, in the barony of Oneiland East, parish of Shankhill, fired at and wounded several persons in a riot:— Swaggering gait, slightly bow- legged, blue eyes, regular nose, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 25 years of age, fair hair; wore a dark tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; is a grocer's assistant and book- keeper. DESCRIPTION of a person, reputed to be John Neill, or O'Neill, native place unknown, who stands charged with having, on the 2nd April, 1886, in the barony of West Division East Carbery, parish of Kilkerranmore, murdered Daniel Neill, of Knocks District, Dunmanway, Sub- District Ballygurteen, by shooting him with a revolver :— Wants forefinger of right hand, regular no « e, pale complexion, thin face, slight make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 50 years of age, dark hair; wore a sack- shaped dark coat, light trowsers like doeskin, check flannel shirt; is a navvy, lately on Clonakilty and Ballydehob New Rail- way; returned American, Dunmanway, April 4, 1886. Patrick Quinn ( charged with having been one of a party of men, who called at the houses of several persons and demanded arms and money), not arrested ; Hue- and- Ory, 4th December, 1885. Dublin. DESCRIPTION of the property of Thomas Turbett, Esquire, which was stolen from his dwelling house, Scribblestown, in the parish aud barony of Castle- knock, by some persons unknown, between 3 and 6 o'clock on the morning of 8th July, 1886 :— Gentleman's dark violet cloth suit— frock coat, bone buttons, two outside breast pockets, and one inside, single- breasted vest, rolling collar, dark cloth buttons, trowsers with plain bone studs, four holes, flaps on pockets ; gentleman's shepherd's plaid suit— frock coat, gray bone buttons, new cuff- t, recently put on owing to sleeves being short, pockets on outside of breast and one inside, single- breasted vest, no collar, plain gray bone studs, two holes, " Robinson and Steele" on brass studf, four holes in trowsers, " Robinson and Steele, Dame- street," on rim of trowsers and on strap of each coat at collar; both suits value for £ 14 ; two liDen shirts, marked on lower part of back with letters " T. T."; value 12s.; two gold cuff studs, on one monogram, " T." ; value £ 6 ; a pair of new waterproof laced boots, maker's nimc, " Dobbin," on inside if hind quarter ; value £ 2; a pocket knife with corkscrew attached; value 10s.: a button hook; value 2s:; a blue tie, stock make, and gentleman's silk umbrella; both value 13s. The thieves may be wearing the clothes, as they left behind three old black serge coats, one serge vest, one plain cloth vest, and an old pair of laced boots, like such as servants wear. The property of Mrs. Hannah Mathews, which was stolen from her house, Richmond- road, on the night of the 26th or morning of the 27th March, 1886, has not been recovered; Hue- and- Cry, 30th March, 1886. The articles, the property of William George Edmonds, which were stolen from his dwelling- house, have not been recovered; Hue- and- Cry, 12th March, 1886. James Smith ( robbery of money), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 16th February, 1886. Fermanagh. James Cassidy ( assault endangering life), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 3rd October, 1884. Galway. DESCRIPTION of two men, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 6th July, 1886, in the barony of Leitrim, parish of Ballinakill, entered the house of James Ward, Lougha- torick, sub- district Woodford, district Portumna, and forced him on his knees, and exacted a promise from ; him not to use " Cooney's- road " again, putting him : in fear and dread :— 1. Red complexion, red face, strong make, about 6 feet high, sandy hair, short red whiskers, res{ of face shaved; wore a soft black hat and band round it tied in knot, brown tweed coat and trowsers, and bright coloured vest. 2. Dark complexion, stout make, about 5 feet 6 inches high, black hair; wore a frieze coat and trowsers. Portumna, July 8, 1886. ( 7521G c— 29772.) Robinson Gibson ( robbery o/ money), not arrested : Hue- and- Cry, 25th May, 1886. Joseph Greene ( not appearing to attend his trial when on " bail on a charge of assault), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 23rd March, 1886. The watches and other property, stolen from John P. Fogarty's shop, situate in Shop- street, Galway, which was forcibly entered on the night of 22nd or morning of 23rd February last, have not been recovered ; Hue- and- Cry, 26th February, 1886. John Wood ( robbery), not arrested; Hue- and- Ory, 5th January, 1886. Kerry. DESCRIPTION of two sets of harness, the property of the Honorable R. A. Winn, which were stolen from his coach- house at Rossbeigh, in the parish of Glonbehy, and barony of Iveragh, on night of 25th June, 1886, viz.:-— One set of old silver- mounted double harness, minus one pair of hames and traces left behind, cre3t and motto on winkers and housing; value for £ 3; one set of single silvered- mounted harness, nearly new, hames fully plated, crest and motto in three places on winkers, also on houBing; value for £ 14; one plain saddle without stirrups; value £ 1 10s. The crest comprises a dragon surmounting a wreath, enclosing the letters " R. A. W." with the motto " virtute et labore " in raised letters. Killorglin, June 27, 1886. ( 75008 c.— 29398.) Jeremiah Healy ( assault endangering life), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 23rd February, 1886. Daniel Sullivan ( charged with others of having, on the night of the 13th November, 1885, in the barony of Magunihy, parish of Molahiffe, murdered John O'C. Curtin), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 20th November, 1885. Kildare. DESCRIPTION of John Cassidy, native of Sallins, who stands charged with having, on the 15th June, 1886, at Sallins, in the barony of North Naas, parish s^ K 3, " Jhd of Bodenstown, forcibly entered the stables, stores of the Grand Canal Company at Sallins, carried away about 12 stone of potatoes, four small chickens, and a horse clipping machine, the property of the agent of the Company, Thomas Daly :— Gray wild eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, long face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 40 years of age, dark hair turning gray; wore a dark tweed trowsers and corduroy vest with sleeves; is a labourer. Naas, June 16, 1886. ( 74849 c.— 29071.) DESCRIPTION of Thomas Brady, native place not known, who stands charged with having, on the 8th day of June, 1886, in the barony of Clane, parish of Mainham, murdered Anne Ennis:— Brown eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 30 years of age, dark brown hair, and black moustache ; wore around hard hat, tweed coat, old Royal Irish Constabulary trowsers, and tweed vest; is a tramp, and apparently discharged soldier or militia man. This man is remanded for examination on 17th instant; anything known of him should be communicated to the District Inspector at Robertstown. Robertstown, June 13, 1886. The man, name and native place unknown, described in the Hue- and- Cry of 9th February, 1886 ( charged with having set fire to a rick of hay), has not been arrested. King's DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 21st June, 1886, absconded from the Philipstown Reformatory - School, King's county:— Timothy Costigan, No. 989, 17 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slight make, fresh complexion, dark brown hair, hazel eyes, regular nose, ordinary mouth, Oval visage, cut mark on forehead. Formerly belonged to Tullore, Ballyroan, Maryboro', his parents reside at Tullore. The school dress, all with reformatory stamp, consists of:— Corduroy trowsers, vest, and tunic, elastic belt, blue cloth Scotch cap, blucher boots, No. 989. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand^ and will reward * lie person whv may capture him with £ 1. DESCRIPTION of Maurice Lee, native of Dumore, County Waterford, and Patrick Johnston, native of Strokestown, county Roscommon, who stand charged with having, on the 10th day of June, 1886, in the barony of Ballybritt, parish of Birr, failed to give a satisfactory account of themselves in Birr Workhouse, and it is believed they may have committed offences elsewhere:— 1. Cicatrice on right jaw, dark brown eyes, regular nose, fresh complexion, regular face, medium make, 5 feet 7^ inches high, about 29 years of age, dark brown hair, dark brown moustache; wore a black soft hat, old dark tweed coat, light tweed trowsers, and dark tweed vest; is an array reserve man. 2. Gray eyes, regular nose, sallow complexion, thin face, medium make, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 50 years of age, gray hair, gray whiskers cut short; wore a gray tweed cap, dark brown tweed coat, dark tweed trowsers and vest Parsonstown, June 11, 1886. ( 74774 28859.) Convict James Ivers ( not reporting himself), not arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 18th May, 1886. Leitrim. Peter Joseph Rooney ( obtaining money by false pretences), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 19th Febru- Cry, 1886. Limerick. DESCRIPTION of Philip Kennedy ( mother's surname Ryan), native of Ganavane Upper, who stands charged with having, on the 17th day of June, 1886, in the barony of Owneybeg, parish of Doon, fired with a gun at one John Godfrey, with felonious intent, and being bailed to stand his trial at the Limerick Summer Assizes on the 6th July, 1886, failed to do so:— Down- looking and smart appearance, slight turn in nose, gray or blue eyes, short nose, sallow complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 35 years of age, dark hair; wore a hard low felt hat, dark tweed coat, light tweed trowsers and vest; is a farmer's son. DBJCRIPTION of Peter Burn, native of Dublin, who stands ' forged with having, on the 29th June 1886, in tho borough of Limerick, parish of St. John's, stolen and carried away a handle- organ and 3 birds, the property of his master, Francis Desposito :— Red pimples on face, dark eyes, regular nose, dark com- plexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet high, about 26 years of age, dark hair ; wore a hard black hat, dark coat, trowsers, and vest; is an organ- grinder. The person who gave the name of Andrew Cotter ( obtaining goods by false pretences), described in the Hue- and- Cry of 13th instant, has not been arrested. * Londonderry. Peter M'Guigan ( unlawful assembly), not arrested ; Hue- and- Cry, 2nd April, 1886. Longford. DESCRIPTION of Michael Donegan, native of Bar- nacor, who stands charged with having, on or about the 23rd of May, 1886, in the barony of Rathcline, parish of Shrule, and town of Ballymahon, forged and counterfeited a certain letter with intent to defraud:— Gray eyes, ordinary nose, dark com- plexion, round full face, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high, about 82 years of age, black hair ; wore a round hard hat, black morning coat, dark striped trowsers, black vest; large mouth with quick expression when speaking, walks quick with elastic step and swings his hands; Postmaster of Bally- mahon. Ballymahon, June 24,1886. ( 74984 o.— 29354). Edward Cox, described in Hue- and- Cry of October, 1884, ( serious assault), has been arrested and fined at Petty Sessions. DESCRIPTION of John Ward ( mother's surname Kemmit), native of Sligo, and James Hever ( mother's surname Quinn), native of Grassey- hill, Sligo, who' stand charged with having, on the 12th day of June, 1886, at Sligo, in the barony of Carbury, parish of St. John's, formed part of a riotous mob who broke windows and threw stones at the police, No. 1 taking a leading part in the riots :— P. Halt in right knee, which is stiff and a little bent, fair tuft of beard on chin turning gray, blue eyes, regular nose, fair complexion, full face, stout make, 5 feet 7 inches high, about 40 years of age, fair hair turning gray ; wore a low hard black hat, dark coat, gray tweed trowsers and vest, elastis shoes ; is a delph dealer. DESCRIPTION of the undernamed young offender, who, on the 4th June, 1886, absconded from the Glencree Reformatory School, county Wicklow:— John Newsome, No. 1,961 ; about 16 years of age, 5 feet 2 or 5 feet 3 inches high, rather slender make, fresh, but tanned complexion, light brown hair, blue eyes, long and regular nose, ordinary mouth, long visage, cut mark on forehead, and " J. N." or » left arm. Formerly belonged to Santry, county Dublin. His parents are dead. The school dress, all with Reformatory stamp, consists of corduroy trowsers, vest, and jacket, check shirt, cloth ( Scotch make) cap, strong and nailed boots, No. 1,961. The trowsers, jacket, waistcoat, and cap described above have been found, and he is supposed to have instead a double- peaked dark gray cap, a snuff- coloured corduroy trowsers, a tweed vest, and a faded cloth jacket, neither of which is branded. The Manager of the Reformatory will defray the expenses of his conveyance, if arrested, to the nearest Justice, on remand, and will reward the person who may capture him with £ 1.
