FUGITIVE OFFENDERS. A case has come under the notice of the Editor, in which a person whose apprehension was Bought in England, and who was described in the POLICE GAZETTE, gave himself up to the Colonial Police. The prosecutor declined to take any further action in the matter, but the case necessitated the dispatch of two telegrams, the cost of which had to be refunded by him. To avoid such expense, the Editor requests, that if there is reason to believe that a fugitive offender is likely to go to the Colonies, and the prosecutor is un- willing to incur any expense, with a view to obtain his surrender, a notification be made in the communi- cation sent to this Office to the effect that the offender is not to be arrested beyond the United Kingdom. The necessity for the adoption of such a course will be apparent from the fact that the POLICE GAZETTE is circulated in the Colonies. " What advantage can there be in knowing I am condemned already 1 Much . because only they who believe themselves condemned can claim a Saviour. Last week we studied Rom. iii. 9 : all under sin ; now let us see v. 22 : all believing ones are under righteousness. The shoreless ocean of the love of God, that flowed through a crucified Saviour, will roll over your million of sins, and you can say, as you look at that ocean covering all against you, ' there is no difference.' " Clad in the skins of God's own making, Adam and Eve were equally clothed- — there was ' no difference.' Shut in by God's Hand into the ark of gopher wood' the eight souls of Noah's house were equally saved— there was ' no difference.' " Under shelter of the sprinkled blood every house of Israel was safe, even in Egypt, and all equally rejoiced around the roasted lamb, for there was ' no differ- ence.' " Under protection of the scarlet line, whosoever was found in Rahab's house was equally safe, when all in Jericho were destroyed, for there was ' no difference.' " None of all those enrolled in the Lamb's book of life can be cast into the lake of fire. In that Book there is no difference ; once there, perfectly secure for ever. God's salvation to lost sinners must always be through judgment. We must accept His ordinance. What was in skin of beasts, in an ark of gopher wood, in a few drops of blood, in a red cord, or in a certain book 1 They are God's ordinance, God's per- fect way. We must accept God's thoughts for what will condemn or save— accept the character God has given to us, and accept the Saviour He has provided for us.' W. P. M. Now on Sale.
