IDENTIFICATION OF PRISONERS. APPREHENSIONS SOUGHT. Such photographs are also compared with the albums in the Convict Office con- taining the portraits of all Convicts liberated in the Kingdom, which are further open to the personal examination of any police officer or warder, IDENTIFICATION OF BODIES. UNCLAIMED The attention of the Editor has been directed to the svant of any system existing for the publication of descriptions of dead bodies coming into the hands of Police, and which are buried without having been iden- tified. Police Officers and Witnesses coming to London w ill find a comfortable home on most reasonable terms. " He that hath ears to hear, let him hear." " Speak, Lord, for Thy servant heareth." " Master, say on." God, at sundry times and in divers manners, spake, in time past. Let us listen ! 1. " God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not." Before aught else stirred, the spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters, so is it in our souls. 2. He Who came to seek and t; o save still walks in our midst, and the con- victing Voice of the Lord God calls unto each one, " Where art thou?" 3. Louder still is the sound, as, accompanied by thunderings and trumpets. His holy law is made known unto us. 4. Passing on from Exod. xix. to Exod. xxviii., thesound changes, and gospel bells ring out from the robe of the High Priest, conveying to the people continual assurance of accepted sacrifice, of a blood- sprinkled mercy- seat, of intercession made for them. 5. In 2 Sam. v. we find cloubt and perplexity, a need of guidance, a need of rousing for conflict, and, according to their need, the Voice of God supplies distinct and definite directions, by " a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees." 6. And who does not call to mind the mention of the " still small voice " speaking to Elijah? In the reaction, after a . magnificent triumph of faith in 1 Kings xviii., we find that servant of God spent and exhausted ; a terrible sense of failure and lowliness depresses him, " Lord, take away my life," all these things are against me. TheD, " the Lord passed by," and as He spake, reproof, comfort, encouragement revived the prophet's fainting heart. Lastly, let us listtn to the Voice of Companion- ship. " The Lord said, shall I hide from Abraham the thing which I do?" " And the Lord spake unto Moses, face to face, as a man speaketh with his friend" BUY ONLY ENGLISH WATCHES.
