M., on the 19th April, 188G, con- victed at Dublin City Commission, Gth June, 1882, for robbery with violence, and sentenced to 5 years' penal yjrvitude, reckoned from 2ud June, 18^ 2 :— 20 ^ fg of ago on conviction, can read and write, is a roman Catholic, single, a labourer, ' prison trade blacksmith, resided before conviction in Dublin, his friends reside at 2, Mullinahack, off New- row, Dublin; dirk hair, hazel eyes, dark brown eye- brows, small brok n nose, large mouth, fair com plexion. oval visage, stout make, 5 feet inches high, faded tattooing marks on right forearm". PARTICULARS relative to Convict Frederick Benson, AS33, convicted in Dublin, at Recorder's Court, on 12th October, 1881, for assault and bodily harm, and sentenced to 5 years' penal servitude :— 2 5 years of age on conviction, single, is a painter; born in Dublin, resided before conviction in South King- street, Dublin : brown hair, gray eyes, light brown eyebrows, small nose, medium mouth, fresh com- plexion, oval visage, stout make, 5 feet 1 £ inches high ; cut scar right side of head, anchor oft left forearm. This man was released from Mountjoy Prison, 8th December, 1885, on licence, and went to reside at 111, Bride- street, Dublin. He left his residence without notifying same to the Metropolitan Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. PARTICULARS relative to English Police Supervisee Patrick O'Donald, alias Hugh Lapping, convicted at Salford, county Lancaster, at Sessions, on 7 July, 1884, for stealing a coat after a prior conviction, and sentenced to 1 5 calendar months and 5 years police supervision : 24 years of age on conviction, single, is a plasterer, born in Glasgow, resided before con- viction at 27, Gun- street, Manchester:— Brown hair, gray eyes, pale complexion, oval visage, proportionate make, 6 feet 3 inches high ; burn marks on left fore- arm. This supervisee was discharged from Knutsford Prison on 6th October, 1885. and went to reside at 5, Millfield- place, Belfast, which place ho left on or about the 1st instant, and is supposed to have gone to Liverpool. ( 32217 M.— 60134.1 PARTICULARS relative to Convict John Herbert, A 64, convicted at Newry, county Down, at the Summer Assizes, on the 3rd July, 1879, for larceny and previous conviction, and sentenced to 7 years' penal servitude:— 32 years of age, single, is a labourer, born at Monkstown, county Dublin, his friends reside at Rathmines; light brown hair, blue eyes, fair eyebrows, broad nose, medium mouth, sandy complexion, broad visage, medium make, 5 feet 4 inches high ; dot b ' tween forefinger and thumb, both hands. This man was released on licence from Mountjoy Prison, 2nd January, l8* fi, and went to reside in Dublin. He reported himself to the Police on same date, and said ho had no settled place of residence, but when he had procured one he would inform them. DESCRIPTION of John James Moriarty, late a con- fidential runner in the Hibernian Bank, Dublin, who is wanted on Warrant here, for that he did, on the 29th August, 1885, unlawfully abscond and feloniously steal the sum of £ 2,391 lis. 10d. sterling, the money and property of the said Bank:— 28 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, slight build, florid complexion, fair hair, no beard, whiskers, or moustache, blue eyes, walks erect; dressed in ( supposed) yellowish tweed suit, and low brown jerry hat. DESCRIPTION of Robert Farquharson, Joint Manager of the ' Minister Bank Dublin, and Agent for the Royal Exchange Assurance Company, Dubli yho, disappeared fropi his residence about mid on the 28th instant, and absconded from his office, leaving his accounts in an unsatisfactory state:— He is about 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark hair, dark beard, whiskers, and moustache, slightly tinged with gray, dark fresh complexion, good dark sparkling eyes, prominent teeth, average build, walks with a stoop, dressed in gentlemanly style, generally wears a silk hat; is a native of Scotland. He is suspected of having embezzled over £ 10,000, property of the said Bank. Information to Superintendent WILLIAM REDDY, Detective Department, Dublin, who holds a Warrant for his arrest. DeSCRIPTION of the property of Mrs. Hannah Mathews, which was stolen from her house, Rich- mond- road, in the parish of Clonturk, barony 6f Coolock, by some person or persons unknown, on the night of the 26th or morning of the 27th March, 1886 :— A large silver bread- basket, with crest ( lamb and banner) on handle ; a silver horse- shoe brooch, with cap and hunting- whip cut thereon; a small gold brooch, shaped like a vine leaf; a silver brooch, shaped like a violin; a silver plated pen and pencil- case ; a pair of double white blankets; three gentle- man's neckties, a white calico and a dark blue silk, in which was inserted a gold breast- pin, with yellow hair in it; two pairs of ladies' boots, laced; a lady's mackintosh, black, value about 16s.; a small penknife ; a white linen shirt; and a quantity of fair hair, rolled in tissue paper. King's DESCRIPTION of Edward Whelan, alias Thomas Connell, of no fixed place, who stands charged with having, on the 24th March, 1886, in the barony of Bally- biitt, parish of Birr, been concerned as an accessory in themurderof Catherine Dunne:— Underlashesofeyes tender and red, bald on the front of head, and looks like an army pensioner, long nose, pale complexion, long face, medium make, 5 feet 9 inches high, about 50 years of age, dark hair, turning gray, dark whiskers and moustache, turning gray; wore a faded soft black hat, bright tweed coat, and daik tweed trowse s. DESCRIPTION of a person, name and native place unknown, but who gave the name of Andrew Cotter, who stands charged with having, on the 7th day of April, 1886, in the borough of Limerick, parish of Saint John's, by fraud and false pretences, obtained from one John Crowe, one sack of flour, one sack of Indian meal, and one cwt. of bran, the property of Thomas Gaffney, Esquire, J. P. ; supposed to reside in the neighbourhood of Killkisben, district of Tulla, and county Clare :— Round stooped shoulders, short cocked nose, fair reddish complexion, medium make, 5 feet 5 inches high, between 40 and 50 years of age, sandy hair and whiskers all round face; wore a gray frieze coat; appeared to be a countryman. DESCRIPTION of John Walsh ( mother's surname Cody), native of Cappamorc, who stands charged with having, on the 18th day of March, 1886, in the barony of Owneybeg, parish of Abington, seriously assaulted John O'Donnell, and whose life is now in danger:— Turns out his toes when walking, small dark moustache, gray eyes, regular nose, dark complexion, thin face, slight make> 5 feet 4 inches high, about 20 years of age, dark hair ; wore a dark cap, tweed coat, trowsers, and vest; generally employed breaking stones.
