Notices respecting all Felonies and such Misdemeanours as are of an aggravated nature will be inserted. *„* Should irregularities arise in the delivery of the Hue- and- Cry, it will be necessary to forward one of the covers, or give the number it bears, as without this information it is almost impossible to rectify the mistake. Prison and Police Authorities are requested to be good enough to inform the Inspector- General, Royal Irish Constabulary, Dublin Castle, of the abolition of Gaols, Stations, ic., and of any circumstances rendering the supply of the " Hue- and- Cry " no longer necessary. DESCRIPTION of William Henry Bemrose Bratley, a Savings Bank Clerk, wanted in the borough of Boston, charged by Warrant issued on the 21st October, 1885, with stealing £ 100 on the 20th of July last:— 38 , years of age, but looks somewhat younger, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, stout build, and weighs about 12 stone, fresh complexion, and good looking, dark hair and moustache, and a little whisker on sides of face if not shaved off, walks very eroct, and is of smart appearance; generally drossed in dark clothes, and a blue overcoat with velvet collar, and hard black felt or silk hat. He is very talkative and fond of Company, and will sometimes amuse his companions with recitations, su « h as the " Charge of the Light Brigade " & c. He left Boston about the end of August, and was seen in London on the 15 th instant He is likely to leave the country. Information to HENRY BELLAMY, Head Constable. STOLEN from a dwelling- bouse in this borough, within tho last 12 months :— A massive old fashioned linked chain, yellow gold, engraved, a little less than a yard long, joined together without clasp; oval- sbaped locket loose from the chain, about H inches long, had a pearl on one side in the centre of a black and gold star, and on the other side in black and " old raised letters, " In Memory of." About a dozen of small silver appendages, including drums, crosses, button- hooks, and boats. About 2 dozen gold plated appendages, same pattern as silver appendages. 2 dozen 9 carat gold keeper rings, engraved patterns. About 4s. in silver and copper money, and a small willow basket, square shape, black and white mixed, two leather straps for fastening, and leather handle on top ; and 2 small nickel silver alarm clocks, round shape, nickel silver bell, and brass ring on top, white dial about 4 inches diameter, seconds hand on dial, two small brass feet, two brass keys, one for winding movement the other for winding alarm, and two small knob screws at back. Entrance was obtained to a sunk aroa behind the shop by means of overcoming a lock- fast gate and a lock- fast door, then to a cellar underneath the shop by racking the iron stanchions of the window thereof by means of a rope and a piece of iron, by pushing up the lower sash of the window, which had been left unsnibbed, and entering thereat, and by proceeding up a trap stair from the cellar into the shop. The jewellery is of an inexpensive kind, but may • be pledged with pawnbrokers or sold to brokers or dealers in cheap jewellery, or may be disposed of by licensed pedlars or licensed auctioneers. The value of the best of the stolen watches will not exceed £ 2. It is requested that the Police use every effort with a view to the recovery of the stolen property and the capture of the thieves, and that any information bearing on the subject be immediately communicated to the subscriber. WANTED at Selkirk, on Sheriffs Warrant, charged with having between the 19th August and 21st September, 1885, stolen or embezzled £ 850, the property of the Directors of the British Linen Company's Bank :— Frank Wood, lately Accountant in the Galashiels Branch of the British Linen Com- pany's Bank, about 28 years of age, 5 feet 9 or 10 inches in height, large gray eyes, Urge mouth, fresh complexion, ordinary make, long dark hair, no beard or whiskers, may have slight dark moustache, walks with a slouching gait, and generally has his hands in his trowsers pockets ; dressed in a rough light brown tweed suit, and carried a black leather travelling Case. Accused left Galashiels on the afternoon of 21st September last, per fast train for Carlisle, and will likely endeavour to go abroad. Police officers are requested to make every search and inquiry for the accused at shipping offices, outward bound vessels, and other likely places. PARTICULARS relative to Convict Patrick Myles, A29'>, convicted in Dublin, at Commission, on 9th June, 1881, for housebreaking, and sentenced to 8 years' penal servitude :— 25 years of age on con- viction. single, prison trade shoemaker; horn in Limerick city ; resident before conviction in Church- street, Dublin : dark brown hair, brown eyes, black eyebrows, regular nose, medium mouth, fresh com- plexion, round visage, stout make, 5 feet 8 inches high ; butterfly, anchor, and woman on left forearm, and cross on right, boil marks on neck. This man was released from Lusk Prison on licence, 28th July, 1885, and went to reside at No. 4, Lower Cumberland- street, Dublin, which place he has left, without notifying same to the Metropolitan Police, and his present whereabouts is unknown. DESCRIPTION of John James Moriarty, lute a con fidential runner in the Hibernian Bank, Dublin, who is wanted on Warrant here, for that he did, on tho 29th August, 1885, unlawfully abscond and feloniously steal the sum of £ 2,391 lis. lOrf. sterling, the money and property of the said Bank:— 28 years of age, 5 feet 10 inches high, slight build, florid complexion, fair hair, no beard, whiskers, or moustache, blue eyes, walks erect; dressed in ( supposed) yellowish tweed suit, and low brown jerry hat. DESCRIPTION of Robert Farquharson, Joint Manager of the Munster Bank Dublin, and Agent for the Royal Exchange Assurance Company, Dublin, who disappeared from his residence about mid- day, on the 28th instant, and absconded from his office, leaving his accounts in an unsatisfactory state:— He is about 40 years old, 5 feet 9 inches high, dark hair, dark beard, whiskers, and moustache, slightly tinged with gray, dark fresh complexion, good dark sparkling eyes, prominent teeth, average build, walks with a stoop, dressed in gentlemanly style, generally wears a silk hat; is a native of Scotland. He is suspected of having embezzled over £ 10,000, property of the said Bank. Information to Superintendent WILLIAM REDDY, Detective Department, Dublin, who holds a Warrant for his arrest. ( 30961 M.— 58003 ) In the above case the Liquidators of the Munster Bank ( Limited) will pay a reward of £ 500 for the arrest of the said Robert Farquharson, on his being delivered up to the Gaol Authorities in Dublin. Mary Bligh, alias Lynch, native of Ballymoe, who disappeared from her home, in the barony of Bally- moe, parish of Drumatemple, on or about the 9th January, 1884, has not been since heard of; Hue- and- Cry, 28th March, 1884. DESCRIPTION of Henry Kerrigan, native of Ballina- carrick, who stands charged with having, on the 6th day of September, 1885, in the barony of Terhugh, Kerry. DESCRIPTION of four persons, names unknown, supposed natives of Keel or Lack, near Castlemaine, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 26th and morning of the 27th September, 1886, in the barony of Corkaguiny, parishes of Kilgobbin and Killiney, in company with other armed and disguised moonlighters, numbering about fourteen or fifteen, feloniously attacked the houses of seventeen farmers, and forcibly carried away therefrom various sums of money, a single barrelled muzzle- loading Enfield Rifle & c., and attempted to swear some of the farmers against paying rent:— 1. " The Captain," small slight man, 5 feet 6 inches high, about 20 years of age, loDg false whiskers ( gray) down to his waist; wore a slouched hat, long oiled coat. 2. Stout man, 5 feet 7 or 8 inches high, about 28 years of age ; wore a woman's black straw bonnef, brown sack coat, brown trowsers thread- bare. 3. Face painted with black and yellow streaks downwards, 5 feet 6 or 7 inches high, about 26 or 27 years of age; wore a black soft wide- awake hat, gray tweed suit, carried two guns, one being that taken from Mr. Daniel Griffin, during the raid. 4. Very tall and straight, masked face, medium make, 6 feet high, about 27 years of age; wore a red handkerchief over face, long brown tweed over- coat. Each of the four carried a double barrelled gun, a pouch and cross belt, and carried revolvers in inside pocket of their coats. The other eleven remained outside the houses, no description can be given, save that all carried double barrelled guns. Dingle, October 1, 1885. ( 70684 c.— 22255.) Five persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 29th September, 1885, in the barony of Corkaguiney, parish of Killiney, been five of a party of armed and disguised moonlighters who entered the house of Jeremiah Scanlan, of Magbern- beg, and did forcibly take therefrom a single barrel gun with some powder and shot, net arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 6th October, 1885. A fowling piece, a briar- root pipe, and a powder flask, the property of Daniel Griffin, described in the Hue- and- Cry of 6th October, 1885, havo not been recovered. THE POLICE GAZETTE, OR HUE- AND- CRY, SEPTEMBER 18, 1885. The two persons, names and native places un- known, charged with having assaulted Michael Corcoran, and described in the Hue- and- Cry of the 19th of June last, have not been arrested. Five persons, names and native places un- known, who stand charged with having, on the night of the 18th April, 1885, in the barony ol Corkaguiny, parish of Ballinorker, attacked the dwelling- houses of John Cruickshank, Inch, and Daniel Daly, Caherpierce, and taken therefrom six guns, and also with seriously assaulting John Cruick- shank on the same occasion by inflicting four cuts on his head with the stock of a gun, Ac., have not been arrested, nor the arms recovered; Hue and- Cry, 24th April, 1885. Kildare, DESCRIPTION of one gelding ass and harness, the property of Patrick King, of Rathgrumely, county Kildare, which were stolen from the lands of Rath grumely, parish of Narraghmore, barony of Narragh and Re ban West, on the night of 14 th or morning of 15th October, 1885 :— One gelding ass, dark brown colour, not shod, a black mark under where straddle rests, rather long in make, aged about 9 years ; value for about £ 4. DESCRIPTION of two persons, names and native places unknown, who stand charged with having, on the 16th day of October, 1885, in the barony of North Naas, parish of Naas, broken and enterfd the dwelling house of John Howe, and carried away thorofrom one pair of button and one pair of elastic gentleman's boots ( nearly new), a cotton sheet, and a Gorman Flute :— 1. Fair complexion, round face, medium make, 4 feet 10 inches high, about 16 years ot age, fair hair: wore a dark tweed coat, and dark trowsers; barefooted ; is a tramp. 2. James Farrell ( absconded from Urlingford Union Workhouse, taking with him clothing, the property of the Guardians of said union), has not been arrested; Hue- and- Cry, 15th May, 1885. Four men, names and native places unknown, ( who stand charged with having, on the 4th of May, 1885, in the barony of Drumahaire, parish of Drumreilly, been of a party of five armed men, who lorcibly entered the dwelling- house of Patrick M'Morrow, ofFahy, threatened the inmates, and seized and carried away a gun), described in the Hue- and- Cry, of the 12th of May, not arrested.
